Disorganized, her idea of teaching is reading from the book. Dont ask questions because she can't answer them. She gives study guides for her tests, but neglects to put material from the test on them. Half the class dropped before the end of the term.
Disorganized doesn't even begin to explain it.It was an easy A, but not very helpful in Bio2.I spent 130$ on a book I didn't even use. She's a sweet person but a horrible teacher!
I agree. She was the worst professor I have ever had. Word of mouth gets around...
I don't know about those other students, but they must be stupid or something. Dr. Evans is a great professor and a great person to boot. If one is lazy, stupid, and just plain retarded, then yeah they will not like this class. But overall, she's great
I'm not retarded, lazy or stupid. She is the worst teacher I have ever had. A nice lady, but not a great teacher. I can read from a book or outline. I want someone to teach me, not read to me. I don't recommend her.
The worst!!She was not only totally disorganized for every single class, she also made it a point of telling us every night how much she didn't want to be there. Maybe she is better during her day classes, but avoid her at all costs for a night class.
This was one of my worst classes. She teaches you from her power point which, by the way, you have to print. DO NOT ask her a question, she can't answer you. Let me tell you she loves suprise quizzes. HORRIBLE....I do not recommend her at all.
She's awful. Her idea of teaching is reading her notes to you in class. Can't or won't answer any questions or attempt to explain anything clearly. Would definitely not recommend her.
I got out with a B but all I can say is I am glad that I dont have to sit in her class again!
Do not take her! I started with a full class and we ended up with only 6 people the final week, and only 2 of them passed! The worst teacher I have ever had.
I thought she was very nice and I enjoyed her class. Lectures did get boring but overall I thought she was great. Anyone wanting to get into medicine, take her and you will actually learn the material. Anatomy doesn't come easy, neither should the teacher
very helpful and personable.
If one studies the material this class is passable, it's not high school and you must study. She is an extremely nice person.
I THINK SHE'S VERY SMART AND DOESN'T ACT LIKE MOST DOCTORAL PROFESSORS.
I agree with some of the bad ratings this professor has recieved, however, I think that if you study and read alot, that Dr. Evans can be a good teacher. She does read to you from her powerpoints, and she does like surprise quizes(that count for you never against you). I think it all depends on you.
Completely unprepared for class lectures. Labs never interacted with lecture material. Study guides are just chapter outlines and exams are wicked hard. Had to stay a chapter ahead the whole time and dropped all other classes and the highest test grade I received was 85.Good Luck!!!
I love Dr. Evans. She is down to earth and shows respect to her students. If you know your study guide you will pass her tests. She couldn't make it any easier. This is A&P people, you have to know your material to go on in medicine! I don't believe she's the problem if you fail, it's yours!
I got an A. She gives a ton of extra credit. Of course A&PII is alot of memorization and I had to put in a lot of study hours for that grade.
I STUDY AND READ ALL THE TIME. IT DID NOT HELP ONE BIT. HER LAB DIDN'T GO WITH LECTURE MATERIAL. HER TEST DID'NT GO WITH LECTURE MATERIAL. I DON'T RECOMMEND ANY ONE TAKE HER CLASS. SHE'S EXTREMELY BORING AND HER TEST ARE EXTREMELY HARD.
Prof likes2ask after going over a lecture: You get, you don't, you got questions, good lets go on.I don't recommend her.She lets you keep old tests when asked for them, but they in no way prepare you for the next test. There is no way to plan what to study for her. Favors old students.
does not teach
she was a very good professor! her lecture slides were detailed and her tests were very easy to understand! take her she is really sweet and willing to help!
Took her for part one and two just know all hormones in part two and you'll be fine.
She is a very good instructor. she knows the information in and out. You have to do the homework, read the chapters, and know the study guide and you'll be OK. Take my word for it, she is a very good instructor, this is coming from someone who had drop her class. But it wasn't her fault, nor did it reflect on her.
Tests are very hard, and the study guides did not help. There is no way to study for her tests. Our class size started out with 25 and went to 6. Labs didn't go with the lecture (did them after the test). Only offered two extra credit assignments, promised more. She is a sweet lady, and wants to help. Just beware of the tests.

Dr. Evans is a great "college" professor. Do not take her class if you still need someone to hold your hand. Tests are very detailed but if you STUDY you will be fine. Made an A in the class because I came to class and studied half the class failed.
Dr. Evans is a great professor. She knows her stuff and is always willing to help you out. There is a lot of memorization that goes along with A&P II. I had to put a lot of study hours into this course, and I got an A. She gives a ton of extra credit. Her study guides helped some, but the best advise is to get with a study group.
she was hard the test and questions was not based on what was being taught. not an easy teacher at all.
VERY NICE TEACHER, KNOWS HER STUFF. BUT, TEST ARE VERY HARD!! HER TESTS CONSISTS OF MULTIPLE CHOICE, FILL IN THE BLANKS, AND ESSAY. HER LAB QUIZ ARE FILL IN THE BLANKS WITH NO WORD-BANK. IF YOU ARE A WORKING STUDENT, DO NOT TAKE HER. SAVE YOUR MONEY, AND TAKE ANOTHER TEACHER
Prof. Evans is a nice lady but you should NOT take her unless you have at least TEN extra hours to put into studying for her class a week. She is a very hard teacher, and believes that you should study ALL-THE-TIME. So, if you have a life, and a job, and other classes she IS NOT the teacher for you!
She is an amazing teacher who is willing to work really hard to help people achieve their goals.
Dr. Evans is very nice, but she does not teach. She reads the notes provided by the text book publisher and does not explain material well. Half of my class either dropped or failed. I have taken other A&P professors at Kent that are much easier to understand.
She is hard! She tries to explain everything but not very clear. I have taken A and P before and passed but I dropped out early int his one. I failed every single tests.
Anatomy and Physiology should never be this unclear, there was abosolutely NO STUDY guide that was helpful to the studnets, The multiple choice test are impossible, the information given will NOT help you on a test. SHould you need to get into other programs DON"T TAKE THIS TEACHER. BUYER BEWARE OVER HALF MY CLASS FAILED.
Don't even think about this teacher if she is the only one open go to another campus but don't take this one. Although there is extra credit it is not enough to make up for HORRIBLE multiple choice exams designed to trick even the brightest student, not make them think. Would have liked to take her for A&P II but not now, not ever! Careful HERE!
she's a great teacher and will help any student that will help themselves. she's easy to work with as long as you don't ask stupid questions and don't try to think you know more than she does. she doesn't make the class that easy, because she doesn't want idiots working on her when she is old and sick in a hospital. is that too much to ask?
This class was so hard! The way she "teaches" was not at all helpful and you pretty much have to learn everything on your own. I would advise you not to take this professor unless you have the time to read every day for at least 3 hours and understand everything you read.
Anyone who says this is a GREAT teacher is flat out wrong. I passed but many in my class failed or dropped, if you need this class to go on to the next level, FORGET this teacher, the TESTS are almost impossible to pass, FCCJ should re-evaluate this TEACHER as most students would not want to have her as a teacher.
hard teacher... i would rather play rush n rulet then try and take one of her test....
This semester is over for several people in my class as they have already dropped this teacher. I am considering dropping the course although I had someone else for AP I this was the only class in my time slot. Don't take this teacher if you need a good grade the first test eas impossible. Many people failed.
I believe that this professor is one of the helpful and down to earth professors. Although this is not one of the most easiest subjects to pass. She wants her students to learn and comprehend what is being taught and she is always there for her students when they need help.
Very difficult. But, if you work hard to teach urself (hybrid=tests on campus only, ur otherwise alone), it can be done. She offers extreme amounts of extra credit, if you take advantage of it. Very nice and helpful. Many dropped this course b/c the difficulty level. I would advise against taking this as a hybrid. Very hard.
Dr. Evans has finally made the transition from Clinician to Instructor. Not an easy task. Teaching has to be about the student always. These courses should be take by the same teacher if you can. To do well you need to study. I got an A and you can too. Don't think you can learn it all but the better you prepare the better you will do.
I have taken her class and found that she is a very down to earth person. I feel she teaches students the information required for this course not only for this course but for life because when one learns the way the body operates it teaches us to be more aware of how we treat our body as a whole.
She is one tough cookie. She expects you to know your stuff at any time. She is not unreasonalbe in what she expects you to know, but she isn't very helpful with you learning it. She lectures by reading from power point notes, but she will explain further if you ask. Don't expect any special treatment for any reason. She genuine and likable person!
If you want to know your stuff and have something to be PROUD of then take this teacher. However, Dont take her if you want easy, it will not be...But if you study and do the Quizzes and extra CREDIT you can get and A I did and now I am glad I did, i got into UNF the first try, so can you, BUT don't forget to study....
After taking A&PI. I was very interested in A&PII. While in Dr.Evans class,I learned more about the human body which helped me in the field of Medical Coding and Billing. After working hard and getting the help needed in her class, I successful earned an A in the class and was accepted in the coding and billing program. Dr. Evans helped me much.
THIS SUBJECT IS VERY HARD, YOU HAVE TO BE VERY FOCUSED. DR. EVAM'A PROVIDES CLEAR , AND SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS AS TO WHAT SHE EXPECTS. VERY GOOD TEACHER.
Dr. Evans is an amazing teacher and you can't go wrong in taking her. The class will seem overwhelming just b/c of its subject matter at first & it may even seem that she has sent you up the river w/o a paddle with her "powerpoint" pres. You'll make it, she gives tons of ex cred and holds your hand through the course. Easy "A" with effort!
SHE IS A VERY GOOD TEACHER, ALTHOUGH THE SUBJECT IS VERY DIFFICULT SHE IS VERY HELPFUL AND OFFERS LOTS OF EXTRA CREDIT QUIZZES AND OTHER COURSE RELATED ASSIGNMENTS TO HELP YOUR GRADE. SHE DOES NOT OFFER A STUDY GUIDE AND TESTS ARE VERY, VERY HARD. BE PREPARED TO STUDY--BUT SHE IS VERY SWEET AND HELPFUL.
This was the hardest class I have ever taken in my life. 24 hours of studying gets you no where on her tests. She offers no study guides. It IS possible to get a passing grade though if you do ALL the extra credit.
Only losers that don't apply themselves with fail this class or get poor scores. Amazing teacher with real life application examples. Brilliant source of knowledge and I only wish she could teach me everything I need to know for the nursing program!
A NIGHTMARE! Went to class for 3hrs just to look through a microscope and work in pairs in a lab book. I was in a hybrid course and got NO instruction from the prof. She expected us to learn and teach ourselves with her online documents. class started with about 20, when I left there was about 5 left!
Very good for the medical student covers all information that you will have an advantage for medical classes
Dr.Evans is one of the best professors. I took her for A&PII and got an A. She will work with you. You do have to study, but she makes it fun. she gives alot of extra credit.
Dr. Evans is an awesome professor. She cares a lot about the student and helps you out if you don't understand. Don't get me wrong, you must study and put forth every effort, but passing her class is extremely possible. Her personality is amazing and her passion for anatomy is incredible.
she is a very nice teacher and is willing to answer questions. just make sure you read the text and try your best to follow her lectures during class (long lectures) then you'll do fine on her tests. i highly recommend a study group for her class. it helped alot for me.
Wonderful teacher. Very intellegent and knows the material thoroughly. Her main stipulation is to learn the material, and if studying for several hours per chapter to learn the material is too much then I suggest switching away from biology.
Prof Evans was amazing! She really cares about her students and wanting you to understand it. I took A&P as one of my sciences so it was pretty tough. But if you are required to take it I def reccomend her! She really helps you understand it!
sweet lady. horrible teacher. very unorganized. the tests are ridiculously hard she does not teach! took her as a hybrid course, worst mistake of my life. NOT RECOMMENDED!
Evans is a from the book teacher, long power point lectures. Tons of extra credit! Gives you every opportunity to pass and will help if asked. recommend
Very nice teacher. Lectured through powerpoint. Tests were hard and not by notes. Gave study guides but were hit or miss. I passed by getting extra credit.
Amazing teacher. Anyone who complains about her being too hard is just setting themselves up for failure. The nursing program is no joke, they want u to know ur stuff and she is hard bc she wants u to be prepared. The best Prof/teacher I've ever had. If your working ur tail off she will notice & give enough extra credit so u get the grade u deserve
She is the hardest teacher I have ever had. Her test are impossible to pass and quizzes are fill in the blank (no word bank). She really expects you to know the ENTIRE ch. Unreal! I really like her as a person tho! Wouldn't recommend to anyone who doesn't have AT LEAST 15hrs a week to dedicate to studying.
She knows her stuff and teaches really well. I learned a lot from her lectures. Although others complained about her online tests, I thought they were pretty easy. She's smart, communicates well, and is really nice too. I recommended her to friends.
Evans is tough, but as I have found, so are ALL the Science teachers. I took her for A&P I (got a C) and A&PII (got an A) I would recommend taking her Hybrid class, b/c I found the lectures to be useless. She gives out over 100 points extra credit.
good overall, its just a hard subject. if you don't study, A LOT you will not do well. test are super hard. lab quizzes are also hard, she gives extra credit. the lectures didn't do much for me, she doesn't make then mandatory, its better to just really study the book. she takes forever to grade quizzes/test. also 5 days to respond to email/phone c
Prof. Evans knows her subject. This class is tough regardless of who teaches it. She offers every opportunity to answer questions in class. She tells you upfront, if you're in her hibrid class she answers e-mails promptly but also says she's a little slow for reg. classes. Study well. Your success depends on it!
Hardest Class of All!!! Harder Than Chemistry!!! Harder Than Physics... I don't know why. But the Human Body has more information to be learned than the whole entire Universe!!! This Teacher Will Teach You boringly but completely. So Be Ready I suggest Having a Study Group!!!
Super nice & funny. Always available for questions. Subject extremely hard, but she is one of the better A&P teachers. Online tests are ridiculously hard w/material sometimes never seen. Gives lots of extra credit (what saved me from a C). Takes a month or more to grade. Study everyday to have a chance of doing well. Lovely person. Would recommend
Super nice. I've never seen a professor more available and willing to help in anyway possible, like Dr.E. I would say her class is hard if you're not dedicated to coming to every class and lab as well as studying. For me her class was easy. You walk away from her class with such a phenomenal and vast knowledge base. IT?S WORTH IT!
I took Dr Evans for A&P I and II. Personally a nice woman, but not a good teacher. Tests are extremely unpredictable, tells you to know the ENTIRE book. Lab quizzes. Study guides are terrible. There is extra credit. Not much help email wise. Need book and lab book. Everyone is these classes had grade issues. Does not return many lab quizzes/exams.
Professor Evans is a very sweet person and helpful 1 on 1. The lectures were powerpoint dragged on forever. She is a great teacher, the material is hard. Also, she DOES give back the lab quizzes (it takes a while though) b/c there is a lab final. If taking part I, there is also a school generated final, if taking part II test 5 is the "final"
Offers good amount of extra credit. Lectures from powerpoint primarily. Suggestions for direction in studying for exams - know the book. (It's over 1000 pages). Difficult, difficult class. I got a decent grade, but came out more confused and overwhelmed than when I went in. There is likely a better TEACHER for this class.
While she is a pleasant enough instructor, she is extremely disorganized. She does not use the required text but rather an online format. Her tests in no way reflect the study sheet she gives out. Not to mention the study sheet is too broad. For those needing this class find a different instructor. She does give out a lot of extra credit though.
She's a really nice but I can understand why some would find this class difficult. Study guides are fill-in the blank/multiple choice and the tests come from those. The problem is, there is no answer guide so you may be studying wrong answers. An A is totally doable, just study. It's college.. Oh yeah, lots of extra credit.
This professor gives lot of extra credit and chapter guides. Posses a strong background in chem and bio. This professors guides are almost impossible to complete due to difficulty and most of the questions are not even in the book! Tests and quizes are mostly fill in the blank and VERY tough. I will not take this professor again.
Worst online class I have ever taken. Don't get me wrong, the material was easy, I got an A, but getting any feedback/emails answered was a pain. She doesn't accept late work if we have computer issues. Also, we had a mandatory volunteer project that was very hard to find time for since we had to do something medical for credit, not office work.
(you will get an A)good discussions ever week, 4 worksheets, an 8-10 page research paper, a 2 page reflections paper, a 10 hour service learning project. Honostly book is horrible and annoying you will notice a trend in disparities comments over certain ethnic background. Someone had a chip on their shoulder when they wrote it. just get through it.
SHE OK TO TAKE BUT SHE DOESNT HELP OR TEACH HER CLASS.HER CLASS WASNT REALLY HARD YOU JUST WAS ON YOUR OWN MOST OF THE TIME. BUT MY CLASS WORK TOGETHER SO I PASSED LUCKLY BUT I WOULDNT RECOMMAND YOU TO TAKE HER IF YOU NEED HELP.
I had class once a week and rest online. Some tests were online, but the ones in class that were on iPads were impossible. She ended up giving almost 80 points of EC. If not for the at home tests, homework, and EC, I would have failed. Made an A. Will be taking again because I know how she works. Wouldn't recommend.
This class was a hybrid class but might as well been a strictly online class. Teacher didn't give any direction on what to study besides read all the chapters. Made the class arrive for the lab final to find out we didn't have to take it and the last test was going to be worth double. No respect for time. Came in late or cancelled at last minute.
Dr. Evans is a great professor and super nice. I really her class.
The amount of work expected from you is pretty clear-cut. There is a fair amount of reading so it is important to stay focused in this class, especially if you are taking other classes at the same time. There weren't any tests, just a few chapter worksheets that go over previously read material. The only issue was there is no late work excepted.
It's hard to get a reply from Dr. Evans. But this is an online class. Maybe there's a better chance to get feedback from her in a physical classroom. She grades some of your works, but the majority of them would be graded in the final week, so there's almost no chance to find out what's wrong with your work to improve. Friendly professor, though.
So I thought this class would be an easy A. Its not. She's an awesome person. On-line we got none to vague feedback. Grading was super late. Discussions are based on other classmates participation on back and forth interaction, so you have to be interacting daily to be able to get an A. You have to work for it but you can pass more easily w/ a B.
She puts an emphasis on writing. You have to keep discussions going, responding to your comments, and commenting on the other students posts. You will have to take off of work to be on campus 3 times. There isn't much feedback or clarity. You get marked off even when you're following the rubric, and guess what? You won't know why!
You teach yourself in this course , it is online but theres no help what so ever . Professor Evans is HORRIBLE at communicating, expect to wait days for a response from her. Ive had to email her multiple times through my blackboard and personal email, post on blackboard discussions, and I had to call her office In order to get a response.
You pretty much are on your own with this class. Ms. Evans a NON FACTOR. No clear direction and very little feedback. Alot of HW for no credit towards grade. Discussion board had no relation to subject matter but graded as such. Poor response time. $250.00 for lab kit was pointless. Test heavy with no clear guidance on what to study for.
I would never take this professor again
Review the study guides that she gives you. she will give you a study guide for the first 2 proctored exams and will not give you any type of study guide or review for the final exam. If it weren't for the labs, homework, and discussions I would have failed the class. She isn't helpful and gives no extra credit and does not accept late work.
currently doing online, and she wasn't prepared for the course at all. Classes opened on a Monday, assignments weren't posted until Saturday. Part of the distance learning included textbook and online systems, but we still had to purchase a $200+ online textbook for the course. Almost 4 weeks in and no grades have been posted. Would not recommend
