What a refreshing and fantastic teacher and class this is. I never liked math (EVER!) I took this class to fulfill requirements and Oh Surprise. Mrs Low is fantastic! I can say I'm in love with math now and I understand it thanks to her. Lots of homework and quiz every week. Do both and you'll do just fine! :) She's hilarious too. Overall great!
Took her for pre calc during a 6week summer quarter. Got a B prob would have done better if it were a regular quarter. She is awesome! Really knows how to teach the material. Fair amount of work and tests are very much alike the homework so do it!
I never understood math at all before I had Sofya as a teacher, but now i understand algebra soo much better! she's funny and very clear when she teaches. Going to class everyday is important because there is a lot of material to cover. Text book is never used, just buy the MyMathLab code and you will be good.
Good teacher
Very good teacher. Go to class and do the work and you will be fine. Its a math class not ceramics! Not easy but she teaches clearly and effectively. Grading is based on tests and quizes but its all based from the home work.
Professor Low is extremely good at teaching, go to her lectures and you'll definitely learn. Keep up with the homework, and ask questions right away. Do the review problems before the quizzes and you'll do great. Midterms are not difficult if you study, possible to get an A. She's a great teacher I'd definitely recommend her.
Her Math 105 class is easy! No TI-83s/TI-84s allowed in her math class, though She does have online quiz and midterm practices and will have one for the final. My only problem is that students in her math class were very disruptive and slowed the class down. Currently I have an A- in the class and hoping to take Ms. Low again in the future!
Great teacher, helpful, always give advices to us on how to improve your skills, there will be quiz on every week, you can send email to her if you have any question. She is teaching me on 48A class, there is no surprise in any test, all come from the homework you have been doing.
Can I say best teacher ever? She will go out of her way and bend over backwards to help you so long as you show her that you care about your grade. I wish I could take all my math classes from her. She is extremely clear w/lectures, the quizes are entirely based on the homework and if that wasnt enough she puts up a review before EVERY quiz & test.
Makes math easy, third time taking this class too. HOWEVER, will shoot you down and make you feel crappy if you repeat a question in class. repeat as in asking again for CLARITY and CONFIRMATION. but a good teacher overall.
The best math professor at foothill. Just pay attention in class that you will learn everything you need!
She is the best math teacher I've ever had! Gives you everything you need to know to get an A+! Just do all the homework, pay attention during the class, and do all practice quizes! And you'll get an A+! I wish all teachers were like her! Also she does a great job connecting different concepts together.
She is by far the best Math Teacher I have ever had, her explanations of formula and how to slove them make math extremely easy, before her I didn't think I would be able to pass now I am getting a B in her class. Her quizez and test are very similar and their is very little use of the txt book.
shes a great teacher. she is a bit rude when u ask questions but if you pay attention thier will be no need for extra questions. buying the text book by experience is a waiste of ti,e with just her examples and homework is more than enough. (and notes duh) i will try and take her again for 105! she knows what shes talking about
Sofya Low is an amazing professor! Her explanations are very clear. If you do all of the assignments and really pay attention in class(!), you will learn a lot. I wish she taught Precalculus III and Calculus!
Absolutely fantastic Math teacher! She takes the time to explain things in different ways to ensure that everyone understands. She is fair, nice, funny, and not boring at all. Highly recommend her! And totally wish she was teaching 48C this quarter...
very helpful, she cares a lot about her students!
She is so awesome! All those complicated math definitions are made clear through her way of explaining it. She isn't exactly the easiest teacher but she is so helpful and really wants you to do well. Absolutely take her. You will surprisingly enjoy math!
She is an awesome professor! She is on your team and wants to help you succeed in Math. Im currently enrolled in her Math 105 class, and it's going great so far! Come to class, take good notes, and you will succeed!
Sofya was AMAZING!!! I came into this class terrified of math cause ive never been good at it in the past, but at the end of the quarter I felt more confident in my math ability. Sofya is the best teacher ive had at foothill. She really wants all her students to succeed. If you need to take math 105, take her!! you wont regret it.
Good job. She is nice and helpful and she will list a lot of example for us. gooooooooood!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sofya was by far the best teacher I've ever had. She teaches by first informing and then giving A LOT of examples. Super helpful and extremely nice. She also has a great sense of humor. Really bummed she doesn't teach all of my other math classes! I would take her again in a heartbeat!
Sofya is very helpful and a great teacher. I was lucky to have had her! She extends her help to you even when you continue on to other classes which shows she really cares about her students..
Sofya is amazing. I've learned more in 10 weeksin her class than in four years in high school. I'm not done yet, but so far I've been acing all the tests because of her examples and weekly quizzes- sounds awful but they make you learn the material. Sucks that there is two midterms and a final on top of all those quizzes but you definitely learn!
I"m taking her this summer, and I was surprised she managed to teach me in half an hour what other instructors tried for years! She is definitely the best teacher I've ever had!
I honestly don't know why she has so many positive reviews. She is a Harvard grad teaching at Foothill she is obviously hard on her students. Take her if you are good are memorization and have a lot of time on your hands. NO CALCULATORS/NOTES this lady blows. If you are not good at math consider another community college to take it at.
Fantastic, absolutely fantastic. She may be hard on you, in a condescending manner, but it is because she knows what is best for you. Definitely the most clear and fair teacher at Foothill. Highly reccomended!
best teacher ever!!
The only negative thing I can say about Mrs. Low is that she grades insanely hard but, that's only for our benefit. Make sure to learn from the quizzes to get A's on the midterm. Its impossible to get an A in her class if you don't get A's or high B's on the midterms. And her midterms aren't difficult. And, never question her accuracy!
If you need help go to her. I know she may seem unapproachable, but she is willing to help you. Do your homework, study, and take her advice and you will do well. She gives weekly quizzes to give you feedback before the midterm. Although this may seem like a bad thing, it is actually quite helpful.
She seems fast pace, and if i didnt take trig before, i wouldnt know what she is talking about, but overall I really like her. she teaches exactly what is on her tests, i wish all teachers could be like her. she is clear and gets things done!!! take her. and dont be afraid to talk to her. but you do have to buy the book and mymathlab
Very nice professor. She clearly states what's going to be on the test. Just review what she tells you.
Sofya really cares about her students, and is willing to go the extra mile for them to succeed. She is direct and explains things clearly. If she was teaching 48B this coming semester, I'd take her class again in a heartbeat!
She is the best math teacher on campus, if I could I would want her for all of the pre calc/calculus series! I love her she truly does care about her students doing well. She tries her best in helping all the students but if you are not willing to put in effort then prepare to get a low grade. Definitely recommend her to anyone struggling in math
Like others have said below she truly cares about her students and there success and takes her job seriously to prepare you for calculus. Quizzes (almost every week) and exams are fair and you always know what to expect (no surprises). Go to reviews because she basically tells you exactly whats on the test. I recommend!
She is very clear. If you follow her, doing hw and not to be absent, then you will get a good grade. But, not that easy.
Great instructor! Clear explanations, helpful handouts and lecture notes. Don't expect not to study, though..
Found her to be intimidating. Strict grader. Good at explaining but scary to ask questions. Class is extra difficult if you are not good at math. No notes for exams.
she gives many examples on how to do a problem which makes things confusing. If she believes you're not doing her online stuff she becomes sort of an unfair grader on test and won't even give you some credit. Not very helpful either, there's a lot of self teaching if you want to pass. The class is fast pace, there's a quiz every week
I took this professor for 48B over the summer. Her lectures usually consist of her giving you a bunch of example problems that she solves for you. Overall i really liked her teaching style, she is really nice and helpful. I would take her again if i could!
I took her class twice and she was by far the best math teacher I've had. I've never seen a professor teach so clearly and concisely. Moreover, her tests are very fair; no surprises. However, she is a picky grader, so you still must master the material, but it's only to make you stronger for calculus. You are very fortunate if you take her class!!
Always there for you whenever you need help. She can be a bit stubborn about the ways to solve a problem, I guess she just won't let u confused the other students. Tbh, didn't like her at the beginning of the class, she's tough on grading, but once u get the way n format she likes, u will do well. Highly recommand, best teacher 4 48 C
There is no point going to her class that's all i wanna say because u wont learn a lot from her. She cant be teaching its just a waste of time believe me
Bad at teaching and not very helpful at all!
Worst teacher ever
it is a waste of time to take her class, she does not explain anything clearly and does not talk about math and expects the students to know every tiny little thing about the chapters when she does not put in any effort at all to help her students. AVOID TAKING THIS TEACHER AT ALL COSTS SHE IS TERRIBLE
The worst teacher that i have ever seen in my life! Don't take her!
Found her to be hotcold about her classes. It seemed like she has very little faith left in students today. Could be discouraging at times. A LOT OF WORK. Its good to have a lot of practice, but if your a full time student and have a job, the requirements tend to become quite overwhelming. I would choose someone more practical in the future.
2nd time taking the class, took before with a different teacher. Now I actually get it. I don't know why those last reviews were so bad, probably the same guy since it just says the same things five times in a row, bitter. This is precalculus not prealgebra! Only math teacher ever that let me turn in HW late when I worked late. Totally helped me!
I have always been pretty average with math, but this professor was really helpful with showing the quicker and easier way to work through math problems. She comes off a little rough but she only has the best interest in you to pass her class the first time.
I learned so much in Sofya's class and I didn't even know how much until I got to Calc. 48C was def good training. I got the trig and I got how to use math in calc. Sofya helped me even in 1A when I wasn't even her student anymore. I don't know what would have happened if she didn't!
Sofya is amazing!! I never got an A in math before now. She explained things in a way I understand. and she helped me after class when I didn;t get somethiing. AND the quizzes and tests always matched the homework. If you go to class you will get it.
I learned more in Sofya's class than in any other math class. She was tough on us at first but I just finished 1A so now I know why. She knows her stuff! If I could take her for 1B I would in a second!
I wish she was teaching Math 105 again ! I LOVED her class last quarter , her personality is amazing and her teachings even better , if you are looking for the perfect teacher , you found her !
SHE IS AMAZING. Everybody should take her class. Explanations are really clear, and quizzes and exams are relatively easy. I mean, she won't test you on what she didn't teach in class. Just do supplemental homework problems(from the textbook) & handouts, and you'll be fine. No group work in her class.(AWESOME!) I wish she were teaching MATH1A & 1B.
Ms Low is an amazing teacher! She is there to help you & she cares a lot about her students. Her explanations are crystal clear and she gives a lot of examples. As long as you don't skip class and do all the supplemental HWs, you will get an easy A. Tests are easy because everything is based on the things you learn in class. NO SURPRISES!
I would be taking her for calculus 1 if I could. She truly cares about every one of her students. Every quiz and exam you get back comes tons of great feedback. If you are deciding between her and another teacher, take her!!
Sofia makes it very clear that you will not pass her class unless you spend 25+ hours outside of class studying. Her midterms are straightforward, but if you do not do the supplemental, webassign, and handout homework, you will not pass. You really have to give yourself a lot of time to understand the material. She's not the easiest grader either.
Crystal clear lectures. Complains like there's no tomorrow though. She's really meticulous about certain things but it's in preparations for exams and future classes. People give her bad reviews but I honestly think she's pretty fair. Just put in the time to know the concepts and you'll be okay. Super lenient when it comes to extensions on homework
Based on my experience in her algebra 1 and 2 classes, I think that she is a great algebra teacher. I took math over the summer and I enjoyed her class. She cares about her students and she will do everything she can to help you pass the class. I would recommend her for math 210 or 105, although I haven't taken her for 1A,1B or 1C.
Great teacher always willing to help and is super thorough for all her lectures. As long as you pay attention in class and do some practice problems by yourself you will pass the class no problem.
Great math teacher. Her explanations are very clear and what she discussed in class will appear in her quizzes and midterms, so there should be no surprises. She makes the class seemed tough, but it really isn't. If I could take her again, I would. If you do the HW & exercises and take notes in class, you will definitely get good grades.
She has her own methods to teach and it's much easy to understand. She cares about homework and practice by yourself. I didn't get good grade on 3 exam, two midterms and finals, but she saw my improvement in each quizz and exam. So she still lets me pass it. Just work hard and show your good attitude and improvement to her. Best math professor.
We spent most class days taking notes so if you're someone that learns the best taking notes, this is the professor for you. Her examples are clear, she writes indepth notes. Unfortunately, I found after taking her class that I am a learner that does better during group activities and working on problems in class. If youre a note taker, take her!
I was previously attending a 4 year university before coming to Foothill, where I failed a math class equivalent to 220/105 two times. I was hopeless in math ever since high school but Sofya helped me so much. I can't believe I actually understood this material after all this time because of her! So bummed she's not my 105 prof this term.
Not that different from every teacher even though she detests foothill and the faculty for not caring. She still assigns problems from the book (which she hates). I see the quality in her but I would stray from this class if you are looking for a grade. This would make a good workshop alongside 48C. Feed back exists but its not diverse.
She will expect you to know every detail of every math class you ever took. She will panic that you don't know the subject but won't actually help you. She's not mean but she's very sparse with all of her explanations. If you need more detailed explanations for math don't take her class.
Super easy, you will fail everything but pass.
She's great to be honest. I dropped it with W because I wasn't ready for a midterm. Her explanation is clear, but it's math and you need to practice at home. working full time, it was hard for me to do that with other classes.I'll take her in summer. She lets you know that she is there for you even if you're taking other instructor. no surprises.
She is a really good teacher.
I have taken her class multiple times, her class is difficult, but she teaches really well. She is a hard working professor, she starts the class as soon as she arrives. Usually there is a quiz every Friday. Once, she spent an hour going going over my final during her office hours after the quarter was over! She explained all of my mistakes.
This is a great great teacher I have ever met!! Yep, she is a tough grader, but I promise you would learn more than math in her class. She cares about your future and tell you something beyond the math. If you do EVERY worksheet and homework, the quiz and the exam would NO surprised for you!! Just make sure you do EVERY step on the question!
I work much better without the stress of having to speak up or work in groups, and her class is all lecture so I could really focus on learning the way I wanted. She's very nice, and I got the impression that she really cares about her students. If you work better when you can collaborate with others, don't take this class.
Math is my most hated subject but Sofya made it really easy for me to be motivated and to learn the material. She is very friendly. All of her homework for 220 was online and the lectures really helped. Attendance isn't part of your grade but you definitely should not miss class. I'm taking her class again for 105.
I didn't love math, because when I wouldn't understand it, I would give up. In Sofya's class I could understand everything and really enjoyed it.
Hard to follow, and gets irritated easily. Had to drop this class. Taking the same class with a different teacher this quarter, and towards the end of the quarter I have a high A in the class and have aced all exams.
willing to help. Sometimes goes off-topic during lectures & she talks a lot, so I had to do my best to filter out the needed math info from unnecessary opinions & comments. She's knows her stuff. U will work but u will learn.105 moves quick- don't miss class. A quiz a week. Extends HW assignment due dates which is cool. Take notes and don't sleep.
She teaches a lecture style course. There is a textbook and she uses mymathlab for homework which will show you how to do the problems, but if you really want to pass you should attend all of her classes because she has a lot of tips and tricks to make it easier. If you take the time to do the hw and study guides you should be able to pass.
Sofya is the only teacher at Foothill who was a mentor for me. She took extra time to help me with the math also with other school questions. All of the tests match the HW so if you do the practices you will know what is on them. She helped me so much!
I have never had a professor like Sofya. I took 48C from her last year and she still helps me in Calculus. I don't think I would pass without her. She was tough in Precalc but that all helped for Calc. I wish she was teaching 1C.
I actually like math now. No one ever explained to me the way Sofya does. I wish I took it from her the first time. She helped me after class to figure out problems. If you write down examples in class you will be able to do homework. I failed with first teacher but when I took it from Sofya I got a B and I understand it.
Shes an amazing teacher!! I had her for MATH 220/105 and I did perfectly fine. Shes not going to had you an A so you gotta work for it. She gives practice questions for her quizzes/exams/final and if you them, you dont have to worry for them at all. Her class is easy to manage when it comes to time and shes super caring. 105 was a little harder
Professor Sofya is one of the best math teacher I've seen. She will teach you one of the easiest way to tackle math. Weekly quizzes and a lot of homework, but her quizzes and exams are all modeled after the questions in the homework. If you want to do well, listen in class and do your homework! Her lecturers are pretty funny too.
Sofya is one of the best Math professors I've ever had. She teaches you the easiest ways to do math. She has QUIZES EVER WEEK but to prepare you for the MONTHLY TEST!! There is probably homework every other day so its not that hard. She's very flexible, if you couldn't do your homework just email her and she will extend the homework for you.10/10!!
Dr. Low is one of the best, she truly prepares you for your future calculus courses. She is a teacher that will stick with you through your math career and help you in any future class. Truly awesome and inspiring.
Sofya's class is super organized, and there are plenty of opportunities to figure out what's going on and do well on the tests (even if you're bad at math!) She does go too quickly in lecture sometimes, but if you do the worksheets, homework, study your quiz mistakes, you'll do just fine.
Amazing teacher. Exams are from your weekly quizzes, no surprise questions. Shes very caring: always willing to push back homework if you just ask, gives extra credit, and drops a quiz she thinks the class did bad on even after she drops your lowest quiz. Her lectures are heavy, her class will get tiring but its worth it. DO PRACTICE WORKSHEETS!
Ive taken multiple classes with professor Low. She cares for her students, puts much trust into her students and the respect should be returned. I think that she teaches very tough material, which makes the class hard. But the way that the class is structured is great. I would gladly take her class again.
Best professor I've ever had. She makes lectures feel light and easy. Explains everything really clearly. On top of that, she's really funny and it doesn't seem like she tries too hard to do that. Not too much hw either. Would definitely take her again.
Sofya is THE BEST math professor I have every had. I can tell that she genuinely cares about every single student she has and she also puts in so much effort. All of her quizzes, handouts, solutions, lecture videos, extra practice videos are all on canvas so everyone has plenty of resources and material.
Seriously incredible teacher. Really shows that she cares about her students and their futures in stem. Also very funny in class and makes sure the lecture isn't boring.
She isnt at all a horrible teacher but she was extremely hard to follow. Taking notes on her live lectures is literally impossible because she moves so fast. Her hand writing is also a little hard to read. I ended up dropping this class after the second zoom meeting because I knew it wasnt a fit for me. Theres more but thats the gist of it.
Prof Sofya genuinely changed my outlook on math. Her lectures are engaging and she breaks down complicated concepts brilliantly. Weekly quizzes, homework problems, two midterms, and one final. Quizzes are fairly low stakes and she never throws material that she did not cover in the midterms/final. This is not an easy class, but I learned SO much.
If you consider math to be a stressful subject, I'd advise against taking Professor Low. She can be pretty condescending and moves extremely quickly. If you do have to take her don't do it during a quarter where you'll miss lectures due to holidays, you'll never hear the end of it.
I find Professor Low as a very kind professor, but her style of teaching is just not for me. She expects you to have learned every topic she teaches her handwriting is extremely difficult to read. Her lectures are fast pace and I hate how old school she is at teaching. EVERYTHING is on paper. It's my fault for not dropping this class any sooner.
Professor Low was amazing! I took her for online Calc 1A and she did a good job despite having to teach through Zoom. Expectations were clear, although sometimes she was rushed in her lectures and didn't have enough time to explain things. Super, super accommodating. Grading is made for you to succeed. She offered to not count certain quizzes.
Professor Low assigns a lot of homework and has weekly quizzes, however, the quizzes are worth a fraction of your grade and are the same problems you will see on the tests. The feedback given on these is very thorough. She cares about students learning the material and if you show her that you are doing the work she assigns, she will be flexible.
Took this &1A back in fall-winter 2021-(2). Prof Low was not only amazing at teaching and explains extremely well, she went above and beyond to help me out with extra time and getting a diagnosis (sorry TMI). There was never a time of unapproachability, and she even had two different systems to be more flexible. Also, lots of feedback! Great prof!
I do not understand why her rating is so good, her canvas formatting is awful. Her grade criteria is clear and gives you the option to not do homework but if you cant afford the website she uses then you better hope your good at math.
She is very particular about her grading and will get on you for the tiniest mistake. Dont expect more than the bare minimum response.
I took her for math 1B. I'm a 3.83 GPA student who got an A- in calc 1 previously. Prof Low targeted me. She was overly critical on my math. She would take points off for "showing too much work" on quizzes and exams. I would be thorough AND CORRECT but she would write paragraphs on my graded quizzes berating me for my methods and display of work.
Here is an honest review of someone who is an average student who studies when they can. I will agree and disagree with a few things. 1. Her quizzes and test are long 2. Although they are long, they are exactly like the worksheets 4. You truly only need to do the worksheets to get an A . 5. Yes she is a hard grader but not enough to make you do bad
You will fail even if you know how to do calculus. She takes points off correct answers if it's not done exactly how she wants it. Otherwise, take a different class. Also, she will never respond to your emails, so go to office hours or fail. She doesn't accept constructive criticism on her teaching either, so don't even bother.
Only time I've ever had to drop a class in my FOUR years of college. This class delayed my graduation by another 6 months, and which is going to cost me thousands of extra dollars at my university. She tried to reassure me I could still pass even though all my tests were Ds and Fs. I don't think so.
She kinda grades you however she feels like. She has a grading scale but doesn't follow it.
I took her for MATH 1B and hands down the most cunning and deceiving prof of all time. She grades however she wants to. BLANTENTLY DISREGARDED A FORMULA AND SAID DOESNT EXIST. SO EVERYONES USING A FAKE FORMULA IG. I made my other math prof check my final and he said its 90+ easily. she gave me a 47%.
very bad hand writing, lectures honestly sort of make no sense but are still extremely long. always sounds sort of condescending, and always says stuff every concept like "if you don't know this then you should not be in this course"
My experience with Professor Sofya Low was disappointing. Communication was lacking, with messages often ignored. Low's teaching style was rigid, veering off-topic frequently. Grading seemed unfair and biased, with no consistency. Overall, I advise against taking her courses due to a lack of professionalism and poor teaching quality.
Not necessarily my style of professor, but I can appreciate the hard work she puts into teaching.
Sofya Low was one of the best math teachers I've had ever. Be prepared to take meticulous notes during her lectures, but she gives quite good feedback and only tests on what she teaches. Her quizzes are graded harshly but aren't worth much. She grades exams relatively leniently. She's very particular about graphs and formatting. Learned a lot!
Prof. Low is the best teacher EVER. She really teaches & Cares a lot about students and wants to give good grades. Expects you to do your FAIR share. Grades the quizzes really tough, but it counts less. Grades the Exams and the FInal just right, they count a lot more. Ask for help & she will help a lot. Participate & Thrive! Thank you, Prof. Low!
Blunt but genuinely cares about her students and their success. Offers deals to allow you to get a better grade than you otherwise would have if, for instance, you get xxx on the final. Good teacher, lectures are thorough and she allows adequate time to work on mid-lecture problems.
Professor Low has a specific teaching style, but if you engage with it, the class works well. The lectures are valuable, and unstuckstudy can be a helpful study tool alongside the textbook. Attend class, do the work, and you'll likely succeed.
I could respect how much effort she puts into teaching but I will say it's not okay how you can literally fail quizzes despite getting answers correct.completely unfair and delusional grading criteria!!!
I never write RMP reviews but I needed to write one for this professor. She discredits any method except for the ones that she uses, and videos are HOURS long and somewhat useless. If you don't follow the EXACT steps that she uses in lectures, be ready to fail. You can get all answers correct and still fail because it's not up to her standards.
This professor is very harsh. Coming from someone who doesn't believe most RMP ratings, she is not a good professor. All I will say is that her grading criteria is nonexistent and absolutely delusional. I got all answers right with correct methods, and failed my test. Don't take this class unless you absolutely need to. Hope this helps!
She is a good professor and a hardworking individual. Her grading can be quite challenging because she has a unique style of teaching math, which you need to follow. Be prepared for a 5-minute meeting to demonstrate that you created your quizzes. Her videos are lengthy, but they are also engaging and make you feel as in an in-person class. Thanks.
She's very kind, but her grading system needs work. She requires email submissions with notes written on the file instead of using Canvas. My files appear attached when I send them, but she later says they aren't, and when I check, they're gone. I've had no issues with Canvas in other classes. I'd take her class again if she used Canvas.

-highly difficult requires you to email her weekly quizzes to 3 different emails when we should be submitting them on canvas -sends a ton of emails (50 minute video of complaining about how much grading) -thinks everyone is wanting to do calc 1-4 -I would not recommend if your looking for a basic calc 1 class to fulfill credit at a University.
Expects WAY too much. Girl this is an online summer calc class at Foothill College. No prof I've ever had cared if you drew a line through ur zeros or didn't simplify to the PRETTIEST answer, but she does. Lecture = 180+ min rambling/complaints. Grading = nitpicking. Take if you know nothing abt calc + have 200% to give, otherwise it's suffocating.
i genuinely despise her and don't understand the high rating. she unbearably nitpicks. docks points for writing too small... not only was my handwriting NOT small, but assignments are submitted ONLINE. perhaps shes too lazy to zoom in? she expects a WHOLE page for one-line answers, redrawn graphs until flawless, and has redundantly long lectures.
The worst math teacher. Even if you may know the subject to its core, she unnecessarily takes points if the work and answer format are not to her liking. She always talks about how this is a college class and not a high school class to justify her fuss. Wake up. You're an instructor at a Calculus 1 class at a community college. Would NOT recommend.
As long as you follow lectures, notes, and work through her assigned worksheets/ HW (which are not graded), you will do good on her quizzes and exams. She is clear about what she expects of you, and gives great feedback on your quizzes/ exams, just be very mindful of how she wants you to format the work and answers. Lectures are on lengthy side.
A lot of responsibility falls on you, if you keep up, this class is fairly easy. Wkshts not graded. Quizzes exams on ur own and graded strictly, but grading itself isn't biased, she expects EXACTLY whats from her notes. I appreciate individual feedback she provides for each student, overall this was a good class, she is a respectful teacher.
amazing professor
This was a good class. The quizzes and exams were all on the worksheets and the professor recorded lots of videos with tons of hints and explained it very clear. Overall great experience and it is very possible to get an A if you try.
