I loved Trig, & enjoyed the class. I liked the structure of this class, but wish it had been smaller and not in a lecture hall- I would have felt more comfortable asking for 1 on 1 help. Overall, if you put the work in, you should do well.

Surprisingly good considering the size of her class. Helpful, friendly, and enthusiastic she is pretty clear (with a slight accent). Tests are fairly easy. Fun for a math class.

whoever say she's hot is a sicko. she's freaking has a college student daughter. imagin how old she is? she teachers okay. test is based on practice test, but her lecture is sometimes confusing. sometimes i get so lost of what she is talking about. I had to read the book to understand. yeah if ure not lazy, take this class.

I am REALLY not a math person -- but with this professor, all you need to do are work on the practice tests and turn in your homework. She drops 5 of your lowest quiz scores and one low test score -- the practice tests are your KEY to passing with an A!!! She does *not* deviate from the questions on the practice exam.

Calculus isn't easy, but she made it easier on us. Homework is mandatory because it will help you succeed on the quizzes. Her review packets are helpful and you'll do fine if you do them. She's helpful if you ask.

Homework every night with quizzes at the onset of each class. She gives review packets for each test and the final which are the same questions as on the test with different numbers in them, so as long as you do the practice test and can understand how to do each problem the class is cake.

I took Sonia Avetisian back in Spring of 2007... the class was 100% online aside from an on campus midterm and final and a Saturday class she offered once before each of the major exams. Very friendly, tried very hard for all students to pass. Re-opened up all quizzes for students in the end so they could retake them online for better grade :)

Math 10 online was a great for me! BUT, you must be disciplined doing homework/quizes. Whenever I had a question, Prof. Avetisian always responded right away and her explanations were very clear. Good luck if you decide to take the class.

First off, she is a lovely woman but she has an edge. Don't disrupt her while she is teaching otherwise she will put you in your place. Now taht thats out of the way. I enjoyed taking her class. I would recommend her.

Took the hybrid math. Tests are 50 question scantron with a calculator. Fairly easy but her accent can be difficult at times. Class could have been 100% online and i would have done the same. She is very nice and tries to help, math just isn't my thing.

One of the best math teachers at OCC. Class format is simple: homework, quizzes (taken from homework), and exams. She posts practice exams that are exactly the same as actual exams, but simply with different numbers. She is kind and understands math is one of the tougher subjects for most people and does a good job of accommodating students' needs.

I don't understand why her score isn't better. I love her relaxed attitude and practice exams. She is very clear on her expectations and in her lectures; so much so that I never open the textbook to read the lecture; only for homework. Honestly, if you just follow along in class (be an active participant!), it is an easy A.

Sonia Avetisian is a fantastic professor. Quizzes and homework is online and is 40% of your grade and must be completed each week before the deadline (12:00 am Tuesday online). Tests are IDENTICAL from your study guide which are also found online. If you have any questions be sure to ask because she will help. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

i took professor Livingston, but had to drop it. He was the worse. The next semester i took Avetisian online/part in class and was well WORTH IT. i received a B. How? i did the homeworks online. It was easy and very helpful for me, someone who absolutely sucks at math. The study guide are almost identical to that test. Do that and you'll be fine.

Explains things clearly & is patient w/questions...Don't buy textbook, course compass is all you'll use, & it works great. Half online class is fine, but you'll make up for less class time w/more homework on c.compass. I like her, would definately take her again.

she doesn't grade as hard as my previous math professors. i wouldn't say she's easy but as long as you do the review packets and homework, for homework quizzes, you would get a decent grade.

This is calculus so don't expect it to be easy. That being said, do your homework as it's assigned so that you can do great on the quizzes she gives each week (she'll drop your lowest ones). There are practice tests which are very similar to the real one and the final is basically problems from the pratice tests. I personally like this teacher.

took her for math 10 hybrid, as long as you do the work online (and that was a hard one for me) you're pretty much golden. I thought she was clear, and the work although taking a decent amount of time, helped me actually learn it. she is very nice and will gladly help with any questions you have. I wish she did math 30, I would be there.

Took the hybrid, can't really give a thorough rate because most of the work done is online, but in class she messes up a lot on her notes and gives you the classwork near the end of class. Im taking this class along with discrete math and physics and believe me she is a very good teacher. Compare to another instructor who will let your final replace all 6 of your test . She expects you to learn it instead of skidding by. So you are better prepared for whatever you're doing in the future like engineer/bio/chem & etc that require math

So sweet and helpful! The math010 hybrid class is the way to go. You can repeat the homework assignments over and over until you get 100%. Just do the online assignments and study for exams. she gets mad when people are late.

Do the practice tests. Know how to do every single problem then seriously easy A on the tests. I didn't study for the first test and got an F. The rest I got A's. So I'm probably getting a B in the class. Do the hwk, don't just do to receive points, but know how to do it too. It will be on the weekly quizzes. Don't be scared to ask her anything.

Hybrid online class with a lot of homework, but she's great. Exams are based on study guides, so if you can do the study guides, you'll get an A in the class. Do all the online homework and quizzes, because it's worth like 1/3 of your grade as basically free points. Also gives you free points every day for in-class worksheets. Great class.

She is right on point with her lectures and goes through each concept step by step. This class is an easy A, as long as you do all the work (you get three attempts every weekly quiz! and you can get 100% on all HW assign). The Practice Exams are key to getting an A on the 4 tests. Make sure you know/memorize EVERY problem on PE.

She seems morel like a High School teacher, but that doesn't have to be a bad thing. She wants to help and tries her best to accommodate the students. The class is 3 days of the week and there is A LOT of homework.

She's nice and pretty helpful if you actually engage with her. Although the lectures were helpful, I'd say 90% of the learning was the homework. If you tested in, make sure to memorize all your trig stuff... you'll be behind if you don't. Do your homework, ask her questions, take the EC opportunities seriously.

there is no reason why you shouldn't pass this class. the exam/quiz questions are the EXACT same ones on the homework. if you have poor time management and procrastinate, this is not the class for you. there are 100 hw questions per chapter. my only criticism is that she doesnt really explain examples in lecture but does review any hw questions

Approaching difficult math questions, Sonia always seems to know where the mistake was made and doesn't waste class time showing more work than needed. She is quick to scold students talking during lecture, but only because she wants her students to care about their success as much as she does. No textbook! She uses a free online platform instead.

Professor Avetisian is willing and able to help students with any work and explains material well. The homework is sometimes difficult to finish on time if you don't keep a good schedule. You'll get an A if you do almost all the homework and practice exams.

There is no reason why you shouldn't pass this class. The exam/quiz questions are the EXACT same ones on the homework. If you have poor time management and procrastinate, this is not the class for you.

Great class! Lot's of HW but if you do it all and study those problems, the quiz/test will be easy. Make sure to watch the given videos to get a good grasp of the concepts. A resource I recommend is the free book that she makes available to you, when stuck I would use it and it would be really helpful. Overall, it was a good class.

Exams are straight from the homework, can ace them if you do your homework everyday. 120 homework problems per each exam, you will not pass if you procrastinate. Professor is nice and will work with you if she sees you are really trying.

It's doable if you give in your effort: - Last time with Math was in high school (15 years ago). This is my first semester in College. I skipped the pre-math classes & took A180. - I worked 40hrs + took A180 + FILM A100. Was able to get A.

She's nice and pretty helpful if you actually engage with her. I'd say 90% of the learning was the homework. If you tested in, make sure to memorize all your trig stuff... you'll be behind if you don't. Do your homework, ask her questions.

I took Prof. Avetisian for Calc 1&2. No textbook needed-use her notes & videos. Ofc, you must put in effort-c'mon, it's Calc. A couple weeks before each exam, she gives a pdf with literally all problems she'll use on the exam- no surprises! I got 100% a couple times. She loves questions. And put on the whiteboard any problems you want demonstrated.

She's professional no doubt. Calculus isn't easy, but If you're talking it serious enough, you can get an A. Her exams are fear. If you do the homework thoroughly, it wont be that difficult. The problems on the test are the same from the homework. If you enroll in this class, you would HAVE TO be on time.

She is one of the best professors I've had at OCC. She is very caring and helpful outside the class. Come to her office hours frequently since she explains everything to me clearly and patiently. Hard works always pay off!

super nice lady, her notes are hybrid but they're very clear and easy to understand. She also goes over them in class. She prepares you well for her test so they're not bad at all and she uses a lot of questions for the test that she put on the review already. Take this class.

I thought Prof. Avetisian was pretty caring of her students, keen on helping them understand the material and pass. She would go over concepts after students watched recorded lectures, which I thought was helpful, though sometimes class would feel pretty drawn out. Tests were similar problems to practice tests and homeworks; best to study those!

I would not recommend Prof. Avetisian if you are not going to do the homework, not going to study for the tests, not going to pay attention in lectures, or are afraid to ask questions. Math is not easy, however, she gives you a list of questions a month in advance of all the questions that are on the test. You will get an A if you work for it.

One word that describes this class is that is "HARD". Keep in mind that I took this in the summer so is only 8 weeks. It has not been a week yet and calc 2 feels like a nightmare. DO YOUR BEST TO KEEP UP ELSE YOU FALL BEHIND. Professor skip a lot of tedious steps (ill keep it updated when am done with this course) so far is very challenging!

Anyone who planning to take this class. I want you to know this is probably want of the best class out there for calc 2. If you don't struggle; you don't learn this class is very difficult but is not impossible. Although I fail this class I really learn a lot from this professor! take her if she is available, Integral in this class is MAD hard btw!

She wasn't a bad professor but she didn't go over all the notes very thoroughly. The tests are a big % of your grade. They are not that hard if you go over the study guide and know how to do each problem. Calculus is not an easy concept to grasp for some people. Homework is online. Use the online lectures if needed. Ignore all of the bad comments about her. Those people are bad at math and do not spend any effort studying this course. She is very knowledgeable and willing to answer all your questions. Easy exams as long as you keep up all the work in lectures and homework.

Professor Avetisian is a pretty solid professor. She structures her class with lectures, online HW, and assigns classwork. tests are very approachable and given a good effort to learn the material, you will succeed. I had her for both Calculus 1 and 2.

Calculus is a tough subject, but she is very organized and clear with exactly what she wants. Exams are straight from given study guides (with a couple of # changes) so getting an A is obtainable if you put in the work. Her notes are organized and she has posted YouTube videos lectures as well. Only downside is that the HW takes too long.

Avetisian cares a lot about her students and their education. Her lesson plans are very concise and she'll go over homework problems with us. Her tests come pretty much directly from the homework, so know how to do all problems!

This is probably one of the best classes out there for calc 2. If you don't struggle; you don't learn this class is very difficult but is not impossible.

Despite my subpar grade in the class, I do believe her grading was fair and she provides you with all the material necessary to succeed. Homework can be tedious and take a while, but the test questions are directly taken from the homework/review packet. An A is entirely feasible if you stay on top of your workload.

Just take it, nothing more. You won't regret. Trust me. Easy exam. She did do a lot of reviews before the exam to prepare you well.
