He is the sweetest professor and just wants his students to succeed. His lectures are really boring at times but probably because it is stats. There weekly quizzes but they're so easy and online hw/exams. Most of the quizzes are about SPSS which sucks but he takes the time to help you learn and practice how to use it.

Zaman is a great professor who really cares about his students! I had his class MWF and he cancelled class most Fridays. We had 3 quizzes, our research project, and a couple of in class activities. He didn't give any exams. I heard terrible things about this class and it ended up being really chill with Zaman.

Professor Zaman was by far my favorite professor, he comes to class excited everyday. He takes the time to try to learn everyones name in the class, and does a lot of practice questions to really help you understand the topic. Open note quizzes once a week, and 1 final, highly recommend.

Dr. Zaman is great! English is not his first language, so he can be difficult to understand sometimes. However he really cares about his students. He took time to learn everyones name which meant a lot in a big lecture. If you struggle with statistics he might not be the professor for you since there is a language barrier.

Great prof for this class! I knew there would be a big research project done as a group. He split up work over the weeks to make it feel less stressful. He's sweet, funny & lenient. Professor Zaman really cares about his students. He made an effort to remember everyones name despite the large class size and gave so many opportunities to improve your grade. Attendance is mandatory and the quizzes and assignments are mainly in class, so if you go, you're basically guaranteed an A, he does excuse 3 absences. If you can TAKE HIM!!

All the quizzes and tests are open-note which makes it really easy to succeed in this class. Everything that is on the tests/quizzes is on the powerpoints, so I recommend paying attention to those.

He takes attendance every class but never took the full hour and 15 mins, made his lectures fun, and takes the time to actually get to know his students. no homework. quizzes and the only exam (final) are open note and open internet. Amazing teacher!! Attendance is mandatory, but it's not just boring lectures. He has questions throughout and actually explains the info being taught. He will call on you randomly to answer a question, but even if you don't know the answer he never makes you feel bad about it and will help you work through it.

I had Zaman for both HTH320/HTH408, I received an A in both classes! The class schedule is concise and easy to follow throughout the semester. He is super easy to talk to, so if you have any questions, ask. Attendance isn't mandatory, but there are in class assignments for a grade. He is also top 2% of Stanford Scientistic researchers! Take him!

Dr. Z is a gem, and he's really into his students. There's a lot of group work, and it's very interesting! You work on one paper throughout the semester and then present it at a conference. It's a great experience. He'll guide you every step of the way. A super funny professor and a nice person. I also had HTH320 with him. Take him in any class!

Very kind professor, teaches the material well, gives you enough time to prepare and gives you many chances to fix your grade through a make-up quiz and a drop quiz. 100% take him for 408 if you can. I was scared to take 408 with other classes like biochem & genetics but he makes it so manageable and isn't a tough grader. Gives great feedback & always willing to extend deadlines. 3 easy quizzes and no test. 1 group project but the assignments for it are very manageable, theres premade templates for most of it

Dr. Zaman is one of the most understanding and lenient professors I have had at JMU. He is very straightforward with his syllabus and grading. Most of the grade is based on 10 question MCQs that you can score well on just by attending + a midterm and final project. Not a difficult grader at all and amazing environment, can't recommend enough.
