Professor Mkrtchian is the best! he wants all his students to succeed! accent is not a problem. he is super nice and will take any questions. Also, a lot of xtra credit. Take him if u have the chance.

I have to be honest, I didn't like him at first. I thought he was an easy teacher, but when I got a B on my first test, I was confused. I thought I was a smart guy, how come I got a B? Long story short, in the end, I learned his grading style. SHOW ALL YOUR WORK!!! Do your homework and come to class everyday. He's a nice guy. I'm glad I had him.

The pace of his class is governed by the slowest learner, so ask lots of questions! In the end he is very fair so stick it out, he really cares for his students. His teaching style is messy though. He leaves out fund. parts of the lesson and doesn't do sample probs from the hw. But google khanacademy for clearer explanations. This helped me alot.

First and foremost, the accent. If you have trouble with understanding accents, then this teacher is not for you. There is a lot of homework but just do as much as you can. The tests are somewhat long but you can use a formula sheet if it is permitted. He is *very* generous when it comes to grading as long as you are trying!

In terms of dedication to students, he is probably the BEST prof. Might not be clear at times, but stick with him and you'll learn. He rewards those that HONESTLY work hard. Professor Mkrtchian is one of the better math professors at PCC. This guy has a giant heart when it comes to his students and he will go through great lengths to help you understand the material and pass the class. #1 Professor in PCC for Math 125. He makes your work for it, but worth it. If you struggle with word problems, he breaks them down and provides clarity. I walked out of the class with a better understanding with word problems and knowing step by step how to solve WORD PROBLEMS; amazing. He cares; so ask questions if you want to pass.

If you want to learn Stats 50, he is the teacher to learn from. Complete homework, take notes, photograph the board. Use his notes because the test is based on his notes. Great Professor! Yes he uses more than one book, but the only book you need to buy/use for assigned homework is the one the school recommends. He provides all the other resources used for free through email. Pay attention in class, ask questions, and you'll enjoy him. Mkrtchian is by far the most caring professor I have ever had for a math class. He is one of the only professors that I've had who has taken time to actually know all his students. He makes sure that the whole class is ready before he moves onto the next chapter or topic. He is funny and adds humor to the class but also is strict and demands focus.

Stats can be tricky, but Mkrtchian is well versed in mathematics, he's caring and understanding, always saying "everyone with me?" before moving on. His lecture style can sometimes get a bit confusing because he uses another better book alongside the classroom's book. His class is 90% tests. Pay attention, take notes, ask questions, you'll be fine.

Rec for winter quarter. Thick accent. His homework is a lot and will take a while to finish. Easy to fall asleep during lectures but very beneficial for exams. Constantly asks if everyone is following the class. Doesn't use canvas so you have to calculate yourself. Grade is heavily based on exams. The bad reviews here did not live up to him now.

I just took his class for the last spring 21 and I would love to take this class with him again. He is really nice and so sweet!! He always there for you. He never let the time pass without teaching, he always cares about his students. I would love to recommend you to take his class.
