Great guy
Hard grader
he was unhelpful and mean
I found that "Skip" is a really nice guy and if you make the effort to get help he will, but the book that we used in this Statistics class was awful. All we did was just do work from this workbook and he rarely explained anything... Good Luck!
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS YOU WILL DO POORLY
the class is cool but you have to learn the material on your own that's not good dont take the class
Dr. Allis is a GREAT teacher...made everything clear and was clear on how he grades! i would definately reccomend him!!
Great Teacher!
He's a great teacher that is very willing to give help. The class is easy if you go to him when you have questions.
Worst teacher I have had at Elon. Do not take his class no matter what you do.
Great teacher. Wants to help you to the fullest extent. Take advantage of his kindness.
He is a great person and cares a lot about his students understanding the information. However, the class is REALLY boring, with the occasional corny joke there. Definately a no for 8 am - trust me!
Very good teacher. Explains things well. His grading is a little tough though. Quizes twice a week from homework and simple projects are good opportunities to boost your grade from the tough tests. Does plenty of examples.
Really nice and good at explaning things, will help you a lot if you go to him and ask about the homework or anything else...best class I had this semester.
Seriously hated this prof. If you are not a math person and don't understand things easily, DO NOT take him for Stats. He expected us to be able to understand everything he said at all times and didn't explain things well. I went to tutoring CONSTANTLY. Not helpful when you had a problem/issue.
No. Why was he talking about squirels the whole time? I am not so sure myself.
Dr. Skip is a great teacher and a great guy. He practically goes out of his way to ensure that his students are successful. He explains things very clearly also. He can get a little boring, but then agian, it is math
i think hatred is the correct word. stay away.
Dr. Allis is department chair, but do not expect him to let you into any full classes, regardless of your situation!
Ok, so Discrete Mathematics isn't everybody's cup of tea, and induction proofs kinda suck, btu he's a great professor
not cool. not helpful. looks at you like you're retarded.
Very nice, explains until everyone understands. available outside of class. small amounts of homework.
Good teacher. Explains everything well in class and only explains it once in class. However if you go to his office hours, he is very helpful and will help you in any way possible. You just have to make the first move to help yourself if you dont understand
great professor! not alot of homework...every two days...5 problems?? tests aren't too bad...studying required...office hours are great and really help! pretty fast paced class
He's a nice guy but he will put you to sleep in class!! He is very boring and monotone. Material isn't difficult, just make sure you do the assignments even though he doesn't collect them!!
ugh, this man is ridiculous. really didn't help at all during class, made calc 2 way harder than necessary. not a big fan at all.
Great teacher, really knows the material. Conveys the information in class well, and is always available for help outside of class. Minimal homework, however it must be done! If you don't you wont do well in the class. 4 tests throughout the semester not counting the final, difficult tests, but can be handled with some studying.
He is a nice guy, his tests are hard, but he is always willing to help you. Attend class and make an effort on the homework. If you're not understanding something, ask for help, don't just let it go, because his tests can be difficult. Do a lot of problems from the book in order to study.
I don't get how people say he's mean, although he will get irritated if someone asks a stupid question repeatedly. His class is difficult, but mathematics isn't for everyone. His encouragement and the class are some of the reasons why I plan on majoring in maths. He's VERY helpful if you just ask, and gives great examples. Hard tests, though.
Awesome Teacher!! I would recommend him any day!! He is very helpful and always enthusiastic about what is going on in class!! His test are pretty hard but he prepares you well for them!
He's awesome, one of my favorite professors at Elon. He's also very helpful, utilize his office hours. Very enjoyable to have as a professor!
Best math teacher I've ever had
He breaks things down to the smallest level and tests are managable. He is a good Calc professor who knows his stuff.
I had Dr. Allis for MTH 121 and I struggled a lot in it, but I went to his office hours regularly. What is different about his teaching style is that he really wants you to have a deeper understanding, not just be able to solve a problem, but understand it. I then had him for Calc 2 and absolutely loved him. He is so helpful! Use his office hours.
Very clear, goes slow enough for you to understand even if you've never taken calc, always available for help, class attendance is mandatory but i recommend going, very fair with his expectations on tests/hwk etc, excellent math teacher i would def recommend taking him if you have the chance.
If you don't want to learn and have a miserable time in math take this professor.
He's a nice person, but grades unevenly and doesn't give very good "leading" questions if you're trying to get help from him. Expects you to write proofs like a pro at the end of the class, and is an extremely hard grader.
I didn't learn much in his class. I tried, but he made us do so much on our own after the first couple weeks, I was practically trying to teach myself. Take a different professor for Math Reasoning, or you'll hate it more than you should.
Skip Allis was a great professor for calculus. I had already taken calculus in high school so I basically already knew what I was doing, but even if I didn't, he went very slowly through everything and explained everything fully. He was always checking to make sure everyone was following and understanding what he was saying.
Great Guy, moves slowly enough for everyone to understand. Very clear about what you need to know for tests. Definitely recommend him.
Hes the man. His class is hard as balls though dont take it if you dont have to.
Some people thought he was difficult, but if you go to every class (attendance is not required) then it is fairly easy if you don't fall behind. He gives out study guides before each test which are really helpful, and he's always willing to stop and help you if you are unsure of anything.
Dr. Allis is a great teacher. He's very thorough and straightforward without moving too slow, always helpful and available, grades pretty fairly, and follows a set schedule. I definitely recommend him if you need to take calculus.
He's such a caring teacher. Some professors dont care if you sink or swim but he does a lot. Go to his office hours and spend as much time as you can on the material. You will do fine! Ask as many questions as you can and he's patient. I wish I can take him again but I'm no math major.
Not a great teacher. His classes are BORING but he cares about the subject. But he did not teach well at ALL.
This professor tries very hard to make mathematics subjective. He is very unclear on what is expected from you and focuses on easy, unimportant things in class, but assigns harder homework and exams that he grades harshly or inconsistently.
Hard class, but skip always helped me out when i had trouble. He did grade homework a little inconsistently, but i found his tests much easier than the homework. He will not give you the numerical answers to questions, but will make you figure it out. I would recommend him for math and science people.
terrific teacher, no attendance policy and tests are straight forward. i did well in the class. i also went to the tutoring center for hw which got me a 100 on my homework grade which is a nice portion of your grade!!
Really nice guy and very helpful if you need it. Cares weather you do well or not. His class is not crazy easy but if you study for the tests and do your homework you will be fine. All homework is due on monday from the previous week and class is not too boring.
Very helpful teacher. Explains concepts really well. Very necessary to attend class. Makes the subject matter interesting.
Skip is obsessed with derivatives and that just might be Calculus but after day 2 of derivatives you are sick of them. Of the examples he does in class, half are hard. He assumes that everyone has taken Calculus in high school. When asking for help on homework he does not give a straight forward answer which makes it hard understand him.
I understand that Calculus is tough, but Skip didn't help that. He assigned work and didn't really go over what was on it unless you came to office hours, and even then he barely helped he would make "similar situations" to the problems. He's a nice guy, but not a helpful professor.
Good guy, terrible teacher. Took Calc in high school thought it was interesting here and easy. His use of mathematical makes the class impossibly difficult and you do not learn anything. Test are take home but still impossible. Attendance not mandatory, no homework or quizzes. If you're looking for no work hes your guy. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HIM
Might not be the most fun class but thats expected with calculus. Willing to help you if you ask questions in class or in office hours. Very understanding and generally wants to help you succeed. Lets you rework problems on tests to get credit back
I'm appalled the University hired such an under underqualified and incompetent teacher. Don't get me wrong, the man is INCREDIBLY smart, but he is hands down the worst teacher that I have ever had. He is not helpful what so ever and his class was probably the worst thing I have yet to experience. He really sucks.
Skip was a horrific teacher. He does not explain anything and his tests are next to impossible. When you email him he responds with vague and rude answers. His class is incredibly boring and all he does is put problems up and expect you to understand them. Shocked that he is still a professor and I regret taking his class. Definitely avoid.
This class should be called Mathematica 451 instead of Calculus. His idea of teaching is "showing" you how to use a pointless computer program that will never help you outside of the class. Worst teacher I have had so far without a doubt.
THE WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD
I have Skip Allis as my statistics teacher and he has no idea what he is doing. DO NOT TAKE ANY OF HIS CLASSES NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO
Dr. Allis is one of the best math teachers I have ever had. He is very clear in what he expects from his students, but does grade his tests hard. He does not assign much homework and much of it is online. He is incredibly funny and kind, I go to his office hours just to talk to him!
Would not recommend Skip. He used a computer program for stats, making it very confusing. He expects a lot from you on tests and if you do not phrase things the right way, he marks it wrong. Avoid him if possible.
Skip is not only an amazing professor but he is an awesome person. He will explain anything you don't understand as many times as you need him to, he honors office hours and he seriously wants you to understand math and to succeed in his class. He is helpful, understanding, charismatic and incredibly smart. He is one of my favorite professors!
Nice guy, but lazy teacher. Comes into class consistently 5 minutes late. Often because he never finished grading our homework from a week before. He wants you to understand, but really is not great at explaining material. Do no expect a whole lot of feedback on assignments as well. Office hours would be the best time for this if you want any.
Allis believes that students are too reliant on the correct answer, so he won't tell you the answer, yet expects them on his test. Grades really hard and makes an easy class difficult. All tests require a written explanation for your answer. Helpful if you go to office hours.
Skip is a great professor. However, do not expect his class to be the usual math class you took in high school. He cares more about you explaining how you got to your answer than the answer itself. I have always hated math but I feel like this class really taught me things. I would take him again even though he IS a harsh grader.
Skip is not a good teacher. He's rude and disrespectful. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!! His class is literally the weirdest thing I have ever taken. Such a waste of time.
Skip is an amazing professor. He does have a different teaching style - he wants you to understand stats, not memorize a dozen equations. He will always be available outside of class if you need anything and is always willing to explain anything you don't understand. TAKE HIS CLASS, I am not a math person and I really enjoyed his class. Skip cares!
In all my years of schooling I have never had a professor who cares less than Skip. On the days that he was not cancelling class ten minutes beforehand (or AS CLASS WAS STARTING), he was showing up ten to fifteen minutes late, and leaving not twenty minutes later. He once yelled at me for asking a question and then sweat through the rest of class.
Skip has an imaginative way of teaching. He is very inconclusive, and does not explain what he is searching for in an answer to a test.
One of the worst teachers I have ever had. He would not teach. Showed up late everyday. Class was pointless. Went in for help once and he gave me the wrong answer to the problem. Took a call for his cats when helping me. Wasted enough time that I could not finish the explanation on how he did the problem so I couldn't find his mistake. DO NOT TAKE.
If you have Skip, STOP reading, and switch to another stats class. Skip not only does not fully explain the work/ notes he gives, but he also does not care to help. If you do not word your test exactly how he likes do not expect credit. He acts as if everyone is as smart as him so he wastes no time going over sections twice.
DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS. There were several times this semester where he has done nothing but berate the class, even throwing someone out once for saying they don't understand. His grading is very skewed, and will explain things one way, but grade them the other. Whatever you do, do not take his class.
Literally the WORST TEACHER EVER. He freaks out in the middle of class and is not accommodating at all regarding students needs. He does not care about his students and makes the tests impossible to do well on. He is very particular about how he wants things and it's his way or the highway. Please save yourself and don't take his class!!
do not take this class. If you are assigned into it, get out now. Skip tells you to ask questions, and when you do, he tells you its a stupid question and that you should already know that. If you do not already know any stats, run. Also he is an extremely tough grader, and will take points away for the smallest things.
He teaches well, class work outside of class is light. Tests are clear.
I'm currently taking Math 151 with Skip Allis and instead of studying for our test tomorrow I'm writing this because I'm completely clueless. This class sucks, and I should have withdrawn when I had the chance.
Skip was a decent professor, to be honest, he didn't care if you were there or not. He likes students who ask questions and that aren't afraid to ask questions. He's very odd but caring as well. he will test and grade hard though. i had 4 hw assignments all off the computer and could take it 1000 times and still get an A but the test is very hard!!
Had to buy a textbook but rarely used it, tests were graded in a somewhat timely manner, but you could never see what you got wrong in order to improve. Hes not the greatest with putting assignments online by the time he said he would, which was pretty annoying.
Skip Allis is truly something else. He teaches everything in his own bizarre way, and takes off points if you do it a different, logical way and still get the right answer. If you've never been exposed to any type of Calculus prior to this course, you're in for a real treat and should probably quit while you're ahead.
This class is brutal. The way he teaches makes little to no sense if you have not taken calculus before. He is disorganized and the due dates are scattered and changed often. He wants you to ask questions and then gets annoyed when you do.
If you want to feel stupid whenever you walk into a classroom, take this class. Skip's teaching style and grading process is unusual and unfair. If you raise your hand and are confident about an answer, he immediately shuts you down. also, Skip chooses favorites...I am not one.
does not explain topics at all, if you haven't taken calc before you will not understand, even if you have you might not. The way he try to explain does not make sense and you are forced to try and figure it out in the exact way he wants or it will be wrong. He says he wants you to ask questions but every time you do he talks down to you
I took calc in high school and this class made me even more confused. He talks a lot and all he ever asks the class is "are we good?" He expects you to already know a lot of things even if you have never taken calc prior to his class. His corrections on homework and tests are confusing and do not help you to understand what you are doing wrong.
Drop immediately. Super unclear and teaches in a weird way that doesn't help you understand anything.
Dr. Allis is a sweet guy and very kind. His lectures however are a little slow. I'm not sure if this was because it was STS110 and it is very basic or if the way he taught it just stretched it out. In class, he is often late to assign things/post grades and his organizational skills need improvement. His tests are graded harshly compared to others.
I had Dr. Allis during the Spring of 2020 so it was during corona. In person class wasn't great, but he showed no mercy during online distance learning. At one point he said he was fully going to stop answering emails about questions the class had. He's a super tough grader and unclear about expectations. I strongly do not recommend.
i would rate him 0 if i could. he doesn't teach the material, then grades harshly and doesn't explain what you did wrong. it's currently MAY and i'm still waiting for him to post grades from FEBRUARY. when i would ask him for clarification on assignments, he would just say "you know what to do."
If you are reading this, DO NOT take a class with Dr. Allis! I can say with confidence he is one of the worst professors at Elon. When classes went online, he was so unsympathetic. He did not respond to any of my emails regarding class material. Not to mention, on the last day of class he had none of our major assignments graded.
Do not take Allis if you can help it. He's extremely unorganized, forgetful, and takes forever to grade. Seriously, he opens his emails with "Late as usual." Material is also unclear, even math-y people were lost. Apart from this, he's just unsympathetic & doesn't care about his students' personal lives or who they are as people.
Skips class is not worth the frustration. I am a freshman and things are just starting to barely return to normal. I imagined his teaching would become a lot better since I can attend class IN PERSON. I have learnt one thing from his class. He is late every class and says it's embarrassing for him as if that justify's him being late. Thanks Skip.
One of the most unorganized and worse professors I have ever had. Talks to you like 8 graders, doesn't try to explain to you when you are wrong, just flat out embarrasses you. Learned nothing in his class. He takes forever to grade things, puts things on the homework we didn't learn. He is always late, would not recommend this class to anyone.
Good luck! Want any help outside of class, go talk to your friends, they are more helpful. Do not miss class, you will be beyond lost. Every homework counts and he grades it harshly. He grades so slowly and doesn't fully explain anything.
Honestly, the worst professor I've ever had at Elon. When you go into ask for extra help, he refuses to help you. He will not help you with the steps he tries to teach you in class, he's confusing, the slowest grader, and shows up late half the time. He won't even remember you for when he gives test in 2nd floor of the Belk Library. Happens to most
This is the worst professor at Elon. He is late to class almost every day, doesn't grade anything in a timely manner, doesn't give good feedback and his lectures are confusing. DO NOT take this class! He doesn't use a book or PowerPoint but expects you to understand his confusing lectures. His grading style is a Joke- good luck with that!
If you guys want to learn nothing and have him grade your assignments confusingly and harshly take this guy's class. Directions are not clear and you will be punished because of it
Most disrespectful person. If you ask him for help, he treats you terribly, and he talks down to you. Dont even bother joining his office hours. He sits on his couch barely even talking to you.He treated me with such disrespect and said something completely inappropriate and hurtful to me to the point where I had to go to the head of the department.
Takes weeks to grade tests, and seems to fail everyone. Ive never cried over a professor before until him. He makes you feel so dumb for asking questions. He asked me if I even had a brain. He said my questions were the dumbest things hes ever heard. Oh and he complains to the class about his depression.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. IF U WANT TO CRY EVERY NIGHT THEN THIS IS FOR YOU. HE IS A TERRIBLE PERSON. MOST DISRESPECTFUL PROF TO EXIST. idk how he still works here tbh.
I have never had such a disrespectful professor. Don't even bother going to office hours because he won't help you. He raised his voice at me for asking about the wording of a question on the homework. He takes forever to grade and is very unfair about it. Avoid taking his class if possible.
Right off of the bat, there is no effort to connect with students or learn names. While classes are boring, he doesn't take attendance and the content itself is easy. Usually 2 homework assignments a week with multiple days to complete. There is so much extra credit, and only 3 tests. Both the final and midterm were just some easy form of a project
easy class. he goes really slow through material and it's not difficult to understand. has no interest in conversing with students but does a good job of teaching.
Class was easy to understand if you go to the lectures, but I also have taken stats in HS so I might be biased. Lots of the lecturing is repetitive but he just wants to help students understand. All tests were taken in the library on our own time. Final is a group project so make sure you find good people in your class for a group.
My experience with Skip was boring, but informational. All these other ratings I don't think do him much justice. Yes, he's a boring guy. His class just drags on and on. The guy would just show up late half the time. But, as someone who wasn't taken a math class in two years and never took a stats class, he was very repetitive in his lectures.
Professor Allis is a relatively easy teacher. He assigns a normal amount of homework. He is very lenient about attendance. The only thing is he goes very slow and repeats things a lot. He is very kind and he likes when students answer his questions in class. You are able to be on your computer.
Attendance is not mandatory and he doesn't take it but we did in class assignments. You could stare at your computer screen the whole time. Not a hard class by any means, but also kind of a waste of time.
Skip's class is so beyond easy, but he is just miserable and rude. He sets up his students on purpose. Tests are taken unsupervised in the library, but DO NOT CHEAT HE WILL FIND OUT AND FAIL YOU. He seems to enjoy scaring students. I suggest taking this class for an easy A as long as you are aware of what he tries to do to trick students.
Take Skip's class if you want unclear directions and grading criteria on top of extremely harsh grading and few assignments.
Lecture heavy courses where info is repeated constantly and it is hard to focus. Tests and projects are graded with minimal feedback so it is hard to understand what to work on. I am coming out of this class unable to recall any information of what I learned.
The worst professor I have ever had. He is a poor communicator gets frustrated in class and is late on grading. Professor Allis has very difficult to understand instructions and is the toughest grader when it comes to following his terrible instructions.
It is very hard for him to engage me because he is very monotone and just talks the whole time. He is always late to class. The actual content is easy and not heavy at all which is the only pro, but because he is a boring professor, I do not learn.
One of if not the worst professors I've ever had. He never grades stuff on time so you never know how you're doing in the class. Very lecture heavy class, so it is very boring, and hard to follow. The material is not that hard, but the way he teaches I do not learn anything. I would not recommend him as a professor.
This is definitely the worst teacher I have ever had. He was very cold and short with his students. There must have been something wrong.
Won't have tests graded until the class before the next test so you won't know how well you studied until it's too late. Calls on students to do more and complains about grading poor tests, but rarely shows up on time to class. He expects the most from his students when doing the least himself. Will never cut you slack even when sick. Stay away!
Rude and unhelpful.
Terrible. Worst professor! Don't expect him to respect your time at all. "Skip" is an appropriate nickname considering he was not on time for class a single time. don't expect your grades back within the century, and be prepared to deal with a grumpy old man who hates himself. Oh I also got 20% on my assignment due on the same day my dad died! Slay
probably the worst professor I've had. He's rude to girls in the class, he's 15-40 minutes late every class, and has anger issues. He doesn't grade anything with any urgency, he doesn't hesitate to critique but what you attempt to fix he says is still wrong. He gives horrible directions if any on tests and projects, and barely talks during lecture
I took Skips course on a whim because it was the only section available when I was picking my classes. Needless to say, I regret my actions. He's a VERY slow grader...by the time our second test date rolled around, he had given us less than 24 hours to review our first test and see what we did wrong. I would never pick him as a prof. again.
I would not recommend anyone take his class. He does not teach and complains the whole tine. You wont receive any assignments back as he grades so slow. He is always late to class and somehow blamed it on the students. He grades harsh and is rude and not afraid to call you a failure. His tests were hard as the material was not taught. Stay Away!
Starting out my first semester of college with him was horrible. I do not recommend anyone to take him for any of his classes. He has yelled at girls in my class, has never showed up on time, goes over everything once and if you miss it he does not care. He takes forever to grade, and his grading doesn't even make sense! AVOID HIS CLASS!!!!!
Circus class, not worth the stress. He has good sides but is ruined by his own dysfunction. For Discrete, not a bad choice since the class is probably easier than with other professors.
I took discrete structures with skip. I only showed up to class for tests. He provided great notes that I could easily self study outside of class. He really made the material as easy as possible. I learned a lot in the class and worked hard to earn an A. I'd definitely take a class with Skip again.
Probably the worst professor I have had at Elon. He is rude, does not want to know you, and is difficult if not impossible to reach out of class, if you do reach him, be ready for a rude response. I won't say he was a bad teacher or his class was bad, but I know I will retain almost none of what we learned. Why people like him teach I do not know.
Awful teacher, does not allow for any retakes with the reason of "I dont have time to regrade". Take any other professor if possible
He makes extremely hard test, for not really teaching the material. He did not give us anything to help with studying for the final, not even what type of problems will be on the final. He is extremely hard to reach outside of class, and if you get a response it is usually crabby. Oh and I learned more from someone sitting next to me, than Skip.
I'm not sure why people are hating on Skip so much. I found his lectures to be informative (although maybe a little boring/slow). He cares about his students and checks in during lectures by asking: "Everyone okay?". I can see how his tests can be challenging but if you study his notes you should be fine. Overall good professor in my experience.
if you wanna fail, take his course. he puts you to sleep and makes no sense, I was constantly confused and never felt comfortable talking to him.
Avoid Skip's class at all costs - a monotone lecturer who's always late, harsh grader, and unhelpful. Thankfully, unstuckstudy and other study tools helped me get through this tough course.
Boring, repetitive, not clear in grading.
I was terrified of taking his class after reading the terrible reviews on his page, but I am 3 weeks into his class and he is a very nice guy. He is never late, he makes sure you understand the material before he moves on, and he wants you to ask questions and understand the material.
Skip is a fine professor. Yes, he is frequently late to class and he's a slow grader. Even so, he wants all his students to do well and will make things easy for you as long as you listen and participate in class.
super awkward guy, class was easy though. he wasn't a great teacher but he was understanding about stuff. light work, just not a high quality learning experience
Genuinely, do not take with him if you can help it. During my class, he would make students unbearable uncomfortable. After one time he yelled at one student in class for five minutes straight, I did not go to class for two weeks. Of course when I came back, he had to point it out to the whole class.
This was the worst professor I've had while being at Elon... talk about a professor who is so unprofessional, shows up every class late, very unclear grader, clearly doesn't have any care for any of his students, takes forever to grade work. If I caught on to how bad of a professor this man was earlier I would've withdrawn from the class.
I could say quite alot about this guy, but I am choosing not to. This is my first time ever writing a rate my professor review because he was that bad. All I will say is if you have the chance, PLEASE do not take him. I'm so glad it's over.
NEVER. Take. this. mans. class. He never has time for you, never replies to emails and apologizes for the same thing everyday. only good thing abt the class is its not mandatory attendance but if u miss once just drop it at that point. pls if u have the time do NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!! so much homework, horrible at feedback. just doesn't care abt you!
Worst teacher I've ever had. Homework due basically every class, you have 3 tests and he takes months to grade them. All he does is lecture and they are so incredibly boring. Shows up late all the time. Horrible teacher, only good thing is he doesn't take attendance, so you can just skip whenever. Fade Skip if you want to do well in Stats.
AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS. Throughout the entire 15 weeks of class he didn't grade ANYTHING until the day before grades were due, ignoring all emails and even leaving things UNGRADED. Doesn't even matter if you do the work BECAUSE HE WILL NEVER GRADE IT.
Avoid this professor, even if you're a good student. Class itself is not hard but he is always very behind on grading, and never graded 7 of our assignments that were supposed to be graded.
Avoid this professor regardless of how smart you are. Overall an easy class with easy content and he is okay at teaching, it's his other areas that are an issue. Late to class often, behind on grading (by weeks), and fell asleep in class during our final graded presentations. Hard to reach outside of class. DO NOT TAKE!
He is almost always late to class, his rubrics can be unclear, but overall he is a nice guy and will make sure everybody understands the material. Not a difficult class.
Skip teaches very slowly which he explained is to make sure everyone understands every concept properly. We ended up not getting through the entire curriculum in the course which sucks. His class was awkward because he asks pretty confusing questions then waits for someone to answer. He has good intentions but fails to deliver as a good professor.
