I don't recommend a freshman taking her in your first semester. She knows her stuff but wasn't my cup of tea. Spends most of class going over the class before's homework, which would be nice, but then crams a whole new lesson in the last 10 mins. Shes generous with extra credit but left me dazed and confused after most classes.

She is an amazing professor. If anyone says she sucks, it's because they were lazy students. She really wants all her students to succeed. She's always available during her office hours so I recommend going if you need the extra help. She gives partial credit except for the final and also gives a lot of extra credit. Highly recommend for Econ 205.

Her teaching style is way more difficult than necessary. She rambles and makes jokes towards students that come across as rude. She comes late to class almost every day and leaves only the last 10 minutes to introduce new topics. More than 1/2 my class was retaking it which she bragged about. I HIGHLY recommend taking this course with anyone else.

I took this class as an incoming freshman, my first exam I nearly failed but by the time I took the final, I was completely prepared and received an A. This is a class you must show up to every lecture, don't hesitate to ask endless questions (I'm not joking), do the homework and take time doing it so you fully understand it, the homework helps!!

OMG! I loved Professor Farsanesh! She is incredibly funny and caring. She may pick on you but it ONLY because she cares about you as a student. And she is happy to have some banter. She really wants you to success and while you will have homework due every day, its not graded and is minimal. She is a fantastic professor truly one of a kind.

I took her class online, and I do not recommend you do that. She refuses to record her lectures so you have nothing to refer back to. Understanding her is difficult because her English is not clear and she just made the class really difficult. She sometimes refuses to go over things because she expects you to understand them.

I had this class, the fall semester of 2020, & everything was online. The class was only 4 grades total, & all 4 grades were exams. In my opinion, that was the main issue with the class. In addition, for many classes we had, she would go over the HW's for about 30 minutes+, & the class was 50 minutes total. Those two details are the main highlight.

Reasons to not take her class: - She does not record the online lectures (This is a math class) - She does not provide any study guides for exam review - She does not provide any lecture slides for us to review while studying - She will want you to depend on the homework material AND the 8:30 am lecture that she does not record.

Yes english is her 3rd? I think language, but considering her English is really solid and she is low-key very funny once you start to understand her ridiculous metaphors. If you do the few nongraded HW Q's she asks you to do between classes, it helps reinforce the material tremendously. Really cares about her students and can be very fun.

From lack of coherent graded homework, to the fast paced teaching WITH a heavy accent, to aspect of your grade being revolved around exams; this is a class I would 100% steer clear of when completing classes for your major.
