Great new professor at De Anza. she goes the extra mile to help her students understand. Fair grader, let's you know ahead of time what she expects. as long as you come to class and do the assignments and review you will pass with an A. She is very sweet and very understanding but don't take that as meaning she is a pushover just straightforward.

I really enjoyed her teaching methods.

Sohini was probably my favorite professor at De Anza solely because you could tell she loved what she was teaching! She's a first year professor so she's still finding a solid way of teaching the material but she definitely listens to feedback from students and makes class super interactive and fun!

Wow! I'm so glad I took Professor Dutt's class this quarter! She is extremely bubbly and you can tell right from the get go you can tell that she REALLY cares about her students! Not only that, she's also flexible, lenient on grading, and definitely willing to work with you! I can't think of any reason as to why you wouldn't take her class! :)

New professor at De Anza. Class was somewhat informative, but she can venture off topic at times. Recommended for non-science people looking to complete their science GE.

Very easy class. As long as you attend and pay attention, you should pass with an A. The professor is incredibly nice and takes feedback on her lectures. LOTS and LOTS of videos, I'd say half of the class was her playing videos. She played The Gods Must Be Crazy and handed out chocolate at the end of the quarter.

One of the very few professors that PASSION for teaching a subject shows all the TIME!! Can never tell if she has had a bad day, she will turn anything into a joke !! I did not miss one class, her silly jokes always made me laugh! Great instructor OVERALL :) Thank you for a wonderful quarter of Geo 1! You are amazing, never give up your passion!!

Sohini Dutt is the kindest teacher at DeAnza. There is a good amount of in class work, but almost no take home work. There are 2 midterms and 1 final. Geography is not my favorite subject but she made this class enjoyable! She has this cute sense of humor that I enjoyed all of fall quarter. She is clear and makes sure we understand everything.

Sohini is amazing! Class is fun and all notes are posted online to help with studying. Tests are good and gives a study guide too. She shows movie clips and makes geography fun. Super nice but boring, skipped probably 5 classes because she posts the powerpoints online. EVERY TEST QUESTION IS A STUDY GUIDE QUESTION. Gives "practice questions" on chapters and pulls the test questions straight from them. Cute and funny and always is there to help. Lets you turn in assignments late (even tho she doesn't say it) DONT BUY BOOK

Wow, the most polite respectful person I've ever met. If you study after class a medium bit, easy A. The midterm and final has a study guide, (recommend using it) I memorized all of it and, well easy A. Finished both tests in about 12 minutes each. To break the boredom she will notice it and play a geo-minded video but they're fun and interesting.

Dutt is a very easy teacher. To be honest, going to her lectures are not a necessity. Right before a test, she puts a study guide on her page. This study guide has about 50 or so questions, most of which are on the test. So if you can complete the study guide, you can get an A in her class.

Only reason why you won't get an A+ in this class is if you don't actually do the practice questions and not know the extra thing she's gonna add. If you do the practice ?'s and know an extra that she's gonna ad(like a map) you'll get an A+ unless you do the practice questions wrong. She's an amazing teacher. She want u to learn. Please respect her

I took this prof for Physical Geo and World Regional Geo. She is such a great professor. I enjoyed the lectures and videos that accompanied it. There is not much homework so that is good. The 3 non cumulative exams are easy if you prepare for it. She gives u a review sheet that helps you study and it REALLY helps. I learned so much about countries.

I love this prof! She is so down to earth and has a passion for geography. She obivously has so much experience cuz she shares her stories of her travels. Took her Physical Geo and World Regional Geo. 2 exams and 1 finals are easy cuz she prepares you well for it with study guides. I found her lectures to be very interesting and fun. Take her!!

BEST INSTRUCTOR EVER. You take away some interesting study techniques from her. I now use crossword puzzles to study for my Calculus and Chemistry exams thanks to her. Overall, you'll feel like you time traveled back to elementary school, so enjoy it while it last. Fun class with exam study guides that are sample test so do those once or twice.

Professor Dutt is really nice and respects every student in her class. Her lecture is normal but sometimes she gives us the chance to play map games of every continent. She has no extra credit, but the homework is very easy. She prepares all the study guides before the exams if you study for it, it would be an easy A for you

I took her this past fall quarter. Whatever is on her power points is on the exam. The study guide she hands out is literally the exam, question per question. There were some group presentations along the way. Her lectures can be a snooze fest. Nonetheless, she is sweet and very invested in making sure you get an "A".

I really appreciate this class. It is simple and straight-forward. The class takes into consideration that English is not your first language, you have a busy schedule (such as kids, work, and other things), or face an obstacle that affects your ability to learn or pay attention. Overall a fair grader and you just need to study the material.

In most of the classes, we watched many interesting videos that make us want to travel the world! There are 4 in class and 4 hw that are easy. We have to write 2 paper 750 each but she grades easily (follow the guideline). Exams are exactly what's in the study guide. Study that and don't ever worry about anything else.

She is a good professor, and her class is easy to get A. Students just study her study guide and they can get good grade. Plus, she found a lot of interesting videos to help students learn academic knowledge, which was very helpful.

This winter quarter was my first quarter. I heard from my friend that her class is easy, so I took her class. She gave us practice questions before every tests. So if you study practice questions, you can get full score! We watched many videos. Also, we did group projects with classmates.

Easy A class for sure. Her exams are 99% similar to her study guide. If you spend time on the study guide, it's not hard to get full grades on exams. Lots of videos and interesting stuff in class, sometimes I feel like I don't even need my brain in this class. You will definitely need to take her class if your other classes are heavy.

really easy A class. The tests are basically the exact copy of the study guides, and you only need to submit 2 discussion papers. she's really nice and funny. lectures can be boring, but anything for an A!

Please enroll in this course, it can definitely boost up your GPA. Whenever she starts a new topic, you have to do a small presentation with your group. Homework is easy and everything is easy. She is a great teacher who is willing to befriend you. You should come to the lesson every day since the lecture isn't heavy.

The test, so easy. They're basically a copy of the study guide! She is a very kind and funny teacher who cares about her students. She did ask a lot of questions and tried to get people to participate. There were quite a few group projects so having a friend in the class was nice! Lots of videos played, easy A, fun class! Defiantly recommend her!

Almost no homework except for 2 essays. Easy A. Lecture's boring, you can skip the class if you are confident with exams. Participation only occupies 3.33%.

Took professor Dutt's class for Spring and she is the only professor who kept checking on our well being. She tried her best to connect with us. Answered e-mails late at night. I normally do not rate professors but thought of rating Professor Dutt since I found a rating very unfair. When a person attends online classes during Corona Times what do they expect apart from video lectures. Professor Dutt was very caring and always explained material. Loved researching new places and finding fun destinations.

Professor Dutt is a sweet professor. I took her online this summer and her course was easy. She provided her notes/lectures. If you wanna get some extra credit, all you gotta do is respond to the discussion posts which isn't that bad.

GEO D010 is a super fun class! Prof. Dutt is a generous grader. She cares more about having fun and learning about places in the world, than textbook material. She took her time grading tests, but there were only 3. Quizzes are multiple choice and get graded right away. 10/10 would take again.

Lectures were fun. Took time to grade but gave detailed feedback. Replied to e-mails fast. The lectures were fun and has little bits of fun facts about different countries. Really liked the assignments which were fun and easy.

This professor is by far the best I have encountered in this college. Other than being super enthusiastic about her teaching, she is empathetic and very kind. She patiently responds to all queries in email very promptly and is an excellent teacher. Will definitely take her class again.

The professor has a way of making difficult concepts seem fun and easy. Tackled important concepts like supranationalism giving comtemporary examples from current world politics. Homeworks load was light and exams came from the study guide. Would take any course from this prof again.

Easy GE credit take it. You will spend like 30 minutes max or less a week on this class for an A+. She is very kind and forgiving and responds to emails fast. You pretty much just learn some fun facts about countries.

Very very very easy class. You do not even need to spend a lot of time on the lectures. Just do the assignments and the test questions are very similar to questions in the assignments. Sends multiple reminders about tests and even gave me an extension. Only professor who eagerly worked with me. Super easy tests.

Each week you only have to do one quiz, which is only 20 points. She uploads lessons of each topic (lectures,videos, etc) All you have to do is watch and take the quiz but it's super easy and common sense and can find answers online. Midterm and finals are easy, same questions from the quizzes. A lot of the questions are straight from her lectures.

Very easy class. Mostly multiple choice tests. The essays in the class are opinion based which I thought was fun. Got to know about some fun things like Pink Lakes and Rainbow River. Ms Dutt was flexible with deadline. Found myself visiting travel sites and adding places to my bucket list while taking the class. Highly recommend.

Class was pretty simple and the professor was nice. Each week you watch a few 5-20 min lectures and do a short multiple choice quiz. Easy discussions (basically about how you've been) and 2 exams + final with multiple choice and short answer. Only complaint is that the lectures weren't always easy to understand and I had to google a lot of things.

Professor Dutt is very clear on grading criteria. There is a quiz each week, it is very easy. There are about 4 tests total with 50 questions each. Majority of the questions are multiple choice with some fill in the blank and 1 writing question. Overall, this class is very easy and manageable.

I took a TBA class, and there were weekly quizzes, 2 midterms, and 1 final, all MCQs, but midterms and finals had one long-answer type question each. Weekly discussion posts were for class participation and worth a small part of the grade. Overall, an easy course for a G.E. requirement.
