She's really cool and does her best to keep everyone in the class happy and interested. She's also very easy to negotiate with. There's a group project and paper due at the end that is pretty easy. we didnt need the textbook at all and still learned all we needed to.
Stacy really cares about her students and wants to see them do well. She will help you find research and ideas for your final project. Relatively young so she can relate to her students well. I wasnt interested in markekting before her class, I had to take it for my major. But After her class I will be picking up a marketing minor.
Stacy is absolutely one of the best professors I have had at Loyola! She knew our names and majors the second day of class...she is bright, enthusiastic, motivating, interested, prepared, energetic, passionate...I could go on and on. I actually enjoyed going to class every day. Her enthusiasm is contagious...she inspired my marketing minor! TAKE HE
A professor who cares about her students - wow, this is definitely a new concept that Loyola is going for! Stacy is crystal clear and so helpful. She is always available to talk after class and is so passionate about the subject. Take her!
The best prof I have had at Loyola yet! Extremely flexible with due dates etc. Very light workload. A big paper/presentation at the end of the semester, but she assigns it at the beginning so you have a lot of time to work on it. The only class I actually enjoyed going to every day this semester! TAKE HER!!!!!
Stacy is the best professor I have ever had!! She is so bright and bubbly! She is always in a good mood and puts you in a good mood whenever you see her! I made my major markteing because of this class She is soo helpful and cares about the students. She is the one teacher I think everyone should take!
Stacy is really good if you are looking at becoming a Marketing major. She makes you work at it, but she makes her lectures really cool and interesting. I would say if you are looking at making marketing a profession, take her for sure. She makes everyone truly understand what marketing is.
Stacy is AMAZING! By far the best class I have ever taken at Loyola. Textbook is not necessary. grade is mainly based off of midterm, final & a group project that consists of a paper & presentation, but it was actually a lot of fun!
Stacy is an awesome teacher! Her lectures are a lot of fun. You don't need the book if you come to class and take notes. Grade is: midterm, group paper/presentation, and final. She speaks pretty quickly so keep that in mind, but she definitely knows her stuff. Fun class!
Be careful with Stacy. She is a very nice person, but if you make one mistake, she will change and it will cost you. Read the syllabus VERY carefully, because she doesnt accept human error.
Stacy is awesome! The 1st 1/2 of the semester I didn't get as much from the lectures due to a having taken a bad 201 class but really enjoyed the use of the Macrotrends book 2nd half. Grade based off 4 individual writting assignments, 2 group presentations, group paper, final paper and class room participation. Definately worth taking!
Stacy is awesome. I got more out of this class than most of my other classes at Loyola. Too bad I didn't take her for 201! Beware: you can live or die by the group project so make sure you know how your group works. Surveys for real companies was much more interesting and valid in business than the simulations we get in other classes.
Take Stacy or regret it for the rest of your college career. She is the most helpful professor out there & a truly wonderful person. Seriously. TAKE HER.
Stacy is a wonderful teacher. This class was worth getting up early for. Participate in class and go to her office hours. Pay attention in lecture, take good notes, and review them before the test and you will do fine. The group project is huge so make sure you work hard on it.
although she tries very hard to be fun and connect with students, she does a very poor job of providing any type of structure for her class. she expects students to follow strict guidelines on assignments but holds herself to a completely different standard
Stacy is very cool - she will know every student she has ever had by their first name, even if they don't talk in class. Only problem is she is very unclear on assignments. Grading is completely unpredictable and way open ended. I know she means well but requirements could be more specific. Class is fun and interesting, but just might hurt your GPA
Stacy is very friendly and upbeat. However, as other students have posted below she is extremely unclear when it comes to assignments often times not explaining what is needed until the class before it's due. Her grading comes across as very subjective due to her ineffective way of communicating assignment criteria.
Such a friendly, energetic lady. But, offended when having to hear things like "you're too worried about your grade" or "you'll do fine" or "you're doing awesome" as you put forth tons of effort into a class you are interested in only to receive a grade that does not reflect your effort at all and doesn't coincide with what she says to your face.
Stay is a very nice and enthiuasiatic lady. MARK 201 consists of massive amount of work outside of class. She is very vague about assignments and expects a lot from her students. C is a great grade in her grading book. This class will definitely hurt your GPA.
Knows a ton about marketing. Knows very little about being clear when giving directions on graded assignments. Very little.
awful teacher. very vague about assignments and what she expects from her students. This class will hurt your gpa. Expect to put in way to much effort and only receive a C
worst teacher ever. say goodbye to a good gpa
You have to take this class if you are a marketing major. Go to class everyday and make sure you are always on the same page as Stacy-she throws a lot of stuff at you quickly. She makes the class harder than it should be.
Thought she was cool and went to office hours several times to try to meet her guidelines. That seemed to be a complete waste of time. Her grading scale/methods for deducting points do not coincide with reality. I am a dean's list student, and got a B in her class. Awesome.
Stacy is peppy and nice but doesn't do a few crucial things very well. Her lack of structure and poor rubrics will leave you guessing on what is the right way to do the paper even after you have met with her many times. Chances are you will work hard, go to class, and leave not understanding why you got a B or a C.
I LOVE STACY! She is such a wonderful person, all around. Unlike the other comments, I thought she was very helpful and accessible in regards to responding to emails and getting into contact. Her bubbly and enthusiastic personality increased my interest in the topic. Yes, she may grade a little tough, but she is always able & willing to help.
Best teacher I had at Loyola. She is trendy and knows so much about the field and has interesting class lectures. Hard/real world style grader but always available to assist students. You have to take Stacy at least once to get your money's worth at Loyola If you are not afraid of a challenge and want to learn as much as possible.take her!
I kept my Marketing major because of Stacy Neier! She is absolutely amazing! Her enthusiasm for Marketing really engages me as a student. You will work hard in her class, but you will learn so much. Class participation is very important. If you ever have questions, just go to her office hours! TAKE HER for any marketing class!!!!!!
Best professor at Loyola. If I had more time, I would take on another major to take more of her classes! Some people talked about her assignments being vague, but all you have to do is talk to her and she will do all she can to help you out.
Taken her 2semesters she is a great teacher but no matter how hard you try you will get a B or C in the class. She is really nice though.
My favorite Loyola professor. She is very intelligent and kind and helpful, but her exams can be difficult. This semester it was online, so slightly easier. One major presentation from each group. A few blog posts. It was not very difficult, but she can be a hard grader. She loves when you come to office hours and is so helpful!
Either she'll love you or she'll hate you. No matter how much time and effort you put into your project the best that you'll do is a B. My team and I put together a survey for ZipCar and although our survey was selected to be used by ZipCar Stacy gave us a 'D'. She's not clear and will say that you're doing a great job then you'll wind up with a D.
I adore Stacy! She's so adorable and kind and helpful, you can be shocked at how hard a grader she is. Don't be lazy and study, put in lots of effort, and participate in class. Go see her in office hours. She's very helpful! Her courses aren't too difficult. The difference between C & B is not much, but between B & A is huge.
Stacy is really sweet, very stylish and incredibly intelligent. She's great at lecturing. The class has a group project that could make or break your entire grade. The group midterm is 20% of your grade and the trends project is another 20%. It makes for a really stressful mid-late semester. The class made me drop my minor in Marketing.
Worst teacher I've ever had. She has no interest in helping you to get an A. She also plays heavy favorites, especially if you are not a sociable person. She also has a very abrasive personality.
Stacy is absolutely one of the best professors I've ever had at Loyola. Having her twice has made me gain a great admiration towards marketing - I've even decided to pursue it as a career.I truly don't understand what these negative reviews are all about. She is super-sweet and I am truly blessed to have taken her twice. She truly has inspired me.
Stacy is SO sweet and very helpful! She is not the easiest professor, but I would suggest taking her if you're thinking about a marketing major/minor. Taking a class with her will make this decision easy for you; she treats her classes like the "real world" and has a lot of experience and connections in the field. I would definitely take her again.
Stacy is the best!! This class felt less like a "class" and more like 50 minutes of amazing discussion and watching videos. I genuinely learned so much. Attendance is somewhat mandatory for participation but you'll want to go every single day. The group project is very interesting and if you look over the powerpoints the tests aren't bad. TAKE HER!
A MUST TAKE IF YOU ARE MARKETING MAJOR. Amazing teacher. Makes every class interesting and has amazing ideas and creativity. You get real client experience and create marketing strategies. Word of advice: To get a good grade it helps to visit her in office hours. She really takes the time to give you feedback and it improves your grade
Stacy is awesome. She's so helpful and very easy to talk to. Go to class, pay attention and you will do fine. Stacy is very enthusiastic about Marketing and you can tell she loves what she does. Definitely an MUST TAKE if you a marketing major!!
Professor Neier was great. The research class was not very interesting to me, and it was not on top of my priority list. However, she kept it interesting and engaging. The class does involve a lot of work, but she is very fair in her grading.
Have to be there every class otherwise you won't get a good grade. She's really tough when grading. I was a little confuse on what she wanted us to do each class but it was not a rough class. Make the groups work on their project during class, which is good because afterwards you don't have to do further meetings
Professor Neier is great. She is passionate about the material and overall an enthusiastic professor. She is a bit particular but she's clear as to what she expects, so clarity isn't an issue. The group project is great because its interesting but group work will always be group work so its ugh. All in all, I would take her class again.
Prof. Neier is super knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She's also very helpful, and clear about what she wants. If you show up and do your part when it comes to the group project (which is super easy) anyone can pass this class.
Being a marketing major, I absolutely adored this class. She is so helpful and makes a subject like fundamentals interesting. She brings in a lot of real-world examples, which is great and an asset to understanding. There is a large group project, but be original and apply what you learned and you'll do great! I can't wait to take her again.
Stacy is a great lecturer but has no respect for anything outside of her class. This is not the only that students need to focus on. She is very unyielding and her policies are to the extreme. You will learn about Marketing Research but you will work for it. Also, be ok with not getting an A, it's rare that she'll hand them out.
Neier is amazing. She comes to class everyday with a smile and is very down to Earth. She gives as much respect as you give her and I found it very hard not to give her respect. Her lectures bring in real world examples and are very easy to follow. On projects sometimes what she wants can be unclear but she is more than willing to explain.
I can't emphasize enough how much I enjoyed taking Stacy's class for the Marketing requirement at Loyola. Stacy is just one of the most helpful professors I've had at Loyola. The class was a writing intensive course, but we didn't have as many assessments. Her grading schedule is pretty clear, and it helps a lot if you go to her office hours.
Stacy cares more about her students than anyone I've ever met, and she has a wealth of experience from which to help you learn. It's not an easy class, but it's worth it. If marketing is what you want to do, this class is a must, and Stacy is really awesome.
Stacy made my Loyola experience as great as it could be. She's always looking for outside opportunities for her students. When it comes to grading she can be tough but it's because she knows we can do it and she'll always help. Her only downside (?) is that her office hours are always full because she's so great
How could anyone give Stacy a bad rating? One of the best professors I have ever had. If you're a marketing professor you have to take her, but you'll be glad. She loves her students and genuinely wants everyone to do well. Super friendly and the happiest person in the world! Plus, the class itself is not difficult.
She's amazing, I took her class in the summer and she is the reason why I am now majoring in marketing. She is very energetic and makes you want to come to class. I learned a lot from her and she is very understanding.
Best teacher ive ever had, helped me in and out of class. If you have any questions about anything that has to do with marketing, you can go to her. There is always a line in front of her door for office hours just because people love talking to her. TAKE THIS CLASS, if you are passionate about marketing you will not regret it.
IF YOU CAN TAKE HER!!!! Make sure you have a good group for your project or it will be a rough one !
Stacy is a wonderful professor and always willing to help. If you are stuck, go to her office hours. I had her for 201 and am enrolled in 311 Marketing Research now and I'm so excited for the semester. She really is there to help and tries to make it fun along the way. 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND
Amazing professor. Class-work is relevant to what's in the field, as we work with actual clients. Crystal clear with grading, will bend over backwards to help you get the A, and has constant enthusiasm. Always passes along opportunities, too! No complaints, take her.
Class was always lively and engaging, no HW, and quizzes were once a week online
I had Stacy's summer class and it went by so fast. Never used the book but needed the connect code to complete 4 online assessments (that were open note) and the final was a group project that you've been working on from the beginning of class so you're super prepared. Participation and discussion do count! She's so sweet I hope you take her!
Know going in that marketing research is engaged learning, and that there are a lot of moving pieces to this class! Stacy is an incredible woman. I cannot overstate how genuinely kind and caring she is. She routinely goes above and beyond to ensure student success. Her class is excellent, and I would recommend it to anyone considering research.
Dr. Stacy Neier Beran is by far my favorite Marketing professor. She is very connected and knows her Market Research! Weekly connect assignments, two huge semester-long projects, class engagement is highly encouraged. Be sure the first/second day of class you sit with hard working people because that will be your group. She is strict but so NICE!!
Stacy's awesome. This class was super informative, interesting, and engaging. With that said, don't take if you want an easy class to slack in. Her class definitely requires a lot of work, but it's not too difficult and is really worth it if you're a marketing major/minor!
I dont get the value of volunteering. we really don't get anything out of it besides a grade and LOTS of lost time. stacy is condescending both in and outside of the classroom. shes great at acting nice, but asking for help in any way makes her annoyed. she makes it hard to reach her- even via email. if ur looking for a mentor, look elsewhere.
Stacy is one of the best professors at Loyola. She is always excited coming to class and the time flies by so quickly. This class requires a lot of work and the final project is not easy. No exams in clas no quizes. Just group porject . MUST RESPECT DEADLINES AND REQUIREMENTS OF EVERYTHING YOU SUBMIT.
Stacy is a great teacher. You have no tests, weekly online readings for easy points, and a semester long project. As long as you put forth the effort, you should do fairly well on all the deliverables. Our team received an A on everything. Skipping class is NOT an option. You get 3 points a day just for attending. I would take again!
Stacy is really good at making everything sound really nice, but this class requires so much work and time. Volunteering is considered "observational data" and is a complete waste of time. Do not expect to really learn anything in this class based on the engaged learning aspect, but you do learn a lot about online data programs.
Apathetic to student problems. Lots of busy work that is time consuming. Unclear organizational/grading structure
Acted nice but was not receptive during office hours/lectures. Marketing Research is an important class but workload did not inspire or seem conclusive towards end goal
If you go to class and do what you are told, this class is not bad at all. Get your volunteering done early, and it takes a ton of stress away from the rest of the class. A majority of the grade is coming to class. If you follow instructions and requirements, the class is an easy A as long as you put in a little work. Stacy is a great person.
Insane amounts of course work in this class. Spent more time doing assignments for this class than all of my other ones combined last semester (not kidding). Then, after spending weeks on end working on these group assignments, she tears them apart. This class was a really large headache and was often a complete waste of my time.
Stacy Neier is one of the worst teachers I've ever had for a class that I thought would be genuinely fun and engaging. Everything done for a grade is harshly judged considering students are complying with her grade system for the first time. She is very passive aggressive towards students who do not understand her confusing system. DO NOT TAKE
This teacher has me seriously concerned that I picked the wrong major. The difficulty along with the overall boring topic discussions completely uninspires me to pursue a major that I was previously very excited for. It is difficult to catch up on assignments and I don't understand what half of our assignments have to do with creative marketing
Her class is very non-traditional since it is an engaged learning class. No tests but the projects that you have to do really matter since you are helping to create a marketing plan for an actual business. She can be a little over the top but really really cares. I wouldn't take her if you're just trying to get rid of the engaged learning credit.
Just don't take her. This class is the definition of tedious work.
Talks way too much, too energetic. Would not take again. Tests are extremely difficult.
Stacy is amazing! She's very energetic, so having her first thing in the morning is kid of risky. But the energy she brings into class is fantastic. She really cares about her students and she's very kind if she likes you. The class itself is a lot of work and she's very picky about grading, so go to her hours to make sure you the right things.
Stacy Neier is one of my favorite professors Ive had at Loyola. She's very caring, energetic, and really just wants to make her students career-ready and build their resumes. The class is pretty easy, most of the grading just comes from completing the projects in class, and her energy and positive attitude make all the skills she teaches manageable
Stacy was one of the few professors who has actually taught me real life skills and actually prepared me for my career. Her class itself is very fun and easy to navigate, but the level of difficulty half depends on your clients for the semester. The entire course is essential one giant group project so make sure you work with people you like.
Stacy is one of the best professors at LUC. TRULY cares about students, so energetic and kind. Gives detailed feedback to explain grade. Very encouraging. Sometimes didn't know how things would connect but understood it in the end. Quizzes every few chapters, come straight out of the textbook. Semester long group project. No final/midterm.
The BEST professor in Loyolas marketing department! She always has the day 1 energy throughout. Make sure you have a good group though because that is a majority of the grade. No exams or quizzes. Just group work for the client, reflections and Saleforce. Dont procrastinate, communicate and have that day 1 energy and Stacy will get you there!
Busy work
Such an amazing Professor. She truly cares about all the students and wants to make it fun for everyone. Would totally recommend her for everyone!
Stacy is honestly such a sweet individual. I've heard people say she picks favorites, but honestly I seem to find that the people that don't like her are the people that just don't try too hard in her course. I think Stacy is not only a great professor, but a great person outside of class as well. 10/10 would recommend
Dr. Neier is a life-changing teacher. She cares deeply about all of her students and wants the best for them. She wants you to learn and clients are such a unique way to gain career experience. You have to go to class! So much easier to get an A if you attend class, it's 5 points every day you go! I would take any class she offers!!
LOVE STACY!! She is a ray of sunshine - always so happy to see her students and loves to teach MARK311E. I really enjoyed this class since it was focused on group work but it was very engaging to work with Stacy. Never wanted to miss a class and really enjoyed taking her this semester. Highly highly recommend her!
Stacy is an amazing professor. She is knowledgeable in marketing research and she genuinely loves to teach it. She is so sweet and always there to help her students.
My review as well as others was removed by her specifically so that should tell you enough. She made two profiles to hide her bad reviews on the other. She claims to be nice but is passive agressive instead. She expects you to figure it out on your own. She is apathetic to student issues and her only importance is her class. Worst teacher I've had.
she is the sweetest lady ever. idk how ppl don't like her, all she does is try to be kind and positive to us. every friday we have "playdates" + ur allowed to excuse class one day a month. no final, just a group project. the exams are open note + online so if ur not doing well on them thats on u. easiest A ever. take her, u wont regret it!
DO NOT TAKE! If you don't mind your grade depending on others and the entirety of a final group project, then take it.. Stacy makes you believe like she is there to help but in reality gets upset when your group asks too many questions. She leaves no margin for error. If you are a senior needing to take this class I STRONGLY recommend anyone else.
MY FAVORITE PROFESSOR! When I was reading ratings I wasn't sure whether to take her or not but I'm so glad I did. In-class assignments are engaging and fun, just make sure you sit by students you enjoy as they become your group for the semester. Her attendance airplane days come in clutch. Take the course! I could not recommend her more!
amazing professor! so sweet and understanding. no HW to do beside some reading, exams are easy to do and sometimes online. Only the study guides take long to complete but it is to help you. Final is easy, and group project is good if you have good group members. Not a bad prof at all, class is easy!
Stacy is very nice and kind. But her work is very confusing and extremely puzzled. She gave our group good feedback, but still gave us bad grade... Very annoying.
Stacy comes off as very nice but in reality she is hard understand. No empathy for students, grade depends on entirely on group project and their peer evaluations on you. So make sure you get a good group because Stacy is also not help when you ask questions. So you have to figure out everyone as a group. Very hot and cold with her.
This class isn't formatted like any other business core class, it's based on groups and participation within groups. Super easy and fun class. The tests are online and are not weighted heavy, the study guides are weighted more than the test itself.
Taking her for MARK 201 will brighten up your semester because she always have something fun in hand. Engaged learning style compared to other Marketing professors at Loyola, definitely take her!
Absolutely loved Prof. Beran. Super friendly and knew every student on a name basis. If you pay attention and put in your fair share of work for the semester-long group project, you will be fine.
Super fun energy! Very engaged learning style, lots of discussion. Cares about all her students and makes an effort to get to know them.
The sweetest woman ever. I adore Dr. Beran. Took her Jterm marketing and it was actually so fun, she makes it very digestible. I'd 100% take her all semester too, she makes class fun. One exam, 20 quizzes, 1 solo project, and participation. No better marketing 201 option!
Stacy is a caring professor, but her class can be quite puzzling. The group project is crucial, so finding the right team is key. unstuckstudy and regular attendance can help navigate this course successfully.
the engaged learning course was actually very straight forward. It was easy to do well on each three secctions. along the way, she was very motivational. she wants you to succeed, and gives you the outline and tools to do so. all in class group work, not homework or exams or anything
There is a reason she has two accounts on here, look at the other one with her full name for accurate reviews too. Simply put if you are a senior needing to take this class avoid at all costs. It will be the only class in your 4 years that you regret taking. She has no empathy towards student issues. Believes her class is more important than others.
Most passive aggressive teacher ever. Doesn't let her students go to the bathroom. She made someone cry in my class. Her class structure is a mess. If u ask her for clarification she gets mad. Just the worst experience for a class I was looking forward to. U won't learn much either. She picks favorites too.
idk how she had so many good reviews before, or what happened, but unsure of what happened, she probably completely changed. everyone I talked to in my class had complains about her. she made someone cry in my class, she picks on certain students. and she is a tough grader. her Sakai is a disaster. attendance is mandatory.
passive agressive, loud, micromanager, strict, biased.
Literally could not tell you one thing I learned in this class. The assignments are overall easy but she is so crazy. She micromanages everything and over complicates every little thing and shes not understanding. She does everything ambigously and its almost like she wants you to fail or miss some tiny little detail. Take someone else.
