Very thorough, a good teacher
wonderful knowledgable teacher, fair, clear and interesting!
Very knowledgeable, organized, and clear. All notes needed are on WebCT, book not even required. Tests are hard because she expects you to learn everything in her notes with no review. Tests, quizzes and a small project are all online. Only the lab tests are written (and difficult as well). She curves accordingly though- good thing!
She is very thorough, and tough but an excellent professor. There are no easy grades in her class but you will definitely know your stuff when you are done with her class. I highly recommend Dr. Desai.
Great Teacher. All Information is on WEBCT. It is all clear and straightforward. You work hard and you will get hte grade. If you need help she is there in person or via email. She knows the information and can teach it very well. Highly recommend! You can not get any better! Wish I had a instructor like her in every class!
Dr. Desai is an excellent teacher. I had her for A&P I and II, and Microbiology. If you want to understand the subjects and are willing to do the work and study, you will do excellent in her class.
Very knowledgeable and respectful instructor. She is genuinely interested in making sure that you understand the material. Tests are very difficult and she expects about 20 hours study time for each, so make sure you have time. However, she does curve fairly on lecture and lab tests. Do the little easy assignments for extra credit as well.
Dr. Desai was a very good A&P prof. She gave many chances to gain bonus points. She gives reviews that have the majority of the information you need to know for the test. I just made flash cards from the reviews and did well on all of them. She's also good about only teaching you the material you need to know and cutting out the rest. Take her!
I took her for A&P I and II. She's an awesome teacher, but she does expect a constant state of studying. Be sure to use everything she puts on WebCT! Great at cutting out info that's not necessary.
I wasn't too crazy about her.. she was VERY nice but I never got a real understanding of the material but maybe that was just me. I took alot of notes but when I would study I never really knew what I was studying! Nothing ever seemed too clear for me and I was left always feeling a little confused. I also never knew what to expect on exams...
Dr. Desai is a very intelligent professor. She tries her best to help you in every way to learn the material, come to her office hours and you will not be lost. I rarely came to class, but she would never be mad, she'd still try to help me catch up. Use your Physio Ex CD on the back of the text book and you'll be fine for Bio II. Gives Extra Credit
Dr. Desai knows her A&P. Her lectures are fast paced and everything she covers is important. Notes are available on WebCT, but I would only use them as an outline for the class lectures. Her tests are HARD, but she gives alot of oppurtunity for extra credit, and that helped ALOT!!!
shes nice and trys to help, but cant understand her and her notes have no stucture but her tests are impossible. at the beginning of semester her class was full, there is still 2 months left and only 6 in my class.
She is a very smart teacher she knows her stuff which makes the class hard cause she expects us to be on her level and the test are VERY hard! she helps out alot and trys to bring grades up with extra credit. you can pass the class but you have to study very hard and really pay attention.
If your intention is to gain knowledge in A&P, Dr Desai is the way to go. B4 you get yourself into such exhaustive class, keep in mind: U have to STUDY HARD. It says in her syllabus - CRITICAL THINKING is vital - this's what tricks us in lecture exams! In Dr Desai’s class U will LEARN & WORK 4 your grade. As for her, she's professional & HELPFUL!
Dr Desai is a very thorough instructor. You will get what you pay for by taking her class. Seriously, extreme work for this subject is required, so you better be serious about taking this class.
I took Dr. Desai for A&P I and now I'm taking her for A&P II and Microbiology. She's a good instructor and will work with you if you need extra help. She makes you work for your grade, but if you study you'll do fine!
This instructor is not teaching from a textbook. She does not care about the subject material and has no passion for microbiology. Save your money and take someone else!
I have taken A&P with her for both semesters. The material is not always easy, but she is willing to take the extra time to work with us so that we understand. Test material comes almost totally from notes. Overall, I would highly recommend Dr. Desai to anyone taking anatomy.
I can proudly say that I took both A&P I & II with Dr Desai. Everything she covers is important & she really makes you work for your grade. She gives plenty of chances to gain extra credit. She cares for her students, so don't hesitate to talk to her if you're struggling. I highly, highly recommend her! Do your part (Study) & you'll get good grade.
Excellent teacher!!!, but hard
Great prof! Take good notes, and you will always know what you'll be tested on.
she's hard. you have to study alot. her tests are totally different than her quizzes. take lots of notes and read the book.
A&P is not easy by all means, so you need a teacher that has good knowledge and help you to study well. I believe Dr. Desai has those qualities. Of course, on the other hand, being a student means that you have your responsibility to study hard and do your best. That's the only way for a student to get and deserve good grades.
Its a rude awakening after the first few test but youll get with the program after that. A&P is hard period but it takes alot of dtermination to pass this class. SHe is a caring person but dont think shell curve tests. Record her cuz she has an accent. If ur taking more than 3 classes then dont take her! A and P is 2 classes put together basically
I have to drop her class. =( She is a great professor and much knowledge in Biol. But like they said...those that know alot will expect you alot in return...she gave soo much notes and the 1st day in class really threw me off. I dropped the class and will take another professor in spring 09. =(
She is extremely knowledgable on the material she covers! She has like her Phd in Biology, so she has full understanding of material covered. Anyone going into medical field, I would take her because you learn so much and you will need it. She helps anyone who needs it and her online resources are out of this world! Great person as well:)
Great teacher. Great class I learned alot in this class. The only complaint I have is that she takes forever to grade tests!
I took A&P1 during the summer and she made the test very easy. You just had to come for the lab sessions and she covered everything that will be on the next test. The first test was hard. A&P is hard but she made it very easy.
Best A&P teacher ever. SHe tells you everything you need to know for tests, but you must take good notes and study them. I took both A&Ps from her. Most helpful and open to any questions. Asking questions really helps clarify understanding.
DO NOT TAKE HER. she's hard and she plays by the book too much. test are extremely hard.. irrelevant to her notes and her study guides.. the only thing that helped me was reading the BOOK and that only helped me a little bit. hard to understand. I look up to the person whoever managed to receive an A in this class
She likes to make tests very hard and not relevant to her teaching. Very frustrating.Do not take her.
Good Teacher... knows her stuff but she is VERY hard. DO NOT take Hybrid class unless you already have a good understanding of the material.
TESTS ARE COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT TO EVERYTHING SHE TELLS YOU TO STUDY!! you study apples, test will be on oranges! its insane. i attended every class, did every assignment, studied a minimum of 2 hrs a night, every single night, and FAILED! ruined 4 months of my life, without a doubt.
Study guides are handed out for each exam, but they are completely irrelevant to the actual exam itself! I am an honor student and have made A's for all my other classes, but could not manage an A in her class even though I studied very hard. I am a pre-med student and now have to retake a&p because of her. I would not recommend her to anyone!!!
Dr.Dessai is a great professor. You ll learn a lot in this class.Strongly recommended for who want to jump into the medical field The test is hard, but if you study from power point note n read the book, u should b fine.2 ladies in my class scored an A.BLAME YOURSELF IF YOU FAIL OR DROPPED THIS CLASS.u just didn't STUDY HARD ENOUGH TO PASS THE CLASS
This class is complex, it's not a hard class, it is just LOADES of info. Her exams are straight forward, you basically remember the material or you don't. She will help if you ask, she takes FOREVER to grade exams. I suggest you be ready study hardcore bc if you don't there is no way you will get an A. I rate her a 7.5 out of 10
Dr. Desai is a great professor and i found her lectures very easy to follow. The class isn't easy though you have to put so much effort into it and read your book. She is very helpful but you have to ask for it. I bearly got an A but that meant sometimes not sleeping at nights. I highly recommend her and STUDY!
there is not way to win with her. the other ratings on here must be from venus because this cant be the same professor. you can study her hand outs, your notes, do all the review questions, read the chapters, and still never get an A. its ridiculous. she doesnt 'teach' she 'lectures' and expects you to figure it out and teach it to yourself. awful
I am a nursing student, and now, I understand why she taught the way. you have to understand material, not just memorization. If you don't know, ask her! she will answer for that. she is a very good professor and I thank you to her so much.
I can not believe the people that are saying she is great.I have studied everything and done horrible. She is useless!I asked how to do better in the class and she told me to read her powerpoints along with the text!Like I don't already do that 100 times!I have emailed her multiple times regarding a grade and she has not responded.Take anyone else!
Dr. Desai is a great professor! She really care a lot about her students success. The class is not easy especially since it is hybrid. But Dr. Desai will make sure that she helps you understand the material. She expects you to put in a lot of efforts and read the course materials and is there to help you when needed.
Awesome, awesome, simply awesome. Great explanations and shows interest in student learning. Not an easy class to take over summer, but definitely worth my time. Be prepared for putting in work in class but she will surely prepare you for Nursing school.
I have to take this class for pre-pharmacy and her lectures are useless! You take quizzes and never go over them so you don't even know what you got wrong and how to get better. Ditto for tests. Usually in EVERY SINGLE class I have ever taken you do this in order to understand what you are getting wrong but in this class you're on your own.
Our lectures have nothing to do with the testing material. They are just a repeat of the textbook.
I am taking this class to apply for BSN program. I have taken many online classes before this one. The course is not easy, but the professor gives recorded pot lectures and unrecorded ppt as well. It is important to listen to her lectures to do well on tests. Tests are based on recorded lectures and text. Feedback is provided for assignments.
I highly recommend taking her! A&P is a tough subject, but she makes it SO clear and simple. Her tests are exactly what she teaches, not trick questions. When she teaches she doesn't just talk "at" you she really does teach you about the material. She takes time to draw it out literally which is extremely helpful. I feel very comfortable with A&P
I really appreciate the time she takes to explain every thing. I can't say enough good things about her. I can brag that I got an A in A&P. Thanks Dr. Desai.
Such a great professor! She is more than helpful. She teaches the material not memorization, which is extremely important if you want to succeed in the nursing field. I got an A in her class. I highly recommend taking her.
Dr. Desai truly cares about the success of her students, she's willing to help if you ask her. The class content is not easy, but if you do the work you will get an A, and you will gain an understanding that will support you through your BIOL2402 course. If you're looking for a class to breeze through this isn't the one, the material is in depth!
Dr. Desai, is very detailed and give a lot of extra opportunities for extra credit. You must attend her lectures. She allows more independent study in during lab time. She is always patient to answer any questions. Her requirements are to help learn the material and prepare anyone interested in the medical field to grasp this subject.
Dr. Desai is a really good professor. She takes her time explaining everything and always answers questions. This class is hard as it is, but if you study her power-points, you will do just fine! She also gives out a lot of extra credit. Dr. Desai, really cares about her students...take her, you won't regret it! I'm glad I took her class.
AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME! Dr. Desai is definately the teacher to take for AP, she really cares about your success and is very passionate on teaching. She knows her stuff too well, explains in a manner that it will 'stick' and gives plenty of extra credit opps. Made an A although was struggling with health issues half the sem. Gives gd advice too!
I took her for online A&P II. She is tough and also throws curve balls on tests. However, she does give extra credit to help out. Lots of independent study! of a class of 25 we ended up with just 6 of people. Also she takes a while to grade her tests and part of her tests are handwriten. Ofcourse lab tests are no multiple choice.
Prof Desai's class is not an easy class. Her class expectations are very high, but I know that I am well prepared for the class. I just recently took the HESI exam and scored high and I attribute my success to her teaching style. She provides lecture power point, learning guides, and other resources. She is very helpful and patient person.
Dr. Desai is an awesome instructor. I love the way she explains everything. At first, I felt somewhat unsure about taking her but I do not regret taking her at all. I've learned a lot and I can honestly say that I enjoyed taking her class. If you want to understand the materials I would recommend taking her class.
I had Dr. Desai for A&P I and II. She is very detailed and always makes sure after explaining something, that seems complicated, that the entire class has clarity of the information. She gives many opportunities for extra credit and goes out of her way to add due dates to all assignments to the calendar in angel. Always be prepared for her exams!
I was introduced to Dr Desai by my best friend. She is by far the most well skilled instructor I have ever been coached by. I was on a constant loop of shame, anxiety and lacking self-confidence. Without a humble, wise mentor like her to advise me an open up her hands to boost my spirit I would have collapsed. She made me believe in myself again.
Dr. Desai is very helpful. There is a lot of independent studying involved but her lecture are clear, she goes over what you really have to know. Her test are mostly multiple choice with a few short answer questions. She is always available to help but not going to lie this course is really intense. You cannot fail behind or you will do poorly.
Dr. Desai is a great professor. You won't regret taking her because she is thorough and takes her time to make sure you know the material. While there is a lot of information to learn,it is not impossible to get an A. Don't take this class for granted, Dr. Desai will only help if you if you are willing to work hard. Again, she is a great professor
Simply the best lecturer i've ever hoped to have. The material is complex and enormous and she makes it understandable. Chooses her words carefully and doesn't meander.Uploads everything you need on angel. Tests are multiple choice with a few essay. massive extra credit for u slackers. Don't waste your time taking a different professor.
It's a hard class but as long as you do your work, you'll be fine. Make sure to set aside lots of time to study for this course. You can't get through it without dedicated self studying. Dr. Desai is very helpful. She's willing to explain topics you don't understand. Great professor. Provides lots of study tools.
Lots of self study -- she works off of powerpoints -- lots of information -- lots of extra credit opportunities. Dr. Desai is clear on what needs to be learned, no reviews for test or labs.
Very difficult class. You have to work hard to be able to make a good grade - meaning lots of time dedicated to going over the material by yourself. Professor Desai is very thorough with her teaching. She'll help you out if you ask. It's an intense course.
This course is not for the faint of heart, but study and take advantage of all the extra credit opportunities she provides and you should come out smiling.
Dr. Desai is an amazing teacher, she cares for her students and is very understanding and makes everything clear. She tells you exactly what you need to know for the exams and doesn't surprise you with crazy questions. She offers a lot of resources and explains well. One negative: structure of the syllabus, subjects are staggered.
Dr. Desai is one of the best and most passionate professors I've ever had. She wants her students to succeed. You have to work in this class and will get out what you put in. Exams mainly from lectures, and there are extra credit opportunities on just about every exam. Highly recommend her if you want to learn and don't mind working hard.
Glad I ended up in Dr. Desai's class. Smart woman, very patient with her student. The class is hard, you have to eat, breather and sleep A&P, but Dr. Desai helps if you ask for it, that plus the extra Credit.... not sure how people failed this class unless they just did not study.
She is the best professor. If you want to learn something then you should take her. Best Best Best. She is very helpful.
If you want to learn the material, then take her for A&P!! She is very helpful and gives lots of extra credit opportunities.
I took Dr.Desai Fall 2013 A&P1. She is very nice and understanding with her students. A&P is a very hard course and Dr.Desai is very clear with the material, but the students must study, read and attend the class if they want to pass. She is a very good teacher overall, but you do need to put in a lot of work and time to pass.
Dr. Desai has changed my attitude about education. She cares about what her students learn and makes sure that understanding the material is paramount - not just remembering it. Be prepared to work in her class, and take all the extra credit opportunities.
The Class is hard but if you study, an A is not impossible. Great Instructor, would take her again.
Hard class. But Professor Desai explains very well. I learn a lot after this class. If you want to have a good basic for Nursing school, take her!!!
You need to take A&P with her. She is an incredible teacher that is extremely organized and gives you all the tools you need to truly learn and make your desired grade. By no means is this a blowoff class at any school, but if you are taking it as a prerequisite, it is very important that you build a solid foundation on this subject anyway.
Dr. Desai is the best professor for this course. I have never sat there and just learned the material until I learned it from her. She is clear and always helps her students. There was never confusion. Test were hard but I earned my A. After taking her class, other classes kneel down and pay respect. Take her if you want to succeed in life.
can be mean sometimes; otherwise okay. accent issues also. goes in too much detail and misses on the core concept !!
Dr. Desai is the most dedicated instructor I have ever had! She knows her materials and she sets the bar high for her students. She is very detailed and will focus on understanding the materials rather than simply memorizing the information. If you want to succeed in the health professions take her. She is the best!
DO NOT MISS ANY CLASSES!! YOU HAVE TO STUDY ALOT!!! she offers alot of credit , your grade is 4-lecture exams, 4-lab exams, Mastering A&P quizzes (easy), and you final. Not an easy class at al you have to work hard and study!
Anatomy is a tough class. However Dr. Desai prepares you for the materials. It is your own fault if you do not put in the work for the course. She tells you which exams will be tougher than the others. Plenty of help is available- you only have to ask for it.
This is an anatomy class so it is not easy. Tests were very hard, labs a breeze. Took this as a hybrid class. Lots of reading but lots of extra credit. Do the extra credit and ace the lab exams and you will do well. Lecture exams are tough. Grading is returned fast and emails faster. Great professor
She is a great teacher an very well organized, however; her tests are extremely difficult consist of 90 question which 5 are open questions. She always changes all the lab test and makes it harder than other teachers. I know that many people in my class are doping the class including myself.
Tries to intimidate students at beginning of the semester and preaches on the difficulty of her class. Whereas thats not the same with other professors for her subject. Shes a very smart lady but a HORRIBLE professor & will not attempt to help even the brightest of students. She will watch you fail with a smile, silently rant her lecture and leave
The class is not easy and you should expect to put in lots of work to do well in this class. Dr. Desai emphasizes on conceptual understanding rather than rote memorization. The class will definitely prepare you well for health professions if you put in the required work. There are four lecture exams, 3 lab exams and a final.
I had taken A&P with Prof Desai a year ago. I am now in the accelerated Nursing program at a four year university. All the anatomy and physiology I learned really is critical in this program. Although classes are not a breeze, I am able to do well and it has really made a difference. If you want to succeed I highly recommend taking her.
she never replies to the emails in a timely manner. she would usually reply the next day or the day after you email her; that gets frustrating especially if you ask a question in the email. the tests are kind of hard and manipulative which i hated the most.
Dr Desai cares about her students, goes out of her way to help you succeed and is a very good teacher overall. The class itself is not easy, I had to work HARD to get a good grade. However, the work is reasonable. Cramming the night before will not help you. She gives clear lectures, extra credit and help if you ask for it. Would take her again
Not a class that you can just cruise through. Be prepared to do work outside of class. If you're looking for an easy A.. this class is not for you!! Take this class if you don't have a heavy workload with other classes. You gotta work for your grade and study the notes forwards and backwards.
Dr. Desai has been so far the best professor I have had while at Lone Star College. I got an A and my advise is to read the material before class. Many people complained about them getting mediocre grades but those same people were mediocre in their performance expecting to learn everything in lecture and that is just laughable.
Dr. Desai is amazing! She is always available for help and is very fair. She gives homework for extra credit. She really wants her students to learn and fully understand the material. This is a tough upper-level course so you must work hard and put in the extra time and effort.
This class is tough, it requires knowing the material every which way and exams test your ability to link ideas not just regurgitate definitions. Dr. Desai is great at explaining concepts and really cares about her students. When she could, she even stayed after labs to better explain slidesconcepts; not a lot of professors care enough to do that.
I have a 3.7 GPA and I had to work very hard to earn a B in this class, without ANY help from this professor. She is rude when someone asks her for help and she actually told a students You were handheld in A&P 1 and that will not be happening here. Tried to discourage nursing students. Why is teaching if she doesn't want to help students succeed?
If you are planning on going to healthcare professionals, Dr. Desai is who you should take. She is really great at what she is doing, she has inspired me to work harder. Don't expect an A from her class, if you are not willing to work. I also notice that a lot of my peers don't get good grades in her class cuz they do not know how to study!
This teacher is not willing to help you succeed. Save your time but most of all your EFFORT because no matter how hard you try she will find a will to fail you and discourage you from pursuing a nursing career in each and every way possible. Find an actual teacher who cares, is fair, realistic, and wants you to succeed. Don't recommend this class!
Tests are tricky. 4 lecture exams-70 MC and 4-5 short answer. 3 lab exams. Comprehensive final is 100 MC. Felt lost in her lectures. Moves fast and too much detail. She gives extra credit so even if you don't ace the tests, it is possible to make an A. Can be negative but willing to help if you prove yourself. I prefer Dr. Florez (took for 2401).
Took A&P with Desai more than a year ago. Now in BSN Nursing and just took the HESI for Pathophysiology (think of it as A&P III course). I did well in the course and HESI exam. She was spot on about how she taught cardiovascular and ABGs in A&P II. Tough class and tough grader - but worth every bit of it. Take her if you want to do well in Nursing.
Syllabus, assignments and grading criteria were stated and we stayed on track. Study outlines really help you focus on specific items in a vast ocean of material. Responds to e-mails and grades assignments quickly, respectful and knowledgeable, communicates well. I learned a lot.
Desai is a great professor! I'm puzzled by the remarks that she is rude and discouraging-she was always respectful to everyone in class, made jokes, and went out of her way to help. She graded and responded to emails very quickly. She was extremely knowledgeable and lectures in a way that is easy to understand. I learned so much-would take again!
Dr. Desai was exceptional! I took this class ONLINE class during 3 week mini-mester and she was the most responsive professor I have had yet. She answered my emails sometimes within 5 minutes. She was very VERY open to feedback and I would take her again if I can!
I was scared to take her due to her easiness level being quite low, but I thought she was amazing. She really wants to help you, and is easy to talk to. Her exams are just like the notes, you just have to memorize. It gets more complicated down the exam "road" but don't worry, she gives some extra credit :).
She moves really fast. You either get it or get left behind. Tests are very tough and very long. I highly recommend taking this class alone or with a "easy" class.
I do not recommend her at all! She's not helpful nor does she care if you pass her class or not. She goes way too far into detail, during her lectures, therefore making it more confusing than it should be. Very discouraging. My first lecture she informed us nursing students, the percentage rate of dropouts during the first semester of nursing.
Hands down the best professor I ever had! 4 lecture exams that come from her powerpoints, 4 departmental lab exams, quizzes on mastering. Not an easy class and you have to work hard for your grade. Gives extra credit questions on most exams. You will do well if you pay attention to what she says in class.
Just a great teacher overall. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Will go out of the way to recommend study techniques. It helped me improve greatly on my lecture exam scores. She is clear with everything she says and points out every important piece of information that is useful for studying purposes.
This professor's lectures are long. She gives too much extra information. Tests are really hard and detail-oriented.
I took nutrition online and it was an easy A. One homework per week, one project, and 4 exams in total. Only used the textbook for a few hw assignments, but I just used the textbook in library. Also gives quizez that are questions on the exam. What's on the exam review is on the exam.
I had Dr. Desai for A&P II. She is a tough professor, but explains the material very well. A&P II is not easy and she emphasizes on understanding the information rather than simply memorizing it. Will be going to UT Nursing school in summer- could not have done it without you, Dr. Desai! You are amazing!
Dr. Desai is great. I was iffy about taking an online class in college but she made it much easier for me to feel better about that. Her lectures are long but detailed, structured outline of each week in the syllabus, and she responds to emails quickly. I'd take her for every class if I could! She's great!
I took Dr. Desai to prepare me for the pace of the health care field. A&P is not an easy subject. Don't cram, and follow the reviews she gives and you will do just fine. She's given extra credit on every exam. Her knowledge is amazing, and I love being in her class. Awesome teacher, but be ready to work for this class!
Took this online, her power points were all I needed. Test reviews are the exams themselves given to you beforehand. She even gives extra credit, 4 points for silly stuff that took me a couple mouse clicks to do. Easy homework and not even every week. 4 total exams. No cumulative final. She makes it easy but you'll actually learn. That's a talent!
Awesome professor! She explains things out of the textbook in a way that's easier to understand, yet difficult to piece everything together, if that makes sense. But honestly, I would choose her for any if not all of the other biology classes I have to take. My college experience would be fantastic if I was able to just have her as my professor.
I definitely recommend taking her! She made Biology interesting and fun. Her lectures were based off the power points and she is very thorough. The information can be heavy so make sure to take advantage of all the extra help provided online. Textbooks are a must. She gives a lot of extra credit. I made a 100 and enjoyed every bit of the class.
I took this class for 8 week summer. The lectures are long. The tests 70-85 questions that are closely related to one another with rearranged answer choices. She does give extra credit like crazy because she knows her class is extremely difficult. Never in my life have I studied so hard to receive a C. The first class I am having to repeat.
Tough class, fantastic professor! Took the summer hybrid class. Worked very hard to earn an A!! But that is expected given that this class is important for Nursing school. Class is highly organized and she gives you all the tools needed to succeed. She expects you to work though and earn your grade. Very responsive, will answer emails instantly.
Would take again for sure! Her power points are what you need to study for tests but has reviews! Very clear and great lecturer. Lab is a little harder but study and you will do fine. All LEC tests are multiple choice with a few short answer and lab tests are 52 questions you answer. Lots of extra credit she wants you to succeed in the class!
Her notes are very lengthy, reviews very lengthy, tests are not easy at all, be prepared to do a lot of reading, homeworks are easy, one due a week, major project at end, 4 major tests, tests are very difficult.
I would not recommend taking her at all during summer nor weekend classes first class I have to retake. She gives to much information, doesn't reply back to emails, states to go based on the PW for the lecture exams and her lab class are confusing.
I am taking this class for Nursing school. So going in I knew that this was not going to be an easy-breezy class. However, Prof. Desai provides you the tools needed to succeed. Her lectures PPT are detailed and she explains them well. You need to pay attention in class and take good notes. Labs materials are clear though does have memorization.

Anatomy is a very tough class, Dr. Desai trys her best to make it easy for everyone to pass. Her lectures are straight forward and she posts the powerpoints. The study guides are exactly like the tests and she offers the most extra credit I've ever seen during my college career. I would take her again she is quick and organized.
Great professor! I would definitely recommend taking her for A&.P. I definitely learned a lot, she emphasized the importance of conceptualizing the material rather than just memorization. The tests are difficult, but if you put in the time you will be fine. She also offers extra credit, which is great. Got my A!
Dr. Desai was overall a great professor. Obviously, A&P is a hard course, so you have to work for the grade you want. She's a very knowledgeable person, knows how to teach in both lecture and lab. Her tests are hard, but do not be afraid to ask her any questions, she can easily clarify any confusion. Make sure you make time for this class!
Her nutrition class was actually quite fun, even though it was online. She gives weekly homework, but they're really easy and can easily help you understand that weeks content. 4 tests, last one being the final. They can be tough, but she does give a review for each. Fun diet project due at the end, which can really boost your grade! I recommend!!
Took online course. 4 tests last one being the final. Homework every week but very easy and about five or six discussions total that were mainly opinion based. Diet project at the end , again easy. The tests are tough if you don't read. She gives a review that if you study and know you will get an A. Reading is an absolute must , obviously .
She is awesome.
She's a nice lady, but sometimes I got lost during her lectures. Hardest class I've ever taken. When you feel like you've studied enough for this class, make sure to double that time
tests were literally nothing like the power points, or homework or reviews. Tests questions were so tricky!! only thing that really brought my grades down
Took this during a mini semester. Course had 3 lecture exam, 12-13 homework that were not too difficult. Had to read the textbook and her lectures. Diet analysis to complete and that was the most interesting and fun part. She gives good feedback on all assignments. Very prompt and gives immediate replies to emails. Highly recommend Prof. Desai!
Professor Desai has long lectures, which can be boring. If you listen to her lectures, you will definitely receive an A on all exams. She is clear with explanations. Her exams have short answer portions. She also gives really good feedback and tells you how to improve in the class and gives you resources to help you.
Please do not take this class if you have other big classes. I think this class would've been more appreciated if I didn't have other classes. Very interesting subject. Tests taken at testing centers, so no going around anything. Must know your stuff. 4 tests, about 10 hw's, and a nice, eye opening project. The most ORGANIZED online teacher EVER!!!
Just finished this class online. We had lab on campus about 5 times and the rest was online. It is a heavy subject not hard just heavy, with a lot of info to remember. If you do the dms and study guides as you review her PowerPoint and use the book to read the points on the power point you will do fine. I highly recommend memorizing the PowerPoint
This teacher seemed to be good at first. The homework is due once a week and is all very easy, and she provides a lot of notes since it's an online class. However, the tests are NOTHING like the notes, and she asks the most minuscule details. She takes points off for things that she doesn't specify.
Her class was hard! If you take her get ready to study A LOT outside of class, at least 2-3 hours per day, her first test was extremely easy and then they become impossible! you must really know the material to pass the class. She covers the basics and lecture and expects you to apply the knowledge to real life situations on the test.
Took her online during the summer for Nutrition. She puts the work out over 2-3 week intervals. Everything is very clear when it's due. She gives all the resources you need to pass. The tests are 80 questions long. 3 of those, but not too hard. She does give reviews which help if you do them thoroughly. Overall good teacher & I would take her again
I love when a professor doesn't beat around the bush. Professor Desai is clear on her due dates, and gives you all the information that you will need in order to succeed. She's not a harsh grader on homework and the project either with is a huge plus. A piece of advice would be to get started on the exam review early and you'll be golden.
I took Professor Desai for summer 2 and she was great. She gives you about 2 weeks to get through one unit which is enough time. Her homework assignments are pretty easy, she offers a small amount of extra credit but thats more than some professors give. The only complaint would be that she gave us an hour to finish our exams which was 80 questions
A&P can be a difficult class, I took it once before with a horrible teacher. Dr Desai is caring and wants you to succeed. Go to class. Study her power points. Do the work needed and you'll do well. She's very approachable and I really respect her. She is able to explain things in a clear way so you can understand the concepts.
I took this class online while in nursing school. Dr. Desai provides lecture notes, powerpoints, and exam reviews. All the material provided was useful and made studying easier. If you do all homework assignments and the project which were easy then you will be fine. The exams are based off her lectures notes so if you study those you will do good.
Dr. Desai is a great professor! I took her online for the fall semester. She is very clear to what she wants, homework is usually really easy. There are 4 units, 4 tests! She is very understanding and replied to my emails promptly. Theres a Dietary Analysis as a major grade towards the end of the course but its alot of fun a very easy! TAKE HER!
Dr. Desai is amazing! I took her class in 2017 Summer, but I wish I had her for all my Anatomy classes. She provided power points that could be used to study for the exams. Also she provided SOO MUCH extra credit. If you can't pass, it is because you aren't working hard enough to retain the immense amount of knowledge found in ANY anatomy class.
Great professor! She made very difficult information easier to understand. Her expectations were super clear and the power points were great. Lots of opportunity for extra credit. I can't recommend her enough.
she is good but just be ready for the work load. time will get away from you if you do not know when something is due. a very easy grader as long as you did the homework you got 100 unless is asked about showing work on a problem . make sure you show your work to get the full points . she bumps so if you have a 69.45 she will give you a 70.
I took A&P I and II with Dr. Desai. Here lectures are detailed and course materials are well organized. She expects you to know her lecture power points well as exams are based on them. Pay attention in lecture and do not miss class. I learned a lot from just being in class. I had a good in class study partner and that helped retain information.
Dr. Desai was amazing! I am going into nursing school and I feel completely prepared now that I've taken her A&P II class. She has a lot of experience and explains material in ways that are easily understood. Lots of extra credit oportunities. Don't get me wrong, this class is challenging- but totally worth it!
Professor Desai made a really difficult subject easier to understand. She uses a lot of flow charts which are really helpful. Although there is a lot of homework, it helps you understand a the subjects better. The tests are on the computer and are multiple choice and short answer, they come from the Power Points so study from those.
I took Dr. Desai for both A&P 1&2. First of all, she an amazing professor who really cares about her students and also she gives extra credit for every A&P 2 exam. The textbook helps, but make sure to follow all the powerpoints in preparation for the lecture exams and expand with the textbook. Dr. Desai is the best!!
She lectures for both lecture AND lab time, so be ready to hear alot from her. It honestly got boring when she lectured for two hours straight. I failed most of the tests and still got a B, but that's because of the extra credit she provides (which is great). Exams aren't too bad if you actually study.
I took AP I with different professor and wish had taken Dr. Desai. APII is tougher than API but she knows how to break it down to where you can understand the material. I spend a lot of time working on the course. She is highly organized and provides all the information needed to do well. I feel well prepared and hands down will recommend her.
I took A&P 1 and 2 with Dr. Desai. She is an amazing professor. She gave a lot of homework, but they helped you reinforce your knowledge. I love the way she taught. Don't panic! I learned a lot of from her. Take her course, and you won't regret it!
I took this class as a minimester for Summer 18. She said you didn't need anything, but the power point and lecture notes provided I found it helpful to read the book chapters anyway. I also made a 72.5%, 86.25, and 81.68. I got a 100 on the dietary analysis. The HW I got 29/30 overall. The HW is not hard at all.
Course is highly organized. There were 12 homework not terribly difficult. She gives good feedback though takes points off if missing info-so be detailed. Diet Analysis project was fun. I learned a lot and was good way to apply concepts. Exams were not that easy and I had to pay attention to her lectures. Overall good and will highly recommend her
I enjoyed this class. There is homework after almost every chapter, some require calculations, some are very easy; there is also a diet project in the middle of the class, but it is interesting to do and can be very beneficial if you are willing to work for it. Overall information is very useful, is you are in nursing school - it is not hard at all
If you're going to take A&P online, please please make sure you have sufficient time to work through everything because there are a lot of assignments and you have to put a good amount of time into everything. There is a lot of extra credit, useful if you have time to actually do it. Good professor and very reachable and understanding. WORK HARD.
Incredibly smart and thorough. Very in depth information, but she provides really good slides. You NEED to attend lecture to do well in the class. Not a lot of homework outside of Mastering quizzes, but that stuff is all extra credit. She gives extra credit for lecture and lab exams! Really good professor, moves fast. Great prof for a hard class.
I might have took her for an online class, but shes the best. she turned my B into an A for my final letter grade. dont expect to get handed easy grades, you do have to study and read the textbook since nutrition is all about memorization. Her class is not hard at all, just keep up with deadlines and complete the assignments and use reviews.
Be ready to pay for test if you want to take them at home. There is a lot of extra credit. I would not recommond taking class if you already have a busy schedule.
The tests are seemingly and intentionally difficult to pass unless this is the ONLY science class you're taking. Some of the questions just seem to trump you as you think that understanding the basics like terms, definitions and cycles are enough to know, she blind sides you with the most ridiculous questions like fine print in the chapters. NO4ME
Very HARD.q Need the book, need to pay for lab materials, & pay for tests if you want to take at home. All exams proctored @ LSC otherwise. I have no doubt that she would be better in person, explains the material very well through lectures, but questions on the test are really tricky. Good teacher overall. But wouldnt take again.
Professor Desai is an amazing instructor. Genuinely cares about the students and if you are going for the medical field, her class is for you. What you learn in this class you will learn in future academics. Tests come straight from her power points. No doubt there is easier professors, but you will learn so much and be ahead of the game. TAKE HER.
I loved this class. I am a pre-nursing student and feel like I have learned so much. She is so passionate about what she does, always willing to answer questions. There is so much extra credit, if you do bad that is not her fault, it's yours. Do not take this class lightly, read her powerpoints and you will do great. For me it was an Easy A.
I was right at the cusp of a B from not studying. I missed an assignment & begged for a make-up, but was given the stern hand. Guys, Desai won't give the A easily as the class is already comprehensive and easy to pass. If it weren't for her stern hand i wouldn't have learned so much and kicked into full gear, passing w/the A. I'd take her again!
This class is great if you're wanting to get into nursing, there is so many clinical applications. I am currently a nursing student, and all the things Professor Desai discussed I have seen(clinical applications and concepts). It is not easy if you do not study, a lot of extra credit. Easy overall if I'm being honest. Do the work, you will do great
Overall the class was easy. Just make sure that you work on your reviews to be able to study for the exams. She gives 4 tests in total, which you have to take in the testing center. The exams are hard if you don't read chapters or work on your reviews.
She is a very hard professor. Her recorded lectures were hard to understand due to her heavy accent. Now, she does give a lot of extra credit, which can help you bring up your grade.
Professor Desai is an amazing professor! I learned so much from her and was able to understand most of the content. She has many extra credit opportunities so make sure you do them all because those help a lot! Print out the power point slides so you can highlight and write down important stuff in class. Make sure you are present for every class.
Dr. Desai is an absolute gem! She is very attentive to her students and is highly punctual with returning emails. The entire class is custom tailored, down to the lecture notes. The recorded lecture videos are the perfect touch to visual learners. If you are going into the medical field I would highly recommend taking A&P with Dr. Desai.
I took BIOL 2402 online & made an A+. Desai is an easy grader, quick in responding, & grades everything in a timely manner. She provided us with recorded lectures which were really helpful in understanding the material. Tests come from the powerpoints. Labs are performed at home (not difficult). A lot of assignments but majority are extra credit.
She wants for her students to push themselves over what is expected from them, that's why she's considered as a tough grader. What I recommend to do is working on the exam reviews answering them with the 3 sources (PPT, book and her notes) in your words, this way you'll do well on tests. Work on the assignments and the project and you'll do great!
3 week mini- each week read 3-4 chapters, watch short videos, 1 easy homework assignment and Exam. A 3 day diet Analysis report is due just keeping track of your food intake. Real easy. She provides lecture notes and power points and review. She references book pages to go to so the book is useful but otherwise almost all material is in her notes.
I took a 3 week mini mester for nutrition. It was fast paced, but do-able. The course recommends to spend time learning a chapter or two every day so that you don't fall behind. There's homework that can be done easily and a test every week. There was also a project that you work on which is really interesting. Professor Desai gives good feedback
Such a great professor! She really cares about whether or not you learn. She is always available to answer questions and as long as you read the material she provides and go through the lectures you will do great. You also do a really fun project at the end which taught me a lot.
Dr. Desai is a solid choice for A&P. Her video lectures & resources are AWESOME. 2 lowest quizzes get dropped, HW can help you a whole letter grade. She is very responsive to emails. My only warning is to the working student considering her hybrid summer class. Test & deadlines are inconsistent & only open for set days. It's a lot if you work FT.
Dr. Desai is an amazing professor. She knows the material very well. There is no wasted time in class. She is very straight to the point. I took the hybrid class (lectures were online, lab was in person). You have to work hard in this class. Tests are detailed, but she gives very many extra credit opportunities to help. I would take again.
Prof Desai was the best ever! She gives out so much extra credit, it'll bring you up a letter grade. She is able to answer all questions and will help you if you need it. Usually I forget things after I take the test, but with her lectures I am able to remember everything. The sweetest person ever. I wish I could take her for bio 2402.
One of the most difficult courses I have taken, but Dr. Desai is such a great professor in that she has the talent to take difficult information and explain it to you in a way that you are able to comprehend. Lots of extra credit, HW, and lecture, but is necessary. Caution for FT working student-this course requires about 30 hrs/week. Dedication!
Dr. Desai is a wonderful professor! While her lectures are long, she presents the material in a way that is easy to comprehend. Do not take her 100% online class if you lack time management skills. This class requires a lot of work and dedication, at least 25-30 hours of studying/week.
I took Dr. Desai online and she is the best! Tests are literally just like the homework. Gives a study guide already filled out. Homework due every Saturday and you have 3 tries to do it and make the grade you want. Big project thats easy, just stay on top of it. Knows we have other classes so doesn't pile us with too much. The best!
All you need to do is read. The quizzes are easy because you can take them up to three times and the highest grade is taken. The exams are just like the quizzes so make sure you study them before you take the exams. Make sure to stay on top of the ONE project you have. It was very easy.
This class was hard, but A&P isn't easy. I took her for nutrition and thought she was amazing. I felt she helped me less during this class, which really sucked. Sometimes her slides were useful and sometimes not so much. Read if you can, and don't slack. Gives extra credit, but not much help. She would be a good solid 2nd choice.
I don't know why she got high marks, its the only reason I took her. Her test a extremely hard, there are no guides or reviews, none of her test are like material in HW, PRACTICE TEST OR lab test. I have no idea where shes pulling her material from. The load of work is extreme. I worked everyday 5-6 days a week, even did extra credit work.
Took this as 6 wk summer class. Material was not hard since I had taken Intro A&P. But you need to put in a lot of time. She has recorded lectures that was a plus. Lots of easy work mixed with some hard exams as expected. Be sure that you do not fall behind. She's helpful is you email her questions. Gives prompt replies unlike my previous prof.
Took her for a 6 week mini mester. Was a very hard course. The test are nothing like the practice test. When I asked her for additional resources she told me to use those and they don't help. She has like seven answer choices for one question. She's not very helpful. I self taught myself everything. Basically I paid for her to not teach.
I took Dr. Desai for AP1 based on my colleagues recommendation and he was not wrong. This was a hard class, especially the last two exams. But she gave us all the resources to prepare. She is very clear and detailed in her lectures and I highly recommend watching them. I know I am well prepared for AP2 and Nursing. Dont slack off!
Took her 5 week summer class online during Covid. Best decision ever, very caring and responds to emails quickly. A&P is hard no matter how you take it or who with. There is homework, extra credit, tests and quizzes but they are reasonable. Gives lots of study material and recorded lectures. She is very helpful. 100% recommend.
Took Dr. Desai's 5wk summer A&P1 online due to COVID. She gives everything you need to prepare for labcture exams. I made mostly As on the lab exams but did poor on the lectures. Very challenging course but if you're going for nursing she will prepare you for the Hesi and/or Teas exam. She uses PPTs & lecture videos. Gives extra credit too!
I was incredibly nervous about taking an anatomy class online (and as a minimester!), but Dr. Desai was so helpful and gracious along the way. She is very organized in her lectures and clearly lays out what's expected of you. If you listen to the lectures and do the assignments, she's set you up for success. Would LOVE to take her other courses.
This class was an absolute nightmare. Professor Desai was not at all helpful. There was about 20 labs/homeworks/smart books due every 2 weeks and they were for the wrong tests. Ao as you're learning new stuff you're being tested for things from 2-3 weeks ago. Save your money and don't take her!
This was my first online class and Dr. Desai made the transition easy for me. She is easy to reach and patient. She provides recorded lectures and I found them to be a good preparation for exams. She is very responsive. Due to covid all labs were online. The resources she provides will help me in the long term as I apply for Nursing programs.
This class was way too difficult. The professor herself isn't bad but the work load is insane and there's a quiz AND an exam every single week. I wouldn't recommend taking this biology class if you don't have to. She is good at responding to emails but doesn't do much to help you out with the course. It's all on you. Exams are monitored with camera
i did not like this class nor the professor. she does not care about her students success
Took this class during summer. I am not a bio major and the lectures were easy to follow. Connect assignments helped on exams. Study guides were provided to prepare for major exams. Overall a good class as long as you read materals. Prof Desai was easy to reach and even responded on weekends (which my other prof did not) so that was a plus.
Prof. Desai's class is highly organized. I really appreciated that she had recorded lectures. Her explanations are clear and that helped me retain the information. Labs are extensive and complete and complement her lectures. All in all, I feel well prepared to take AP2 and apply for Nursing program. She is the best and will highly recommend her.
The class is organized and Prof. Desai is clear on the reading materials and assignments. She is very accommodating to the needs of students and offers a lot of study material to help students succeed. Here videos and review sheets were helpful in preparing for exams. I will highly recommend her.
This was my first course that I took as an 8 week. Mind you, I am a first year student and this was intro to biology. Don't take this as an 8 week course, you will be stressed the entire time. All of her tests are 100 questions & proctored - you have to do a room scan. I had to do 4 units with 4 homework assignments each week. STUDY!!!!
I struggled so much in this class. I ended up with a B on the class because I failed all the exams but got As on the assignments and discussions. I studied for hours and still failed the exams. I tried reaching out to the Professor about my struggle and she just said to study the powerpoints and videos. I honestly regret taking this course.
Honestly the best professor I have seen. Prof Desai's class was challenging, but that is expected of an a&p class. She has recorded lectures that were super helpful in understanding lectures. Review sheets and study guides were provided to prepare for exams. Very accessible and approachable. Highly recommend her.
Professor Desai's class was ok. Tests were hard since reviews didn't help, brought grade down. Extra credit helped though. Used McGraw for assignments, took lots of time. Online labs were easy and very fun. Desai is a nice teacher and responsive, but watch out for those tests. 3 major discussion which were quite easy, gives ample time to do them.
I am still currently taking BIOL1408 with Professor Desai. She is a very good professor. However I found this class to be challenging, especially since the last time I took Biology was over four years ago. There is a chapter every week and you have to read a lot. If you don't do your work, your grade will show. The tests are also proctored.
The best online class I have ever taken. Course has video lectures which helped so much in retaining the information. She is very organized and you know what is expected. Gave reviews and study guides that were super helpful. Prof. Desai is always available and she responds in a timely manner. Highly recommended.
Don't take this class if you want something easy, it requires a lot of effort, its an A&P class it is HARD. You can get an A but you have to really work for it, I took it online so I never really talked to her personally at all, her tests are pretty hard (kind of feels like you need to know more than what you went over to get an A+ on a test).
This is my second online class with Dr. Desai and she is absolutely amazing. I love her teaching style and her video lectures are clear and to the point. My class was 100% online and she made sure to reach out to us frequently. Responds fast to emails.
Prof. Desai's video lectures are very informative and she breaks down the material to help you understand better. She is prompt in her email responses. I had some trouble understanding information and she immediately scheduled a Zoom meeting to clarify. One of the best professors I have seen. I feel prepared for Nursing school because of this class
This is a challenging class but Dr. Desai wants her students succeed. The lectures, assignments and quizzes are helpful in preparing for the exams. If you put the work in, you will do well and there are opportunities for extra credit to help keep your grade up. Dr. Desai also makes herself available if you need any help in understanding anything.
Professor Desai is fantastic! The course itself was challenging, mostly due to the material, but she gives you all the tools you need to succeed. The assignments, labs, and discussion posts are all interesting too. She's very organized, and is always open if you need help with questions!
Professor had a terrible response time with emails taking almost the whole day after sending the message lack of communication and strict deadlines with no flexibility do not take this professor if you are doing online
I suggest not taking this course with this professor. Although I got a good grade I had to work 2x for it. The professor uses 4-year-old youtube videos with horrible mic quality, where you can't understand what's said& says filler words a lot. They also reply very slowly to emails and sometimes not at all. She also gave us work thanksgiving break.
Best professor at Lone Star and I highly recommend taking Prof. Desai. She is highly organized and provided recorded lectures which made it easy. She is caring and responds quickly to emails. I am taking her for AP2 next semester.
the class wasn't easy a lot of new information need to learn and memorize but the recorded lecture by the professor helped a lot. also, the professor was nice and help with any question.
This was my second class with Dr. Desai. Her lectures are very informative and she can break down the material to help you better understand. I feel better prepared for nursing school because of this class. She is quick in responding to emails.
Although I got a B in the class, I could have definitely got an A if I had put in a little more effort! She is a very kind professor, and really cares about her students. I'm taking her for A&P 2 and am excited because she was great for A&P 1. There is an extra credit study guide before every test, that I found very helpful!!
Dr. Desai is very detailed, and she gives a clear summary of what the class entails. She is courteous and respectful, very fast in response to emails, she answers your concerns. I took this class as an online winter min-master class and by the help and grace of God, I passed with an A+. Be prepared to stay on top of thing and you will do well.
Best professor ever! The class is not easy, but Prof. Desai is available to help and responds super fast. Taking her for A&P 2 next semester.
Took her class for A&P 1 and 2 and it was a great experience. There is lots of reading and the assignments take up time, but very worth your time to do. She makes the study guides extra credit that really helps your grade. Answered questions in a timely manner and accommodated my full-time work schedule. Definitely recommend A&P with her!
I took Desai for both A&P I and II. Because of her rigor and solid instruction, I am doing very well in Nursing, especially in Pathophysiology. I appreciate all the hard work she puts in to ensure that students are successful. Nursing school is hard, but her classes has definitely made it slightly easier.
Prof Desai is very organized. Her lectures paired with the online tools are great and she is very helpful! The class is not easy and but she will give you great details to what is expected of you!! Put in the work and you will be well prepared for Nursing! A+ professor.
Prof Desai's course is very organized. Her powerpoint videos are really well done. She has multiple learning materials in the course and helps reinforce the concepts. She prepares us by giving all of the information in the study guides. There are plenty of assignments but that helps as it gives you a chance to raise your grade.
She does not care about the students. Does not reply to emails. Don't take her. I lost my interest in this field for her.
I took this class as a short miniterm. Course is organized and prof is easy to reach. She answers questions promptly. There are 3 exams and homework for each unit. It is not too difficult and the assess my diet assignments needs you to track your diet. There are study guides for each exam and those were super helpful. Easy A!! Highly recommend.
EASY 3-week Nutrition class! There are 4-5 chapters a week, with accompanying study books and homework. Track your food for 2 days and do some assignments with the data. There is 1 proctored exam a week. Do the study guide! A lot of the exam questions are on there!
I thought this professor was really good. She answers emails with urgency and she did help when certain issues arrive. There is a lot of material you can learn from although of course since its online its most of a teach yourself style. I must say she does do proctored exams so that's the only thing i didn't like but just because it was unnecessary
Professor Desai's BIOL2401 class is challenging but rewarding. Her organized lectures and study materials help reinforce concepts. I found Unstuck study ai useful for test prep alongside the provided resources.
She is alright. She can be rude and condescending. She gives so much work that its difficult to even balance prepping for lecture exams. There is so much going on i got lost. She responds to emails but comes off rude. I wouldnt take her again if given the chance.
I was nervous to take this as an online class, but Prof Desai made me feel comfortable. She was prompt in responding back and was highly supportive. Will highly recommend anyone without much background in Biology to take her class. You will not be disappointed.
She gives insane amount of work. Days to respond. She does talk down to us. I would go with someone else if given the chance. She doesnt narrow down what she wants you to know. Know it all read the textbook
I was hesitant to take this course in an online format. Prof. Desai was flexible and understanding and gave ample time to complete assignments. She is easy to reach by email and very approachable. She patiently answered all my questions and I am now more comfortable taking online Biology and will definitely take more classes with her.
Took her online as a minimester. She was SOOO organized and willing to help! Powerpoints were to the point and like the exams. Obviously the course is hard and you HAVE to study, but I would so take her class again.
She can be rude sometimes. Shes not friendly. I have no idea how the comments below match my experience. Theres so much it's hard to navigate she doesn't respond and when she does its not in a nice way I was exhausted from the class. It was difficult to learn throughout. Take someone else
Her exams and all questions is generated by mcgraw hill. She doesnt come up with question. The learner does it for she is hard to reach. I didnt feel she was approachable i was told to read the book. I had to drop the class because i didnt feel i would get the support.
I have have no issues with Professor Desai and never email her on anything, but be aware that your exams is proctored by Proctorio. You're not allowed to use your notes or any outside resources. The exams are taken in McGraw Hill and make sure you study everyday. She doesn't create the exams.
I took Professor Desai's online Biol 1408 class. She was approachable and replies back fast. She was kind to allow me to work on some assignments that I missed becasue of my health issues. Study guides are provided and that helped me prepare for exams. I highly recommend her and will be taking the majors Biology course with her.
She okay. So much work which is fine but she is very hard to understand. She can be rude at times when asking a question. Sometimes it feels like we are beneath her. I took the class cause i needed it. Just getting through now. Be ready to read the textbook to get through the class
Course was highly organized and Prof Desai gave extra credit to help boost grades. Smart book, labs, homework and exams were not too difficult. Be sure to complete study guides as they helped prepare for exams. She is flexible and accommodated my request for earlier exam. Responds fast to emails. Highly recommend Prof. Desai.
Course is relatively easy as long as you read the textbook. I never had to email her so I can't speak on that aspect of communication, but she had Unit Announcements that I found helpful. She had a bunch of extra credit work to help students who might not be doing well and I found those to be helpful. I would take this course again if need be.
The professor is very straight forward, he gives you clear expectations up front. If you do the work it'll be an easy class to take. However, there is tons of work.
