She is a very good teacher. She was very nice to me near the end of the semester, in the beginning she acted like a ***** to me so i didnt like her at first.

She treats students like adults and expects them to work.She teaches students how to question ideas that have simply been passed along without examination, and how to form their own ideas.Students who diss her are afraid to push themselves and grow.

I found her to be a wonderful instructor! I may not agree with every insight into the readings but she held her own in the class. She demands attention and she ins't bad to look at!

She's pretty kewl. She's understading and does her best to make English fun.

You either love her or you hate her... but I loved her! :) She's so much fun and totally down to earth.

She substituted for my class, and was extremely rude the entire time. She treated us like idiots and condescended to us the entire time. Very loud, obnoxious and concerned with her own power.

I took Stacey for both 101 and 102. She really makes English fun, and is not as bad as people are making her out to be. She is easy to get along with and a funny person also. I would recommend her to anyone.

Some people just arent prepared to do work and Stacey makes sure you do. As long as you do your assignments correctly the class is great. She is funny and makes the class entertaining. If you're prepared to slack take someone else.

Loved her. You HAVE to work hard (which you should be doing anyway), but once you get to know her she is alot of fun. And she actually helps when you ask for it. Had her for 101 and 102 and would take her again if I could!

I love stacey. I have taken her 3 times, but I would not suggest her if you want to slack off. She expects alot, but only because she believes everyone can do what she asks. She is very enthuastic and makes class interesting.

Stacey loves what she teaches, and it seems hard for her to understand that this is a required course and not just something people are taking for fun. She make you think about the stories, but seems less than concerned about grammar. However, she'll always make time for a student in need.

Stacey is a Great teacher, she is so nice and always tries to make class interesting. If you are willing to work, she is willing to reward your hard work with encouragment and help that you need.

By far one of the best instructors you could possibly have. Not only is she dedicated and extremely intelligent, but she is more than willing to help and spend extra time with the students. Very pretty woman.

I really like having her for English. She's enthusiastic and gives easy quizzes... I haven't quite seen her badside yet, but if you work hard, you'll get what you give.

I really really like her as a teacher; she's got a fun personality and a great teaching style. Everything's been pretty easy so far, and I like how much time she puts in to grading papers. I'm looking forward to the rest of the sem. and maybe having her as a teacher again in the future.

I loved her classes. She was fun and made the subject interesting. Everyone has their own opinions, but she was my favorite teacher at Juco.

Pr. Murphey is an outstanding teacher who will challenge you, but also spend time with you to make sure you understand the concepts of the literature. Not only that but she is nice to look at too.

Stacy Murphy is a wonderful teacher to have in classroom. She has been one of my all time favorite teachers. She had a rough semester, but she always kept her energy upbeat and positive to conduct a good class. She is fun to discuss intellectual concepts with regarding in class and out of class materials. I was scared to take her after previous comments but this teacher is one of the best @ JJC. shes very passionate and her grading consists of 9 reading responses for an A. Each is about 2 pages typed. She gives you all semester to do this and her grading is soooo easy. Oh yeah you do one outside reading and summarize it outloud for 5 min...EASY A!

Those who complain about Stacey, obviously didn't put the effort into her class. She is fair, fun, and a great teacher. Her class is easy providing you are willing to put forth the effort. If you aren't willing to put in effort, what are you doing in college anyway? Look at her positive marks, the are legitimate.

This blended course required considerable amount of independent study - which should be expected (it is college). Ms. Murphy is fantastic! Tough but fair, she teaches the willing students how to write correctly, preparing them for the next level. As a new adjunct instructor for JJC, I aim to be as eager and devoted to the students as she is.

I had no idea who Stacey Murphy was when going to my first day of English 102. The first day was somewhat intimidating..but overall I ended up LOVING this woman!! She really made english and writing/analysising interesting. She actually made me question whether I wanted to tack on english as a minor at my university. Although you can definitely NOT

Stacy is a wonderful teacher. She is willing to help any way she can. You have to put forth the effort to get a good grade. Class participation is necessary because it helps her see where help is needed and what areas need clarification. For those who say she's tough, stop crying. When you get to a 4 year school things won't be this easy.

Stacey is an amazing prof. she loves what she does and honestly cares about how her students perform. It is definitely important to attend class and do your work. Murph is theee most wonderful teacher a student can EVER ask for!!! She makes class so much fun! The only thing i don't like about her class is that the time spent with her is so short :( other than that, i recommend Murph to every student. She rocks!!!

I am a little bit appauled by the nazi comment a couple before mine. I think this teacher is one of the greatest that JJC has ever seen. She is blunt, she gets to the point, and she is an absoloute riot. Anyone who thinks that she is a joke obviously doesnt have a sense of humor. I dont appreciate people bad mouthing her. She is by far the best.

Stacey Murphy is one of the best Professors I've ever had. Yes, she does expect her students to do well and to spend tiome doing their work, after all that is what college is for. Its not suppose to be easy. I f you do your work and communicate with her when your having trouble with an assignment she will definitly help out. Effort is the key!

Be prepared to have your mind blown! If you're a dumbass that lacks common sense don't take her class. Although elusive at times, if you can put 2+2 together you should be fine. Attendance is a must so if you're lazy you're screwed. Lovely teacher. Your effort is your grade. She rocked my world

i loved stacey! she is one of the best teachers ever and i am not even an english major. she is very helpful and her class is not hard as long as youre not an idiot and you actually do your work. i would DEF take another one of her classes! HIGHLY RECOMENDED!!!

She was very helpful when I attended JJC. You may struggle in her class, but you will learn so much that it will be worth it in the end. She helped me apply for scholarships, and I even got a few! She cares about her students.

Good teacher! If you keep up with the class you will definitley pass! not a blow off class.. She really knows her stuff and expects you to try your best. If you aren't a good writer, she might aggrivate you.. If you go in for help and have her review your papers, she gives good input! I got an A in the class and just did what i was told.

Honestly, she's one of the best teachers I've ever had the opportunity to be a student of. I've taken two of her classes, and about to take a third. If you merely put forth a little bit of effort and show up everyday you'll breeze through!

She knows what she's talking about in her classes. She's enthusiastic and interesting. She is adamant about attendance and she only allots you one day of absences (make sure you email her). work hard, bring your materials, and show up on time, if you do that than you'll do fine.

Stacey is a phinomenal preofessor. Her class is hard but she actually TEACHES. Not just about English, but about life. She is VERY enthusiastic, pretty funny, and knows ALOT about what she teaches. She's also REALLY hot, and that's coming from a girl. Love this professor, love her!

Stacey is an amazing teacher, advisor, & person. I had her for honors english & thought she made class really fun. i can only remember one poem about sex & it was funny! she just has a good sense of humor! she makes you appreciate words & becoming a better writer. so unless you're a lazy hater, TAKE HER :D :) she's great!

Amazing teacher! I hated English until I had Stacey as a teacher. Make no mistake she's only easy on the eyes not on the work expected from you. If you're lazy or don't like to be challenged then this isn't the teacher for you. Attendance is mandatory bring your brain & all required materials. Do the work and you'll pass if not she will drop you!

Stacey will kick your butt, but she is a fabulous teacher. Don't go in thinking it's going to be a breeze because she will make you work for you grade, but as long as you listen to what she wants, do the work, and try your hardest, its an easy class. She's pretty funny and I've heard she can be mean if she wants to, but I never had to experience it

Stacey is very energetic and bubbly, but do not piss her off because you do not want to go there! As long as you show up for class and come prepared you'll always be on her good side. This class is very hard work; if you want an easy A this professor is not for you! Stacey is very helpful and I look forward to her English Honors course.

Stacy was a phenomenal teacher and by far my favorite! I am appalled with every negative comment I have read about her. I would recommend her to everyone and I wish I could take her for all my classes. I took her last semester and she said she is still always willing to help me with English 102 and that she has never stopped being my teacher.

Stacey is a great teacher, very energetic. She is very helpful when I need help, and I am very appalled of all the negativity on this for her... I have her for Eng. 096 and I am taking her again for Eng. 101. As long as you put in the effort and show up for class, she will show you the same respect and help you when needed.

The best teacher I've ever had, in ANY subject. I had her for 101, and was thrilled to have her again. British Lit was taught differently, with a lot more structure involved in the plan. Not a lot of writing needed, but plenty of comprehension is involved. She's willing to change her schedule to meet with students and help them understand.

HIGHLY Recommend. Assignments/journals help alot. Encourages those who seek help to visit during office hours. She also recognized that I am a strong writer and made me feel more confident to put in my max effort in creating essays. Sometimes, I honestly had no clue about deadlines, but it works out in the students' favors usually. You'll see.

Wow! Very approachable and easy-going. Even though it was an accelerated course that I took with her, it was totally doable. 8 required reading responses (short), but she's a very easy grader (pass/fail)! Presentations are just reading off your handout from your seat! Really cares about students, and will alter the format of tests! Great professor!

Professor Murphy definitely beats to her own drum. However, she is really helpful and always honest. Her class structure was well laid out. Her curriculum was really helpful for other classes. Word of advice, always go to class.

Great teacher. Very spunky, organized & to the point. Excellant attendance is a MUST or you will fall behind. If you are not a good writer & your willing to work towards being better, this is the teacher for you. She helps you discover your weaknesses and strenghts and helps you build from them. If you have problems she is always available to help.

Professor Murphy and Professor Perryman are the most wonderful, fun, and helpful teachers in this course. They will basically improve anyone's writing skills with experimenting in writing,and they will work on fun activities in class. They will treat you like adults unlike other professors I have had in the past. I recommend you take this class.

Professor Murphy is AWESOME, she is very helpful. She is very easy to talk to if you have any concern about anything. Very fun and energetic during class. very easy to understand what she is teaching and if not see will tell it in a different way for you to understand the material. She is simply awesome. Super funny, no filter. makes class interesting and will work with you and how you like to write. One of my top english teachers. Granted the essays are tedious, but it is college. I would suggest her for everyone. especially people that have a hard time staying interested in english and have huge writers block.

Very funny teacher. She is someone everyone can relate to. I enjoyed the class it wasn't ever boring. I'm used to getting As on papers and I ended up with B on every single one of them.

Stacey is very fun and made womens writing/literature class fun to take. There weren't any exams, all writing. Expect to write a lot of responses and long papers. Sometimes an easy grader and other times very tough. As long as you participate and do your best, you pass with flying colors.

I'd recommend to take this course over summer. Class doesn't seem to drag like it would in a normal semester. She doesn't post grades, but she had a couple one on one meetings to see where she projected you. TAKE THE RESEARCH PROJECT SERIOUSLY - do something you always were curious about learning, makes the project easier.

She's really fun and cool and she's very helpful with her work and she's there to help you be more successful in the future.

This professor is a MUST take. Her goal is to make sure you pass, she wants to you to pass as much as you need to. She wants to make sure that you understand and will answer any questions you have. Professor Murphy is such a helpful and inspiring teacher. I remember reading ratings on this site and recall reviewers explaining that she is there to help you. That is absolutely true. If you establish communication with her and put effort into your work, you will pass. This was the hardest class I've ever taken but she helped me survive it!

She was a very nice and funny teacher. She is helpful when it comes to questions. She is just a very hard grader for writing.

It's a literature class, so there's obviously going to be lots of reading. She does give the occasional pop quiz on readings, but they're fairly easy. You need to take notes during lecture on the reading and vocab, because it will be on midterm/final. The 9 page research paper was dreadful and had to do it on your own time, not much in class help.

She grades tough to make you a better writer and researcher. She makes lots of comments on papers to help guide your revisioning process. She is willing to help if you just ask her. If you put in the effort then you will improve and get a good grade. She is an upbeat person who likes to keep the class engaged. She encourages discussions & feedback.

Professor Murphy is amazing. As long as you try and ask questions, she is there to help. She wants to help and she wants all of her students to pass. I took her for eng 101 and 102 and would take her class again. I ended both classes with an A. She gives great feedback on what you need to do to improve and what your stregnths are. She is wonderful.

Not an easy instr. but again this is Eng-102. She wants students to succeed and write well. Just pay attention and give more that your 100% students will do just fine. She will make time if you are struggling if the student puts forth the effort in trying. GREAT instr. would take again

She wasn't very clear of what she wanted out of our papers. Her deadlines weren't even correct she was confusing when you asked her a question. And didn't even get my extra credit that I rightfully deserve. If I was outta options I'd take her again if there is another prof. Then I'd think more than twice.

Very cool and down to Earth. She's wiling to meet with you after class, plus she's one of the only people who can pull off bangs.

Professor Murphy is one of the best professors I have had at the college. She is witty, knowledgeable and equips students with everything they require to be successful in her course. She very clearly defines what her expectations are, and if you meet them you will pass. Very funny and makes class interesting. I am currently taking her for ENG 102.

Dr. Murphy is brilliant and really knows her stuff. Therefore, you will gain a lot from her. She brings a great understanding to anything you are taught. Although she is a tough grader, taking her classes will make you very good with English. I recommend taking her if you are an English major, or need much improvement on English.

Murphy is a great teacher for anyone who is nervous about starting college. She was a great transition from high school English to college English. She gives great feedback on papers and is more than willing to meet with you during office hours. Murphy is very caring of her students and wants the best for each one.

Mrs. Murphy was a very helpful and personable teacher. Class was easy as long as you can keep up with all of the assignments. She expects a lot from her students, but it is only to prepare them for future classes! Willing to help anytime via email or face to face. Take advantage of extra credit!!

Dr. Murphy gets a bad rep when in reality, most of the students dont put in the work. She specifically writes out what she wants in each assignment that most people dont read. Shes always has been there when I have asked for help. Its more work but she pushes you to be a better writer. If you put in the work, youll get the grade you want.

Don't get me wrong. Stacey is a good professor: it's just that English is one of the hardest subjects out there. I would not recommend this class to a first year student.

Very good professor but slightly difficult to communicate with. Flexible on due dates. Mandatory discussion board posts. One mandatory video chat session. Longest paper was 1250 words so not too bad in my opinion. She values hard work so be prepared to work. Despite this she is very understanding and is a very sweet professor.

One of the best... she always was available to discuss ideas and opportunities outside of class. If more teachers were accessible and open to help, with classwork as well as career advice, then academia would be a more accommodating environment.

I absolutely loved Dr. Murphy. She has quite the personality which isn't for everyone, but if you are good at writing papers this class is extremely easy. Her lectures and instructions for her writing assignments are clear and her feedback is phenomenal. If you put effort into what you write and effort into participation this class is a breeze.

She is a good professor, who gives positive feedback and negative feedback to encourage and motivate students to improve. She puts in extra effort in the class to be lively, and is an excellent teacher.

Dr. Murphy really truly cares about her students. It is a difficult course, but you will be okay if you work hard and give best effort. She gives amazing feedback; make sure you listen and take it. Dr. Murphy is a very enthusiastic and kind hearted professor. I enjoy her personality, but I found her to be a very tough grader on all my assignments. It is very important to start strong in this class because most of your grade comes from 5 papers (all worth different amounts of points). Earning an A is extremely difficult but it can be done.

Great class and professor. Dr. Murphy wants you as a student to succeed and become the best writer that you can. So that leads to a tough grade here and there but, there is always great feedback to learn from and improve upon. Great at responding to emails and is eager to lend a helping hand!

I liked Professor Murphy and she's a great teacher but my only complaint is that she's a tough grader when it comes to grading essays. if your somebody who is not good at English than I would find somebody but if your somebody who's very good at English than take this professor.

To be honest, Dr. Murphy is a great teacher. While she is a harsh grader, she sets you up for complete success if you put in the work. She truly does care about her students and will do anything in her power to help you. I would say this class is a little difficult, but if you show up, pay attention, and put in the work, you will pass.

Professor Murphy is an overall caring professor that wants to see her students thrive. If you received high Bs and low As on essays in high school, be prepared to be smoked by solid Cs. Its not because she doesn't care, it because she wants you to improve. Got stuck with one of the crazy classes but the atmosphere was good. Be ready to write a lot!
