Very unhelpfull and more concerned in doing things herself then helping the students to understand. Gives unbelievebly difficult exams and her expectations are too high in relation to her teaching ability.
Trounble from the start. Very unhelpful and unaccommodating lab instructor. Questionable knowledge of subject matter, yet brutal exams. Avoid!!!

I think that Stacey is a good lab instructor - no, shes not an easy one - but that makes you actually try to learn and study - yes her tests are difficult, but if you actually put some effort into it you can do very well!
I seriously question if she understands her subject area...
her tests were brutal... but I didn't find her to be a bad teacher. She was nice... and sometimes helpful.
Her classes feel like an individual study program. She'll help you but mostly your own your own to figure things out. Her tests were hard even with methodical preperation. All in all medicour teacher.
Her exams were hard in relation to what she taught us, and her expectations were unreasonalbe considering she was there to clarify and build on the already difficult lectures. She was helpful, if you could find her... between the numerous coffee and eating breaks she took. Nice personality, but a bit fake.
Her exams were brutal compared to what we went over in lab.. Marking was just as hard..

A little bit of scientist weirdness. Sometimes she talks to us like she's talking to a toddler.
She was okay, though did not like explaining things and spoke to the class as if we were 2. Would recommend maybe going with a different lab instructor.
Stacey is a great teacher and she will take the time to explain things if you are having problems.
She does not clearly explains terms to you, and the level of difficulty for quizzes and midterms in lab is too much.
Her quizes and exams? Brutal. The content on her daily quizzes are not even from info you covered that day (or previous days) in her class. She has unreasonable expectations of her students. Try to get a different instructor if you can. Good luck!
Had Stacey as my lab instructor. She made labs enjoyable and made them go by quickly. Was pretty clear on what was expected. Bio is relatively hard, but study and you will do just fine. She is approachable and you can ask her anything. She makes things funny which helps a lot! Definitely recommend Stacey for lab! :)
Stacey is really good for lab. She is very helpful and helps to prep with exams. She is very non judgemental. She also a little quirky but that is just how she is. Her in class quizzes are a bit difficult but they are helpful in prepping you for the lab exams. Would recommend.
Loved Stacey! First day of lab came off as a little intimidating, but she's actually so nice. Lectures are very interesting, her explanations are very clear and helpful. Do your lab manual exercises and you should do well. I enjoyed her class a lot so i signed up for her section in BIOL 1221.
Had her for bio lab. I found her to be pretty stuck up. Talks to the class like you're a class of 2nd graders. Only works on Fridays, so don't expect her to he on campus to ask for help or answer your emails in a timely fashion, and if you do get an answer to an email, expect it to be rude. Midterms are a nightmare.I would not recommend her class.
Stacey is very passionate and loves to teach her lab. She is very nice and wouldn't mind helping students when needed. I enjoyed her lab, though it was long and dry but is to be expected for a 3 hour lab.

Best prof for lab. She's approachable, helpful and fun. She explains everything very clearly and she made anatomy and physiology more fun. You'll be lucky to have her as a prof for anything.
I really liked having Stacey for lab. No matter what professor you get the course is bound to be hard either way, but Stacey was super helpful in lab and covered most of the material in class. Tests were hard, but if you study properly you'll be fine.
I enjoyed having stacey as my lab prof. She really knows her stuff and always finds ways to help you understand. Lab 1220 is very hard but she makes it bearable and really wants her students to succeed . I tried getting her again for LAB 1221 she is amazing!

Stacey was an amazing lab prof. She explains material clearly and she really knows her stuff. She is always happy to answer questions and often shares her memory tricks and mnemonics to remember things. Anatomy is a hard course so be prepared to put in the effort.
Lab was hard. The weekly tests are easy if you take the time needed to study. She liked to go indepth about the things she test about so pay attention when she teaches. A & P requires a lot of time spent on studying. Stacey really went in depth when explaining things, but some labs ended up becoming 3 hour lectures. Take the quizzes seriously (they aren't hard if you study), as they really do help bump up your grade at the end! ASK questions, Stacey is so knowledgeable and you can tell she loves teaching.
Human anatomy is a tough course, requires alot of work, but stacey makes it much better. Quizzes almost every week, and alot of material to cover but Stacey is great for answering questions and helping, super caring, great lab prof. If you put the time in no problem!
Tough grader. ASK all the questions, if you want to learn. Self teaching course. Doesn't go out of her way to teach you unless you ask.
She is not helpful in lab, a hard marker, and made an unfair exam during the covid-19 situation. She does not help unless you have a question and when she does try to explain concepts she cant explain it very well. Take another lab instructor. I self taught myself the course.
Stacey was such a good lab prof. She gave amazing explanations and was so understanding with anything. Obviously with the class being so hard, you should be attending and she made that clear. She made it fun, she always had music playing and is such a unique and funny person! She is very approachable and wants to help!
Stacey has poor online etiquette. Her attitude during online lab sessions is very misleading. She is very laid back during lab sessions, with frequent interruptions from her cat and family. You'll realize how misleading she is when you do your quizzes and lab exams, the questions asked go beyond what she discusses during lab. Choose another lab!
Stacey is caring. She wants her students to do well and you can tell that she is trying to do her best through online learning. Her explanations are good before labs. However, the layout of the course did not work for online learning. All of the detailed lab material was self-taught and the tests were unfair and rushed.
I LOVE STACEY AND I LOVE HER CAT. On a serious note, one of the sweetest profs ever and goes out of her way to help you on assignments. Quizzes and labs are hard with the time limit, but if you pay attention in class you should end up with a good grade.
Stacey is the best! The course is VERY content heavy, but Stacey does an amazing job of clearing up all the concepts and making students feel comfortable in her online class.
I had Dr. Aberdeen as a lab instructor. The lab manuals are long but if you put effort into completing them, they make good study guides. Her emails can feel abrupt and stand-off-ish but she was nice in person. She did a good job teaching the lab material, especially considering it was online.
Hands down one of my favourite lab profs! The course itself is heavy and Stacey makes it easier to understand. Some labs she goes in detail, but some labs she just lets you tackle it yourself. She gives a clear and concise answer when you ask her. Be responsible and always ask her for help! Labs were long but they were fun.
This is a hard class, but if you read the manual you will be fine on the quizzes. Come to lab because there are activities that are tested. She doesn't really teach you, she goes over a few things and the rest you gotta learn it on your own (its university), ask questions in lab if your unsure. otherwise read your manual and you will be fine.
Stacey is nice and knowledgeable, but she marks too hard (even if you're handwriting is rushed). She is so confused about what she can teach us and often refers to terms and knowledge that are not found in labelled parts of our textbooks. I have never seen so many people drop a lab before. Those remaining still ended up failing the lab entirely
I love her. She's super helpful and is willing to explain concepts multiple times until you understand. I ask many questions and she does not make me feel stupid when I am asking her. Her quizzes may be harder than other profs, but it prepares you for the lab test.
Don't bother emailing questions because she will refer you to ask your classmates for help as she tends to believe that if you talk to your peers who will have your questions answered. Be prepared to teach yourself most of the material because her explanations tend to be vague even when asked to clarify. Choose another lab and do you will great :)
Stacey is wonderful! She treats students like adult learners, and expects them to act like it. There is a learning curve to her way of testing but if you go over the material and study it (novel, I know), you'll be fine! Also she comes across brash in writing until you get to know her and realize she cares immensely. 100% try to get into her lab!
She is a good lab professor. She takes time explaining each lab activities but I wanted her to teach more when it comes to the hard concepts. Overall, I liked her teaching
Stacey is a VERY tough marker. She looks for any and all reasons to dock you marks. We also never did the lab activities, Her labs were more like 3 hour lectures, and she was difficult to approach with questions. Overall she was strict, but she knew her stuff. If you have her be prepared to work hard
Tough grader for absolutely no reason especially when this class is known to be a struggle for many students. Many of the lab activities were often not covered. She would then purposely put questions based on these lab activities on her quizzes. I found her to be too strict and unfair at times. Make sure you are not late to her class.
Stacey knows her stuff but often ran the labs more like lectures, explaining content more than hands on stuff. This isn't necessarily her fault as the lecture prof (Nicole W) often did not cover the content necessary to complete the lab activities. She normally has high energy and wants you to succeed but is a hard marker and often docks marks.
Weird course setup, weird lab instructor. This course is a nightmare, and the lab is horrible in the way it is setup. No clear grading criteria, everything is a big surprise. There are weekly quizzes and you have no idea what you got. Beware, you have been warned!
Labs in other science courses bring your grades up. On the contrary, lab grades in this course bring your grades down. You need to pass the lab in order to pass the course. I am sure the department must be minting money due to the fact that students will be repeating this course over and over again. The exam structure is designed to make you F.
The anatomy lab gave me extreme stress throughout the semester. Thank god I passed it and don't have to take it again, but I am aware many failed the lab and failed the course. Extremely tedious setup. Those muscles labs were the worst, could not fathom why they had to make it so difficult to get through. exams and quizzes were a nightmare. Avoid!
Anatomy lab is designed to make you fail so that you can take this course over and over and over again and the department can rake in the moolah. if you fail the lab, you automatically fail the course. Extremely tedious setup. Muscle lab is the worst trying to memorize origins and insertions.. gross, stay away!
Stacey is a great professor. She has high energy and really knows and is passionate about what she is teaching. She gets a bad rep cause the course is hard but she is probably the better if not best prof for it. The course is a very difficult course so if you don't want to put in the effort stay away.
Stacey is a really good lab instructor, she explains the concepts clearly and is always happy to help. But she is really nitpicky on grading exams and the GI lab.
Stacey was a good professor in terms of teaching and approachability. HOWEVER if you try to email her for help she will encourage you to talk to your classmates. But overall good professor would take again
Avoid Stacey at all costs. She purposefully tries to confuse her students and trip them up to get the wrong answer. She's a super tough marker, she's not there for her students, she's impossible to reach outside of class and she's rude IF she responds to your emails. I understand these classes are hard but literally any other prof is better for AP.

The best lab instructor at MRU!
Stacey is an awesome personality to have for lab. She lets us learn the material hands on with models and experiments, which other lab instructors don't. She also teaches hard concepts (like histology) very well, and is willing to help if we have any questions after her initial "lecture". You get out of her class what you put into it!!!
Stacey is a Hella Hard marker on her tests but if you do your work and use the lab time to ask her questions and clarification then you will succeeded in this class.
She is an extremely hard marker whose main mission in life is to fail everybody taking her course. Don't know what's her problem. Why don't these kind of people want to see their students succeed with good grades? Terrible
Tough grader . All her courses are a huge struggle. It seems she does not want folks to do well and excel. Makes everything so challenging that you feel bad about yourself for not getting through. Wonder how people like these are allowed to carry on for years and years. Wish there was a button to make her disappear. Awful!

Do not trust this person. I had her review my work a few times and she said everything was fine. But, when it came to the assessment, she marked mostly everything wrong. What is the point of providing good feedback and then failing a person on the same material in the exam? She seems pretty vindictive, to say the least. Avoid if possible.
Avoid taking any classes with her. Period! She loves to see everybody fail on each and every assignment, repeatedly no matter how hard you try. Has no empathy for anybody. what is the point of providing end of semester evaluations for these kind of people who then keep continuing for years on end? Such a waste of time. MRU can do better than this.
Nope, never again. Her main mission in life is to see everybody suffer and fail the course. Avoid.
Toughest instructor out there. Seeing her students flourish in their courses is not in her best interest. I would avoid her to the fullest extent possible. Wish I knew this before signing up for her class.
She should practice what she preaches. Marks are deducted mercilessly for spelling mistakes on tough scientific terms, whereas she can't spell a common everyday term like "tongue" correctly. In one of the lecture ppts, it is spelt as "tounge"... laughable, while at the same time extremely sad. "3204 Digestive II ppt 9th ed SA no tounge.pptx"
Stacey is my all time favourite prof. This class was such a challenge, and I barely passed but I participated and showed Stacey respect and in turn she respected me and took the extra time to make sure I succeeded. She gave great feedback when answering my questions and always made sure I understood before moving on to the next topic. 10/10
Horrible experience, overall - Very strict marking, does not want the students to get good grades. Very difficult class. I spent 80% of my time on this class and still ended up with the worst grades on it, while I got A's for the other classes that I spent the rest 20% of the time in. Go figure. Too much effort (useless) with no gain.
Avoid. Very challenging class and she makes it way more challenging with her strict grading.

She was okay. Her lectures were definitely reading off the lab report and not really teaching so it didn't really help with my learning. You get a lot of time to play with the models and ask her questions so if you're that type of learner she would be good. Other than that she doesn't really teach you have to ask her questions to learn the material
Avoid taking her class if you can. Very tough grader. Her lectures suck and her strictest of grading takes the cake. I found her classes very depressing and getting her grades back sucked the joy out of my life. I almost lost the will to live. I am in the process of recovery from last semester. It feels food that I don't have to see her ever again.
Her classes are a great deal of struggle and torture. so happy its over for me. never again do I have to see her... avoid taking her class for the sake of your own mental sanity.
Avoid her like anything. She does not want to see her students succeed and hence marks terribly hard - making you want to quit. I learnt nothing in her class, just lived in constant fear of failing every assignment. It was a complete nightmare.
Having bio lab with her was honestly fun and I learned a lot, she took the time to explain material that we were confused about and made jokes that helped us remember the material being taught.
stacey is a great person who is very passionate about histology- be prepared for that. she would spend the whole lab talking about the lab manual and would give very little time for independent study and would ask a lot of questions about lab results on the lab quizzes/tests. okay teacher, study a lot!
Her Histology class is nothing short of a nightmare. She plays favourites. No matter how hard you try, you will get the same grade. She makes things super difficult in this class. I spent the maximum time on this class but ended up with the lowest grade of all my courses.
This is one of those high input low output classes. Well, at least that is how she makes it to be. You can slog all semester, trying to get a decent grade, but she won't make it happen. My worst classes in MRU were the ones I took with her. Beware.
One of the worst profs. Never take her. She picks and chooses who she likes in the class and doesn't. She suspects everyone of cheating and no matter what the circumstances she want you to fail the course and basically reports everything. I was already going through a hard time, and she made it harder to get though it by adding on extra stress.

Terrible lecturer. Any passion that I had for the A&P concentration, she managed to kill it to such an extreme extent that I am motivated to pursue my masters in a diff major, altogether. Since Carol was away this academic year, I thought things will be a lot better, but alas that was not the case. She turned out to be a gazillion times worse. meh!
For BIOL3204: Histology Loved her but this class was definitely not easy and it takes a while to get used to her marking. Need to invest a lot of time studying and using microscopes outside of class because assessments are almost everyday
Avoid taking her class if you belong to a certain race. She is extremely biased towards other groups. She will give you the same horrible grade no matter how hard you try if you are not from her preferred group of people.

She is very rude to talk to. He rudeness also comes across in her emails, if you are not one of her favoured kind. I thoroughly regret taking her class. MRU can do better!

She just cares about her favourites who will dance to her tunes, the rest she just doesn't give a dime about. no matter how hard you try she will never grace you with good marks unless you are part of her favoured group. her class was sheer torture with maximum pain and least gain.
Stressful class and she makes it even wayyy more stressful with her strictest of grading. Feel bad for all those who are forced to take her classes year after year. Wish there were better options out there.

I really liked her lab! she's very knowledgable and approachable. she put in a lot of work to set up the quizzes and frequently asked for feedback. her lectures were short but informative. it's a lot of material so if you don't know something, ask!!! she's there to help and she will.

Stacey is tough and as much as I tried to explain situations impacting my performance in lab the most I'd get back was “you have to work on it” girl? Not even empathy?! lol, she does not give good feedback, she seems bored all the time unless she likes u. 100% my bad grade is majority on me, but ur prof not gaf takes a toll lol.
Yeah she is bad. If she likes you, then you are all set. If not, she will ensure you do not get good grades no matter how hard you try. Once you graduate you are gonna be at the same level of education as her, so what's with the high and mighty attitude, I wonder?
She's just an ordinary sessional instructor with a Bachelors degree. In Carol's absence she got to teach some core classes this past academic year, and she sucked at them. Nothing but terrible attitude is all she displayed to folks that genuinely needed help. No empathy nothing, just very eager to hand out fail grades. Avoid to the greatest extent.
She thinks she is a great "professor" when in reality she is bad, pretty pretty bad. Her class was nothing short of a nightmare. Maximum input with lowest output. Glad its over and I don't have to deal with her ever again.

Stacey made the labs fun and engaging. Before the lab starts she would go over the entire lab to ensure students were not confused. Anatomy is very difficult (Hardest course I've taken at MRU) so you must put in the work. Stacey clearly loves what she does and pushes students to do their best. There are weekly in person quizzes so prepare to study.
Bad, genuinely very very bad. MRU can certainly do better by hiring a real professor to teach these challenging anatomy and histology courses, rather than going with an ordinary B. Sc person on contract, who is extremely racially-biased and is deluding into thinking that she is the greatest thing on earth since sliced bread.
Absolutely STAY AWAY from this professor especially as a first year student!!!! Shows no compassion, can be very condescending and if you are in an extenuating circumstance she will. Not. Care. I was extremely intimidated during her lab, especially when everything was so new and so much information was dropped on us at once. Wouldn't recommend.
Just to clarify, she is NOT a professor - just a sessional lab instructor (out on contract) with an ordinary Bachelors degree. but this does not stop her from thinking no end of herself.... has a lot of attitude and does not treat people with respect except if you are her favourite.
Don't take it ANYTHING with Stacey she is the worst prof I've ever had. We had weekly quizzes that were so hard and never gave partial marks. she did not teach us anything in the lab but read the lab manual for an hour for some reason.
Take BIOL 1220/21 lab with literally any other professor than Stacey. She never goes through the lab manuals, unlike Valentine who would go through it from top to bottom. If you wanna teach yourself anatomy lab, then go with Stacey.
She does not hold your hand, but if you put in the work and are engaged in her classes she is happy to help. the course is very hard, but the models in the study room are identical to the models in the weekly lab quizzes so go to the bio study room and get help from Amy if you need it
if you are not on her good side she will deliberately mark you wrong, or give you half marks. its actually wild. if you are not the smartest in the class, she doesn't like you.
Overall lab is tough but it makes absolute no sense why such a cold hearted person would teach a NURSING class, the lack of empathy this woman has amazes me. She does not care about her students unless she likes you. She makes her quizzes and exams hard for no reason the lab itself is not hard it's a lot of content to keep up with. Worst lab prof.
Although I did feel as though there wasn't enough guidance surrounding the lab material, the lab quizzes and exams themselves were not difficult. As long as you thoroughly read through and understand the material, as well as go to the bio study room to look at the models, you should be ok.
Stacey is a good prof. Passionate about the content and super knowledgeable. Very friendly and cares about her students, explains more difficult concepts in a logical way and wants us to succeed. Challenging course but Stacey tries to make it as straightforward as possible. The weekly quizzes make for a lot of studying so stay on top of things
The class is tough, but Stacey made it very accessible. She gave memorization techniques and would help answer questions if we had any that went beyond the course content. Super knowledgeable, and great at teaching the content. Yes, the weekly quizzes are tough, but every section of the lab has them, not just her. I felt they were pretty fair.
Had her for the lab for BIOL 2203. Vague on what counts as an acceptable answer and what doesn't. Nice person but I wouldn't take her again.
