A Fun interesting class to take

he only teaches you what he will test you on, you won't learn much else

Great guy, but too easy. CS 2110 was a slap back to reality

Great teacher - one of the best in CS. A lot of people think he's too easy but, personally, I think it is the course material which is simple and basic... at least at the first year level.

Srini doesn't move ahead unless 90% of the class is ready to move. Sometimes that means repeating something you already understand, but sometimes you're the one falling behind. He's willing to answer questions even ahead of where the class is.

Srini is the man. Hes the best prof in the building. He truly cares about everyone in the class, and he goes out of the way to remember who you are. In addition to this, he is an excellent teacher. No one gets left behind in his classes.

Simply the best prof you will ever have, that much I can guarantee.

Awesome prof. Some people find Srini too easy, and that's understandable. He sets out a course and teaches to that course, and teaches well. But don't think for a moment that this guy doesn't know his stuff cold. If you take advantage of his skills and knowledge you'll find a world class prof.

The best prof in CS, known by everybody. He remembers the name of everybody in his 100-person classroom. Very caring about his students, CONSTANTLY smiling. Material gets harder as the year level increases, but he does everything he can to make sure you get it.

He is easy, helpful, and clear, that's all for a high rating. Just listen, take notes and review the notes before exam, you'll be assigned an A in the end.

Very good teacher, great teaching style, super clear and gets the concepts across perfectly, the note handouts in class are awesome no need for textbook.

course is easy but you do not learn good enough, he do not go to necessary details that is the problem for your future course. dal should find better prof for first year. he always smile but it is fake when you need help he do not really help you just pretend that he want to help. not recommended

Best Prof at Dalhousie, one of the best instructors in the history of instructing! A million words could not explain how great this man is. He truly cares about each of his students.

Way too easy. Doesn't go in depth, stays shallow. Always ready to help and listens to feedback. Knows every1 by name. Assignments and labs are always fun, because they have interesting bonus real world questions. If you take course with him, try to spend extra time studying beyond class material. It will pay off in later years. Great 1st year prof!

Srini is... well, a teacher for the masses. If you happen to know anything, you will spend most of the lecture on Facebook, cutting out your ears, and dreading the mundane assignments.

Srini (as he will ask you to call him) is hands-down the best professor I have ever had. This is my second course with him and he's as lovely this semester as he was last semester. He's always smiling, always willing to help and always knows what he's talking about. I can honestly say that I am excited to go to any class taught by this man.

Srini is the best prof I've had at Dal, he honestly cares for his students and even tries to learn everyone's name (all two hundred). His booklet for my class was a lifesaver, and in general the course was not any harder than CS2. Highly suggest taking this class with Srini.

Easy exams if you attend every lecture. 5 Assignments and 1 Group project which is a little overwhelming if taking several courses... But easy A in general.

A little bit harder than the networking course... More things to memorize in general. Although attending classes is not 100% mandatory (depends on when he takes attendance), skipping classes will make it much harder to study on your own.

He is the best professor ever. He really put a lot of efforts in class and he really care about how student feel and what student learned. He always keep tracks of every thing and respond email impossibly quick. He consist to mark every students's paper just to know how well everyone leared. I really can't say enough about Srini. Srini is a great professor. He cares about his students, his lectures are easy to follow. Just do your best to attend all his lectures, and you will do good on exams. He gives good feedback and is always there to help. Probably one of the best professors in CS faculty.

The Professor has ability to explain hard things in a such easy way that everyone who follows his lectures can understand the topic easily. Just listen to him and you don't have to read any textbooks. Always available for help. Good at both in-person and online classes.

I had to take his class at 4:30 on MWF and I still wanted to be there. He also took time after every class to make sure every single question was answered and answer was understood

The course is geared towards students who have understood Networking concepts already. Avoid taking this course along with subjects that are difficult, if you do not have a solid background in Networking. The Professor's lectures are the best in the University, and he keeps you engaged for one and a half hours easily. Grading is lenient though.

Without a doubt, Srini is the best prof in CS at Dal, if not Dal as a whole. That should be enough purpose for you take his class. He will come in with more energy than anyone else, and make you laugh and cry. Before every quiz, he'll go through a question bank with the whole class and if you do that, you'll get a guaranteed A.

He is an amazing prof. His lessons are very clear and he is an overall super chill dude. I don't normally like studying just because I don't normally understand the lecture notes unless I rewatch the videos but his class notes are very easy to read, understand, and memorize.

This prof is amazing, his lectures and slides + practice problems done in class are clear, organized and helpful. He cares about the students and takes the time to talk with the ones who show up to the lectures. His labs and assignments are short but still help solidify your understanding of the current data structure/algorithm.

Sirini is one of the best computer science profs at Dal, I would take any course he teaches regardless of content. I think what sets him apart the most from other profs is how good he is at presenting. What I mean by that is his tone of voice, pace of speaking, and overall effort brought to the lectures makes it very easy to pay attention and learn

He's absolutely amazing! His slideshow notes are crystal clear, he spreads grades across so many things (assignments, labs, quizzes, tests, etc.), and always gives students all the materials they need to do great on midterms/final. If you go to class and put the work in, you will finish with at least an A- for sure

Attendance is mandatory, but it's worth going to his lectures since his way of explaining things is very engaging. Super keen inside and outside of class, flexible with assignments (can drop two labs and one assignment and quizzes), and super helpful. Would not hesitate to take his class again.

I recommend every computer science professor at Dalhousie to attend Srini's lectures and take notes on his way of teaching because Dal does have some very awful computer science "Professors".

Srinivas Sampalli is a good professor to have for a class if you only care about grades. However, if you actually want to learn to be a good programmer, I don't think he is the best option. His tests and assignments are too easy and will not challenge you compared to other professors. You won't improve as a programmer with Srini, but you will learn

The best professor in FCS. He could break difficult contents into small pieces so that students can understand his lecture easily. Pop quizzes and exams are not difficult. As long as you listen to his lecture carefully, you will receive at least A in his 2110.

The most engaging and passionate professor in the faculty of Computer Science. You will not fall asleep during his lectures due to his energy. Lecture/Pop quizzes are extremely easy, tests are on the difficult side. Make sure to code what you learned and remember all concepts before a test.

One of the best professors in dal. He is kind, and passionate. He explains concepts really well, and you can tell that he wants each and everyone of his students to succeed. His tests can be a little challenging but only because they are long. Take his class if you have a chance.

Everyone loves Srini and as a professor I have no complaints about HIM as a professor. BUT! 10+ minutes of each lecture is review and a daily fun fact, 20% of each lecture. This is fine but when 1/5 of my time, $200, is not spent on learning I get a bit irritated that time could be better spent, especially when the course after this is difficult.

Prof. Srini was my first CS prof that I had back in 1993. He was so good that it altered my entire career and, to this day, I fondly remember him as one of the greatest professors I've ever had. I found him caring about how you did, very approachable and willing to work with you so long as you put in the effort.

I wish all my courses were taught by him. If you are a MACS student, don't miss his course. Prolly the best professor I've had in my entire academic career. The subject wasn't easy, but he made it feel like child's play. Just pay attention in class and you can easily score 90% in your midterms or end terms. Other MACS profs should learn from him.

Best prof i ever met in Dal. Dr. Srini cares his students. He explain concepts clearly in his lectures. He made simple models showing how the network stuff work to make students understand those concepts. The assignments are highly related to what he teach in lecture, which is very useful and not too hard. The grade settings are appropriate.
