Ms. Sexton broke down steps of our writing essay so we could learn better and not be overwhelmed. She allowed me a lot of time to work on my writing and learn the writing process. I just received an A for my reaction (Socrates) in History of Western Civilization in my undergraduate degree after leaving Nova. While 40% of the class wrote a summary, I had the excellent professor Sexton to know the difference. 12 of us got A in a class of over 70 kids. Thanks to professor Sexton I was one of those A students.

I had Mrs. Sexton for English 112 a few semesters ago. She was an amazing and caring professor. I needed a letter of recommendation recently and she remembered me after all these semesters. She wrote me an incredible letter and I got into my program. She loves teaching and it shows in her actions. I am grateful to have had her as my professor.

Prof Sexton allowed me and the class to submit any missing work for the whole semester. I was failing because of personal problems at home, her letting me submit missing work and catch up was so nice and kind. She heard my story and gave me a hug. I feel heard and seen by her. I am grateful to have her as my teacher.

A lot of students like me struggle as freshmen because we think college is like high school so we miss classes dont submit work and procrastinate. I dropped my other classes but Prof Sexton supported me and met with me many times to help me. Now I am passing her class and she even extended our assignments so the students who were behind catch up.

I am not sure if she will do groups next semester but make sure to participate so you can learn. She told us if we plagiarized so we can fix our work and resubmit instead of reporting us. I really like and appreciate her.

Professor Sexton is a very caring and understanding instructor who offers extra credit and extensions throughout the course. My only complaint about her teaching strategy is the lack of organization and sometimes unclear in-class instructions. Sometimes she will say one thing one day and switch up and say another thing the next.

Despite most other professors expecting you to know MLA from your previous English 111 course, Mrs. Sexton realized where our shortcomings were. She reviewed MLA citations and the writing process extensively, which was very helpful. I'm prepared for college.

I'm graduating from GMU now and thanks to her I was able to write papers at GMU with NO PROBLEMS at all as she taught me perfectly how to write papers, how to use MLA/APA and other formats, etc. I am also super grateful she sent us to writing center!

Whenever I have questions she answers it right away and allow her students to redo assignments and presentation without penalty. she gives golden tickets for any assignments you miss or want to redo. her assignments are not hard she & explains and allows redos. she cares.

Last year I took ENG 111 and got F. I took Ms. Sextons class this summer and I am passing because she allowed resubmissions and Golden Tickets and extra credit. I procrastinated alot but she was understanding and helped me correct my paper and didn't take points away for being late. Shes cool and even allowed whole class to present later in week.

Fair and square. I feel like she grades fairly and gave lots of feedback and opportunities to do better. I rather she tell me what I did wrong and give me opportunity to fix it than to be nice and say nothing and let me fail. She was honest and helpful.

Her class is honestly pretty easy. Legit the assignments aren't overwhelming (only four assignments), and she doesn't try to trick you with anything unnecessary. not tests or quizzes or exams. There will be times where you speak in front of the class but it is more like a conversation, when there is a presentation she gives the option to go into small groups. Essays are done in parts to keep you on track. Many opportunities for help.
