I learned a lot and he enjoys teaching. Uses sarcasm, which I love.

I really liked him a lot. He's a really good prof, and you learn a lot in his classes. He's also really sarcastic and funny.

Humor was somewhat cheesy, but he more than knew his stuff. Willing to work with you..good get.
He was very easy to listen to and made the class interesting, even for those of us who don't like History!
good lectures
very hard class. He gives a study guide. His class is pure lecture.
Pretty hard class, but very interesting. It is amazing how well this guy knows his stuff. Nice guy, kind of nerdy though.
I can't say that I was thrilled to be taking this class, but Dr Adamiak was mildly entertaining. It became a fun game to count exactly how many times he used the word ass in a single class.
Class is pure lecutre, but he makes it interesting. You can tell he enjoys teaching. It is very possible to make a good grade in the class, but you have to work hard for it. His tests are all essay.
This guy loves his job. Keeps you interested and the tests are basically the study guide. Go to the SI groups to get help on the essays that are on the test and you'll be fine.
Dry sense of humor that adds some entertainment to the class, which was lecture only. Suggestion: Take GOOD notes. Like word for word, cause his tests are all essay. They're difficult, but if you are in class and take good notes, then you have all the info you need. Dasy to talk to and helpful.
Dr. Adamiak is an swesome professor! I recommend him to anyone interested in an exciting experience in history!
not good
This bearded man is awesome. His cynical attitude is what makes the LA building worth going to. The only people that won't like his class are the close minded, fresh outta high schoolers that need someone to hold their hand.

the Al Borland of UCO, he will regale you with tales of the Blue Man and also show his clear passion for history. Loves what he teaches and it shows.

Brilliant and very intelligent professor. Really knows his stuff. He has very excellent lectures. doesn't read word for word from a textbook. He's a very loud speaker and is kinda awkward at first, but he's one of the best at UCO. Lots of reading. This class is one of the most intelligent classes I've taken at UCO - not for the typical dumb UCO kid
Imagine Bill Gates with a beard and no money. Thats Dr.Adamiak, hes very passionate of history and makes you want to learn. His tests are little hard. just follow the study guide and the READ BOOK, and ATTEND CLASS, sometimes he pulls a fast one from the lectures and puts in the tests. SO BEWARE! Do these things and you cant go wrong.
hard tests but great stories in class, great teacher
great teaching skills, hard tests.
He was a blast. Some advice for those who are to take him. Go to office hours for the essay it is essential. Take notes attend class every day and read the book it isn't easy, but he makes it worth your while.
I hated this class. He seemed like an ok guy, but he was very opinionated. History blows to begin with and this guy didnt make it any more fun just hard.
Very fun class. ;) As with any advanced History Course you will need to keep up with the reading and be prepared to write on all assignments. One 12-15 page research paper was also required.
Dr. Adamiak is awesome - but be prepared to work!! It you don't like to work for your grade, then don't take him. But if you love interesting lectures and the occasional useless trivia, you'll love him.
(Summer Intersession Class) He has a very dry humor, very entertaining. His class was very interesting and I learned a lot. The papers from the readings weren't too bad, but the essays on the tests were graded very tough. Overall great professor.
awesome guy. Loves what he is teaching.
Love Dr. Adamiak!! He is the greatest professor I have ever had. He is very helpful when you have questions and has a great personality and sense of humor. He makes Military History my favorite class!!!
Great Professor!! Loves teaching!!
This teacher is tough but will help his students out in as much ways as possible. He lectures as if he is trying to tell a story to his students. Very entertaining class. Take lots of notes!!
He is absolutely adorable!!! I think he is one of the greatest professors I have ever had. Very knowledgeable, but you do have to study for about a week before the test. Pretty simple class.
Great Class, I really enjoyed listening to his lectures.
Professor Adamiak is a funny, and captivating lecturer. Even if you hate war, he will keep you very interested with his vast knowledge of battle details. If you would like a stimulating class, choose Dr. A,just be prepared to study and write a lot. It is college after all......
Very nice and will help you in any way he can. Not to sure about the lecture and all the note taking but he is absolutly certain about what he is lecturing on.. great teacher!
Really sexy, I really love the plaid. He has a great personality and his love for history shows in his teaching. I also love the way he gets excited when he talks about war. He has a very dry sense of humor, but is extremely funny.
Dr. Adamiak definitely knows his stuff. He is a very entertaining lecturer; however, I think he is too tough on the way he grades his essays. You have to work and study A LOT for this class.
Great teacher. Knows his stuff. Gives a great history of political/ military history. He helps you know that they're one in same. Take his military history classes to enrich your understanding and life!
His class was extremely hard to pay attention in. He gets off on his own subjects, he is very passionate about History, so it makes him very opinionated. Dont ever expect to make an A on the tests. 1/2 the tests are an essay question. He grades harshly on everything. you have 4 papers to write and 2 pointless map tests. Wouldnt recommend the cla
Great professor. Knows his stuff. I learned not only military history but the political history surrounding wars. Not an easy class, but not a hard one. ID terms and essay tests, map quizzes, and a research paper, but definitely worth learning!
He really knows what he is talking about & can keep your attention during lectures. Write down everything he says, it's on the test! He is lenient with attendance just make sure you get the notes from someone if you miss class. His tests are hard & he grades hard on essays but I managed an A.
Funny and really interested in what he teaches. Pretty casual. I had him for both military history classes and I loved them. Peppers lectures with interesting parts of history. Tests are a bit rough, 5 id's and 2 essays, but there is an easy to use study guide. Really a nice guy.
He's a really nice teacher. I learned a lot more in his class than any others I've taken. He knows what he's talking about. Take notes! If not, make sure you study the reviews. Half the test is an essay, so make sure you study those questions. You have to write four papers but they aren't that hard at all. Overall, funny and great teacher.
Great teacher, knows his subject inside and out doesn't even need notes to lecture. Very approachable, kinda quirky. Love Dr. Adamiak
Great Prof. No attendance, long but specific study guides, extremely knowledgeable. I promise you will have no trouble paying attention in his class. Never singles anyone out for anything.
He is so adorable; one can get lost in his Bill Gates glasses. Dreamy; hot, hot, hot
Stan is the man. His lectures are very easy to listen to. If you didn't learn anything from high school history, take this class. Just sit and soak in the information. Take notes of coarse! And read your book! Make sure you always print out the study guide and prepare for the essay question on the test - it's worth half your test grade.
I am a history major and this course was required for me to take. He is great to listen to and half of your grade is essay based on his exams. He teaches mostly upper division courses so it seems somoetimes like "he doesnt want to be here" becaus the majority of the poeple who take this class are freshman or its a core required course.
Dr. Adamiak was a great professor, however you must be a good student to do well. By that I mean you need to study and take good notes. Not try to fluff it off like you did in Highschool which is what I tried and why I'm retaking this class 2 years after I failed it. He is a great professor, I was just not willing to put forth the time or effort
The only history teacher I have ever been able to listen to and not instantly become bored. Great guy, very helpful, and understanding! Anyone is insane for taking another history class. Good luck!
Dr. Adamiak is an AWESOME professor! I took his course for one month, which drove me insane, but his lectures are clear and precise. I'm not a history fanatic, but he definitely makes the class interesting. All anyone needs to do is put forth effort to pass his class.
Bad teacher. He doesn't write anything on the board, or give you any notes whatsoever. He doesn't tell you what is going to be on the test and gives insanely hard tests. You have to read the whole chapter and just guess what he thought was important. Definitely do not take this teacher.
He is a really spectacular professor. His teaching is involving and I really like his style! If you have the choice, pick him!
DR. A was a great Professor! He gives a lot of details in his lectures but that only made studying easier! He loves what he teaches and that transcended to the class. People who disliked History previously actually enjoyed his lectures!
He doesn't require that you take your book with you to class at all. Every single day in his class is PURE lecture. His lectures don't really help much because he bounces around the chapters and you never know what notes to jot down. I spent 98% of the time reading the book during class because his lectures were useless.
His lectures were abysmal. Study guides were pointless, and readings were fairly pointless as well, even doing all the readings and taking notes religiously, I still barely scraped C's on most of my tests. If you have a gift for reading minds, go for it. If not, take a different class!
Amazing Teacher!
This was my least favorite teacher I have ever had. His tests are not over what he lectures on and his study guides are absolute crap. Seriously do yourself a favor and never ever take this class.
Very good teacher. Knowledgeable, uses notes as guidelines but does not read from them. Uses lots of political cartoons, pictures, etc. to emphasize his points. He can be sarcastic and snarky about the subject, but admits it when he is. Makes history very interesting. Would recommend him to anyone.
Great professor, he is very knowledgeable. You can ask him questions during class and he will quickly respond. Attendance is not really mandatory, but he does give out random easy quizzes to sort of keep tabs. Overall I would definitely take him again if I could.
Adamiak is a great teacher! Very sarcastic! I wouldn't say it was an easy A, but it wasn't that bad. There were 3 short papers, easy online quizzes, and 3 tests. The tests were 25 questions and an essay, but he gives you the questions so you're able to practice ahead of time. The study guides were kinda useless. I relied on my notes and the book.
GREAT lectures, he really knows what he's talking about. 3 tests, all pretty tough so you have to go to class, take notes, and study. Had to work really hard for an A, but it's possible. Study guide just vocab. words and essay questions. Use your NOTES for easy questions, he will like that you wrote in the way he thinks
Attendance is not required but I strongly suggest not making a habit of missing. Most test questions are mentioned and answered in the lecture. I thought he would be rather boring but I was surprised. He really knows what he is talking about and is very thorough. Rarely used the book, but you need the online code for quizzes.
He just lectures during class, and has 3 tests and a final. 3 papers and online homework. you need 2 textbooks but only uses one to refer to. Doesnt warn about anything coming up. Go to class if you want to pass
Great history professor that explains things really well. His lectures are long, but bearable. 3 short papers, 1 longer paper, 2 tests, 1 final, and online homework. The final isn't over the whole class. Very easy class to handle. Would highly recommend! You do need 2 textbooks for the course which kinda sucked.
Long lectures, but he keeps it interesting! He doesn't baby you so come to class even though it isn't required and look at the syllabus! Not many grades and the tests are short, but difficult! 3 tests, 3 papers, and super easy online homework(that counts for a test grade)
Knows his military stuff! Dr. Adamiak's class consists of 3 tests and one research paper. All of the test questions come from his lectures so even though attendance isn't mandatory still go. Plus he adds stuff that is always funny for history majors!
Only three tests and a research paper per semester! His lectures are very interesting, and if you like history, you won't even need to take notes because he covers the material so well. He's pretty cynical, so I though he was funny. And he's very helpful as long as you don't ask stupid questions! I definitely recommend taking him!
I took him for Hist after the Civil War. In his class, he doesn't take attendance, but I recommend being there. He lectures everyday other than the days we had test. We also had 3 short papers that require you to have the book. The tests are 25 questions and an essay that is worth half the grade. Offers some extra credit! He's sarcastic, but funny!
Great professor. He really loves history and has an answer for every question. He lectures the whole time and his stories kept me entertained. I would definitely take him again.
He's a really nice and knowledgeable professor but he is dreadfully boring. I have skipped the class more times than I've been because its so hard to pay attention. He has a good sense of humor but his powerpoints are all pictures and he lectures the whole time so its hard to take good notes. Also, he doesn't go along with the book.
DON'T TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. you have to do 3 assay from a second book that you have to rent of purchase. the exam has 25 multi option question and an assay. if you don't do well in the multi option and get C and you do great in the assay you will still get a C. attendance is not mandatory but if you don't attend you will get a C even if you do great
2 textbooks required, 3 essays, 3 exams in total (includes essays), & small easy online quizzes. Lectures heavily but didn't like how he lectured out of chronological order. Missed a few days & fell asleep most of the time.. On the other hand, he's sarcastic & has dark humor. I wouldn't recommend his class though if you're not into history like me.
I'm a visual learner, and this professor only talks and maybe shows a picture. I record the lectures to review and haven't passed a test yet. He also makes you write some difficult essays over one of the textbooks. The only chance I have to pass is the online quizzes make up a test grade. Basically, it's a hard class if you need visual notes.
He only lectures; can be hard for some students. If you have a question make sure to ask; he will give you a great reply or tell you it is not on the exam. Do the reviews it helps a lot. Make sure to show up since his exams are more on his lectures than the textbook. Show up on review day, he will usually cut 2 essay topics (6 total) for exam,
This was one of my favorite classes this semester. Hes funny and his lectures are always good, be sure to take notes though. There's four papers total and all are super easy, other than that just study for the exams. His syllabus says a textbook is mandatory but we never used it at all. You will need the Taking sides book though.
He is a great teacher. However, attendance is greatly beneficial - though not required. IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO SHOW UP EXCEPT ON TEST DAY, be sure that you understand all of the stuff from the study guides. YOU NEED TO KNOW MORE THAN JUST A LITTLE DEFINITION - understand the WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, and why of all the concepts.
He's awesome sauce.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROFESSOR. he claims he is busy and doesn't utilize the D2L and you get late notices and grades. he asks for essays in the exam and grades it based on how you did on the multiple options. if I am you. I would stay away from him.
I absolutely love this professor. He is hilarious. He explains things in a way that I can understand. He does lecture all period, every period, but I liked that I take awesome notes. He made me look forward to every single class. Utilize office hours. PAY ATTENTION! Or you won't pass. Difficult, yes, very much so. But you're an adult now.
Not an easy A. Avoid him.
He talks too fast. He grades his short papers like a Harvard class English professor, which is funny because hes a history teacher. He has stuff on his review that he talks about after the test is over.
Didnt necessarily follow the textbook, and also was confusing when it came to grading essays
Adamiak is really a good professor. All of the low rates are from 1000 level class Freshman who didn't know they'd have to work and pay attention. He lectures a lot, but they're all good lectures, and quite fascinating. I would definitely take his class again.
screamed at students and used condescending tone and words to students on study tour throughout London in 2022.
