he has to find a better way to teach. i didn't learn anything from him!
The only thing worse than his lack of knowledge is his attitude!!!
Obviously intelligent and knows material. Has problems communicating it however.
Has always been fair and responds both in and out of class (often in 24h).
one of worse teacher at seneca
the whole time I'm looking at him, thinking "I'm smarter than you & you know it"
This is not a hard course. I think he's fair and hard working.
Such eccentric behaviour shows lack of real world experience.
understanding and helpful, quick response to e-mail. Overall Fair to students
Poor communication skills, Should stick to the AS400

Good teacher, but insists on seeing things HIS way! This got the class annoyed!
Only knows what the text book tells him and cannot explain anything in it.
The only god damn stupid guy can not pass his course. excellent teacher!
booo...couldn;t teach the concepts the three states of H2O
Great teacher, very helpfull!
don't be fooled by his strict policies, he's a real softy
Lazy. He does not like what he is doing at all. Do not hope to be taught.
I am sure he knows his stuff... but is worth **** trying to explain it..
very hard marker but he is very thorough
Can't explain anything. Hard Marker. Hope he gets hit by a car. ****!!!

This professor is not so good for the students who are interested in accounting field. He will cool down your mind if you are interested in acc. Especially not suggested for Chinese students.
Excellent Prof for those interested in accounting. I don't agree with the previous post - he has nothing against certain groups of students. Everything should be based on merit - Prehaps the previous poster got caught when the college used turnitin.com&
He is the funniest teacher I've ever had, and the best part about it is that half the time he doesn't even mean to be funny! He's willing to help if you attend his class. Although I do admit, he sometimes does aim rude comments toward the Asian students.
He is the best professor I've ever had. I really appreciate his knowledge. Although I dorp the course because of my healthy problem...I'm worried that I won't meet another nice prof. as him
He is really a hard marker,i guess he's preparing to fail whole the class.
He is...kind of hard marker...doesn't help students too much.Even when you have some programe problems,he just ignor them.
rude, lazy, hard, what else words can describe him?

Good Prof. Enjoyed his class. Don't agree with previous writers. He is very fair, and yes, merit is the key to doing well in his class.
Good class last summer. Made easy to understand. He makes you work hard, but learn alot.
I dislike his lectures because I need to listen to these rude opinions. It is very unpleasant to study there at all........

Think his words in a reverse way: If he says "it's very easy", it means it is very hard; if he says "don't worry about it, you will have plenty of time to write the test", I suggest you speed up, you will be in trouble! If you don't believe me, just wait and see!
Very easy marker & nice
He is very nice, clear, funny, helpful and smart! But the course is not very easy.I really enjoyed his class. It is not hard to get a good mark from him.
I find him to be a very arrogant instructor. He reads from the text and whips through homework answers very quickly. When you ask him a question, he gives sarcastic answers. It was really stressful to be in his class. This course is the foundation of accounting in depth. Suggest you find another instructor to fully understand this course
Fair in marking, helpfull.
waste of time, confusing, unorganized, bed teacher, impolite, can make personal remarks in front of the class.
Had fun and enjoyed the class. Hope to be in his class in the winter
Easy marker, I know I should had gotten an F, but he let me pass with a C.
Hard course, was interesting, good teacher, but not interested in tax for my future.
Would take his class again. He made tax fun and interesting. Test were hard.
He is a very nice teacher but he teaching just a little. Very easy teacher. not hard marker.
he is an excellent profesor. He teaches whatever he think is neceseary for student to learn. I love his teaching style. He is fun and interesting .Dont miss the class and you will get good mark.He is easy marker. He is the best I miss my taxation profesor so Badly and he is HOT ;)
He is the best professor I seen in Seneca. He knows his material and teaches wt he think is useful for student. Easy marker, fun and interesting.Easy with ESL and very helpfull. I liked his class and still miss his teaching so much .I wish he was teaching other courses..but he likes Taxation and I lrean so much from him.he the best and very hot chine
the only other option is Bibi John (who is terrible). simon is a little disorganized at times and a bit eccetric, but overall he's a good teacher. I would definitely take another class that he teaches if i had the opportunity.
Simon is a great prof! Very well organized, smart, funny, and an easy marker! He tells u what u need to know and explains it lots of times! He is a must-take prof!
He makes rude comments and lame jokes and he does not teach anything! you will go home confused and figure out that he has not tought half of the stuff that is on tests or assignments
Very good teacher. he loves to joke around. and if you want to ask him anything think before you do that he is very picky on that. overall a very good professor who knows what he is teaching.
One of the best teacher in Seneca. Made something as boring as Tax fun and also very nice guy and give good marks.
He is the best professor That I have ever met in Seneca. He makes the class funny since no text book. He teaches everything which is very important and you will benefit for the rest of your life. I strongly recommend him if you want to learn something, but don't miss anyone of his classes. Thank you Simon!
a really good professor. He helps you a lot, explain every detail clearly... Also, a easy marker. I love Simon so much. you should choose him!
I've had better instructors, but OK overall.
He wasn't very clear but the course and text book are very awful. At least he is not really hard-marker
Made tax as interesting as possible. Funny guy. You have to be at every class taking notes in order to get a good mark. He's a fair marker.
Not bad, but when students ask questions, his answers are not clear
He was the best teacher I've ever met at Seneca. He cares about the students, teaches the tax lessons that can be used in real life. Just attend every class and show your respect and review what he said, and you get A for sure!!!
I agree, choose carefully, the fate of future students are in your hands! If I knew how confusing the lessons are, I would have looked for another professor. But the comments here made me think, he is good! Half the class passed because of tests samples from previous and manage only to get 50%. Woe to those who had no clue but depend on their own
The worst pro. in Seneca ever!He is rude and not helpful. He will confuse you when you ask question in class. Do not take his class!
There's no textbook and the class is made by him and another teacher, lessons are all over the place. He constantly jumps from topic to topic and will spend 15 mins on something insignificant and then 2 mins on something then say it's on the test. Speaking of which the tests are HARD. He doesn't prepare you for the tests at all.
NO book, confuse student a lot. unclear lecture!
Awesome Prof, just make sure you attend classes.
Good professor, you have to remember lots of stuff. Don't skip the class because you are not going to use any textbook! He is rude sometimes!
Class was tough for me, thought it could have been taught at a slower pace and more hands on for sure. It is a course taught at an advance level I felt, but many caught on to the class. He is fair, but show up for class as notes are necessary for the tests. I would recommend the learning centre if available. Study hard and you will pass.
Here is what I can say about Prof Lee 1) would take him again if he teaches other acc courses 2)His quizzes and tests are not hard at all. YOU JUST HAVE TO ATTEND CLASS AND STUDY. Midterm was a bit hard nonetheless it is very possible to get high marks on quizzes and assignments 3)He only teaches what you need to know 4)He can be mean sometimes
Very disappointing to him this semester, a rough test with strict marks. And rude always, lacking a minimum of respect for the students.
He is simply Awesome
The professor has knowledge of taxes however he is really confusing to follow. The material is not hard to absorb however the professor makes it hard to understand and makes fun of student's questions. Sad that Seneca employs such professors who have a bad attitude towards teaching. Professor does not like to explain the same thing twice.
He did not post the solution for practice question and coming to class is the only way you can study and pass the course. You can not review your practice question and if you have no friends there is no way you pass the course because he will not explain again
He is the worst professor I have ever studied. He is rude, not supportive. The outline is hard to explain, there is no textbook and he will not say this week for which study, which document. You can't ask questions if you don't understand. He makes u embarrassing if you can't follow what he is teaching "I already explained it last week"???
He marks not on your work but on your attendance. He look at the list of his students and If you take class regularly, he will make you with higher grade. Even you got the right number, he will not mark it if you do not write in the way he wants. He is not helpful, he doesnt not say or post the format but grade you on his format.
please don't take him. He is rude and underestimates when students did not understand and do well on exercise.
like others said he's rude and disrespectful and has a lot of anger, like angry bird.
There is no textbook for the course and his notes are chaotic. Though his lecture is fun, you need much more time to prepare for the exam.
Simon is very rude I should have switched his section. You are only considered a good student if you get a grade of 'B' or above. His speaks openly about a 80:20 ratio in the class which I think is not the best approach. His behavior improved when we went online due to COVID, I am guessing because they are recorded and can be checked by Seneca.
Doesn't answer questions. Can't expand on teaching material. Notes are incoherent. Keeps going back and forth between chapters just to fill time. Multiple choice tests are horribly made no chance of part Marks. Overall dont bother with this professor honestly.
In my opinion, he is one of the best teacher at Seneca. His teaching style is very inspirational and clear. I decided to transfer to the degree program because of him. But I need to be honest that if you are serious about your school works and expect to really learn, take his classes. If you just want good grades, dont.
One of the best profs Ive had in Seneca. Will give you his notes to better understand the lessons in addition to the textbook. He seems enthusiastic when it comes to teaching which makes learning taxation bearable. Since classes are online, he allows openbook tests but does not give part marks for your calculations. Course requires heavy studying.
I appreciate how he would always says "I used to be like you guys, I was a student too", it reduce the distance between students and him. Very clear lectures, he goes back and forth to explain without getting impatient. His tests are not too bad, decent, but do study and be careful.
Professor Simon is the best.I took him for a summer course and had no regrets. Gives lots of extra credit. No pop quizzes. Does tutoring and is very very funny and flexible. Wish I can take him for all my classes. Doesn't over burden you with work.
Amazing professor
He is not a total bad professor. I found his questions pretty difficult in all the exams and that he is also a tough grader. And although, lot says, classes aren't mandatory but I feel it is necessary to attend to at least pass the course. If the student gives 100% effort and maintain a good communication then I guess he'll not disappoint.
One of the worst professors at Seneca. Every class he would say like, "This is very important. Write it down. Don't send me an email to ask these questions. I wouldn't know how to answer these in the email." He spends time on housekeeping repetitively but skims through the content of the course. The wording of questions do not make logical sense.
Just print whatever notes he gives, understand them and practice all questions in the notes. you'll thank me later. I coud've gotten an A just didnt give enough attention to his notes.
He seems like a nice guy who genuinely wants students to learn. Unfortunately he is so disorganized that it makes learning impossible. Attendance is mandatory because without going to class, you WILL NOT know what is going on. The grammar on tests is extremely difficult to understand. Very overwhelming course. Thankfully, he is a lenient grader.
Given tax is one of the difficult subjects, he able to make it easy to understand and showed the class the practical uses and importance of the line items. As long as you attend his classes all the time, the lessons are easy to follow. He may have some sarcastic comments but it's his way of encouraging students to attend and listen
Obviously, ACC400 is a challenging course, it requires learners take it seriously. Thus, Professor Simon never gives us a work with ease, but it's worth it. Students will be good at ACC400 if they respect their classes.
one of best professor just carefully listen his classes and do practice questions and you are good to go. great professor.
He is unintentionally rude but cares for his students. You might feel offended by what he says but in the end, he is doing it for you to learn. If you attend his class regularly and understand clearly how tax works, you should be fine. He also easily remembers his students' faces and names so if you skip class often he will know.
One of the most caring Professor you will ever meet. Even if you are underperforming he will still find ways to help you get back. He is funny and has a great sense of humour. The most important step in order for you to pass is by attending all the classes. Attendance MATTERS. It will help you throughout the course. ATTEND. TAKE NOTES. PASS.
Demonstrates thorough knowledge about taxation. Although the course materials can be improved, he glides his way through them the best way he could so we can follow along. The exams were tough it was impossible for me to get an A. But overall he teaches well. It's just that taxation ain't for me. Funny man, Simon.
Professor Simon can be a bit blunt, but he truly cares about his students' success. Attend every class, take good notes, and use Unstuck ai for extra practice - that's the recipe for acing this challenging course.
Its a tough class but he is an amazing teacher. It would be easier if there was more practice throughout the course but he genuinely wants his students to suceed.
Pros: Knowledgeable, posts helpful and detailed notes, sense of humor (e.g. "this can help save your marriage"). Cons: Can be rather harsh during lectures/emails, randomly calls out students. While the detail is welcomed, the notes he posts are messy and often hard to process (looks like the "pepe silvia" meme, for lack of a better descriptor).
The professor retired form Seneca. One of the best Prof Seneca had. Taught you what you needed to know for real life application. Professor if you are reading this you will be missed I wish I had you for the entire summer semester. I loved your lesson, especially the part about preparing for the worst, hoping for the best. Thank you
