Conrad is an amazing professor. She is willing to work with you. All accounting classes uses connect, and every accounting class has the same amount of homework. Connect sucks, but Conrad is willing to work with you to help you pass the class.
She's great and very straight forward about the material. Only "negative" would be that she gets side tracked during lecture. Over all she is very friendly and willing to help you. It's also nice that she teaches the material very well.
She is the best professor I've taken so far. She is amazing and works with you. She teaches the material very well, and teaches it where everyone can understand it. I would definitely recommend this professor. She has 3 tests, and they are super easy!
She's a great professor. Her lecture's and interesting and straight forwards. She is accessible outside of class and responds quickly to emails. She has three tests and the third test is held during finals week. She had one class in person and made her second class online. She gives a detailed review which makes her tests easy! Easy A.
Awesome professor. TAKE HER! Flexible with deadlines and gives lots of extra credit.
Sweetest prof I've ever met! In person class, but work is online. 1st exam in class but changed the 2nd to online. Gives extra credit for finishing assignments before due date. Opened all the assignments back up to give us a chance to raise our grades. Lots of hmwrk but its easy. Relates topics to her family stories which are hilarious! Take her!
Super easy awesome teacher. Her lectures are super interesting. She tries to base her lectures on real life information, which connects accounting to everyone. Her tests are super easy, she gives alot of extensions. She wants everyone to pass and is super flexible. If you want an easy time, take this professor!!
Prof Conrad is wonderful. Lectures are simply laid out, working through example problems for the chapter. She loves talking about her family. Enthusiastic about the subject. 3 assignments due/ week, all with extra credit possible. Friendly, happy lady. I wish I could take her for every class.
Professor Conrad is hands down the best accounting professor. She explains everything that you need to know and she is more than willing to help you out. The assignments are not difficult at all! She offers many extra credit opportunities too! She is an awesome professor and I highly recommend that you take her for accounting 2013!
She used her real life experiences to make this course make sense. She asked a lot of questions and when lecturing she actually interacted with the students and made sure we understood the material, not just memorize the answers. She is by far the best professor I have had.
Best and easiest class I have ever taken at UTSA. All homework, tests, etc. are online and should pose no issue as long as you do the work. I quickly realized that there was no reason to go to class other than to hear Professor Conrad speak (attendance was not mandatory but sometimes she gave extra credit for being there).
Honestly the easiest class ever. If you put in effort at the beginning it is easy to slack off at the end because she gives so much extra credit, and a 90 is an A which is the highest grade you can make in the class. She tries to make accounting connect to everyone by talking about real life problems. If you want an easy A take this professor.
Great teacher, learn a lot from this class. Goes deep into the rule of .
Amazing professor, helps in any way she can, put in the work and you will get an A.
I don't think i've ever had a professor that made a class so interesting before, she makes accounting so easy and relatable with everyday life. If she's available for my next ACC class i'll pick her. She gives you every opportunity to pass and get extra credit. I don't think its possible to get anything below an A. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!
Great teacher. Looks out for her students and is always very understanding. If I could take this class again, I totally would.
Professor Conrad is the best professor I have ever had. She loves to relate accounting to her family. This course has encouraged me to switch my major to Accounting. There is a lot of homework but she gives so much extra credit just for showing up to class or for turing in your homework early. Love this class.
She makes accounting so easy & is really a great professor. If I could take all my accounting classes with her I would. I definitely recommend!
She is the most amazing professor I have ever had! I thought accounting would be boring but she made me fall in love with it! Very quick to respond to emails, she shows she really cares. Gives LOTS of extra credit and has fun lectures! I feel it is impossible to get a B in this class, would definitely recommend! I took her in class and online :)
Awesome professor. Makes lectures fun by telling stories and being funny. Gives TONS of extra credit. Do the homework and take advantage of the extra credit and you'll get an easy A. Highly recommend.
One of the best professor's I've taken at UTSA. Class is an easy A if you show up and do the homeworks.
She is amazing! She understands that the course can be difficult but is willing to help. I've never had a professor who really cared until I took her. She is such a funny and inspirational person. She is very relatable personally and tries to make class relatable in the sense that it can be useful.
DUDE I LOVE HER! She is so so so awesome! She makes accounting simple and shes so energetic! She gives real life examples and really cares that her students understand the subject! Take her and youll have no regrets!!
Take her class! She's the best professor for accounting ever! I took her online and the lectures on connect didn't seem to help much but she uploaded lectures from her on campus class that breaks things down very nicely. Exams are easy as long as you figure out and study the boot camp quizzes. HW isnt too difficult if you see her lectures and read
Professor Conrad is the best!! You will not regret taking her. She makes class interesting and easy to understand by providing real life examples! Her class is a guaranteed A if you pay attention and do all of the work. She does not have multiple choice tests but if you study the material they are easy enough to make a good grade!
Top 5 Professor at UTSA. Really caring and wants you to pass. Gives tons of extra credit. Just put some effort in and you will pass. 10/10 would take again.
It was a 5-wk Summer course, so take that into account. Busy work, online vid lectures didn't cover all material, quizzes due before HW was due. Poor communication. Getting an A was doable, but it was a huge pain. Probably a good Prof, but don't take her for Summer semester (esp. a 5-wk course). She seemed uninterested in doing the Summer class.
One of the best professors ever. She really cares about her students. And has the funniest stories to tell that somehow always relate to accounting. SI sessions are helpful too. Don't slack though because the course itself is kinda difficult, just work with her.
Stacy Conrad is one of the best/most caring professors Ive had. Do YOUR own work and its an easy A. Do NOT join groupme for this class. She threw out exam 3 and made exam 4 in-person, essay based, cumulative and worth 44% of our grade bc a few cheated in the groupme.
Mrs. Conrad is one of the best professors I have ever had. She inspired me to change my major to accounting because she made it so easy and fun! I really enjoyed being in this class. You have homework due every Monday, but it is not too difficult but does take a little while. The tests are pretty easy and if you study the review, definite A!!!!!
Long ago, the four cheaters lived together in harmony. Then everything changed when the Snitch Nation attacked. Only the Conrad master of all four Accountings, could stop them, but when the world needed her most, she vanished. A hundred years passed and the class didn' t & I discovered the new Conrad, an accountant named Stacy.
Professor Conrad completely changed the syllabus on us by making our final worth 44% of our grade, cumulative, and in person. She was terrible at communicating with us and would leave us in the dark about this new test. No study guide, no help. Our exam was originally supposed to be online, over a few chapters, and worth 11% of our grade.
DO NOT TAKE SHE IS HORRIBLE
Reviews dont cover exams at all.
Stay away!!!! Do not take her class!!! Very tough grader, rude, and inconsiderate. Worst professor I've ever had.
I am so glad that this class is over. Ridiculous amount of homework and was given little to no feedback about tests. Pick a different professor!
Professor Conrad is the best professor I have ever had. She is hilarious, and relates her lectures to real world situations. She gives test reviews that are identical to exams.
She failed the entire class for one group of people cheating. Do not take this professor she gave me depression
She is very rude and made our final exam worth 44% of our grade. The class was online she made us come in on a Saturday morning. She also made a rude remark before we took the final saying that the highest grade was a 36. Everyone failed dont take her
Worst class Ive ever taken
I was dreading this class, then Professor Conrad made it fun and interesting. She uses real-life examples to explain challenging concepts, and they worked for me. This is the best professor I've ever had, but you have to do LearnSmart and go to class. I am taking her again next semester and highly recommend her.
Instructor locks door, exams study guides don't match tests, and test material is based on memory not understanding. Overall, you need to know everything however, there is a ton of info to retain. She's paranoid for cheaters. TONS of homework, she opens it weekly so you cant even do a bulk amount ahead of time, which makes it harder if you work.
Don't listen to anyone who gave this professor bad ratings. She is the best accounting professor at UTSA. Just show up to class and you'll get an A. She actually teaches the material instead of just reading off the slides like most professors. The exam review is very identical to the test. Highly recommend!
10/10. amazing lectures. Her bad ratings are students who took her class and cheated on the exams and got the grade they deserved so dont listen to them. Dont join the groupme and go to class and you should be fine. Easy A. Funny, great teacher, but does give quite a bit of homework.
Dont get me wrong professor Conrad is very nice but she is so paranoid about previous students cheating that it severely effects how well she teaches. You are not allowed to have a group me with the class which sucks when you need to get basic questions answered quickly. If she was less paranoid she would be a way better professor
Professor Conrad is superb! She makes the material so easy to understand and relates everything to real life. The course is challenging, but fun. Her lectures are in-depth, funny, and well planned. She gives plenty of prep material for the exams. She offers extra credit and is always available outside of class.
This was supposed to be an INTERNET course. Instead she made it a hybrid, all exams are on ground. Nothing like the material. She doesnt allow extra credit, or any way to help you get your grade up!
Supposed to be an internet course. That is what I signed up for. Instead she changed it to blended so all tests are on campus on Fridays (or you can go to her tuesday class at 8:30am to take the test). She changed the tests from Short Answer + Essay + Multiple choice, to only short answer + Essay midway through the semester. Would not recommend.
Wasn't this supposed to be an internet course? Terrible Teacher , changed the Tests Midway through and removed Multiple Choice. Would not Recommend.
Paranoid about cheaters, made the course not internet based, changed test midway through. 0 review. pointless posted lectures.
The nicest professor. The people that complain about her is bc they are lazy & dont want to put in any effort. You could get 70s on the exams she offers extra credit through attendance. Gave an extra project where you just make up a product & talk about its costs. The boot camp quizzes are the actual test questions but with different numbers.
Removing MC from the test made it SO much easier, some people are just mad they can't cheat their way through this class like others have. The class is really simple, but she offers more extra credit to her in-person class vs her online class. If ur someone who cant keep up w hw, take someone else I guess. It's not that hard, this is COLLEGE lol.
She is a really sweet lady and I understood her lectures, but there was quite a bit of homework that I feel didn't really match up with what she was teaching. The tests were easy though.
Prof. Conrad is an okay prof shes nice enough the only good thing I have to say about her is she stayed with the schedule the whole semester. She gave WAY too much homework and the tests are pretty hard. No study guides or any tips as to what shes gonna put on the exam. Take her if you love doing excessive amounts of homework
Professor Conrad is by far one of the best professors I've taken. Her exams are very reasonable. She never includes anything on the exam that she didn't cover. Only people who don't do their work complain about her class. Only thing is there is a lot of homework assignments, but they definitely pay off to understand the material better.
TAKE HER! She's a great teacher! Makes accounting easy to understand and gives extra credit. Puts things into perspective and ties funny stories to it. Tests are straight forward if you study lecture notes and go to exam reviews. Hw is do-able but dont save it for the last minute. Only con is that she doesnt allow groupme.
Best professor ever, she made a class that was completely boring fun. Conrad is the GOAT just make sure you do all you're learnsmart stuff, HWs, Quizzes, and study for the TEST with the exam review and lecture notes that you take and you should be fine.
For her online class, she did upload videos of her class lectures, however, it is very difficult to tell which video goes with what chapter. They are all jumbled up and you spend more time trying to find the correct chapter video than you would just reading the notes. I suggest taking her in person, she is not the best online professor I have had.
She is literally the best professor at utsa in my opinion. I took her for ACC 2013 as well. If you take ACC 2013 I highly recommend going to class her lectures are really helpful. ACC 2033 was the same concept but was hybrid. Its not a class where you can get a easy A but have to work for it. Keep up with homework and understand it and will be fine
Taking her for an online class is not the best representation of her teaching ability. Not much help given.
1. Hmwk is time-consuming 2. Hmwk doesn't exactly prepare you for the exam 3. Proctorio required on exam, and you have to have your webcam on. 4. The review for each exam is nothing like the exam. My advice, don't rely on the long homework and bootcamp reviews for exams. You really need to know the chapters inside and out to answer exam questions.
Do not take her for any online class!!! I read the reviews on her before taking her online class this summer and thought it would be a good experience; it was not. She doesnt allow GroupMe at all so you cant talk to any of your classmates for help. Homework is time consuming and doesnt help with the test, and neither do reviews. Take anyone else
This was officially the hardest class I've ever taken. BY FAR. The exams are very heavily weighted and extremely difficult. The question structure on exams are far more complex than anything provided during lectures or homework. It looks like half the class failed according to the leaderboard she puts up. She is a GPA killer for sure. Stay away.
This was by far the hardest class Ive ever taken during my college career. Prof was basically non existent the whole time, tests were ridiculously hard, and review did not help. Not to mention, the final was 75% ESSAY QUESTIONS. She ended up taking the leaderboard off bb because over 60% of the class was failing. Do not take,,
Expect to study your ass off for her exams because the homework and bootcamp quizzes will NOT prepare you. I bombed the first exam, however, she did replace our lowest exam with our final if it was beneficial. Exams are essay and calculations only (no MC), and require Proctorio. She also prohibits GroupMe. You'll learn a lot, but it won't be easy.
DONT TAKE HER ONLINE CLASSES. I don't know how great she is in person, but for online classes? Definite no. I dropped the class during the summer due to the fact that this was one of the hardest classes i've taken in a minute. Her exams? Proctored, mic, and webcam. Nothing like the bootcamp quizzes, so there is absolutely no review. Straight trash.
She is a nice person and means well, but she uses Proctorio. It is really just spyware to download on your computer, such an invasion of privacy. Caused lots of unneeded anxiety and stress.
Prohibits GroupMe. Homework is VERY time consuming, taking me 4-6 hours straight to complete one assignment. Only gives a 20 minute window to access the tests, and if you miss it then you miss it. Tests are proctored and require a scan of your room. (Invasive much?) Do NOT take a class with this professor especially during this pandemic.
modules are labeled incorrectly which makes things confusing to navigate on blackboard lectures and hw dont represent scenarios of questions on test I asked specifically what questions I got wrong on a test and she wouldnt even give me the information to that office hours have long wait times for 1 day of the week so if you have a job Goodluck
This is by the far the worst class Ive ever taken in my whole education career, I mean all the way back from elementary to now. The amount of homework is ridiculous and takes so long to finish. The exams are proctored and she doesnt allow groupMe. I took on so much stress just for this one class. Avoid taking her if possible.
Tons of homework that takes 4-6 hours per module. If you miss the 20 min test deadline to enter, you cant take it. Not to mention the tests and quizzes use proctorio which is a TOTAL invasion of privacy. Makes you scan your PERSONAL TEXAS ID, and makes you do a 360 scan of the room. That's unacceptable and quite scary.
Run as far as you can from this professor. Simply put she just doesnt care and she wont help you if you reach out to her. Work load is so much that it is sometimes impossible to complete every single thing, if you email her to ask her for help if you are struggling shell basically tell you better luck next time. There is so much more I could add
Avoid her at all cost. You are warn.
Each week there is a smartbook with around 60+ concepts and HW with 20-30+ problems. The workload is pretty heavy, Chegg is your friend. The test are only like 15-20 questions but they're basically the same as the practice quizzes. Sometimes the test have MC problems but normally they're free response, she uses procotrio w/ webcam and mic.
Proctorio. Some quiz questions on the exams, mostly fill-in and an essay question. Homework did not help with the exams, but took me an average 10 hours each to complete. Beware those who like to work ahead, incorrect assignments uploaded and did not catch them until after I spent 14 hours on the assignment and had to redo it. Avoid or good luck.
Lots of homework that takes hours to complete, heck even days. Uses proctorio and makes you do a roomcheck DURING the test and that takes away time on the test. The videos she uploaded for her lecture are obviously old. She said welcome back from Spring break in one, and we didn't come back from spring break this year sooo. No extra credit at all
This class was definitely hard. I couldn't hear her lectures that were recorded from summer when I was taking it in fall 2020. I tried multiple laptops that I had and different speaker and headphone setups and I could barely hear her lectures. She never responded to my emails about her lectures either.
Uses invasive proctoring software to scan your entire room, your face, your photo ID, and requires you to disconnect all peripherals. Rude, poor communications, and does not even attempt to help or act like she cares. Her ridiculous software demands clash with slow networks, so unless you live at Google HQ, stay far, far away from this class. 0/10.
By far worst prof Ive had, does not care about her students. Proctoring is absurd and invasive, assignments are repetitive and expect to spend 8-10 hours a week on hw. Wouldnt give me an extra day to complete a quiz when her crazy proctoring tech was malfunctioning. Had to take final to get B since she refused to round a 567.96/710 to a 568/710
Very sweet professor, wants to help the students. This was the first semester the class was offered so it was kinda an experiment. We had an assignment due on connect every weekday for the entire semester (not fun but you could work ahead). Some of those assignments were proctored and took a lot of time. Sometimes took a while to put in grades.
I heard so many good things about Prof. Conrad, but she was practically non-existent this semester. Relied completely on the textbook for lectures, homework, quizzes and tests. Absolutely no original lectures, nothing.
Never in my entire life will I take this professor again. Save yourself, she will not unlock assignments and then count them as a 0 and when you bring it up to her she doesn't respond. She also wouldn't unlock lecture videos and when more than half the class failed she posted the videos which are no help :)
This professor is just horrible. Doesn't give feedback and generally ignores emails sent to her. Her lectures are horrible and don't really help with the homework. I had to look up accounting tutorials just to understand concepts.
Signed up to be in person but it became an online-only class week one. Absurdly difficult for an entry level accounting class. Virtually zero work put into preparing lectures. The proctoring software is one of the worst things ever made. The online classwork doesn't help prepare you for the tests at all, yet also requires 1+ hours per assignment.
I took Conrad for Accounting 1 as this class was meant to be in person, but she switched it last minute to be online only. After that, she did not respond to emails or give any help in figuring out what to do. Its all on McGraw Hill and there was nothing else to help us. Never heard from her once. If I could rate her 0 I would
Professor Conrad clearly outlines the course and everything you have to do. Just be prepared to spend a lot of time doing homework and reading the textbook.
This professor gives amazing lectures and overall course outlines. The course schedule is consistent. Professor answers questions well and her explanations are very understandable and relatable. She is a very thorough professor and easy to follow. Would absolutely take her again, quite the cut and clear professor with her material.
Work load for this class was CRAZY. 45 hw questions/week which took 20-30+ hours just for hw assignments, and that didn't include lecture time or reading/note taking. Compared to other acct profs, she gives way too much work. Dropped her class after a few weeks.
The recent reviews are accurate in terms of the professor being lazy and paranoid about cheaters, a horrible combination for what is the hardest course I have ever taken when it didn't need to be. You're better off getting credit in a community college because this course will overcomplicate and waste at least 12+ hours per week.
Took this course online. SO many students claim she's great in person, but this was by far the worst class I've ever taken in my entire life. I'd spend 8+ HOURS on homework that doesn't help at all with tests or quizzes. Doesn't answer emails. This class is the one that got me to drop my major. DO NOT TAKE HER.
Professor Conrad is a great teacher, her in person class was always filled with personal stories that could relate to what was being taught. She cares about students and doesn't want anyone to fail, going to class is important in order to practice for tests. I really enjoyed going to this class and even though it was tough, she was a good professor
I had to drop this class after a couple weeks. She wouldn't let me into class since I was 2 minutes late. Even though I have accommodations that allow it. She repeatedly ignored a blind student trying to ask questions. If you have any needs outside of the "norm" don't take her. She's never understanding or accommodating.
lots of homework, and quizzes. constantly studying. tests are nothing like the assignments. they're similar to the quizzes but she does not allow to review the quizzes to study which is just lame imo. also, only 3 tries to check your work on assignments? students have the right to know what they missed. does not help that everything is proctored.
I had Professor Conrad for Principles of Accounting 1 & 2, and feel that she did a great job. She is very personable and explains concepts in a way that is easy to understand, and was always helpful whenever I had questions. Homework prepares for the test - lots of practice problems. I enjoyed taking her classes.
Online asynchronous over 5 week summer term. Optional attendance for her class meeting times and she seemed pretty available although I didn't need to reach out myself. Each of the 10 chapters has a smartbook, 2 HWs, a lab, and a MCQ proctored quiz. A few weird formatting issues with the assignments but overall I found it to be an easy A.
Her teaching style is extremely time intrusive. There is quite a lot due every single day including weekends. Tests are graded heavy and you are not allowed to use notes. No curve & no reviews. All tests & quizzes are proctored & timed. No extra credit or points for attendance given. Her class will mess up your GPA. Many fail.Find another professor.
I took this class as a 5-week course (bad idea).Studied and did homework for long periods of time. but it was manageable. She will work with you if you communicate with her. You have to buy the textbook in order to access your homework. Homework is slightly different form test but the reviews give you a glimpse of what to expect on the test.
Genuinely the worst professor at the University. ZERO effort to communicate with students and puts ZERO effort into lectures.
10/10 would not take again. During the semester I had a medical condition where I had to be out, I had a doctors excuse and was given no empathy. You miss more than two assignment or make below a 70 and you're kicked out. Unless you are passionately enthusiastic about accounting I strongly advise you avoid this professor at all costs.
If you don't show up, you probably won't pass as it can be very easy to fall behind. Prof Conrad is an excellent teacher, but you need to be present. She walks you through the material step-by-step and makes it fun as well.
I don't understand how we are expected to succeed in a course designed to set you back very far should you fall behind at any point. If you cannot fully grasp subjects within a few hours, do not bother with this professor. The test questions and homework are night and day, and the weekly quizzes are full of tricks. Overall just a bad experience.
It feels like her intent is to stress out students and seems to forget that we have other classes to manage than just hers as her class alone takes 12+ hours a week. She reserves the right to drop you from the course if you fail 3 assignments when she assigns more than that per week that take multiple hours each to complete. GPA KILLER, DO NOT TAKE
Great professor. Accounting is just if you get it you do, if you don't you don't. She is very nice and well respected in the ACC department. SI meetings are helpful. Open to questions during class. Attendance isn't mandatory, however she does give random extra credit to those who show up. Especially on days with bad weather or close to holidays.
Yes the class is tough but it's accounting. it is not going to be easy. In took her for accounting one and two and she is amazing and cares a lot about those students that try. I suggest going to office hours and SI sessions(SI is were she usually gives extra credit) Her exams are straight out of quizzes. She is one of the best professors in UTSA.
Accounting is a hard subject but professor Conrad breaks it down and makes it easy to absorb. She grades very fairly and has good communication. Attendance isn't mandatory but I would recommend going. Her class is never boring. She genuinely cares about her students learning useful information rather than placing all of the weight on tests, etc.
Honestly, she is the perfect example of a professor that is capable of explaining what she teaches. She's excellent at expounding upon how to solve problems and makes comprehension of this subject much easier.
Professor wasn't hard gives extra credit out for classes. Mcgraw Hill required and smartbooks. Would take professor again.
Took her for the 5 week term. 12 chapters, each with a smart book, 2 homeworks, a lab, and a quiz. There are also 4 discussion and 3 projects. Usually 2 to 3 items due each day. Aside from some wierd submission formats, all the assignments are super straight forward. Labs have step by step videos. All online, in class used as a space for help.
no room to fail or even get a bad grade. super condescending and aggressive
Avoid this class at all costs, trust me.
Lecture wise she is fine, and can crack a joke that gets me to smile. But be weary of Proctorio. If you don't have proper methods to protect yourself then get ready for Proctorio to be wiping your google every week. Also she will drop you regardless of circumstance if you miss 3 assignments for any reason, negotiating with her is not an option.
Do not take this class. Go with another professor at UTSA. Every quiz and exam are proctored. Which means not only do you have to absorb a good amount of information each week you have to quiz on it without notes. I have taken this exact course in a different state, but UTSA didn't accept it for credit. The other one was far superior.
This Professor truly cares and takes the time to explain things in a way that everyone (who puts the work in) can understand! Life is hard... it's REALLY hard when you can't "own" your poor life choices! Don't take this course if you can't commit 12 hours per week... says so right in the syllabus! Do the work and you'll be just fine.
Accounting it is hard but she is the best one to take at utsa, she is chill and sometimes has a vibe. I vibe with her no cap.
She is not a bad professor but the course is hard. you may do better taking a different professor because her exams & quizzes are proctored in McGraw hill. she is very good at teaching but not the most forgiving to absence & late work. she will do surprise graded attendance for extra credit so make sure you show up. this class will take A LOT TIME.
Conrad is amazing, she doesn't directly teach you every single thing in the chapter but helps on the major parts that matter. Proctored Exam/Quiz, lectures help so DON'T skip, lots of examples given out for help, may take a day to finish the weeks HW. Accounting is hard but she worth it! The class is a lot of memorizing labels for cause & effect.
2hw and 1 proctored 1quiz per week. 4projects and 4 proctored exams. Iykyk. She is the last option you would want to take.
Lectures were pretty good at covering the main topics for the week. However, you might have to read the textbook a little on your own to make sure you cover everything for the quiz / test. All quizzes and tests are proctored, and no notes (besides a formula sheet) are allowed. I would probably take her again for other accounting courses.
Professor Conrad seemed a bad professor in the past, but she knows how to work with her students. I can't stop recommending her to my peers who have to take accounting one! GO TO CLASS! She gives extra credit for showing up, it can make a difference in your grade! Yes, you have to work hard in this class but just work hard and go to class.
Amazing professor who knows what she is talking about and knows how to convey her expertise in a way for her students to grasp. Failing her class is of no fault but you. She gives you the resources to pass.
she is not computer avi. Class over Zoom, LECTURE feels unrelated to the homework. She is the worst. the test are like 4-5 questions but hw is 10 questions. HW will take you all day. Be prepared for virtual tutors to help w/ HW, and better @ teaching than the ACTUAL PROFESSOR.
Stacy is the worst teacher at UTSA. She will drown you with homework that does not match quizzes or exams. She will drop you from the course if you fail more than 3 assignments. I had an A+ in the class at the time I dropped, which I decided to because my time will not be wasted if I just so happen to make a mistake. Her class is a waste of time.
Very sweet and always ready to answer any questions you may have. She makes accounting very digestible and easy to understand.
Professor Conrad is awesome!
The work load was very heavy with a quiz or 2 weekly but she genuinely was a really good teacher if you put in the time and attended lectures
I loved having prof. Conrad! Her quant analysis course was very straightforward, 2 hw's, 1 lab, 1 smartbook, a quiz and sometimes a discussion assignment due weekly. At times it did feel like overkill, but generally speaking, the material was very straightforward. You have projects due here and there, and prof C. is a great help for them, 10/10!
This class is hard but I would take it if you can handle a lot of homework
This professor is very rude and does not teach at all. She just gives you assignments to do every week without explaining how to do the work. She never holds herself accountable especially when it comes to replied to emails days late.
I really liked Professor. Conrad as a person, but this class was horrible. It's set up in an easy A format where there are no exams, but there is a very large number of busy work assignments. There were 67 assignments in the 5-week course class, and many of them felt like unnecessary busy work. Fewer, more quality assignments would be better.
The class is extremely easy and the workload is very light (even in 10T summer term there was less than a chapter of material a week). If you want to get a good grade then take the smartbook readings seriously. Don't just skim them, read them carefully and thoroughly before her lectures.
Having your enrollment for the course in jeopardy because you scored too low on a homework assignment (just ONE by the way) in basically an introductory course to accounting is something I do not like. DO NOT take this course if you are not a quick learner, enjoy ridiculous 'instructor-initiated drops' policies, and an abysmal attendance policy.
This class is absolute misery that I couldn't even wait till the end of the semester to review it. I've never seen a math based class taught through JUST a textbook... evil. I've been spending at least 8 hours a week on this class because I have to teach myself everything through external resources. She couldn't even bother with some example videos
Don't get me wrong, Professor Conrad is very nice and I do enjoy her class, however we are a month into the new semester, and class has been cancelled 5 times. I tend to struggle in online classes, so it's disappointing to see this class essentially turn into one. I want to excel at the material but can only do so much with little guidance.
This class sucks! At the time of this rating she has been to class once in the past three weeks one of them being before an exam. She wants you to teach yourself and intentionally makes the class difficult on the students. I understand having to do work but she makes it far beyond reasonable. Especially for material that I have to learn on my own.
This class is an absolute joke. The “professor” takes two weeks off and has hardly even shown up for any classes. Her lectures are off topic and usually redundant info from an earlier unit. Proctorio is obnoxious to use and mandatory and if you fail 3 assignments you get dropped. If the whole class is self taught I might as well be the “professor.”
Although the drop-policy may seem intimidating, professor Conrad is a great professor. She explains the material effectively and posts lecture videos which are helpful.
personable and relates topics to real life things, she goes over similar hw questions every, if you don't show up can be harder she's canceled on numerous occasions. On test weeks feel like a benefit would be still having class on "make up" day, price to pay if miss reward if don't, instead of losing another day we could be in class asking on help
she is strict on grades, but the class is relatively easy.
For the online class, she does not grant any extensions whatsoever, she will make you follow the late work policy even with an excuse. Overall, as long as you read the material and do the practice problems, you should make a good grade in her class. Getting a timely response from her is hit or miss.
Not a bad professor, definitely overhated at times. Though there would be a ton of surprise in class assignments near the end of the semester without warning so ensure that you are there or know what's occurring. Other than that do work. Would be a 5/5 if it wasn't for that and without warning.
She was an absolutely awful professor. I had to teach myself more than she taught me. Smirks after putting in the in class graded assignments and people show up to class. Graded a zoom lecture a week before thanksgiving. At one time said class was cancelled then 5 minutes later said JK we had class. Infuriating, should have just been online.
I am at a loss of words. This teacher randomly graded attendance and made sure to pick days when she knew students wouldn't attend. She did not seem to want to see students excel in her class as she would cancel office hours CONSTANTLY. Any late work for any reason was given a penalty (even in emergencies). I DO NOT recommend this professor.
AWFUL LECTURES- each of her classes is at least 2 weeks behind the assigned homework. She cancels all classes right before any exams and provides no help. 99% of the actual teaching is left to her TA and the textbook. The assignments do not reflect real accounting. She also started her semester stating that she doesn't believe in her students.
Professor Conrad's ACC2013 class is challenging but worth it. She's a great teacher - just be prepared to put in the work. I found unstuckstudy and the free textbook super helpful for studying and staying on top of the heavy workload.
DO NOT TAKE HER! Her lectures are useless because she goes over content that was assigned and due a week BEFORE the actual lectures. Yet she gives RANDOM attendance checks that are worth almost 2 letter grades (~15%), so you have to be there, even if it's a waste of time. She will DROP YOU OUT of the class if you miss (or fail) 3 assignments btw...
A hard course to keep up with, her lectures weren't helpful. 2 homework assignments and a proctored quiz every week. Cancels both classes the week of exams and this semester at least, cancelled class often and spontaneously. SB assignments were long and confusing, as they're fill in the blanks Overall, would look for another accounting professor.
Definitely overhated, she is not a bad teacher. However, she cancels class randomly, attendance is random, lots of weekly work, and 4 course proctored exams. Weekly quizzes are also proctored. She is ok overall but be ready to put in work.
Won't give any extensions even if you joined the class late. Goes over material a week after you have already taken the quizzes and assignments because that's her “way of teaching.” God forbid you make a group me cause apparently she can also drop you from the class using that excuse. Don't miss a SINGLE assignment or surprise! you get dropped.
Lectures are unrelated to homework (admitted her lectures are behind the homework) , 4 test that take up 58% of your grade, no makeups, seems to have her own style of lecturing that does not at all relate to actual graded assignments or seem thorough in the slightest, the class is difficult due to having to teach yourself
If you are trying to ACTUALLY learn managerial acc, please take a different class. Her lectures are full of tangents and, no joke, 15 minute stories about her family/life that relate to things you should already know from acc 1. She does not give formulas, but allows a formula sheet for exams. Most things on the hw you will have to teach yourself.
Great professor, in my opinion top Accounting professor at UTSA.
She goes over what we already taught ourselves a week after and will go on a tangent about her twins more than the actual material. She must enjoy knowing that so many students will either drop her class or fail because she mentions it on the very first day of class. Take ANY other professor if you want to want to keep your sanity... seriously!!
Professor Conrad is awful, you can be on chapter 10 in the connect assignments, yet in her lectures, she'll still be talking about chapter 8 material. Despite her lectures being absolutely useless, you still have to go because of her random attendance assignments. Exams take up 58% of your grade, LOOK FOR SOMEONE ELSE
To be honest, I liked her class. She would give participations points, and she gave extra credit if you went to an Accounting event. Her lectures were good and she was always in class. There is a lot of work to do, but if you don't understand something you can ask her after class or send out an email.
I had Professor Conrad for Principles 1 and currently for Priniciples 2. Material is hard at times, but she goes over examples in class and has videos uploaded to watch. Extra credit was given on random days to those attended class. Bottom line, if you put in the effort, you will do fine. She is a great professor!
I have taken her for ACC 2013 and ACC 2033. ACC 2013 is honestly harder in my opinion and I was worried when I initially signed up for her class. She tries to make you nervous the first couple of weeks in ACC 2013 because she knows the material is important. If you show her that you care, she will help you along the way if you struggle!
She's a great teacher who provides all the tools we need to pass her class with an A. Her test are easy if you study the homework/quizzes. My best advice would be to go to class as much as possible because her lectures discuss cover most of the homework content.
She made the class easy but was still difficult. If you receive a 50 or lower on 3 or more assignments, she will drop you from her course unless she sees you are trying. I took her online course but her exams were still in-person.
This course is honestly miserable, but that's more a reflection of the duration than Conrad. It was around 60 assignments and 5 in person discussions over 5 weeks. If you want to quickly get a masters elective out of the way, this course is good as long as you're ready for the workload. The discussions were very informative and I learned a lot.
Terrible teacher I took her for accounting one and two her course work is over the top hard and confusing and she's so difficult to work with she makes a 5 min explanation last 30 min because she doesn't want to deal with you so she half explains and you have to keep asking questing
Easy-ish class all around, professor just throws work at you and doesnt exactly help, but thats what the text books are for. If your taking her as a summer class just be prepared to do a lot of homework. Make sure to do it days before its actual due day, it could take a while. Overall, 8.5/10

Wonderful professor. Genuinely cares for her students and is always willing to explain on a topic further if needed. Practice problems done in class really help with exams. I enjoyed that she would compare our learning topics to IRL situations because it was easier to understand. If you put in the effort, you'll do great.
Prof. Conrad is very caring and always has time for a talk. During lectures, she ventures into discussions of her personal life, but it does not detract from the learning. Lots of homework and quizzes through McGraw-Hill Connect are needed for the course, but she gives plenty of extra credit opportunities. I learned a lot.
Professor Conrad was super informative on the material. Her lectures were super interesting, and I genuinely learned a lot from her. Lots of homework through McGraw-Hill, 1 smartbook assignment with an average of 38 concepts, 2 homework assignments due, and a quiz on lockdown browser due every Sunday.
Lotta work at times, usually at least 2 homeworks that take about 2 hours and a honorlock proctored quiz a week. Lectures were neat, definitely a lot more personal which some might not like. 4 exams that add up to 50% of your grade. Be sure to know the full picture of what affects what and how to use it in problems. Lot of extra credit though.
There was usually a SmartBook assignment, 2 homework assignments, and quiz due every 2 weeks. The assignments are time consuming, and the quizzes are proctored, so it's important to study and not procrastinate. She provides videos that help explain some of the topics. She can take a while to respond to emails, but overall it was not a bad class.
Since this is an online course, you don't get much interaction with the professor outside of emails. The course itself is fairly manageable, but there is a lot of homework, and it can be very time-consuming. Quizzes are proctored, so make sure you have a device that can run the proctoring program. Overall, it's a great course! I really liked it!
