AVOID! Terrible professor... just took him this summer. he doesnt teach well, cant understand his thick accent, changed the exams to non multiple choice and doesn't curve
He uses slides to teach, however, he posts whatever you go over in class on Blackboard so it is accessible at any time. Practice questions for the midterm and final were given, and many in class problems were done in order to learn the material. Overall, a very solid professor. Good sense of humor as well.
Professor Z told me at the beginning, if you're not willing to put the effort, drop my class and enjoy the beach this summer. I told him that won't be happening, from that point on I applied myself like I've never done before and he supported me the entire way. He might seem tough but he's a nice guy, if you work hard and show interest you'll pass.
Professor Sockovic was great at explaining all the material in class. As long as you pay attention during his lectures you will breeze through the course. The homeworks he assigns are short compared to other accounting classes at Baruch and are very helpful with understanding the material. Highly recommend Prof Sockovic!
This guy is the real deal. Nice guy, one of the best ACC profs not uptight like the ones you usually get in this dept. Explains the material thoroughly and extremely well, using "real world" logic to help us remember the content. I'm a CIS major & I hate ACC but this prof made it interesting and easier to grasp. Got an A in this class because of it
The man knows and teaches the in and outs of managerial accounting extremely well. He always reminds you to understand the basics so that it can help you understand the big problems, and he's so right on about that. Go to class, listen thoroughly, do the hw justly, practice hw/ppt/textbook problems before the midterm and final and you'll do great!
Get ready to study because this class is conceptual at best. You can try and memorize what to do but if you don't understand why its done then it'll be difficult to do the midterm and final. Practice a lot on connect hw and if possible go to recitations to help the material sink in. This professor also curves which can help your overall grade
Hard class! You may as well take the online course because you dont learn anything in class!
He tells and prepares you for the exam. At the beginning of the semester, he may be slow but towards the end we had more time to discuss problems in class. He tends to go fast when it comes to calculation so it's better to review the materials again after the class by doing homework. Exams are departmental but he prepares you for both. Awesome prof
Great Professor. Explains everything step by step. No shortcuts, test is all departments. Prepares you well. HIGHLY recommend taking this course in person not the online courses offered at Baruch.
Not hard material but he doesn't teach clearly. Goes too fast or too slow during lectures. HW has very few questions. Tries to prepare us for midterm and final (only tests) by reviewing problems. Tests are departmental, 12q for midterm, and 16q for final. Go to tutoring!! That is the most helpful thing. And go to class, he takes attendance.
ACC 2203 is fully online now and his midterm was very difficult since it was much harder than the connect hw's. Given that the average for the midterm was approx 40/100 points, there will probably be a 2 letter grade curve considering the final was also extremely difficult. I do not recommend unless you are ready to spend hours just to learn one ch
Accounting 2203 is hard when it is fully online. He lets you know how you did compared to the others in the class. The homeworks and tests were not hard because I read the textbooks. He is a little rude in emails and during the midterm he slammed tests on peoples hands. Go back to the textbook if you dont know how to solve the problems!
Please take this advice. WATCH THE NARRATED LECTURES. He provides clearly what you need to know for the exams and everything that is going to be on it. I did average on midterm but very well on final bc I watched every second of the lectures. Is it boring? Yes. But it will be worth it. Yes. Also for the homework just start a groupchat.
this is an unnecessarily hard class that should be taught face to face! I failed both midterm and final and ended up with a C! I have always been a straight A student but this form of learning managerial accounting did not work In my favor. Youre pretty much teaching yourself! Do all of the homework do not miss one! and excel assignments!
Honestly, accounting courses should be taught face-2-face. Like the rating below mine, I've failed both midterm and final and still ended up with C because of the departmental curve and good grades in Online homework PLUS sam excel. Watch the narrated lectures. It'll give you a basic knowledge about the topic but his lectures aren't enough for exam
I got max points in both midterm and final, and the only thing I did was watching his narrated lectures. Connect problems are useless, and the textbook is helpful but not fundamental. Watch the narrated lectures and practice exercises(there is no need to do 1000 exercises.)
I took an online class, got B easily. TAKE HIM
This is my second time taking accounting online and this time was a little less tough than the intro to financial accounting. Professor has good lectures which are lengthy and he responds quickly to emails. The tests consist of a few math concept questions so its important to learn the concepts, not definitions
AMAZING PROFESSOR - probably the best accounting professor at Baruch! Has very clear & consice narrated PowerPoint lectures that are extremely helpful Read the slides, along with the practice questions & really understand them - you will do well. Genuinely cares about his students & is very responsive to emails & wants all students to do well.
Professor Sockovic is nice man, and caring, his power point is very handy with homeworks and tests. I would definitely take him again.
I took his Cost Accounting class over the summer and let me tell you the class lectures themselves were a breeze but once it comes time for the departmental midterms and finals its all down to seemingly luck. Just not that choice E none of the above is almost NEVER the answer and you have a 25% chance to pass the class. Still easier than Acc3000.
Took Cost Accounting over the summer, the course material itself is difficult but he tries his best to explain the concepts and how to approach problems. Regardless of who your professor is, exams are going to make you contemplate life. This class requires a lot of out of class studying and PRACTICE. Try and get old exams for practice, good luck.
I took online Accounting 2203 with him. It consists of a midterm, final, homework assignments, and simple SAM excel assignments. Overall, I would recommend his class, but be sure to go over all the powerpoints he posts on BB.
I took his ACC 2203 online class. I believe that Prof. Sockovic is the most generous professor at Baruch once I got an A at the end even if I didn't do exponentially well on mid-term and final (8/12 for the midterm, 14/16 for the final). I expected to get around a B or something for the final grade. His narrative lectures were the most helpful.
He's a professor who explains well and respects your time. Video lectures were easy to understand. Tests are somewhat difficult but he curves.
The final curve was over 5 points. You won't need it unless you devote a lot of time to this class, but if you do not want to live on your computer listening to online lectures, then it is still doable to pass while getting a decent grade. All of the exam problems are numerical multiple-choice questions. He is a very supportive professor.
Took Cost for the 2nd time and HOLY! Do not take him. His tests are the worst thing ever. They are so hard. The entire class failed. He curves but still man, everyone failed on the mid term and the final.
Test averages are in the 40 range, and chances are, youll fall within this too. Do not underestimate the course, and consider who to take carefully. With that said, class exams were extremely hard in comparison to the learning material. Would not take again. Very strict standards with no leeway.
He tries his best to explain the material in a clear way. He cares about your learning and answers all questions in class. Optional lectures and narrated ppts. The hws were on connect. The practice tests are harder than the actual exams. Make sure to understand the concepts and how to answer practice tests. Took over the summer. Highly recommend!
Online classes are not easy but Professor Z tries his best to make it a little easier. Many ppts and exercise reviews and he also offered zoom review sessions every so often that were not mandatory but helpful. Always available through blackboard discussion board also. Exams are not easy but get a formula sheet and study and you'll pass.
We were being told there will be curves in midterm and final, he didn't keep his words. He only curved for failing students but not middle and tops. I think he was not fair in grading. Anyway, LOADS of hw and quizzes. Exams are not fair comparing to time limit. Department should be reformed.
This guy is a liar. Said that he will curve the midterm and the final but he did not. Made exams excremely difficult and too long most people ended up running out of time. Take an epermit for this class, you'll do better.
ACC 2203 is not an easy class. His prerecorded lectures are pretty boring. Homework and quizzes are fair. A midterm and a final, with pretty standard questions based on the practice set he provides you beforehand. Minimal to no curving on exams.
This class was my least stressful one of the semester, it was super straightforward and all the information was in the lectures (which he originally didnt have to do as it was an asynchronous class) and the textbook. Accounting is hard for most people but this class was really so straightforward. The only surprise was how nice the curve was, 10/10
Professor Zeljko is incredibly helpful and understanding. Passionate and caring about the subject and the students. Very communicative and straightforward. During a strange 2020 semester, it was one of the only classes that was straightforward and to the point and didnt make it harder for students during covid.
Great Professor! His review lectures are very detailed as well as his notes. Review his notes and practice test and you will do great!!
Largely a self-study course, as with many of the introductory accounting courses. Professor Sockovic is available though if you need assistance. I personally didn't find his pre-recorded chapter by chapter lectures very helpful but I'm sure many students used them to their benefit.
Great professor. I took his managerial accounting course completely online and it was extremely organized. Homeworks were relevant to the material on tests and the grading policy was fair.
ACC 2203 is one of the harder zicklin classes, but professor sockovic did his best to teach us. He hosted a zoom session every week to help students understand concepts, and provided handy review sheets right before the midterm and final. Homework and quizzes were tedious, but they help. All in all he tried to make the best out of a bad situation.
I hate absolutely everything about accounting, but I liked Prof Zeljkos class. He went over concepts and examples very clearly during lectures, and gave us extra questions to go over. I got D in my last account but B+ in this one, he makes the class easy, no doubt. If you pay attentions and do hw, practice exams, you will get good grade!
Prof Zeljko was an amazing professor. Accounting is a very tough class and he made it very simple to us ONLY if you take time and study. Some students don't realize that in order for you to get a good grade you need to study. It's not an easy A. I ended the class with an A- and got a decent grade on the final. Overall, I recommend this class!
Literally just do practice problems and youll get an A. Connect hw every week and two exams. Straightforward class Professor had multiple review sessions and extra office hours where he helped students who needed extra help. I honestly never watched his lectures, just did the practice problems for the exams and watched his review sessions for them
Professor sockovic was a great professor! He was nothing but fair and his grading Criteria was crystal clear from the start. I enjoyed all the lectures videos and midterms and finals were very fair. If you did the work you should have no problem doing well. Class overall did amazing! Best accounting professor Ive taken at Baruch!
The professor not only made pre-recorded DETAILED lectures so each student can watch on their own schedule and REWATCH if they needed to, he also held live classes to go over the material and bring up any additional questions you might have. He asked questions to help students UNDERSTAND the "why" behind accounting practices. He was great!
If your are taking him for non accounting major he is the only one that will help you to pass. Other professors will simply fail you. He does curve that help me to improve my score. I recommend him for non accounting major students
Grading policy was very specific. People who are saying that he promised to curve the test grades probably werent paying attention. He repeated twice that he only curves the final grade, if you attended his office hours, and takes the highest quiz grades instead of the average connect gives you. He went out of his way to help students. Great Prof.
This is a fair class!! Do the work and you will do good!! On top of that Professor Zeljko is ALWAYS willing to help and he does whatever he can to give you the best grade possible. Considering theres a whole pandemic he was nothing but kind and willing to accommodate.
Prof Sockovic is very passionate about what he does. He makes this hard course very interesting. The recorded lectures are helpful to understand the material better. A little bit more time on the mid and final would be better though.
Dont let a couple of bad reviews mislead you. Professor Zeljko is a gem! He is well organized for online teaching, providing clear lectures and being available for extra classes to help us students throughout the semester. He is really caring and knowledgeable. And yes, he curves when necessary, as clearly stated in the syllabus! 5* Professor!
Professor Zel is an amazing professor. I hate accounting and still got an A in ACC 2203. He went the extra mile (narrated lectures, zoom sess) to make sure that the material was well understood even though he didnt have to. Ignore the bad reviews because if you study up, you will get a good grade. Dont expect free grades to be handed out to you.
This class is HARD. But not because of the professor. He is actually very organized and punctual. Even gives chapter reviews which he's not required to do. Listen, I failed the midterm and still pulled a B at the end. DO ALL ASSIGNMENTS AND SAMs!!! READ!!! Prof curves at the end; but you better put in the work during the semester, or you'll fail.
Great guy I feel like he genuinely put forth effort and gave opportunities for the student to learn and understand the material. I got a low grade on the midterm because of my own complacency because of the pandemic, I settled down and did great on my final after paying attention to lectures and weekly review sessions. Practice the HW and quizzes.
Very nice prof, easy and happy class, highly recommend!
Really great, caring Professor. The class section is like a 1000+ students, but he was always highly accessible over email and held additional optional class review sessions.
You just have to do the work. Accounting is a class that takes time. You get what you put in. Utilize the resources of the professor, to see the grade you want. Nobody can study for you.
Responsive and nice. Added 2+ pt curve. An A is definitely possible; make sure to do well on homework. Book is unnecessary to read. Practice is important and there is a WONDERFUL review sheet on Baruch's STARR website that helps prepare for tests. Professor goes out of his way to do reviews and the practice he sends out before tests is excellent.
ACC 2203 is by no means a easy A class. But Professor Sockovic had recorded lectures and weekly chapter reviews through zoom which were very helpful. The class was organized clearly with 10 chapters covered during the semester. Midterm/final were 60%, HW/Quiz 35, excel graders, 5% . Professor Sockovic made a hard course very manageable.
Prof Zel is an amazing teacher. Take him, he is a kind prof who cares for his students genuinely. I am grateful to him for holding Zoom sessions to help us out. If you put in the work, easy A. Don't get lazy and blame him for your bad grade. He did his best. Thank you once again prof!
Taken his classes more than once. It isn't a walk in the park but he holds your hand the whole time. All homework and quizzes have multiple attempts and offer solutions when done, multiple practice exams are offered and reviewed at length. I put in maybe two or three hours a week. If you aren't lazy or incompetent it's a free A.
Fully online class but professor offered study sessions and full classes if we chose to. He also added 2 points to our overall grade on a class that probably did not need to be weighted. Would take again 10/10
Its a difficult course by itself but if you watch the narrated lectures and practice through the Connect homework and quizzes and youll be good to go. The narrated were very good, I did not need to open the textbook. Do as many final exam review sessions as you can as well.
The course was not easy, but the professor did his best to get you to pass the course. There is no need to take class, but he will hold a zoom meeting every week if you want to attend. He will give you good feedback and guidelines. However, you must learn and practice HW on your own. Study hard, or you will fail.
Overall the semester was good but there was a lot of important work to complete. Connect assignments every week, DO THEM. Its useful for the tests. Review was given for both midterm and final(harder then the actual tests). It was fully online. A lot of the work is self taught. My tests grades werent great but the other assignments helped overall
Honestly, I gave a 3 because his lectures weren't attached to me especially with his recording. I tried my best to watch it, but it didn't work out. However, the good thing is that he gives you 2 points to your overall average. He has weekly OH and live sections. This class is hard but you have to manage your time for it. Do the hw and quizzes!
Prof Zeljko provided voluntary review sessions to go over the narrated lectures/problems. There is 1 midterm and final and is more calculation focused than concepts. In order to do well, watch all lectures and look over his practice problems. He lowered our final to 35qs from 40. But, you must work fast or you will run out of time. Well organized.
Acc2203 is a hard subject but this professor took his time to make sure his students are understanding it. He cares about his students and wants them to pass. He holds zoom meetings every week to discuss lectures. It is really up to the student to put in effort and learn this subject.
His class was great. I learned a lot. I hate accounting. And I really appreciated the importance of his class. I think an basic iPad with basic iPad pencil would make his life much easier.
Really good professor, I learned a lot. Class is fully online but the professor is doing optional zoom meeting to go over chapters and answer your questions. You will have quizes and homeworks online with 3 attempts. You also will have 2 exams and he will curve your final grade at the end of the semester. Take him if you want to learn and get A.
Great Professor, I will take him again. A lot of love Professor from Salma.
The class was online, this professor made time to sched. zoom meetings weekly. He gives narrated pp lectures. Gives 2 works each week, hw(3 probs) and a quiz(15 q.). He gives you practice problems and even set many review zoom. His exams are quite tricky, but they are fair if you STUDY and PRACTICE! Curve on tests is dependent on class performance.
There's a lot of work in this class and you have put in the effor if you want a good grade but Professor Sockovic is extremely kind and caring!! I thought I would do bad in this class since I did bad in ACC 2101 but with the lectures, weekly reviews, and Connect assignments, I was able to get an A!! Take him!!
Professor Zeljko was a great professor! He makes it very clear what he expects of you! His class isnt too difficult. He goes out of his way to host optional zoom meetings to review, which he doesnt have to do given its a fully online course (no meetups). If you have the choice, definitely pick Professor Zeljko.
The work was straightforward and the grading was clear. It is an online course so it self-learning is extremely important. Stay on top of weekly assignments and practice questions for the exam. The professor was reachable outside of class and is considerate of class grades. He curved my overall class average by 2 points.
Clear grading criteria and the content of the lectures matches the content of the HWKs, Quizzes and Exams. Lectures are also recorded so you can go back and review and you can work at your own pace. Overall, this professor is fair in his grading policy, organized with his assignments/due dates and good at teaching.
Great professor. Left great content for us and madd sure we were all prepared with lectures!
Professor Zeljko patiently explained the students' questions in detail at each meeting, and he discussed them on the BB. He also provided some practice questions and final review records. His Narrated Lectures are very helpful for students to learn. As long as you study hard and submit homework and quizzes on time, your exam results will be good.
Professor was really communitive throughout the entire semester. Was open to speaking with the student and excited to have us do well on the tests and exams. I think the only real bad thing I could even think to say is that he did know the exams were a little tough and was ok with a 75-85 average as it is passing. I would take this professor again.
He was very clear in his criteria, grading policy, assignment due dates (which he had up months ahead of time for students who wanted to complete them faster). The midterm and final are difficult but, its difficult material.
Class was basically narrated powerpoint lectures, followed by Connect assignments. Tests were basically big Connect assignments. Midterm was 3min/question, plus written notes, which was near impossible to do, but I think that was a new format for COVID--the final was much less hectic.
Amazing individual and highly considerate. His humble teaching skills can be beneficial for any student. I highly recommend him for your Accounting courses.
The topics covered for class were very intuitive. I was able to develop my own method to understand the topics and solving problems. I was able to go through many different ways to think about these topics and problems in our narrated lectures, and been able to pick ways that worked for me.
This professor was very organized with the lectures. Very understanding and made online class easy to handle despite these times of online learning. Speaks and explains the content very well. Although I got a C in this class I did the best I could this semester and the professor gave me all the resources I needed to learn accounting.
Great professor. Online recorded lectures were easy to understand and accesible. Homework is straight forward and based on the lectures and text book.
he'y Prof. Soko pls stop trynna so hard, we the students never type long paragraph like your fake comments. People scroll down to the comments started from Dec. 2019 you would see the real comments regarding this professor. And you could see that most green comments with sentences are followed the same writing styles, which is impossible
His class was nicely and neatly organized online. I do agree each Professor should have no more than 50 students in class but seeing the volume he did an amazing job teaching us availing online structure. I see students here giving him bad reviews, dont take out your frustration of a bad grade on him.
Honestly, this prof is a solid choice. He surely wants you to understand the concepts behind accounting. Weekly zoom meetings and office hours if you need extra help. The only thing suggestion to make the class better is to make the homeworks and quizzes accessible in Connect for studying midterm and final.
This guy definitely wrote his own reviews and is disliking the ratings he doesn't agree with. Narcissistic or what?! He did not curve the midterm or final. Added 2 points to the final grade. Homework and Quiz due every week on Connect. Would have gotten a better rating had it not been so obvious he rated himself. Take that as you wish...
This was a really tough time to be in class. But Professor Zel went above and beyond to make sure we understood the material. He offered live classes and office hours on top of his very detailed recorded lectures. I didn't do as well as I would have liked bit I'm afraid I would have failed without all of the resources that he provided.
The class it self is veery difficult. There are a lot of quiz/hw due every week for each chapter. I understood the chapters but the calculations took a lot of time during the exams, which led to a bad exam score. I dont know how its possible everyone in the class did so amazing. I wish he gave a bigger curve for students who failed the exams.
This professor was kind enough to hold weekly sessions even though this course is online only meaning no live lectures. Recorded lectures were useful enough that reading the txtbk usually wasn't necessary. I normally do well in acc, so for me it wasn't too hard. The hw & quizzes can take a while, but if you do them & take notes, you'll get an A.
Lectures + ppts are posted online, you have time to do both Connect homework and quizzes. He hosts weekly zoom sessions to help students understand material. If I had put in a bit more effort, I would have had an A; so it is possible to get an A. Small curve that boosted me to A-. He's good and very communicative.
The zoom meetings were not mandatory, but every week the professor took the time to do a review of each chapter and go over the content and questions. The homeworks and quizzes were very helpful when it came time to take the exams. During the meetings, he would not rush through content, rather he would take time and answer everyone's questions.
Took an online class but free-to-visit lectures were available for those behind. Simple cengage class
The professor explains materials veeery nicely. He makes everything easy to understand and gives you several ways to do the exercises (which is good bc some of those options are much easier to solve with). He makes jokes here and there, but i think they are hilarious. He is accessible outside of class and always tries his best to help students!
I honestly thought this class was much easier than ACC 2101. As a finance major i enjoyed this class (formulas/math heavy). His pre recorded lectures were very clear. U just need to put in the time to watch them. HW/Quizzes on connect-the usual. I got an A- just study the reviews/watch review video hes a nice guy u just need to put in the time/wor
Problem in this class are exams .It is simply impossible to do very well on them unless you are a genius ,you can read write and calculate at the same time without even understanding question. Each exams has questions that require lots of time to calculate .It is Impossible unless you have help on the exam and cheat .I found this class very unfair.
Not the best prof not the worst either. Acc is hard but he does give you lectures and zoom meetings better than just plain connect by itself mc exams saved me bc I could just guess on some. He could def find a better format to capture his lectures. His review does help somewhat, remember relationships and equations btwn acc terms. Sunday exams suck
Online learning has been a very interesting and somewhat difficult experience for most people. Even though the class was asynchronous he hosted many optional zoom lectures for the class. He was a fair grader. I had a hard time this semester but I think he tried his best to be helpful.
Yo, take this guy immediately! He has mood swings sometimes, but he cares about his students alot. He likes it when people participate too. I couldn't do the survey because I was out of time, so I'm rating him here. Just study the textbook, Connect, and learn how to do the problems, and you'll be fine. This class is very difficult!
Let me cut to the chase, Accounting 3200 (Cost Accounting) regardless of the professor you decide to choose is undeniably challenging & difficult but rewarding at Baruch College. Because of the high commitment this class will demand of you I would highly recommend enrolling into Sockovic's Cost 3200 class. Do yourself a favor and sign up for an A.
Professor Zeljko is a great professor, he cares about his students and he is a extremely. generous grader
Cost Accounting is not easy regardless who you take it with, but this professor was very helpful in giving us as many materials as he can to help us better prepare for the exams. I definitely recommend taking this class with him. You will definitely learn a lot. I suggest studying old practice exams and using all the resources that are given to you
This class is not easy but professor helped in so many ways to understand the material. He is very caring and understanding. He wants his students to do well and receive a high grade in his class. He is very generous with grading. Take him!
Professor Zel is amazing! The class is tough by itself, but Professor Zel makes it easier. He is caring, good-hear-ted, loving and wants his students to succeed. Professor Zel is beautiful in and out, and I would take him again, and again. He is my idol! If you want to succeed, do not hesitate to enroll in his class. You're in the right place!
Majority of grade is on midterm and final which is nothing like the homework or lectures
The semester is only half over, but I wanted to write a review before Spring registration. HW on connect is fine, but this midterm...a majority of the class failed. There is no curve on the midterm or final, but possibly a curve at the very end of the semester, but who knows how much it would be. ACC 2101 was by far much easier. Be wary.
Majority of your grade is on midterm and final; NOT MULTIPLE CHOICE. This is a MATH BASED CLASS, you need to actually understand the accounting; You MUST attend recitation if you want any hope of passing. OVER HALF of the class failed the midterm and the professor has the audacity to say the class did "well". No curve. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.
More than half of the class failed the midterm and he said the class did well. The recorded lectures are more conceptual and do not prepare you for the intense math that will be needed for the midterm. Gives very little time for the midterm, the math really slows you down. It's a class where he's fine with failing a large number of students. Avoid
NO extra credit. majority of the class failed the midterm becaude of how difficult it was. the final and midterm worth more than 70% WHICH IS UNFAIR. he don't actually teach you.
Half the class failed the midterm. Homework and lectures do not prepare you for the midterm. Ridiculous. No curve, hoping to pass this class somehow. DO NOT TAKE.
if this is your last option, e-permit this class. i have taught myself about 95% of this class. lectures do not prepare you for homework assignments and quizzes, which take hours at a time to complete. midterm: gave material to study that was not on midterm. whole class failed. refused to compromise or give a curve. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. STRESS.
Horrible horrible professor. Please do yourself a favor and do not take this professor. He does not teach at all and every student failed the midterm
Overall, I think professor Zel is good. The course was hard - no doubt about it. To do well, you need to spend the time to fully understand the material. I thought he did a good job explaining the material, and was willing to answer any questions I had. If you're willing to put in the work, professor Zel is a good choice.
90% of the class failed the midterm. He doesnt care for his students. Dont take him, avoid. He doesnt lecture he gives recordings
This entire semester was stressful because of his class. His exams are nothing like the homework assignments and quizzes. He cares more about students cheating than passing. If you want to save your GPA, steer clear from this professor's class.
He is a good choice for this class. He tries his best to make sure students understand course materials. This course is very tough, and he reminds you of it from constantly. He curved our final grade by 3 points. Doesn't give extra credit. Expects students to work hard. Gives homework every week which if you do all can boost your grade as its 35%.
Bro I know this class is hard, but seriously the tests are a foreign language from the homeworks. Hes a very dry accounting professor who wants to care, but couldnt care less about the students actual understanding. The midterm average was a 54. He said that was great. Seriously if theres a chance to find another prof try to.
A very reasonable professor and a nice guy. As long as you do the homework and actually learn the material, the class is an easy A imo. Definitely the most well organized class I had this semester.
Imma keep it very real. If you don't study you will do bad. I didn't do much prep for the midterm and ended up doing horribly. I then decided to hunker down and actually give it my all for the final (more difficult exam) and knocked it out the park and got an A. Just study and you will do fine, Zel's lectures/practice exams are very good!
Not a difficult class at all if you take the time to actually learn the content and do practice problems on your own instead of relying on Chegg and other cheating software. The students of the class complain and cheat more than they study which is why they failed. Zeljko is a good teacher and sees right through people who clearly didnt study.
I THOUGHT THE CLASS WAS GOOD. I NEVER ATTENDED THE RECITATION LECTURES AND WAS ABLE TO STILL PASS THE CLASS WITH AN A. ITS TRUE THAT THE PROFESSOR GIVES YOU LOTS OF HOMEWORK BUT IT IS JUST A WAY TO PRACTICE FOR THE TEST. AND THEY ARE NOT DIFFICULT AT ALL! The exams are open book and all the formulas are online! EASY A.
Class is hard but actually study and do the practice problems he gives as well as do all the hw and you will do good. Acc is hard in general but he gives hw and if you do that and review you can get a decent grade. He helps a lot and wants to see his students succeed so I would 100% recommend him.
This is a challenging course, However nothing comes easy in life. Towards the middle of the course I was thinking about dropping It, but my competitive spirit told me to stick though It and I am happy I did. Do yourself a favor and do not use Chegg It will make you lazy and you won't grasp the information. Study chapters & connection questions.
He is very nice.
Even though the midterm was challenging, he curved pretty hard at the end. Professor definitely sends out a lot of reminders and his lectures are worth attending or watching.
A genuine Professor, knowledgeable in his field. Your hard work will be recognized.
Curve a lot
For an accounting class you cant expect it any easier than this. Lots of homework weekly. Quizzes every few weeks. Midterm was really hard, final was easier. Great curve, overall as long as youre on top of your work, easy A. Dont slack on any of the assignments though. Gave us 3 extra points for doing the surveys and a very generous curve.
Definitely study if you want to guarantee an A. Ask questions to the professor or your recitation professor.
Good professor, big curve
Literally didnt go to 1 class failed midterm and final did half the homeworks and still passed the class. For a non ACC major this was perfect actually unreal how little you have to do to pass
Those posting bad reviews are salty that they got a bad grade in the class. They are spoiled by the leniency that Harry Davis offered in ACC 2101. The key to getting a good grade in ACC 2203 is to study a lot. You got to know the material inside and out. Keep in mind that ACC 2203 is perhaps one of the hardest classes that Baruch has to offer.
Great Teacher who cares about his students
Im gonna admit that I was a lazy student and did terrible on the midterm. But I studied hard to pass the final and passed. He has weekly hw, quizzes every few weeks (3-4 total), 1 midterm, 1 final. You have to work for your grade. He gave 3 extra points and a curve. Was so sure I was gonna get a C- and ended up getting a B.
In no way did I think I was gonna pass, after the midterm(avg for 1.2k students was a 55). I did my best to do the hw at 100% and studied hard for the final which was funny since the hard topics appeared in 5 questions outa 20. He has weekly hw, quizzes every few weeks (3-4 total), 1 midterm, 1 final and Sam. Curved 13 points overall grade. Study!
If you put in the work you'll do fine. Do the hw and practice, practice, practice. He cares about the students and really does want you to do well
This was my only class this semester that I studied my butt off. I did well in the exams but I admit they weren't easy. Do the practice papers before the exams. There's a ton of homework every week, quiz like every 2-3 weeks, 3 big SAM Excel Projects. There is also a big curve in the end so even if you don't do well in the beginning, don't drop.
Always gave helpful feedback
Class is ok, I mean the tests were hard but he makes sure that everyone gets a good grade and pass. Study hard tho, it's not gonna be easy, just do all the assignments and pass the quizzes/tests.
The material is really hard to understand. Every week a chapter, watch recording and two homework on connect. Quizzes after every 2 or 3 chapters and the grade for the quizzes counts with the homework grade. The midterm was really hard, multiple options and fill in questions. The final was easier than the midterm, 20 questions.
Sockovic is a very knowledgeable professor. He knows his stuff. This class is definitely rigorous so get ready to study. The way Sockovic teaches is he essentially lays out the basics for you and you do the rest. There is not much choice in terms of ACC 2203 professors, but I would definitely recommend Sockovic.
Connect hw, 4 quizzes, midterm, final. Take him take him take him! I don't think you will find a great online professor for this class other than him. I mean it's Accounting. He is sarcastic at times, but he genuinely wants his students to receive an A. You will see once you take him. All the best! You can do this degree! Keep pushing!
One of the fairest Professors ever. Im glad I took him for Acc 2203 , plenty of opportunities for receiving earning A. Curves generously. Take him if you find him
Amazing professor.
Prof Sockovic is a genuine and caring professor. DO NOT POST QUESTIONS FOR ANSWERS ON SITES LIKE CHEGG. Quite a few students were dropped from the course. Other than that you'll have weekly chapter assignments on connect/weekly quiz. The exams can be tough but extra help is always given/weekly recitations and exams are proctored with no camera.
Asynchronous but provided optional lessons and powerpoints. Lots of online homework and hw quizzes but they helped to study (redo them, it helps). Many didn't do well on exams and tried to review bomb him but they didn't realize he doesn't curve EXAMS, he curves the FINAL GRADE. He was unresponsive to email at times but there are 100s of students.
Took him last fall, he didn't lecture anything considering he posted slides and videos to do the job for him. I had to learn on my own, we all did horrible on the midterm but he curved at the end because of that. Do all assignments and study.
Nice Professor, care about the student and give a big curve at the end, I am so happy with my C+, and would take him again
Professor replied to emails quickly and patiently every time when you had any questions. Every lecture was following the agenda and you would learn a lot. This class itself was not easy. But the hardworking effort pays off and understanding the professor's lectures will make it easier. Amazing!
Took the class for the summer semester and would highly recommend! He is very caring and wants the best for everyone. There is also a huge curve at the end of the semester! The most stressful part of this would be how long it takes to do the hw connect assignments, but other than that, it's not too bad and definitely doable.
The long homeworks made this class hard, other than that if you pay attention to the lectures and the problems you should be able to pass. The professor answered all questions asked even if it was the same questions all the time and he even played some jazz music because we needed something mellow so we wouldn't be stressed.
Zel is a good teacher! You have to do homework almost every week, some quizzes, projects and two exams. Yes, you need to spend a lot of time. He put caring notices before exams that tell us don't be nervous.
Honestly, I found this class much easier than ACC 2101. I never actually read the book BUT I did watch the lectures after the live meetings & they helped a lot. Everything that he teaches in those lectures is on the exam so anyone complaining about this class is not putting in a decent amount of effort. He's a great professor & funny.
Class was online, but lectures are recorded so attendance doesnt matter. Readings and his lectures help with homework. He goes over many examples and doesnt give tricky questions. He is strict about midterm policy, so you have to take the day off. He is a bit insensitive to life outside of the classroom. Easy to understand just apply yourself.
SUCH A STRESSFUL CLASS...
Worse professor
Forget all the complainers, Zel teaches well. My main issue is his tendency to overexplain certain subjects. We can spend an entire hour going through of a simple concept. The issue the 1 stars have is that you need to logically extrapolate what you learn. We cover the basics in class, but you need to understand the concept to pass the tests.
Well it's Baruch and an Accounting course. Don't expect to get a good grade considering actual Acc major students usually fail hard on their Finals. What do you expect from Non Acc major students taking Acc.
Zel is the man! His lectures cover a lot of material and his tests can be EXTREMELY difficult, I won't lie, but his curve at the end of the semester makes up for it. Curved my class around 15 points and brought my C- to a B! Accounting is never an easy class but Zel makes it bearable and he tries his best to help the students excel. Take him!
I attempted to come to his online lectures, but he just made things so difficult to understand that I became more confused. I went to tutoring to learn the subjects, which was the only way I grasped some of the material, but I still didn't do too well on the midterm and final. Self-studying and practicing questions are key to passing. Would avoid!
This professor is literally the best. I got an B- but he bumped my grade to an A- at the end. Incredible. Best prof ever!! TAKE HIM!!!!!! He curves A LOT!!!
Professor Zel cares about his students and his guidelines are pretty clear for the semester. Beware this is a self taught class So if you are comfortable with that you will do fine. His lectures on powerpoint are from the textbook and sometimes his way of explaining them and or getting the concept out to students are not best.
Really caring prof, 2 hwks per chapter with a quiz every few chapters. 3 attempts per homework and you can see your mistakes from the previous versions. His lectures are solid but I found the best way to prepare for the exam was from taking the practice tests and understanding the work. I had an 88.9 before the curve and I finished with an A.
Material is not that hard if you study. questions on midterm and final were very similar to homework and what we did in class.
Material is not that hard if you study. Midterm and Final are very similar to what he teaches in class and HW.
This is not an easy course. Be ready to teach yourself, and put in a lot of effort. Practice questions will be similar to the midterm/final. I finished with an A due to the generous curve, but it also jrequired a lot of work.
This was an okay course. the class material is difficult but practicing yourself works. the professor is okay, and lectures are okay. final was easier than midterm. I would take it again.
It was an online class. Attendance was not mandatory. Be prepare to do a bunch of homeworks. He cares more about cheating than having students do well. Exams are hard.
A lot of homework. Lectures are boring and attendance isn't mandatory. Be prepared to teach yourself. Excel projects are easy but the midterms and finals are hard. Gave curves to those that do well on his connect assignments which includes 4 exams not including the midterm and final.
Professor Zel was good!
Professor is awesome and caring! It is just that materials are a bit challenging for me. But he curves!
By far the hardest and most stressful class. Professors lectures felt more like elementary scribbling than actual accounting. As a 4.0 student, I was willing to put in the work and yet still found myself struggling to grasp the materials. He honestly was so invested in catches those who cheat that he made exams extra hard. I DO NOT recommend.
Do all your connect assignments and practice the homework over and over again then you should be good for the midterm and exams. He was a great professor too.
Prof. Sockovic is very good, explains material quite well and tries to help students to understand, but YOU HAVE TO WORK YOURSELF! It is, very time-consuming subject, conceptually easier than ACC 2101 but the number of tiny details is enormous; use logic and become detail-oriented and you should be ok. Without practice do not expect miracles!
Very fair professor. Midterms and Final are a bit harder but he does curve. Put in the work and you'll get a good grade.
If you are someone who is good with logic and math, you can easily teach yourself by looking at the lecture slides. Some chapters are harder than others and it comes down to a lot of practice on connect. Weekly connect assignments and theres a quiz for every chapter. Be prepared for the fill in questions for the final.
Just okay. Lectures are not mandatory to attend. You can self-study or attend the SACC workshops. Good curve.
A great professor. Acc 2203 is a difficult class because it requires a lot of self studying but he teaches during online lectures and is able to answer any questions. There is weekly hw on connect and quizzes. Gave us a big curve for final grades. Put in the work and you will do well.
It was mostly a self-study type of course but what helped the most was watching his recorded lectures on 1.5x speed. He also gives a lot of practice exams before the midterm and final, which really helped prep for the exams. Beware tho he uses proctorio (no webcam, just lockdown browser). Try not to cheat on exams, he caught a few people.
Had him online in a async class. There isn't much to say because I never showed up to the zoom meeting, I got away with just doing all the cengage hw and studying a bit for the cengage test.
Professor Zel is awesome for accounting course, I recommend taking his class he provides clear lectures he gives a lot of material to help you better understand accounting, and also gives a curve at the end of the semester. Take him for your accounting course!
Frequent connect assignments which can take upwards of 2 hours to complete every week. He uses similar questions on his review as he does on the final and midterm exams. I never attended a single lecture, rather watched his prerecorded lectures he posted. The course is difficult at times, but only minimal studying is required to get a decent grade.
Great professor
I am so grateful to have him as my professor! He gave me the necessary tools to do well in the class. If you need any additional help with the material, please go to tutoring. Other than that, the exams are just like the practice exams so study that a lot for both midterm and final. He also gives a MASSIVE curve!
he gave me a C when my actual grade was a 50. insane curve.
One of greatest Professors in Accounting field. Take him. Participate, and just be engage into the subject, and would not failed. Good luck!
Professor Zeljko is the best professor for Cost accounting. He truly care about you learning the material. He gives you all the tools necessary to understand and grasp the problems and concepts of this course. But, the course is intense. However, if you read the chapters before class and do the homework and the practice problems, you will do great.
ACC3200 was really challenging for me, but I am glad I took it with P.Zeljko. He replied to emails fast, was always available for any questions. After I failed the midterm, I was ready to drop the class, however P. Zeljko helped me to gain confidence and finish the course. Complete hmwk on time, participate, you need to put a lot of work!!!
horrible. his exams are unreasonable 100 questions and two hours. the questions are difficult too, its mixed with concept and calculations. If he's the only professors, study a lot and the connect assignments. You're on your own :(
He can be pretty rude. Not very good at teaching the subject. The title of this class is "for non-accounting majors" but his midterm and final are HARD. He treats us like we're preparing for the CPA Exam. His homework is long and also hard. Not sure why the reviews are high but my suggestion would be to skip him if you want a decent class.
Really unfair midterm and final, you have 100 questions to complete in 120 minutes which does not sound bad but you are also required to do around 60 (or more) math problems. Which take a lot of time, over all his exams are very unfair.
worst exams ever, 100 questions in 120 minutes? How does that work when over half of them are math problems which require more than a minute to complete. Really unfair and it is the same for both midterm and final. Connect assignments are easy though.
As a professor, he is great. But in terms of exams, they are super hard and impossible to complete on time which is not fair for those students who actually study to get a good grade. We were told there was going to be a curve. Unsure yet if it is gonna be a good curve.
LOTS of work. 100 question midterm and final
Sockovic is chill. Very easy class if you have the proper guidance and resources. Final grade was rounded from a B+ to an A.
The professor was quite laid-back. The class was decent, although the tests were a bit challenging with 100 questions to complete within a 2 hour timeframe.
Great Professor, curve went crazy. Exams are lengthy but overall the class is manageable.
Great ability to keep the lecture interesting, kept the class engaged. Did a great job explaining the material.
Professor Z was extremely knowledgeable which facilitated his ability to cascade information relevant to his area of expertise. Wonderful professor whose ability to organize curriculums allowed me to further gauge the material. Professional, articulate, and savvy! 10 Stars!
This class killed my 4.0 gpa.... and has a ton of work. It has a good curve, which is the only upside of the class. This class is good for people who have chegg i guess since im pretty sure the people who got an A had that.
Midterm 35, HW 25, Final 45. A fair professor, who doesn't take excuses. Don't expect to charm your way around missing assignments or fake computer issues. Tries his best to engage the students to participate but no one responds. Method of teaching isn't the best since everything is premade. Just do the HW & study. Math/Calculation heavy course.
Awesome professor that cares about the students. Everything is outlined on the syllabus. Don't listen to the bad reviews because most likely they are from people that did not put much effort in this class. Do your homework, attend the lectures, and STUDY!! Highly recommend Professor Zeljko.
This is a difficult subject regardless of who you take it with. But Professor Zeljko teaches it so you can understand. He truly cares about us doing well. Just show up to class, pay attention, review the material, do the homework and you should be just fine. I have nothing bad to say about him. Overall, a great professor!
I am happy I took ACC 3200 with Professor Zeljko. The material is difficult so you need to study a lot. He cares about participation and appreciates when the students contribute to the class. I would take another class with him.
Professor Zeljko has a very clear grading criteria. ACC 3200 is a difficult class and will require countless hours of studying, reading and hw. I found his lectures and guidance to be extremely helpful. Our class was constructed as follows: 25% HW, 45% final, 30% midterm.
Sockovic is a chill professor who makes the material engaging. The workload is heavy, but with the help of Unstuckstudy and a bit of effort, the class is manageable. Definitely worth taking!
The class is online and the professor had some technical issues at times. Most people didn't show up to any lectures as attendance is optional. Beware because the midterm and final both have 100 questions and you only have 2 hours to complete them. Luckily, it's all on Connect but Proctorio lockdown will be used. He will also call on random people.
he online class occasionally faces technical issues from the professor. Though over 100 students are enrolled, the exact number isn't shown. A major drawback is the exam format: 100 questions in 2 hours, all requiring calculations. Unless you're a genius or AI, finishing on time is tough. Exams are on Connect but monitored via Proctorio LockDown.
If you actually take the time to understand the lectures or textbook, this course is VERY easy. He sets you up to pass and you can tell he genuinely cares. Everything is straightforward, 100% recommend this guy
Great professor, easy to follow and seems like he really wanted us to learn
This course is what you'd expect from an accounting course in finance. His lectures to me seemed clear and he was open to questions. The work load is understandable and grades are very reasonable. I do recommend!
Not understanding at all, bad experience. Don't take him, if something happens to you during the semester and you are unable to take one of the exams he won't care even with legitimate proof.
His Wi-Fi was unreliable, and the audio quality made it hard to learn. However, he curves grades up, which is a plus
Professor Zeljko is amazing! Zoom attendance is not mandatory, which is super convenient. The tests are very straightforward. Homework can be a bit challenging, but it's manageable with effort. Sam assignments are very easy as well. Overall, a great professor who makes the class stress-free and enjoyable. Highly recommend!
Took this for an internship credit, it's a pass or fail class, just a few evaluation forms and a 4 page report about your internship due at the end of the semester. Prof Sockovic provides good feedback and is very helpful if you have any questions.
Tooked Cost this summer and regretted my decision. Our class was fully online and we were expecting the tests to be online. Exams got switched to in person for Acc 3200 starting this summer. My advice to slow pace learners: Don't take any 3000 lvl accounting courses in summer unless the exams is officially online.
The worst professor to exist, he expects us to do exams in an hour and do 100 questions with so many regulations to follow, such as turning the camera on and the mic on to be tracked, and any small movement can fail you for the entire semester! Way too strict, I'd definitely not recommend.
First ever review and I'm writing it to warn future students. This professor shows no interest in teaching. If you ask questions, he gets angry or ignores you. A week into class, he changed the midterm to a 100-question proctored webcam exam. I've never felt this much stress for a non-major class. Avoid if you value your health.
The midterm is 2 hours long with 100 questions, and more 50% of them require calculations. That's not a reasonable workload for the time given.
Tells you to ask questions but get angry when you do, gave exam with 100 questions and 120 minutes to complete, question has math problems which made it impossible to complete. Does not like teaching. Stay away from this class for your mental health.
This class was supposed to be a simple online class and its exactly why I took it. I am very busy and he just wants to make everyone's experience more difficult than it needs to be. BE AWARE, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HIM. He gets frustrated easily and overall not a good experience.
AVOID THIS GUY WITH ALL COST! not worth your time and don't fall into the same trap like me. missing out the real point of online classes trying to balance work and school but this guy didn't make it any easy for their student. 100 question midterm and final for 2 hours on a sunday?! not worth it, just don't or your gpa will teach you a lesson
horrible, just stopped responding to emails
Just avoid this guy if you don't want to get a rude, uninteresting, and test-heavy professor. This guy hates his job and wants everyone to hate their time at college as well. Get ready to answer 100 math questions on each exam while trying to stay sane. "This world shall know pain" - him, probably.
This professor is honestly the worst professor I have taken. He makes this class harder than it needs to be and it seems as if he wants you to fail. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS. this isnt me being dramatic this is be saving you from this horrendous class. Ive never failed a class but this might be the first.
STAY AWAY. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
I do not understand how he even works at Baruch. Awful professor and doesnt deserve his job. Do not take his class under any circumstances. He doesnt want you to succeed.
Unfair midterm and final exam requirements. 100 questions in 2 hours with 3 types of questions (multiple choice, fill in the blank and short responses) all of which require calculations that take a few minutes each to complete...NOT reasonable.
Do not take this professor if you want to do well in this class. Midterm was 100 questions in two hours with the camera on. Not enough time to complete. The same thing is being done for the final plus open ended questions. Understandably he is opposed to cheating, but the class is set up in a way which is hard for students to pass in general.
He acts like he's doing a favor teaching you. Has crazy attitude and a very condescending tone towards students. His handwriting is so sloppy, and his monotone voice puts you to sleep. Made the final 100 questions with both mc and fill in! Truly the worst professor I have experienced in 4 years of college and different cunys!
He is the absolute WORST professor I have ever had the displeasure of learning from. This dude has nothing but a crazy attitude, subpar teaching skills and unearned audacity. Getting a decent grade on his midterm is not an easy feat, 100 questions with calculations that take more than 1 minute to do. If you value your GPA, run FAST and FAR!
A lot of complaints seem to come from students who dislike his direct attitude, even though he's answering questions for 500 students with no TAs. Some people just don't want to take accountability for staying on top of their own work. Overall a good class if you know how to self study and take accountability.
The quizzes and exams were fair—camera on to prevent cheating, and 120 minutes for 100 online questions is reasonable. It's college. This is a self-study class, and if you take responsibility for yourself, you'll do well. Overall, a good class.
Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. The class is fully online and flexible. Yes, there was some midterm confusion, but the workload is manageable if you follow announcements, read the guidelines, and study consistently.
Didn't interact with him much. Stopped coming to his class a month into the semester. 2 hours for a 100 question midterm and final. Tests are online lockdown browser with camera on. Connect homework can be challenging but its accounting so that's expected. If you can find a better professor go for them instead.
Attitude is insane, 100 questions for the exams. he's taking his anger out on students.
Lectures are slow and boring. Flexible/lenient attendance policy. The required camera for tests makes it needlessly stressful, even if you an honest student. Nobody likes the feeling that they are being constantly watched.
He assigned 100 Qs for the midterm and final in order to prevent "cheating" super unfair to thouse who are honest and wish to do well.He also dismissed many of the students' questions, which discouraged any interaction I wanted to have with the professor. Doesn't answer questions properly and doesn't care about you at all. PLS CONSIDER YOUR OPTIONS
Gives 100 q for exams, that crazy work for someone who doesn't give much prep. basically study everything yourself
Dropped immediately after midterm, crazy policy of camera during a test. no one likes being watched since if its open notes. so much stress just avoid him
Never had to drop a class until my experience with the midterm. 100 questions in under 2 hours with the webcam on was very stressful and the update of adding cameras didn't help the slightest. He doesn't respond to questions. Even if he does, he answers in a rude manner. Please avoid at all costs!
Man... This was arguably one of the worst classes I have ever taken. You think a NON-MAJOR accounting class would be easy enough. It's not. Principles of Accounting was easier than this. He isn't the best at explaining lessons or answering other people's questions. Exams were 100 Qs at 120 mins, not enough time for tough calculation questions.
All those 5/5 stars is definitely fake because he is the worst prof I have ever had. 100 questions in 2 hours is insane and also with camera on which adds to the pressure. He is very passive aggressive and won't answer anyone's questions even though he asked if anyone had questions. Please don't take him!
Took him after seeing positive reviews for this fall semester. Not sure if the professor wrote them himself or what but after taking him, I'm guessing he probably did. It felt like he made this class hard for no reason, especially on the midterm & final.. Bro will monitor all your movements for a non major accounting class
I don't really know what else to say, the other recent reviews take the words out of my mouth
Don't, just Don't. I trusted rate my professor because of all the good reviews but after experiencing him myself, I would never take him again. His notes are sloppy on screen, and he gets mad when you ask questions. he's super paranoid about cheating. the textbook was not helpful either. If you value your GPA don't take him.
He goes above and beyond to catch cheaters on his exams. Lock down browser + camera on + 100 questions + gives less time on purpose. This class gave me severe anxiety. Why not just make the exams in person at that point? I'd rather have an actual proctor then get falsely flagged by proctorio for looking at my water bottle during an exam.
As a student, I feel like my voice should be heard. My opinion about this prof is that he is not fair to students and that's just how I feel.
I felt like this class was really way harder than it shouldve been, considering its an accounting class for non accounting majors.
i really tried my best in his class but he seemed to care more about stopping ai use than actually teaching the class well... i just wish he wouldve been more accommodating for us
His exams were so hard, it was 100 questions each and he only gave us 2 hours for it, alot of the questions were calculation questions and it was just so much. My FIN 3000 prof gave us 2 hours for just 32 questions, idk how hes allowed to do this
This class was honestly really difficult for me, I tried so hard but his teaching methods made it hard to keep up with the mass amount of material he covered during the tests.
Other reviews here say it all. His lectures felt rushed and I felt like it didnt help me learn anything. Be ready to teach yourself everything if you take this course.
i had such a bad time in his class. it was almost like he wanted to make things extra hard for us and i dont know why.
Where do I even start... his exams are EXTREMELY difficult, I studied hard and still felt lost during many of the questions. My recommendation would be to beware and think carefully before taking this course with him.
Everyone in the class was collectively lost, even the really good students just didn't know what was going on during lectures half the time. I regretted taking him, please think carefully before deciding to take this course.
omg i literally dont even know where to start. I just honestly think he wasnt fair to us and didnt even curve exams even though they were so long and difficult
his lectures didnt really help us learn much and i had to self teach myself everything. like why am i paying for a class if im teaching myself???
i honestly felt like i learned nothing the whole sem except for the things i tought myself, the exams were 100 questions and we had to use a proctoring software to take the exams while caused unnecessary stress.
This was a mandatory accounting class that I had to take for my degree reqs, even though im a finance major. This course was by far the hardest class Ive taken in college, the professors lectures barely taught me anything and I had to lock in and teach myself literally everything to even have a chance of passing his 100 question exams.
i wish i never took him... all the other reviews speak for themselves
He seemingly put all his time into trying to prevent AI use instead of actually teaching us. The final exam was absolutely ridiculous and even though I studied hard i didnt do very well because its 100 questions. Please think carefully before enrolling into his course.
I have no idea why I listened to the good reviews here before taking his class but I wish I didnt bc it went so bad, im just glad its all over now. Please read the reviews before deciding to take his class because it was so hard for me even tho im not an accounting major.
I ended up getting a B- but I thought I was going to do so much better, hes a very tough grader so be ready for that if you decide to take him. Overall, I didnt really like the class and wished I had taken someone else but it is what is. Learn from my mistakes.
I was barely even able to finish the final because it was 100 questions and we only had 120 mins to do it which made it so hard for me like i was rushing on every single question even though there was a bunch of calculation stuff. I wouldnt recommend
I attended every single lecture and still felt like I had to teach myself everything because of the massive amount of material covered in the exams. I still got a B+ but I wish I couldve just done a bit better considering the amount of work I put in.
I have no clue why he made the exams so long, 100 questions in 120 minutes is not fair to students and this is the only professor that has given such a long exam that i've taken and im going to be a senior next semester.
This was the first semester where I felt truly helpless in a course, I honestly had to teach myself everything and even though I did well in the end I really don't understand why students didn't get more resources, especially before his huge exams which have 100 questions.
Even though I got a good final grade in this class, I can tell you that it was not because of the prof. I taught myself almost everything and pulled so many all-nighters studying, I had to use outside sources to make study sheets for me because he didn't provide proper review sheets.
This class was extremely difficult, this prof really didn't seem to care much about our success and instead seemed more interested in preventing the use of AI. I hoped I would learn more but unfortunately I did not.
I felt lost during the lectures, it was like no one knew what was going on. If your gonna take him then just be ready to self teach mostly everything
Idk why I decided to take him but wow i regretted it alot cuz the exams are wilddd
bruh the whole class was lost like its a miracle i passed this barely lol
First of all, this class was way harder than it needed to be. We had 100 question exams that involved heavy calculations and we only had 2 hours to complete the whole thing. Students even complained to the department about it but they refused to do anything. I couldnt recommend him at all, youve been warned.
I failed his 2203 course even tho I attended almost every zoom lecture and did all the HW. I just wasnt able to finish the tests in time because there were soooo many questions with such little time. Ill have to take this class again but def with a dif prof.
The HW is all mcgraw hill connect, the class meetings were on zoom and it felt almost pointless to attend them because you could barely understand anything being taught. Please be sure that youre ready for this if youre going to take his course, its hard with very long exams and a little time span to take them.
I was convinced by some of the good comments here that he was great so I enrolled and was confident that I would do well, but the exams are so hard and long, theres like 100 questions and its all proctored with a camera that makes it even more nerve wracking.
Changed his syllabus 2 weeks into the semester. The exam format heavily prioritizes speed over understanding. With roughly 100 questions in 2 hours (keep in mind this is accounting), it felt nearly impossible to complete without rushing, doesn't curve btw. Self-studied and used the slides, his teaching style was ok, doesn't really answer questions.
My first RMP review, but VERY needed. Avoid this professor if you care about your GPA. Few assignments; midterm and final dominate. 2 hours for 100 questions (50 conceptual, 50 calculation). Many couldn't finish, and he didn't care. Lots of self-teaching in an intro accounting course. My first failed class, don't let it be yours.
This is one of the most difficult classes I've ever taken. Not enough time to complete exams with 100 questions. Managed an A- just barely. People in the class GC are slow, asking questions that can be answered in the syllabus or a quick google search. Only 25% got above a 90 on the final. Better professors out there. Would rather restart college.
good luck with this guy…this class should not have been as difficult as it was. i'd strongly recommend a different professor.
Non-accounting major course, but he makes it unnecessarily hard. Midterm/final: 100 questions in 120 minutes. Online lectures weren't helpful and teaching was unclear. Syllabus was changed after the semester started.
Online teaching is good, uses a lot of practice problems; class is mainly self learning. HW/online quizzes are easy. However, his exams are pretty tough, especially the final; midterm was calm though. 100 questions in 2 hours, half conceptual and calculations. Really high time pressure to prevent students from using ai.
Dude made an online class super difficult for no reason. I suggest everyone to pick a different professor if their courses are still open.
Avoid!! This class was insanely difficult and ridiculous for no reason. Basically self taught the entire course. The midterm and final were both 100 questions in 2 hours, proctored online with cams on. That is not enough time at all. Take another prof if you can, otherwise good luck.
Honest students didn't mind cameras, but the sudden camera-on rule for a 100-question exam affected us most. Many ran out of time while carefully working, and some were even scared to check notes for fear of being flagged. Also it is unfair he constantly kept comparing us to students who "finished with plenty of time"
Professor was nice enough to curve. Hard subject. Exams were mad extra, wouldn't recommend. Class GC was insane, full of people asking unnecessary questions and complaints. If you work smart, you'll get the grade you deserve in his class!
His class is easy if you study and do the work. You won't pass if you don't do the work. He is very accommodating if you email him. I've seen worse accounting professors and and he's not bad.
Please do yourself a favor and dont take this class
Professor made this class harder than it is already I strongly recommend taking another professor for this class
Do not take his class. His attitude towards exams is more stressful than the actual course and the course is EXTREMELY stressful. Save your GPA. Save your mental health. Run for your lives.
Self-taught mainly, the exam format (100+ Q, proctored) is nerve-wracking but still manageable. His slides and lectures were mediocre but anything still helped. Accounting is a hard subject, but if you work efficiently (and ignore your course GC)−easy A. Visit tutoring if you need help. Skill issue on everyone who didn't pass with flying colors.
The course grade is largely based on two heavily proctored exams worth 35% each, with about 100 questions per exam. Much of the learning requires independent study, so staying on top of the material is essential. The exams are difficult since you have 2 hours. Some feedback throughout the semester would have been helpful. Expect to practice a lot.
I don't know who are the people leaving these good reviews. Do your research properly before you choose to commit to this class.
The reviews are obviously fake Dont believe into them and choose another professor
Yea don't recommend at all, unreasonable amount of questions for exam. You get about 83 seconds per question, and they are mostly calculations so I don't know if he thought we were robots or something. Good luck to you if you do decide to take him. All he says is “this is easy stuff guys”. This course is for non accounting majors btw
