she is amazing! i consider it an honor to have had her! she doesn't give away free A's, but put forth a little effort and you're golden! she always makes it SUPER easy to do well b/c she is so enthusiastic a/b social work, but real laid back, too.

She's always willing to answer any question you have and does it through a social work perspective. All assignments were meaningful and got you thinking. never did busy work. Great teacher! She is passionate about the field, which really help me get pumped about the major! I also have her for 2375 and literally can not wait to have an awesome teacher like her again. If you are trying to decide on the major take her class, it ignites a spark of passion in you for the filed of social work!

I LOVEEE MRS.MCGEE. she is the reason that I decided to major in social work. she makes her class fun and you learn a lot of at the same time! i wish i couldve taken her for 2375 too but her class was full. such an amazing woman and teacher. DEFINITELY TAKE HER!

Mrs. McGee is THE one you want for both SOWK 1350 and 2375. She encourages dialogue among all of the students and is open to everyone's opinions. If you are thinking about taking a course in social work (or if it's required) take her! You are required to come to class but you will WANT to!

Had her for 1350 and loved her so much took her for 2375. If you are working and going to school full-time, you will NOT have time to do the work required for her 2375. Between the volunteer hours, logs, legislature paper, agency paper, and presentation, yeah....good luck. I heard other teacher doesn't require as much. Good Luck

I took her for both 1350 and 2375. She doesn't give more work than others and I got through both classes with a full load of classes and working a full time job. I finished one with an A and the other a B. She is amazing and I wish she taught more SOWK classes!

Easy a. If you do both interviews, make a b on both test. Do the extra credit which can be a essay on media or newspaper you will pass.the catch is attendance is mandatory. You get one free bee. After that 5 pts deducted from overall grade for each day you miss. Also each week there will be a guest speaker. I recommend

This class was very easy and very interesting. Her personal experience helps her teach the class through examples and makes you enjoy going to class. There are guest speakers every week, most of which are really interesting. Attendance is mandatory unless you want to lose a lot of points. The short readings book is necessary but the textbook is not

This teacher is awesome. She is a social worker in real life and is super funny. She really makes the class interesting. Attendance is mandatory. Her sowk1350 tests are pretty easy and the online review website helps A LOT with the tests(as in a lot of the online quiz questions are on the tests.) This class is fun and gets you excited about sowk!

Stacie is the most dedicated professor I have had in my 7 semesters at Texas State. I have had her for 3 classes (rearranging my schedule to make sure I could take her class) and am so grateful for her! She recognizes each student as an individual and she really just CARES about the work she does. Research paper was hard... but hey, it's college!

Stacie is a fabulous professor! She is very passionate about the field of social work and always has interesting stories to share with the class! This is one of my easier classes. She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities, the tests are super easy (matching, true or false, multiple choice & extra credit). She grades easily. TAKE HER!

This was an easy and fun class. Stacy makes the field interesting and the class goes by really fast.

Have taken both her intro classes and went with her to do study abroad. Stacie is a FANTASTIC prof. She genuinely cares about her students. Attendance is rigid but her class is genuinely interesting so you actually want to go to class.

She's always there to help you if you ask. She has a pretty intense absence policy and honestly it's a good thing. You get one free absence then any more days you're gone you get a grade deduction. The lectures are really great and she always puts her own experience into it and makes it funny. The tests can be difficult if you don't study.

McGee was my favorite teacher this semester. You can tell she knows her stuff and that she loves what she does which made class fun. I'm taking her again next semester because she is really just that awesome. Attendance is mandatory and there are 2 assignments that you will need the textbook for and that's it.

I liked her a lot, she was great mainly bc she has a lot of experience within her profession. As long as you study the lecture notes and look extra over the subjectwords that she gives you as a "study guide," tests are easy. BUT u need to be actually interested in what your learning or else you attitude will reflect your grade. 1-2 extra credits.

Absolutely loved Mrs. McGee! She is passionate about her work and you can tell that everyday in class. The essays and papers she assigns are useful to know if you plan on being a social worker. She's hilarious, compassionate, and hands down the best professor I've ever had. I highly recommend her!

I had her for SWK 1350 last semester, and am so glad to be taking her class this semester for 2375. She is the definition of a great professor. Even if you aren't a Social Work major, you will absolutely love this professor. Her lectures are interesting, only two or three exams, LOTS of extra credit opportunity and a few papers.

My favorite class hands down. So funny and easy to follow. A few papers and a few exams, but they're not hard if you pay attention. You definitely will not fall asleep in this class.

She is a very nice, and caring teacher who cares about the subject she is teaching. Class is mostly lecture, but it is not boring lecture. Any question you ask, she will know the answer.

I suggest doing all the extra credit you can. You need to do the 50 hours no matter what. Follow the directions for all the papers and include everything she ask for!! It is a lot because the hours you need to finish, but Professor McGee is amazing! Only take this class if you have more than enough free time outside of class! It can be overwhelming

Very patient and open professor. She takes the time to help you understand. Not a lot of work, mostly reflective essays. I took her class during the presidential election, and, just a proof of her character she allowed the entire class time to be spent having open conversations about what we were all feeling.

Stacie is awesome! She is kind and understanding and wants you to do good in the class so she will help you! Attendance is counted so you need to come but she's good at making class enjoyable.

Stacie is one of the head figures of the social work department and makes herself known. In my experience in multiple classes she is a hard grader and takes things very seriously. Although that is the case I love her classes because she is honestly a great teacher. She tries her best to keep things interesting and treats students with respect.

She is hands down my favorite social work professor. She is very caring and accessible outside of class. Attendance is mandatory but hey its college you are paying for it. TAKE HER!!!! She will make you a better writer. She also gives A LOT of extra credit. There is no reason why you would get less than an A is you do your work and the extra credit

Stacie is amazing!! She will keep you engaged throughout her lectures which makes time go by very fast. She cares for every single one of her students. However, she is very tough on APA style which means any mistake that you make in your works cited will affect you harshly. Exams are easy.

Stacy is one of the best professors I have taken at Texas State her class is very interesting and you will not be bored. The only thing she is hard on is grading apa format but even then she'll work with you. Her class is super easy all you have to do is pay attention and do you work. She cares about her students and is the best.

Stacy is one of the best professors that I have had at Texas State so far. She is passionate about the Social Work profession and it shows in her teaching. I wouldn't recommend taking her class unless you are a social work major because the required volunteer hours for the class are time consuming. She also is a tough grader on papers so watch out!

Stacie is a tough grader and she does not grade fair at all. She will not teach you APA at all!!!! Everything is in APA and your citations are half the credit for the paper, so you automatically will fail if you mess up your citing. Side comments are made if you ask a dumb question and she can be rude. Take online if you can do not take her.

Very sweet. Cares about her teaching and her students. Grades fair and gives fair amount of homework/grades. Her classes were fun and most memorable.

I loved Stacies class. She can be tough if you are a student who doesnt try or attempt to try. Her rubrics are very clear and her grading could be tough if you dont follow it. She is patient with you as long as youre trying to do the work and not slacking! I think she is educating the next round of social workers to her best abilities!

The professor is very knowledgeable and does make class engaging, however she is also a really tough grader. She will give you multiple BIG point assignments that are 5 pages plus and give HALF CREDIT if the citation is incorrect or you address the wrong elected official. I would recommend that she goes over APA in class if she plans to deduct 50%.

I love Mrs. Stacie. Shes probably one of my favorite, if not my favorite professor at Texas State. If you take her, you will learn something. The class is essay heavy, but she grades fairly. As long as you dont BS the papers too bad, youll do fine. She genuinely cares, and want you to pass. She is really sweet, and you should take her class 100%

McGee was very specific about her expectations and the class is intense. Anything short of perfection in following sometimes complicated directions will be a loss in points. However, as an older student who's already had one career, I can tell she is simply prepping us for the harsh reality of being a SW. It can be a tough and unforgiving world.

McGee gives really great lectures and helps you understand the topic. She knows what she is talking about, and assignments are fair. There are LOTS of essays, but as long as you do the work, its not hard. She is truly a great professor, but her attendance policy is really strict. 5pts off for an absence, 2 tardys is an absence. Don't get sick!

Stacie is a great professor, but she has high expectations for her students. Attendance is mandatory, so do not skip class. Do the extra credit! If you turn everything on time, communicate any questions you may have, and try your best on APA - you will do just fine. You will be required to volunteer at an agency, so keep that in mind.

I'm guilty to say I didn't realize how great Stacie is until I had another professor. She is a very tough grader which is why I didn't take her for 2375, but she is very passionate and insightful. I learned so much in her class and enjoyed the way she made me think in class participation and I found the assignments/papers really interesting.

Be sure to learn APA citation she is very particular about citations! She is a great teacher, very caring, and wants her students to do well. There is one discussion per week, and about 4, 2 page papers. 3 open note exams. She gives extra credit opportunity. If you make an effort you will do well. I would take this professor again.

You have to learn APA quickly, because every social work class uses APA. The workload is easy compared to higher level social work classes. I wrote 15 papers in school social work. The difficulty comes with the added placement hours. Shoot for 6 hours a week and you wont scramble around finals. Speak up in class.
