very easy. He only gives A's and B's
This class was so fun! We had one lab every week and he gives you the awnsers. At the end of the semester, you get to go to the mountians to look a the stars and plantets through his telescopes. He does not give lower than a B grade. easy teacher!
A fun and easy Astronomy Lab class. You get to go to mtn. to take pictures and look at stars through telescopes. He's a real calm, easy-going teacher. He's highly recommended.
How can you not love this guy? A great sense of humor, a genuine love for teaching, and the rare ability to foster interest in the subject matter of the course.
This guy is great. The first sentence he says the first day is "you will really have to try hard in here to get less then an A " LOVED HIM
easy great professor, really funny and relax. Convince him to go on a fieldtrip it's really fun and interesting. Best lab you'll ever take.
Awesome guy, great teacher, makes class fun and easy, sense of humor, great grade, definitely take the class with him if you get the opportunity!
funny teacher! get out early every day.
very funny, very easy class, field trip at the end of the semester, he gives you the answers for the final, you just have to read them 10 minutes before, you leave really early from class, like an hour early every week, labs are simple
this guy was great! we usually got out of class early. he's great at making the labs as easy as possible. his drawings on the board are accurate and informative! i wish i had taken his astronomy lecture class too! take this class!
Ok so the person below me is on crack!! Sina is my most favorite teacher of all the teachers in Mesa! The class is so fun & interesting, you won't ever be bored or want to miss a class! Good test reviews, they aren't really hard but you have to study.
Decent looking guy for an old man. Great reviews before tests give you everything you need to know. Funny prof.
Like everyone else said, he is a great prof and makes learning easy and fun. One class you won't want to leave early from (but he'll let you out early anyway!)
Like all the other reviews have said he is a great guy. Very easy class, but better than that you actually learn alot. You will walk out of class knowing quite a bit about astronomy. Great class, if your taking astronomy you MUST take him!
Best teacher! Very clear, very interesting. Loves questions and will explain things over and over until everyone is on board. Helps you with any problems you might have in the class and makes it impossible not to learn the material. Great teacher, take him
Sina is a passionate teacher. Taking his class motivates you to want to learn and be as passionate as he is about astronomy and life. Everyone in my class loved him! JUST RELAX! ;)
very good teacher, knows alot about astronomy and knows how to explain it, he will let you leave early after your work is done and he is very laid back!! Quite a good looker too...
Very cool guy who is passionate about astronomy. You will do well in the class if you listen to lab instructions. He gets really upset if you talk during his lectures. I loved his class and actually learned something.
this guy is totally chill... the best teacher i've had so far. He is very interesting and funny... i loved his class... i'd take it again if i could.
Sina was an extremely talented teacher. He first came off as a little gofy, (hippy throwback), but when you got into the class, you could see that he really knows the topic and WANTS people to pass. You don't need a book here either, pay attention and take good notes and it's an easy A!
I loved this class, what I looked forward to every week. His laid back personality makes it easy to learn and he is very willing to help and explain. He is also really funny and wants to see you pass.Take his class!!
Super friendly guy, tried to make the class as easy as possible without it being ridiculous. Very easy class but you still really have to pay attention and study to do good in the class.
Easy B. Pay attention in class to get an A. He does want you to learn about astronomy and brings interest to the subject. Take him for Ast 101 in the summer and lab during the semester. Plays good music during lab. Nice guy but don't ****him off (Summer 04 you know what I'm talkin about).
Very awesome teacher. Wish he also tought physics as well. Learned a lot more from him than from my other astronomy teachers. Follow the rules and you will have no problem.
what teachers should be. i wish he taught english or math, or anything else too! you wont have a problem cuz he cares...smartt guy. take it!
very helpful and caring will make you understand so u can pass
the best teacher, really cares and works w/u. really knows his stuff. he is loaded w/knowledge
Easy "A." It's almost as if he realizes that the majority of his class is just taking the class for the credits. Basically gives you the test questions the class before. No HW. You don't need to buy the book. All you basically have to do is show up, sit there, and kinda pay attention. Don't show up late, or he'll call on you to ask questions.
Money lover, Man u make more than ur boss, stop taking money from us /!! Good heart but he has responsibilities, please help him out, thank you
I really enjoyed his class. He is extremely educated and knows his stuff about astronomy. He cares for his students and if you care about the class, he will help you all he can. He can be short tempered, but only if you deserve it! Be respectful, on time, and take your learning seriously, and you will love him too.
he's an outstanding teacher and knows his stuff. clear, concise, and kept my interest. i wouldn't say it's an "easy A," it's more like an "easy B" if you at least show up, take notes, and pay attention. if you put in a little work you'll get an "A" though. no hw, tests are mult choice. he lets you know up front that you don't need the book.
this teacher is the absolute best
ditto the comment that he is cool but dont piss him off. i suggest lab and class in summer; the combo helps to retain the material. only negative: he is so knowledgable that he can be impatient at times esp lab.
THE BSET THE BEST THE BEST...
really cool teacher! Awesome dude! but he said if he knows your name at the end of the semmester he'll give you an A. In the end he gave mostly B's. A's for the people who got "all A's" on the labs. So if you take him, make sure you answer correct.

Great Teacher, really cool.
Coolest teacher ever! He is extremely fair with grading and make astronomy really fun. The only thing you have to do to pass is go to class and do your work and be nice to him. Thats it!
Probabley the sweet teacher of all time. SO funny, yet so informative and helpful. If you don't have this guy your missin out. Ow dont be late to class, he gets pissed about that. other than that hes super cool and hopefully comes back next semester nice and healthy.
He has got to be the sweetest guy in the school he loves his job and he loves his students. I love his class and his sence of humor. He plays music for us while we do our labs which is very soothing. I recommend him just try not to make him angry. So when he talks you just keep you mouth shut and it wil be a great semester.
the coolest teacher ive had at mesa!!!! take this guy. he rocks!!
Great Teacher. Explains everything really well and you always get out of class early. As long as you do the little labs each class there is no way you can fail it.
Took Sadjadi for lab & Coleman for lecture. PERFECT COMBO! Do this and an A is in the bag. Sadjadi gives no homework, & lab always lets out early. Super cool old Russian dude. He checks your labs before you turn them in, so showing up every day = guaranteed A. Seriously, don't take anyone else for Astro Lab, & try to take Coleman for lecture.
By far my favorite teacher at Mesa. This guy is absolutely awesome. Makes the dull subject of Astronomy fun and interesting! Show up and do the labs (which are way easy) and you'll get an A. He loves to talk to you and i hope he's recovered and is back this semester or next!!! LOVE THIS TEACHER!!!
He is an idiot who doesn't know how to talk to his students. He only talks to 2-3 of his favourite students and if they understand things then he thinks the whole class is following him. He doesn't give any time at all for exams and wants to finish his class and go home so will give you exam worth 90 minutes and ask to complete it in 45 minutes.
Buy the Packet and listen to Bob Marley while doing the labs. Longest I was there was an hour and a half. Great professor highly recommend enjoys his job and makes it fun.
Honestly one of the best professors I've ever had. I would recommend him to anyone.
I took this guy for both the 101 and lab. He is very straight forward and he goes over everything on the test the day before the exam. it is very easy and he teaches very well. he is strict so if he tells u dont talk, dont talk. but pretty easy class.
Great teacher, TAKE HIS CLASS.
His lab was pretty easy and he helps the people who "don't get it" quickly. He is funny and sarcastic, probably my favorite teacher at mesa. Be sure to take him with Sievers (ASTR 101) because he has the answers to Sievers' old practice tests, and he lets you use them, which was a great help!
FABULOUS PROF! A MUST for Lab! Explains what to do @ start of class, helps U till U understand. Great stories, makes the class info relatable & fun. Helps U with Ur lecture class if U ask. Fieldtrip to his observitory has long drive but is worth it. Interesting man who knows his stuff & wants students to do well. Final is easy if U study the guide.
Never missed a class. Took notes in color exactly how they were written on the board. Studied about 10 minutes before each exam (although this isn't recommended--I'm probably smarter than you). Have a solid A in the class. Best professor I have ever had. He needs a higher salary and to be paid on time (they paid him a month late at one point).
His teaching method is to have you understand the material by the end of the class. His philosophy is that if you understand the material, you will get an A anyway. He's right and I remember everything I learned in his class. As a professor--he get's an A from me!!!
Great Instructor, I had to take the Astro lab over b/c the Spring teacher was an ass, heard good things about the summer instructors and passed the course, be on time, and do you your own work
Sina rocks! His lectures aren't always clear, but he comes around and helps everyone until they get it. Gives you a practice exam for the final. If you have an A, you don't have to take it. Great way to get your lab for GE. Take with Sievers. Sina shows you how to pass Sievers's exams. He can be abrasive at times, but he is just being sarcastic.
i loved his class, he is so funny and chill. the final was super easy too. take him!
Amazing teacher! He really wants people to understand astronomy, he's extremely helpful. Take him!
A really decent human being. In other words a real nice guy. More interested in you learning about astronomy than about grades. For a lab course to complete gen ed req. This is the professor!
If you need a GE lab, take this class! Show up every week, do all of the labs, and you'll get an A. DO NOT be late, and DO NOT argue with him. He is the nicest guy ever until you get on his bad side. Class ends early ALL of the time, and he does an exam review for the final so you know exactly what to expect. Book materials are less than $20
A = come to class
Had Sina for Astronomy Lab. Easy lab and he's such a great, super chill, and funny teacher. If you have a question.. don't hesitate to ask and he'll help you out! Wish more professors were more like him! Definitely a fun and interesting class!
Great guy! Follow instructions, pay attention, come to class and don't be late, and you'll get an A! Ask any questions and he's so helpful. I don't know what else to say, he's a great instructor!
Easiest lab ever!!! The lab is suppost to last for 3 hours but they never do. They range from 45-90 minutes at the most. Easy A, he knows his stuff. The only thing he asks is that you show up on time.
He is AWESOME! I wish he taught more classes. Come to class on time, do the work, ask questions and you will get an A. It's fair and square. Seriously nice guy with great stories and he works hard to make the class enjoyable.
Really nice and fun guy. Listen to music while u do ur labs. Great field trip at an observatory. Easy A if u come to class and do ur stuff. No text book for this class only his packet which costs 6$ thats it. Best way to get ur science lab done. No homework only one final test and he tells you what to study. Take him.
I would recommend him to anyone. Perfect way to get s science lab done because he doesn't ask much and class is ALWAYS done early, which is awesome! Sometimes it's hard to tolerate his harsh sarcasms, but he's only joking around. Come to class on time and don't get on his bad side, which can be easy to trigger sometimes. Don't worry,he's easy&nice.
this is such a great class. sina is very passionate about space and it shows in his discussions. he is a really chilled out guy, and will even play music while you're doing a lab. would highly recommend.
Great teacher and we'll versed in the subject. Can come off abrasive to some people people but it's mostly just him calling people out for not paying attention or talking during class. He has a dry sarcastic sense of humor which I found amusing. Just show up, take notes, speak up every once in a while and you'll be fine. You'll learn a lot!
This man is certainly educated, but the way he treats his students can be so appalling, that it makes class sessions unbearable. He is not reserved enough to hold back his judgements and even announced in class that specific students had failed their exams on multiple occasions. Do not take his class if you do not support this sort of treatment.
Bad attitude toward students but learned alot
It was an absolute pleasure to be in his class. He has a sarcastic sense of humor but you can tell he's a little disappointed in this generation. He wants student to have a good education and it shows, so he gets insulted when people don't take their education seriously (tardies, being on phone, ect). Labs are easy and he even let you make it up.
Participate!!! This is a teacher who truly wants his students to learn about Astronomy. He doesn't "play favorites," he simply expects a lot from his students and doesn't like when students don't study. He's an amazing professor and I would love to take a class of his again. He's so knowledgeable and it makes you want to know more, too.
SINA IS THE MAN! Seriously one of the chillest and most intelligent dudes teaching at Mesa. His class is lot of fun and Sina is always keeping it interesting. If you're interested in learning about the Universe. Take his class, have some fun, and pick his brain. He is the man.
He's unable to maintain professionalism, yet, he accuses students of being unprofessional. Makes derogatory comments about veterans, and is usually belittling the students in his class. Seems to have forgotten why he's a professor, it comes off like he doesn't want to teach. Being a professor is a choice. Students shouldn't be punished.
DO NOT BE LATE. Ask questions for xtra pts, review previous class's material and answer questions he'll ask the next class for review. Show you care and participate and you will be rewarded. He made me want to change my major to astronomy. It's a breath of fresh air to have a professor that is so passionate. Makes astronomy exciting and involves u
You have 11 or so labs that come straight out of the packet. I only used the whole class for one lab; other wise you finish the lab and take off. The labs are easy if you pay attention to the lecture he gives before releasing the lab on you. DO NOT BE LATE. You can only make up 1 excused lab. A on the final if you just study what he tells you.
For a GE Lab course, it is so easy to pass. If you miss more than 1 class (lab), at the end of the semester he allows you to bring in food to be excused for those missed. He cannot maintain professionalism, and you will not learn anything more than his daily rants on the government or politics. Very unhappy with this professor.
Sina is definitely the funniest professor I've ever taken. If you come to class regularly, pay attention, and ask questions, you'll do fine. He's very knowledgeable and will gladly explain something again if you don't understand the first time. Very laid back and easy to get along with as long as you're not a delinquent student. Love him
I got an A just for trying and helping students around me. Just show up and put in the work, it's the easiest class you'll ever take and he guarantees passing grades. Do not look elsewhere if considering this course, Sina knows his stuff and teaches it entertainingly, unlike my Astro lecture prof.
funny guy, but CAN get moody sometimes. Usually answers questions well but sometimes fails to comprehend what I am asking and acts as if I am asking a stupid question while everyone else is thinking the same thing. I probably would only take him for a lab class/other easy class; he is not too comprehensive.
The first day of class he will let you know off top what to expect. As long as you pay attention to the lectures, takes notes, study the notes, and aren't afraid to ask questions than you really shouldn't struggle in this class.
Sina is an entertaining Astronomy professor. Really engages you in the subject. Knows Astro incredibly well. Attend lecture, take great notes and participate and you will get an A. No textbook needed. Participation pointsexam pts. I will say hes pretty forgetful. You kind of have to work around it. A bit Hard Headed too. But a really cool man.
I don't recommend taking this class for GE. He is easily frustrated and is disorganized. His study guides usually were confusing (you're graded mostly by tests). If you're interested in astronomy, you might appreciate how knowledgable he is. But for the most part, he was condescending and had a poor attitude toward students.
He is cool but he gets mad when nobody asks or answers questions. He does give points if you do. He also doesn't really give any assignments which is kind of stressful cause there is barely any opportunity for points. He can also be moody and intimidating.
Ill be honest, I didnt put much effort into this class. This professor is very abrasive and rude when it comes to students learning. If you offer the wrong answer hell respond in a demeaning and condescending tone. However, his tests are fairly straightforward. Study your notes and take down every bit, sometimes he includes obscure info.
This was supposed to be a no meeting times course which is technically was. However, if you didn't join in n the zoom calls you literally would not understand a thing. . However, he is really for all of his students passing and is 100% willing to let you work at receiving a passing grade if you're failing.
Sheesh, one of my favorite professors I've ever had! Very intelligent, and loves to answer questions about any curiosities you may have about our complex universe. 100% recommend for a great semester full of humor and lots of really interesting class sessions. :)
Professor Sadjadi was such a great professor and made this class so much fun. I had dropped Astronomy twice because other professors gave too much homework or weren't as helpful when it came to explaining things but prof Sadjadi has a great way of teaching via zoom!
Going to class and reading the book is the best way to get information for the tests. Theres very little homework but if you get a bad grade on a test and you go to his office hours hes very understanding
Professor Sadjadi is wonderful. He's very open to questions during lectures. Gives extra points sometimes for questions and comments during class. He's passionate about the subject and conveys it in a manner that's easy to understand. If a student has difficulty with something and speaks up he'll explain again. One of the best profs I've ever had!
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. He offered zero help during pandemic. He doesnt know how to use canvas he puts things in the wrong places and he doesnt give any assignments. Class grade is based of off exams and you only get one minute per question on the exams and each exam is about 50 questions. I felt like I was being set up to fail. Awful DO NOT TAKE!
Professor Sadjadi was wonderful and passionate about astronomy. Great professor on a hard subject like astronomy!
I think my experience with this professor was an uncommon one but I felt singled out a lot and he made super passive-aggressive comments to me. I obviously can't say what specifically but I don't think he is an lgbtq+ ally.
70% of your grade is based on tests. You are only given 50 minutes for 50 questions. Exams consist of very challenging in-depth material from the lectures. The pre-exam study guide provided are no help.
Professor Sadjadi is a great professor. He can come across as harsh, but he is really very kind. Answers questions quickly and will do his best to help however he can. Be ready to read a lot and watch long lectures. Everything you will need to know is in the lectures and reading. Don't wait until the last minute to do assignments.
Some weeks consist of 10+ videos while others are only 3. The videos range from 2-15 mins. The only hard part of the class are the exams. There are 50 questions and a 50 min limit. I would recommend going to office hours before exams to help. Write down quiz answers from the weekly videos for the exam as well.
This class was my all-time favorite class for this semester. Professor Sina was amazing, funny and cared for his students. He was always willing to help and accommodate his students. He made the class fun and I would recommend this class to anyone. There is none to very little homework and the labs are very easy and quick.
I took 101 and 109 with Prof Sina and I enjoyed his classes. I learned a lot, and he is truly passionate about the subject matter. He is caring and helpful as long as you take the class seriously and apply yourself (i.e., regular attendance, not being tardy, etc). There can be a lot of lectures, but take notes and you will do well during tests.
The requirements for the class were clear, so if you follow them you can do well. There was a bit of extra credit and the professor seemed very knowledgeable about the subject.
I have never been so disappointed in an educator during my entire academic career. He doesn't have the patience for students who don't understand how to do the lab immediately. Please don't let the positive ratings deceive you. In the class he would often make snide comments at students for not getting things "right" the first time.
Great at teaching, organized, and knowledgeable. He is kind but has some sarcastic attitudes sometimes(didn't bother me). Homework is easy watching videos and answering questions. Exams are exact same questions from homework or come only from his lectures. In lectures hints some exam questions. Extra credit for taking notes and participating.
Great at teaching, organized, and knowledgeable. He is kind but sarcastic sometimes(didn't bother me).Homework is easy: videos and questions. Exams are exact same questions from homework or from lectures only. Gives exam questions hints in lectures. Offers extra credit for taking notes or participating(office hours and emailing him). Overall good.
Aggressive, immature, kept his back turned to me while addressing the rest of the class, positioned himself so he wouldn't be able to see me raise my hand to participate. Used unnecessary words in lecture such as prostitute, jezebel. Walked into my personal space to insinuate drug usage, wrong.
Against veterans, likens military service to camping. Also, belittles combat veterans time in war by saying everyone has shot a gun before. No, ---- camping and shooting a gun at tin cans, a range, out in the woods at an animal, none is similar to being at war.
Professor Sina's AST101 class is well-structured, with organized lectures and easy homework. Exams are challenging but doable if you attend class, take notes, and use study tools like Unstuck ai alongside the textbook. Overall, a rewarding course.
His assignments are clear and you know what your suppose to do weekly. This class is manageable. The lectures have a lot of content but his exams are very short so you never know what's important and what's not (so you're left studying everything). Participation is very important, even in an online setting
Very rude and treats students less than if you are not 100% knowledgeable about 1 term. Recommended for someone who has true passion for astronomy. He's not worth it for that GE course requirement.
