A really great professor who gives you as many resources as she can to help for this class. You can tell she cares about the students and you can see the effort she puts into her lectures. This class is very demanding and requires a lot of hard work but is manageable with the right mindset. Don't skip any lectures, in-class notes are crucial!
Stats is challenging, but do-able. Dr. Patterson is an amazing lecturer, she provides you with notes so that you can write down the important things and help you comprehend the subject. If you do the daily's right after class, do the hw's in the tutoring lab sessions, and study your notes, then you'll be able to score at least a B on those exams.
She is a great professor. Her lectures are super engaging and not boring whatsoever. She clearly explains the concepts and she makes the material easier to understand. She does go over time with the lectures however. Attendance isn't mandatory but it's hard to learn the material by yourself outside of class.
Worst professor ever! She assigns a lot of homework but offers extra credit for exams. Her exams are weighed heavily.
There are better ways to learn stats. She assigns daily problems and homework that do not give you the right answer when you are incorrect so it is hard to learn what you are doing wrong. You really need to go to the tutors if you do not understand something. If you miss class, it is hard to learn the material as she does not post lectures online.
Staci is so passionate about stats and knows how to teach it VERY WELL especially for those who are slow to learning. Going to class and listening is crucial to your grade in the class, and do the dailies. You don't get feedback on what you do wrong on the dailies and hws so it's hard to improve. All exam q's are from textbook so put in the EFFORT
Professor Patterson tries to make this class easy for you to pass! The material may be difficult, but there is so much extra credit opportunity to bring your test grades up. Take advantage of going to her office hours and getting help if you do not understand a topic. DO THE TEST REVIEWS!!!!!
Taken Fall 2020, She's a good professor all lectures were uploaded and they are easy to follow. She does a good job of explaining problems but STATS is just a hard class. 90% of your grade tests the other 10% is HW. HW is hard and is actually graded. Tutors are available if you need any help. YOU NEED TO STUDY !!
I took this class during Fall 2020 online. Overall, she definitely knows what she is doing and has great lectures. However, her exams are unnecessarily hard, especially considering they make up about your entire grade. Doing all the homework and practice exams are still not enough practice to get higher than a C in the class.
This professor has to be like one of the worst professors at UH. She really is inconsiderate of students' issues especially in a pandemic, and truly does not teach well. She simply post videos and expects us to learn from them. She gives us mind tap homework assignments and practice problems and expects us to do well on the test solely from that.
Dude She is such a bad teach. Her tests is nothing like hw, lecture problems. She is cold doesn't want to help you out. the only way you can get help is from tutors. One of the things she annoyed me in her class is that she is so proud of her PhD degree and she has to mention that like at least 5 times in every single of her lecture.
This class is HARD but Dr. Staci is NOT a bad prof! She explains her lectures thoroughly, offers extra credit, and there are TA's available for help. Do not skip any lectures, understand the concept. Exams are based on concept understanding, not similar questions from lectures. DO THE 3 TEST REVIEWS! Be ready, this class will tire you out!
Dr. Patterson is probably the best professor at UH. The topics are somewhat difficult, but if you do the fill in notes, each "daily" problem (they're extra credit), and each of the three practice tests for each exam, which take about 40 min each, it's easy. I put about 4hr/week into the class (including lectures), hw avg of 75, and still got an A.
Her lectures are pretty much useless because they are easy concepts then the exam and homeworks are so hard. The only way to pass this class is by doing all the 219 practice problems. Thats the only way you can kinda understand whats going on in the class.
Took this class Fall 2020 online. In my opinion, she was inconsiderate seeing that we're in a pandemic. I reside outside of the US and we have A LOT of power outages so I fell behind. I emailed her asking for some extensions, I was also willing to give proof of the outages, and she told to ask for an administrative leave from the university.
This is the hardest class in BAUR. If you ask her a question she will say something smart to make you feel dumb. I learned more though videos and friends than the actual professor. The lectures, mind tap homework, practice exams and exams are all very different so I felt like I had to relearn how to do the material in different ways.
Different from STAT3331, BUSI2305 does not have daily problems but we do have a lot of homework on Cengage. If you just learn the lecture only, it is not enough for you to understand what is going on in the homework and the test. Terrible class. (The homework doesn't even have correct answers sometimes)
Do not take this class if you're juggling other heavy coursework. This class requires a lot of attention, w? 0 help from the professor. This class is not any easier than STATS dont believe the hype. Staci does not help you, she posts easy ass lecture videos but doesn't go over any hard problem in the videos. Be ready to teach yourself or struggle.
If you like failing or spending 15+ hours a week on a class, then I strongly recommend this class. If you are good at teaching yourself, then you are in great shape, because that is the only way you will make it through. Course average consists of 3 exams at 30% of your grade, and completely irrelevant homeworks that make up for the remaining 10%.
This is the worst class anyone can take, be ready to teach yourself. Her lectures are useless and her test are super hard. She does not help at all and is very inconsiderate. 10/10 do not recommend.
This class was mandatory for me and Dr. Patterson is the only prof. That being said, this is a very difficult class. Your test grades make up 90% of your final grade, one test can ruin your grade. The best way to prepare is watch the lectures day of, do the daily (on ec you get), reach out the moment it gets confusing, and do all 3 practice tests.
Firstly, Business Stats is hard with or without a good professor, you NEED to pay attention and go to class. The professor was good but an important note is whatever she writes down, you write down, this professor gives good advice on how to pass exams, she has small side notes in lectures on how to do certain problems with different method.
STAT in it of itself is a really hard class, but there are safeguards in place. All three tests are curved, there is no cumulative final, and she offers extra credit that is due the day after the lecture is posted. The practice tests she posts will definitely help you on the actual tests. The stats tutors can sometimes be incompetent, though.
Stats is so hard so you have to watch the lectures on time! Dont put them off as they will just pile up and it will be hard to learn content. Trust me! This class was eh, goof thing tests are curved 20% and your only grades are 3 tests (25% each) and Homework average (25%). I can only say watch the lectures weekly, she posts 3x per week. Good luck
Three tests at 25% each and homework is 25%. If you mess up a test its very hard to get an A. In order to make an A on her tests you have to do the homework, work the extra practice problems, and do the practice exams. I would not take this prof again, she does not do a good job of preparing you for her tests. Sooooo many people failed this class.
if you watch the lectures, print the notes, and do the practice exams the week of the test you should get a pretty easy A. and if you do all the dailies or most of them. Do not bother buying the access code, it was such a waste of money and I got high A's on all the exams even after I stopped doing the textbook problems.
Intentionally makes the class hard
The worst professor i have ever had, intentionally makes this class difficult and it seems like she does not want anyone to pass Only grades are exams (3 total) and homework (maybe once a week). Exams are on lockdown browser She provides lecture videos but does not do a good job at explaining the concepts you are going to have to teach yourself
This class is unbelieveably hard. Everything seems easy during the lectures until its time for the tests or homework. Do NOT take if you have a full load. This class will require all of your attention. Its a very hard class and your whole grade basically comes from only 3 tests.
You would think if you went to school to be a teacher, you would actually want to teach. Don't bother taking her, just wait until another prof is available. you have to teach yourself, her lecture videos are NOTHING like the exams. Exams make up most of your grades, honestly she should not be a professor, seems like she wants you to fail
She is a heavy grader and grades extremely hard. Don't even bother watching the lectures because 98% of the time the content on there will look nothing like exams/homework. She has such a monotone voice that watching her lectures will just bore you to death... not to mention you would learn more from the Organic Chemistry teacher's 5-minute videos.
This had to be one of the worst classes I've taken at UH. Lectures and practice problems on mind tap were understandable, but tests were not similar at all. The only thing that was similar were practice tests but even those don't tell you what you're doing wrong. Do not recommend.
Shes the worst professor ever. She doesnt want anyone to learn anything. Her videos arent helpful. The exams dont match the homework. She will ask you to buy her textbook. Its actually just an empty workbook thats extremely unhelpful and she doesnt allow refunds. She doesnt teach. She just wants to feel smarter than everyone. Save yourself.
Do not take her if you care about passing. You have to teach yourself everything because she does not care and will not give you any useful resources. Taking this advice will save you a lot of time and money. She is extremely awful.
Don't take if you care about your GPA, passed by 0.01254 points. Luckily it was P/F semester, but seriously take someone else.
Worst professor I have had so far at this university and the grading is all over the place. I have to pay to take a class where the professor makes everything seems as if it's easy and half-way teach the material. You are better off teaching yourself the material for this course or hope you get a professor other than this lady.
I guess my review got deleted because the professor saw it or whatever. But tell me why you spend tuition money along with $150 textbook for this class for the professor to say and I quote " If your final average is a 49.9999, I am sorry but you will receive an F for the class." You need a 50 to pass. Inconsiderate considering we're in a pandemic
The ratings for Professor Patterson are UNBELIEVABLY off. Yes this class is difficult, yes you have to buy a textbook(its college) but its achievable! Just because you failed doesnt mean the professor sucks. This class does take a lot of time and in order to succeed you need to put a lot of time aside. However, lecture prepare you very well!
If you do not watch the lectures, you will 100% not pass. A lot of work but doable. HW assignments take time and extra credit is very long as well (needs to be started at the start of semester itself). total 3 exams. Not too bad but you actually have to put in the work.
took patterson spring 2021 and it is definitely doable. watch lectures every week and do the practice probs that go with them. there are ALOT but if u do them little by little, its doable. DONT leave things to last minute and do each practice exam they RLY help. do all practice probs and get ur lowest exam score replaced. its def alot of effort
This professor has no sympathy and would not round up your grade to even pass. Please I request you to pick another professor or waste the opportunity for this semester because it is not worth risking your GPA. This professor does not care or have sympathy knowing that we are going through tough times and never explains the assignments.
If you do not watch her lecture videos you definitely will not pass. She explains things well but stats is a hard class overall. There were 3 tests that were very hard but she would give curves. If you do all the practice problems throughout the semester, the overall grade of the practice problems will replace your lowest test grade.
I thought she was a good professor. Stats can be hard if you aren't good at math (obviously), but I think she did a good job explaining things. Do the daily extra credit. Print the notes. Do all the practice tests. Doesn't take a ton of effort to learn IMO. I bet most of the people complaining didn't do all the extra stuff, common theme in college.
Statistics is hard in general and this class requires a lot of practicing in order to earn a good grade. Her lectures are posted on Blackboard and there are lots of practice problems for each of the exams. She gets lots of bad reviews, but she is a great professor. Keep up with the class work and practice, practice, practice. Tutoring is available.
With a 70 and an 85 on the 2 curved exams, 100's on the extra credit practice problems, and 95 on graded HW, I made an A-. TAKE HER
Im fully convinced that the people who complained about this class are the same ones not willing to put any effort into school. Start studying for exams at least three days in advance and do each practice test multiple times. I literally stopped going to this class after Exam 2 because I did well on the first two tests and finished all the PPs.
Dr. Staci is an AMAZING professor! Her class provides a lot of information, and a lot of studying to do, however for a business student you have to know if you want to take things seriously or not. She will help you throughout the course if you want to pass. The course is not hard, it IS time consuming, but you do have to put the work to pass.
Dr. Staci is the best professor I have taken at UH. The class material is hard so be sure to follow her study plans and do the practice problems. She records mini-lectures in case you don't go to class, they serve as a great review tool. Get her class notes packet as soon as you can! I slacked the last couple of weeks but managed to get a B+.
After taking this class 3 times, I finally passed with a C. This is one of the hardest classes at UH. Be prepared to study hard. What I didn’t like was that her lectures had nothing to do with the hw or tests. She explained her lectures perfectly, it just didn’t coincide with the hw. Tests are worth the most so please study.
This class is extremely hard, but if you put in the work and do the practice problems you can easily pass. There is a curve for every test and a different grading scale because of how difficult the material is. She cares about you being successful and actually makes you understand the material.
I loved this teacher and the way she teaches. I went into each test thinking I was going to do well, but when I saw my grade I failed. This class is very hard and I attended class everyday. I did all of the practice homework and studied like crazy, but I ended up having to drop it. Take this course at your own risk.
Stats is mildly difficult with Patterson as you have 3 tests (no final) and you can replace your lowest test grade with the practice problems. The practice problems are just like the homework and help you understand the topic. Also, she posts lectures online so you do not have to go to class. The tests are like the practice exams.
Great and enthusiastic professor. She explains everything in detail during class and has 5-minute video lectures to supplement with. The course itself is extremely tedious and the passing rate is low, but feasible to pass. Make sure to do all the extra credit practice problems, homework, and study in advance for exams with the practice exams.
Do practice problems to replace lowest test grade. Do practice exams over and over again! I feel like Dr. Staci makes things harder than they need to be. Not the best lecturer. I stopped showing up half way through the semester since her online videos get straight to the point. You should be fine if you did your practice problems.
This class is doable. I didn't like the textbook though. Homework due every other week, and practice questions due before the exam. Practice exams are helpful in preparing you for the exams. I had a good time in this class. It's not a "blow off" class so you actually have to work for your grade. She's pretty entertaining. It's not that bad.
A great teacher with a lot of energy. The material is very tough and exams only get harder. You have assignments due every 2 weeks, and 3 tests. Before the tests you have to complete the practice problems. Some are composed of around 9 different chapters with almost 15 questions each; Will replace your lowest exam grade. Do all the work to pass.
The exams are not the same as the lectures. Hardly anyone passes her class.
Her lectures in person are very energetic and her online lecture videos are detailed as well. This class is heavily weighted on the tests, however, do the practice problems and get a 100! They'll help you understand the class better and she replaces an exam with the practice problem score. Stat is a doable A if you put forth the effort.
Requires a lot of work but nothing you can't handle. The exams are just like the practice exams. Also, complete the practice problems and get 100% on them; your lowest test score can be replaced. I recommend going to her lectures she's very enthusiastic and teaches you precisely what you need to know. Put in the work, and you will do good!
The professor is nice and makes lectures interesting and explains the material very well. I went to class half the time enjoyed in person lecture, however if you don't go to class you can watch her videos. Her videos are very helpful and help you learn the material from your required notebook very easily.
This class was the worst experience of undergrad I've had. The tests are nothing like the exams or practice questions. Professor isn't too nice when asking questions and was super condescending. Take someone else if you can.
Don't take her. She is the hardest and the worse professor at UH. Her exams are not nothing like what she teaches in the class. With all the videos and tutoring most students still fail, because of her exams. Take this class at HCC or else where. Many students take it multiple times and still fail her class.
I walked into this course thinking it was going to be horrible but it wasn't. This is not a blowoff class. The professor teaches very well the material, but you do have to review the material outside of class and do the practice problems to understand it. If you don't or become lazy then the class will become a bit hard but overall its not bad.
She is making this class harder than it should be. Exams are very hard. I took with her twice and only got C. I needed C+. I'm taking it HCC with Dale Konicek. He is great. Fifty percent of grades are homework and fifty is Excel. Super easy class. I am finishing the class with A+. Take it with him and thank me later
This class is unnecessarily hard. Make sure you do all the practice problems to bump up your lowest test grade.
Though tests but there are plenty of extras to help you pass. I am not sure if all stats classes would be this hard but the professor is very clear and energetic while teaching.
Honestly, she is one of the best professors ever. She gives you everything you need to be successful on the test. I came into this class thinking it would be super hard and it really wasn't. Do all the practice problems, actually, put effort into the class and you'll get an A. Do not let the bad reviews scare you!
The class is very hard, lots of studying to do. Do ALL your practice problems they really do help. She is very good at explaining things in her lectures.
Statistic is already hard by itself, but she's not the best professor. Her test reviews are nothing like the test, and the videos of her lecture are way better than her actual lecture
barely passed this class. i had mental breakdowns. i set the notebook on fire after the final. this class will be forgotten by me, never to be spoken of. i am so blessed to have passed the class first try. extremely difficult, but the practice problems help you. do them all. dont skip class. you will cry. be prepared.
Course is easy, but study. Beware of Ch.14 & do ALL practice problems. SHE, however, dgaf and will fail you without remorse for an honest mistake or if you're literally bed-ridden with COVID :) I went for the 1st exam on the wrong day & she didn't care or offer the make-up exam. When I had COVID (3rd exam) she wasn't understanding at all. Good luck
Amazing professor. Lectures are engaging and easy to follow, but I found it easier for me to just stay at home and review her recorded videos. Class is very test heavy, do your practice problems and study them! Study the test reviews she gives you! Free extra credit worth up to 50 points on an exam. If you do, you will make an easy A.
You have to be prepared to study the math and do the practice problems. From the few people I knew taking the course, they said they were failing and ultimately dropped the class later in the semester. Please do the practice problems because they up your grade in the end, I'm begging you. She teaches straight to the end of class, so be attentive.
Professor Patterson is very energetic and gives great curves, but her lectures are mediocre. I cannot fully grasp concepts in her in-person lectures due to her bouncing off the literal wall every 5 sec. Would prefer watching her online lectures instead as they are to the point. This class was so hard everyone struggled...
Professor Patterson is on my mount rush more of the most amazing math teachers I've had over the years. Her in-person lectures are not boring she keeps you engaged. If you review your class notes and do the practice problems you will be a OKAY. The practice problems add an extra 50 points to your grade and overall help you learn the material. 10/10
Lectures were easy to follow at first, but the material quickly becomes too much to cover with just lectures. Teacher was not great at explaining things. The material taught in class was much easier that what was actually on the exams.
According to the oratrice meanique d'analyse cardinale, we now turn to the oratrice meanique d'analyse cardinale, the judgement of the oratrice meanique d'analyse cardinale is that this class is pretty boring. I bet she is not gonna pull for Fuirna in the 4.2 update
Showed up to a the first few classes and realized I wasn't learning from someone who talks constantly and really quickly. The online lectures were the exact same as in person so it was useful to review. She's nice and helpful. DO THE PRACTICE PROBLEMS. ALL OF IT. it saved me
Coming from a student whose lowest grade was a B in college (now Junior), this class is horrible. Her lectures had nothing to do with the homework or tests. There are too many practice problems to the point where it's hard to study because the practices take too much time. Beware if you work full-time. I would not recommend it to anyone.
Engaging professor, just tough material. I would get bored if I got lost, but that's my problem. The extra credit is extremely generous, do all the extra credit. Brought my grade from a D- to a C.
This class was a very stressful time. Staci is an alright professor but I found her lectures hard to follow and not accurate to the exams. I barely passed and everyone was struggling but luckily was able to because of the extra credit given for the practice problems. I recommend taking this class at a community college instead.
3 curved tests 90% of grade no attendance required. Bonus points for up to 50 of your lowest exam ( on top of it being curved) if you do the bonus questions ( a lot so do it beforehand). Tests should not be too hard if you spend effort.
Ms. Patterson is very engaging and her lectures were always energetic. There is a bit more than average homework but gives practice problems as extra credit for the entire course. I would recommend you do them since it can be a +50 to your lowest exam grade. The final exam is not cumulative.
Test heavy
She was very engaging in all of her lectures, but if you did not attend you can easily fall behind. Definitely recommend doing the practice problems and the practice tests, and if you can keep up with all the work then this class can be an easy A.
Class was challenging, since you have to be really time managed. It has 3 tests, which account for 90% of grade, the rest is homework. Do the extra credit !! not only helps your grade, but also allows you to grasp the concept better because (at least for me) some of it didn't make sense in the lecture
There is a lot of work for this class but most of it is optional for extra credit. If you do the optional homework you can get 50 points added to your lowest test which is very helpful. All of the lectures are online so you don't need to go to class but she is very good at teaching the subject and seems to care a lot about our understanding.
She knows her material very well and gives you short cuts to formulas, so you don't have to do it the long way. But if you don't understand her short cuts then you may have to read the textbook from time to time which is what I did. PLEASE do the practice problems throughout the semester. Treat it like its homework. It's an amazing exam booster.
Decent professor, just tough course. Make sure you do ALL the practice problems or else your cooked. 3 total exams. Exams are nothing like practice problems or lectures. Lectures are all online so you don't have to attend class. Would recommend taking this course somewhere else.
Would recommend taking at a community college..
Dr. Staci Patterson is nice with a ton of energy everyday. But class is pretty hard and time consuming. If you take this class, make time for all the practice problems please! It will save you. If you also work, time management is key. Multiple concepts to keep up for. Overall I don't recommend you take it at UH and take BUSI 2305 at another school
Pre-business majors will most likely take this 2nd semester. Consider taking this at another school. Lectures don't completely correlate to practice problems or homework. Look in the MindTap textbook for better help. Practice exams help a little bit for the test but no explanation for answer after submitting. Practice problems save you. Good luck!
It's not a hard course if you put in time and effort. I did not read the textbook, I just went to class or watched her videos and finished all practice problems and homework assignments. Dr Patterson gives good lectures that keep you engaged and shortcuts to solving questions.
This class is literally insane , she is a very fast paced professor and she doesnt really care about if your there or not. She also talks very fast and the class is huge. The stuff she goes over she already expects you to know and teaches it as such. This class is horrible. One thing i will say is that DO YOUR PRACTICE PROBLEMS!!!!!! They save you!
Actually really enjoyed this class! Her lectures were clear and well presented. Attendance not mandatory but attending lectures leading to exam day is highly recommended. This is a class you will need to put more effort in if math is your worst subject, so do the practice problems. If you relatively like math (like me), the class is not a big deal.
This class is definitely rigorous however, if you attend the lectures and do all of your homework you will be very well prepared for the exams. She does review sessions before each exam, you just have to put in the work outside of class. You can tell she loves stats and has a lot of energy during her lectures which helps you stay engaged.
Honestly the class isn't hard it's just like an average class on difficulty. However, you need to set aside so much time in order to pass, because the practice problems WILL help you near the end (SO DO THE PRACTICE PROBLEMS). Other than that your graded on 3 tests (no cumulative) and 7 Homeworks.
This class is very heavy, if I had more time I would've gotten a much better grade. She does offer extra credit which is up to 50pts on your lowest test grade. The only thing is the test is MUCH harder then any of the material taught so take that as you will
This class is a LOT of work. I was on the precipice of an A but started lacking for test 3. Do the homework and practice problems as soon as they're assigned and go over notes once class ends. This class is doable but you can't slack throughout the whole semester if you want to succeed. Her lectures are energetic and well-paced. Good prof!
The professor herself is caring and helpful, but her lectures are very rushed and use examples way easier than the actual homework problems, rely more on the lecture material and the red book she provides more than the actual textbook, the tests are WAY harder than the hw make sure you do practice tests, do your PRACTICE PROBLEMS!!, they will save u
if u aren't trying to study… do NOT take her. She's a great professor and is aware that this class is hard which is why she curves. Do the practice problems that will help you a lot for the end of the semester curve. Study a lot alone. Usually what she teaches in class is easier than practice problem and exams so STUDY.
Loved this Professor! Don't listen to the other reviews…. A lot of them just don't like statistics. IF YOU HAVE TO TAKE STATS TAKE STACI. She was great in office hours and very caring as a person. She really helps you understand the material and gives plenty of extra credit which helps bump your grade up at the end. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!!
This class can be tough, but doing all the practice problems is key. Lectures are fast-paced, so attending is highly recommended. Unstuck study was a lifesaver for exam prep - the practice tests and explanations really helped solidify the concepts.
At first, I was scared when I chose this class because of her low rating and bad reviews, but she is one of the best professors I've had so far. Her lectures are thorough and amazing. She is interactive and makes her class worth going to. Just take all notes, do the practice problems (extra credit), and turn in all homework.
She obviously loves what she teaches and has a silly spunk. Not sure why she has a low score, her lectures are very thorough. She posts lectures online which was helpful. Make sure to do the MindTap problems because you can get up to 50 points added to your lowest test score by doing them. Closest thing to tests are the practice tests so do them.
If you're not a Finance/ supply chain, you should transfer this credit over, grade is based off 3 exams worth 30% each and 10% homework. This class can be hard, you have to put in time outside of class to actually understand the material. She posts her lectures which is very helpful do ALL your practice problems to add up to 50 pts to lowest test score
Just be ready, this class is very exam heavy. But she offers an insane amount of extra credit for your lowest exam grade. She has all her lecture videos online, but I would still recommend going to class. She was a great teacher and very energetic, I would highly recommend her!
One of the best professors I have had. She has a real talent for breaking down hard concepts into easy-to-understand explanations. Extra cred is added to lowest exam grade if you do mindtap practice problems. Class is very interactive, and you can really tell how passionate she is. My advice is to go in with an open mind and believe in yourself.
This was the hardest math course I've taken, but Prof. Staci did her best to make this course as smooth as possible. There are 3 exams and I recommend doing the MindTap problems as their points are added towards your lowest exam grade. I also recommend taking multiple attempts at the practice exams as they are somewhat similar to the actual exam.
Don't let the negative reviews scare you! Honestly, coming from someone who isn't good with math, it was hard at first. However, after you get the hang of it, it's very much possible. Exams are similar to the practice exams & homework problems. Please , PLEASE do the practice problems so you don't have to worry about the last test!
less youre a SC/Finance major, take this at a CC. So much work and time. Concepts are fine, but she doesn't go in depth. You end up self-taught using ChatGPT and practice problems for hours. Pass the first exams or forget an A—or even C. Start PP after class, make cheat sheet for HW, then study guide. Last exam? I guessed everything. Online Vids.
She is the best professor I've ever had. Very organized, has answers posted to literally any question you could possibly have, and has clear video examples as well if you can't go to class. The bad reviews are very misleading. If YOU can't stay on top of the workload / make it to your exam, that is your problem, not hers 🤣
Professor is good, not a big fan of her teaching method. Feel like she skips a lot of teaching steps and lot of "where she got this number from" moments. Does give plenty of extra credit and the online lectures she posts are slightly better than her in-person lectures. Sometimes her notes are not like the practice problems/homework.
She's a caring & good prof, but just a decent lecturer. She doesn't go in-depth into concepts, and you will end up teaching yourself. The class is very demanding with a lot of work, and the practice problems are nothing like the exams or what she taught in class, but they will help you (do them). If you have time, take her; if not, do it at CC.
Professor Patterson is not bad. If you show up, put effort into the practice problems, and try your best, you can pass. The class has 3 CASA exams. She's passionate about teaching, and if you try to pay attention you can learn easily. Tutoring is semi helpful.
Very passionate & good at what she does. Her in-person lectures are good, but online videos help far more. I think most of it has to do with the fact that the writing in-person deducts from peoples learning and makes the fast-paced material feel even faster. If you have time, this class should be a breeze. If not, I'd suggest doing it at a CC.
Dr. Patterson was an awesome professor. This course provided a great insight on Business Statisitics in the business industries. The lecture was great and as long as you complete the assignment on time and make sure to look over any notes she posted. Make sure to use the tutor. Overall, this was an awesome course. (Took it in Fall 2024)
This class is hard I can't lie, and the resources given to you are limited. Don't be me and feel lazy to do the practice problems. Took this class in person so be prepared to face CASA testing. If you dislike math and feel like you'll need more personal help with it, do not take her. I ended up having to teach myself and I still feel really lost.
Don't believe anything less than a 4. Lectures are great, videos are just as good. A=85%, Exam heavy, 50 exam points credit offered. The textbook is simply a workbook. She WILL make stats easy. If you don't listen to lectures and don't study for the exam, then DUH you're going to fail. A- with minimal effort. (Never did the hw)
She is a good professor with good and interesting lectures but lacks in explaining some topics for the tests! The class is extremely test heavy with weird tests and wording. She offers practice problems that you SHOULD do. If I did even a few more practice problems I would be sitting at a B-. Make sure to do them!!
Professor Staci was a good person overall, but it was so hard to follow in the class. She went too fast and rather than break down the problems, she would plug in the formula and then solve it; jumping to the answer. I struggled with the pace of that class and the amount that was given on top of my other classes and work.
Prayed every day b4 class I would get sick just so I could use it as an excuse to miss class
