Class is organaized well. Lots of bonus point. Not so easy. But the test is very fair. Homework is important to get the knowledge.

You have to do homework, takes time. You can use notes on test. You better know Act. 101 or your doomed. Very good at teaching her subject. Tons of extra credit.

If you attend her class everyday and do the homework... an "A" will come pretty easily...

The subject is intrinsically difficult, not her teaching method. She's awesome. I like that she emphasizes homework because, quite frankly, you're not going to learn accounting without doing it. She's fair, knowledgeable, and approachable; not mean. A+

If you didn't understand acct 1, don't take acct 2. She is clear, fair, and knows her s**t. She is a nice woman and will teach you what you need to know, but if you are a slacker, yer in trouble. Do the homework, go to class, you'll be fine.

TAKE ACCOUNTING 1 FIRST! If you don't you're at a severe disadvantage here. She's VERY good and VERY knowledgeable about her material. If you want to get an A in acct, she's the best choice this school has to offer by far. There is a TON of homework, which takes a long time, but it's for credit.

The best Accounting 2 teacher at the school

She is an awesome teacher. She is funny and makes the class go by fairly easy. She also allows one page of notes for her exams. you have to make sure to do the homework. she gives out LOTS of extra credit participation points based on the homeowork.

She is, hands down, THE best accounting teacher at the school. I repeat: THE BEST accounting teacher at the school. If you don't take her, you ARE AT A DISADVANTAGE. She's very fair, VERY clear, VERY knowledgeable, AND she cares. How often do you come across that? Listen, just TAKE HER.

Anyone who has anything bad to say about Ms. Chung is either a poor student, or thinks a prof is good because he/she gives an easy A. No, you have to earn your grade with her, but she gives you every opportunity to do so. Further, she REALLY cares about her work, and can't stand those who don't. A+

I had Mrs. Chung for Accounting 1 in the summer. Mind you this cousrse can be divided into two regular semesters and yet with no back round in accouting and no interest at all. I got a B in her class. She not only is very clear and helpfull but gives you and oppertunity to recieve bonus points. A+

One of the best professors I've ever had. She's knows her stuff and wants you to know the material too. She runs an organized, yet lighthearted class, which is hard to find when majoring in business. You will have to work for that a, but she's awesome!

If u plan on slaking don't bother taking with her. She is knows her stuff and is good at teaching, prepare to do yo hw and study as she will not just give it to u on spoon but she will teach what you need to succed in the next acct class. She's a fair professor. There is weekly homework, four tests (lowest dropped), and the final. You definitely have to study for the class and keep up with the reading and assignments.

Super-cool lady! She talks fast, but u get used to it after a week or 2. Bring book to class & takes notes. She tells u what's on tests. Go to class, get bonus points & do bonus project (it's easy, but some work involved). A lot of homework! Need to study 3-5 hrs a wk for an A or B. She is a very cool teacher, you learn a lot from this class, lots of bonus points that can boost your grade up, her quizez are hard & tricky but if you pay attention to the class and do all the homework you won't have any problems, highly recommended teacher. Very fair & nice.

I took two of her classes and think that she is the BEST. She is there to teach and she does it well. If you don't want to learn and just slide through a class take gym. Like they say for every hour you are in an college class expect 2 hours of homework. Not an easy class but well worth it. I think she is the best!!!

Ms Chung can teach accounting extremely well. She is thorough and straight to the point.Homework is crucial to survive in this class.She offers bonus points for participation and for completing extra homework. Ms. Chung is very knowledgable - she knows her stuff. She likes to pretend that her exams are hard - but trust me, they are some of the easiest tests I've taken at Valley. All you need to do is read the book and do the homework - nothing more. If you do this and you're not completely retarded, you'll get an A in the class.

Ms. Chung was a delight as a teacher. Her humor and good nature made taking a very difficult accelerated class possible. She did the one thing most teachers don't have the talent to do; she turned the entire class into a single unit working together for the benefit of the whole. Bravo and thanks.

Hands down thee best Accounting Teacher in the world! Her class is easy if you pay attention. Fair and funny, sweet as hell too. She's all I needed for Accounting 1 and 2. She'll scare you the first couple of weeks, but all she's doing is weeding out the weak.

This class was INTENSE! I took it over summer (5 credits squished into 8 week- half the tnormal time). She gave 4 tests and she drops the lowest grade. The final exam is cummulative. She gives LOTS of opportunities for extra credit. I only needed a D on the final to get and A in the class becuase of all the extra credit I did. Follow her rules.

She's a sweet person! A+ She really drills the material into you. I think her accent and personality helped me remember the material better. She is very caring and tries very hard. Goes over everything in class. My only suggestion to her is stop using the book provided sheets, scratch paper's fine. Also I'd like hand-written problems on exam.

Lots of extra credit, drops lowest grade, drops lowest hw score. Homework is done online on WileyPlus (extra credit). Sometimes, she allows you to use a cheat sheet, one full page (handwritten, not typed). She's a CPA so she's very detail-oriented and expects her students to be the same. Took her VCAP class for acct2 and took her regular acct1. Excellent teacher, but def. not easy. Class is very structured and straight forward; she goes over homework and lecture every class. She allows for cheat sheets and tons of extra credit. Do all the hw and you will ace the class. Highly recommend for accounting majors.

She explain things clearly and to the point. She give you plenty of opportunities to do well in her class. She drops the lowest test and homework score. Gives lots of extra credit (especially Wiley and bonus quizzes). I got B's on my tests and I need a flat C- to get an A in the class which I did. Very helpful professor. :)

A lot of homework and selfstudy work should be done and you need to attend,fully participate and be involved to the class to get bonus points which will help you to get higher grade.4 test,she is dropping lowest, 10 homework assignment must be done, final. The classes are a lot of hard work but she is a great teacher overall. She always offers help and extra credit opportunities. This IS COLLEGE so some of the studying is left up to you but shes very approchable and genuinely concerned about her students.

There was a lot of extra credit, and the online homework program Wileyplus pretty much makes it so you can get perfects on the homework. The tests are pretty easy, no surprises. She's really nice and helpful. Showing up in the beginning is pretty important cause you lose your seat if you don't show up.

Siu Chung is strict and lives by her moral code. She is fair. Anyone who disagrees is just salty. WARNING: her class is hard but I learned a lot. Yes, she is demanding. You do have to come to class(by the way it earns you extra points). You do have to complete all the homework on time. If you listen the lectures, and do he assigned homework, you will pass with a good grade. The lectures are very informative and clear. Questions are welcome. Strict but great professor.

If you want to pursue a career in accounting, she is the one. I recently finished my B.S in Acct. at CSUN and I am now a working professional. Her stuff is practical and preps you for the career. Warning: this class is labor intensive, so if you have time constraints and can't commit, take it with a lighter course load.

Professor Chung is one of the best professors I've had in LAVC. She has a clear way of grading and provides a lot of extra "bonus points", she also has a lot of patience with the students that don't understand the material. I personally learned a lot on her class. Homework and reading the book are a must.

Pretty good overall. She gives a couple solid tips on dealing with the complications of accounting. Good details on what to expect on testes. I would have appreciated a little more lecture time and less administrative tasks. The homework system is tedious, too much time spent writing and checking homework that is more efficiently done online.

A lot of hw (online & written), but you learn by repetition, right? 3 chapters and a test each week. LOTS of extra credit to "boost" you up a grade. This is 2nd accounting class and I both times it has been hard, expecially during the summer semester. Professor Chung is a really great teacher. Things were really busy because we only met a few weeks, but she made sure everyone was keeping up and learning along the way. Thank you for a great class.

Solid class for Covid-19 accounting 1. The lectures, if looked over carefully, will give you what you need to get a good grade. Professor Chung was responsive if in her emails. The workload never gets too bad but, time management is important, you want to spread the work out during the week.

She went out of her way to ensure student success, including emailing the publisher for extensions on textbook trials . She requested feedback from students to make sure that they felt supported by her (including when her office hours should be). Do all the homework and quizzes on time, collect as many points possible. There's even extra credit! (:

She is one of the best teachers I have had. Taken her dying online pandemic. You must be able to be available at least 12hrs a week to do homework and study. Quizzes and test our time so you will need to understand to pass.. quizzes and test are easy because it is what you do on the homework.

Uses an online platform that made learning easy to follow. Professor was always accessible by email and tried to make her office hours as accessible as possible for most student schedules. Learned a lot from the class.

Professor Chung knows her stuff and knows how to communicate very effectively. It's a 5 unit course but she breaks it into manageable segments. Course was asynchronous but she had accessible office hours and was very responsive via email. HIGHLY recommend her and this class for everyone. Literally everyone - you can learn valuable information.

From Chapter 1-6 get ready to fully understand and take your time and practice time management. From Chapter 7 -11 its crunch time a lot of new material and quizzes at every weekend to Monday. Take as much notes possible and create a key for equations and always watch the lectures and show me how videos. This class hard work pays off.

Professor Chung is amazing. Her Acct 1 course is a great introductory course for anyone looking to major in Accounting/Finance or just to gain insight into the field. She utilizes the Cengage platform for all work and quizzes. I loved doing the work because we get to apply what we learned from the chapters to real world acct problems. Recommended!

I would take one of her classes again in a heart beat. I loved that she sent out reminders every week reminding students what was due. She did everything possible to avoid students falling behind. The material was not hard, you just need to read the book and do the homework.

Exceptional! Refreshing! This is what it is all about...LEARNING, clear direction, understanding the expectations, and having access to the Professor. Professor Chung ensured that we had all of these items and more. The class is challenging, and you MUST do your part, but she makes herself available because she cares and wants students to succeed.

Took online ACCTG 001 with Professor Chung for the 1st 8 weeks of Spring 24; requires Cengage with plenty of Check My Works and "Show Me How" Vids. Accounting is 50/50 in difficulty, but master time manage and give your all. I advise using Brainly and other outside sources but don't cheat. She's a rose that never stops blossoming, I will miss her.

Professor Chung's ACCTG001 is a challenging but rewarding course. Stay on top of readings, take detailed notes, and utilize study tools like Unstuck study to succeed. Lectures are clear and the professor is very helpful.

Online 8-week accelerated but great platform used for homework, quizzes, and tests. Great if you are a visual learner as this class can be challenging. The professor grades quickly and provides good feedback. Amazing communication! LOTS of homework/quizzes so be ready to put in the work and don't drop the ball. I would take her class again!

GREAT Professor. I've never had a professor who gives a lot of quick feedback. She responds to her emails within a day, provides numerous resources, and offers so much support to pass. She does daily announcements and sends you daily emails to not to forget to do the assignment that is due. I 100% recommend taking her.
