Really good teacher who knows the subject. I had him for College Algebra w/ Business Apps and it was a bit difficult. He gives a test after every 4 days of class and I would recommend that you study. The tests aren't extremely difficult but they still pack a challenge. No homework but DO NOT MISS CLASS or you'll most likely be lost. I'd give him B+

I had this as a CDI class. I thought that taking Trig that was was gonna be really hard, not with this man. If you have a question, all you have to do is ask. He is even on sometimes at 2am to email you back. Tests are your adv math tests. I wish he was teaching Pre-Cal.

I had him for Math 1316 -- or Trig -- online. He responded to emails promptly and was willing to help in anyway he could. He was VERY thorough about test information and posted this to a board in plenty of time to study for test. Do homework and practice tests to study then you will do fine!

Mr. Alkhaz is a good teacher, he will take the time to explain every problem right down to the last detail. Be sure to come to class and do your homework.

Mr. Stan was awesome. I would strongly recommend you try to get him as a teacher. He was beyond helpful and made sure that you understood the material and if you did not then all you have to do is ask. He does have a slight accent. He does speak softly so sit upfront. Not nec to buy the book,you can just buy the online version (1332). Very nice.

He is eager to help you with any questions if you do the homework. He give examples of almost every diff type of math question. Nice guy. Don't have to show up but it helps if your serious about math

Mr. Alkhaz did a fantastic job teaching Calc by clearly explaining the material. He is more than willing to help students outside of class. My hard work, as well as the professor's clarity greatly contributed to my success in this class. He hands out assignments which also help students prepare for tests. Has accent and goes fast for people who arent good at math but is extremely helpful and will always go over test with you in class and in his office. Do the HW it replaces your lowest test grade

Came to class the first day and the last day. Only grades were tests (in the testing center) and online homework. If you're familiar with math, you don't even have to go! I had a few ?'s throughout the semester, and was very good with getting back with me even though he never saw me before. Perfect for the occasional skipper.

great teacher. he is very nice and funny. class is extremely easy. all grades are tests and you have optional homework that if you do, it takes the place of your lowest test grade. he is also very flexible with your schedule. i would highly recomend him!

I can sum up Mr Alkhaz in one word -- "amazing". This is one amazing teacher. I took his distance learning class during the spring. I was amazed with how much he helped via discussion board and email. He responds back quickly and with detail on problems. There are plenty of practice tests to take before exams. Took Prof. Alkhaz online fall semester, got an A+. Has light homework load and 4 tests including the final all of which are of little difficulty if you complete the homework and follow his advice. Awesome math teacher. He does have an accent but it's nothing major. He makes sure to tell you what he expects from you. He emails you before each test to let u know what u need. He also shows you how to use your calculator instead of doing it by hand. Gave review for final counts homework as test grade an drops your lowest test grade

BEST math teacher ever. If you're not very good at math, he's the one to take. I'm about to take him for a third class. He's very good at breaking things down to make them simpler to understand. Professor Alkhaz was terrific. He spends a lot of time working through problems and formulas on the board, taking time to explain each step in the process. He also explains in real world terms so it's easy to grasp concepts. Responsive on email and tests were taken right from homework so no surprises. Would take again.

If you attend class and do the homework you will do well in this class. I never bought the book only used the e-book a few times! He is GREAT at teaching only what you need to know! Tells you the important things and covers them very well. I am not a big math fan but his class wasn't bad at all!

By far the best math teacher I have had. I had a very bad math teacher experience In high school and have been terrified of math ever since. Mr Alkhaz has clearly defined things in a way I can understand-all the light bulbs came on! I got an A and will him for all my future math classes. Take his class and you will be pleased!

Professor Alkhaz is an excellent teacher. He can bring to life Algebra and really get you interested in it. He is very compassionate and will talk to you about your goals and help you. Wonderful Algebra teacher! He explains things in ways that make the material easy to understand which is essential for a Math class. He is always willing to work with you too. If you're a little late he will still count you as present. Math has finally clicked for me because of Mr. Alkhaz. I am definitely taking my other Math courses with him!

Took online for Trig. Only required to buy MyMathLab (online textbook!). Fair amount of homework (~6 lessons) due the Sunday before each exam. 4 multiple-choice exams on computers on campus and scantron final. Had great response time to my questions and was mostly clear. Posted important announcements on time and is organized. Would take again! :)

Excellent Teacher!! After really not looking forward to this class I have a new attitude towards calculus. Mr. Alkhaz is very thorough and dedicated to making sure the students understand his material. I enjoyed his class and wish that other teachers were as helpful as he was!!

I am math challenged. Took me a year to force myself to take this class. Prof. Alkhaz is fantastic!! It's easy to get an a on homework in my math lab because you can do the questions over till you get them right. I pulled a B, something I never thought possible. He even drops the lowest test score!

I HATE math and struggled thru College Algebra. I was terrified to take BizCalc. So much that I almost changed majors to avoid taking it. Im glad I didnt because Mr Alkhaz was able to take abstract concepts like calculus and break them down so that even math challenged guys like me were able to understand. All tests are straight from the homework.

He usually gives formula before the upcoming chapter, be sure to know how to apply and use all the formula before taking the test. I got A by doing that.

Prof Alkhaz was a wonderful professor. I took him for Contemporary Mathmatics Maymester and only got the grade I did because I didn't study. He answered all of my questions and was super helpful and quick to respond to any emails. Used MyMathLab for homework so textbook purchase wasn't needed.

Take his Class! Knows the material and teaches it very well. Do the HW(which he does in class with you) and write down examples and you will have no problem getting an A. I took both College Algebra & Precal with Prof Alkhaz. I liked his teaching style because he gave plenty of examples on the board related to the homework. That together with help in tutoring lab enabled me to grasp material. Im not a math whizz so i chose to take Trig before precal as recommended by my advisor which helped me a great deal.

I took the BLENDED format which met only once a week class and made it much easier with my work schedule but you must be willing to do the other half at home on your own. His lectures are thorough and works a lot of problems step by step which is what I needed. This precal course is mostly advanced trig so some prior background in trig is a must.

Some expect test review spoon fed to them like when they were in middle school. He is already at the board saying this gonna to be on the test, know it. that's gonna on the test, study it. If you not in class, you missed all those pointers ! If you cut class during breaks, don't blame anyone but yourself ! If you gotta miss go to tutoring /makeup

This math course is much than algebra. He teaches in computer class room so you can do homework along as he lectures; makes time go by faster. Allows calculators on tests. Would take him again but i'm done with my math.

I took Prof Alkaz's Blended Preca. it was pefect for me because it's mostly trig review and I already had a trig course. If you never took trig, I recommend taking the regular Precal because in the Blended version you have to do some of the work on your own before class. Tests are part multiple choice & part where you show work for partial credit.

His lectures are really good and he helps prepare you for the exam with his reviews. Amazing teacher!

If you want make it easier on yourself in Precal, be sure to take the trig course first. Don't skip class because the lectures fill in a lot of detail that you can't get from the book or mymathlab.

Here is a tip: Graphing calculators are not allowed in Col Alg, so get yourself a decent scientific calculator because the ones you check out from testing center are cheap and difficult to work with. Mymathlab videos are not that great, so take advantage of his in-class lectures as he works a lot of examples in class.

My class with Mr. Alkaz was blended. It fit well with my schedule since it met only Tuesdays. just have to make sure you do your part at home before each class and not procrastinate on the homework which is what the tests are based on.

This is my second time taking the class so the online class was just right since I didnt want to sit through all the lectures over again. Anyway, math is my hardest subject but I managed to pass and thats all I care. Prof Alkhazs class was more organized than the previous instructor in that his tests followed the homework.

Online college algebra had a ton of deadlines. His regular announcements and email reminders kept us on track. Testing set up with proctoru was a hassle but worth the convenience of being able to test from home.

Struggled with a class since math is not my strong subject but I am happy I passed and done with it. He gives real life applications.

Gives four exams and a final. Homework counts toward grade so be sure to do it which also prepares you for the exams. Scientific calculator is a must but wait till you hear his recommendations on which kind to get.

My advice is not to procrastinate starting on the line class because it kicks into high gear from very first day. Lecture videos in mymathlab are helpful. He does good reviews.

Let you sit anywhere you want. Tardy can turn into an absence if he didn't see you, so check in with him after class. Lectures are thorough.

Very easy going and helpful. Always asks if anyone has questions over prior days problems before starting a new section. For my test anxiety, his advice was to work on my math daily if possible to maximum practice. That really helped me in his course.

If you miss class, be sure to contact him and hell work with you so long as you are keeping up with your hw. He always emails to remind the class of tests and gives good tips on how to review.

One of the best math teachers. He is respected and cares about his students' grades. His lecture is heavy because it is pre-calc, but I understood from him. His tests start easy and then get harder. His test reviews are helpful and if you did them you will make an A. My Math Lab is used in the course.

Theres a lot of homework that is on the Pearson website, which you do have to pay besides the tuition. 4 Tests and a Final for the month. Tests are proctored through ProctorU, but the tests are quite simple since they are mostly multiple choice. Sometimes fill in the blank which are less than 3 questions. Take him if you want to pass.

I have been taking math for many semesters and have finally passed with this professor. He takes the extra time if you are struggling.

Great professor, would love to have him again. He is totally fair and realistic about work load and length of exams. He prepares exam review sheets in a manner that is easy for us to get. He will give you partial credit on missed exam questions if you show your work and forgot simple stuff. He will explain math in a way you will understand.

I took this College Algebra class as an 8 week exelerated course. The instructor was clear in what was needed. All assignments can be done till you get a 100 on it as long as it is done by the due date. It was auto graded so you knew your grade right away. The instructor did review tests and gave partial credit on some problems. Good communicator!

I just finished taking this as an 8 week online class. I am taking 4 other classes as well, and managed to do decent in this class. It was accelerated as expected, and the test reviews and homework were enough to prepare me for the tests. But you need to actually do all of the homework and test reviews to succeed

Very good Stats professor. Helps you with all of the online homework and the test reviews are a life saver. He also lets you use a 5 by 8 notecard for the tests. I missed one of my tests and he let me go in a day late to take it! Hes very understanding and cares about his students. HIGHLY recommend

Professor Alkhaz is just like any math professor, vulnerable to bad reviews by those who did not do the work. Many of the negative reviews are due to the students lack of discipline to take a college course. He speaks in simple terms and gives shortcuts to make math easier. Focuses on foundations of math in order to give a clear understanding.

He goes all the way out to send reminders EVERY TIME an assignment/ test will be due. Many professors only remind you once, while he does it a week early the day of and hours before it is due. His videos are very helpful, pay attention to the video examples and the homework review and you should do fine!

Took this class for spring. I didn't do as well as I wanted for the 1st half of the semester, but I did not study. However, for the 2nd half I studied his reviews, watch his videos, and did all of his homework(same as the tests just different numbers), I managed to pass with an A. So if you don't study you won't pass. Pretty easy class if you try.

As long as you watch all the lecture videos the class is fairly easy. If you don't and just take the quizzes and test you will most likely not pass. I only took online and the layout is very easy to follow and is not confusing to figure out what to do. Sends weekly reminders to get assignments turned in. Do the work and it will be an easy. pass.

If you read through the lectures and take notes, then it will be a easy A. You just have to keep up with the due dates but the work isnt hard at all and easy to keep up with.

Fall class changed to online due to COVID. He's very organized, "lecture notes" videos are enough to understand the whole lesson and you have 2 HW/week. Keep up with them and its an easy A on tests. He provides calendar of due dates and sends three reminders before each HW and test. He is very quick to respond to emails & helps solve any problems.

This class was an easy A if you do your work. There are 2 or 3 lessons each week followed by 10-20 questions. Each question had unlimited tries, so it was easy to get a 100 on each homework assignment. There are 4 exams as well as a final. I highly recommend taking this course.

All there is to this class is short math assignments and 5 exams. Majority of mymathlab assignments are less than 20 problems (that allow unlimited attempts). Exams are all under 40 problems that were like the ones you saw in homework. His notes are straight to the point and short. Couldn't recommend a better math professor than Professor Alkhaz!

Very very easy!

Professor Alkhaz online class was very clear and smooth. His syllabus was greatly detailed with all due dates. There was homework sections due 2-3 times a week. His lectures were recorded via youtube and were very easy to understand especially with having a visual and auditory aid.

Best math teacher IMO. He cuts class early so you can ask questions or go over HW. Clear syllabus and test review sheets. Testing and HW is all online but he goes over the HW in class, and has powerpoints for notes, etc. Super nice and respectable prof, made math bearable. Would take again.

Excellent class! As someone who always hates math and was weak in math I got A. I got the fast track course and if you are choosing that, prepare for homework being heavy and often. However I learned a lot in this class, do your HW watch the provided videos and before doing test do the test reviews. He was always quick to respond to emails.

I feel comfortable asking questions in his class, and he provides clear explanations.

I took this class for nursing school and could not be happier with the teacher. If you're taking notes and paying attention in class, you will do great.

Do yourself a favor and take him. This was my fourth semester taking this class with a different professor and I finally passed. He genuinely cares if his students are learning and encourages the to do their best. I would take again.

Absolutely loved the class. (It is a very easy math I was taking) The homework was simple and easy. The study guides he had for the tests are wonderful. He is a bit quiet and he can be boring but he was always very helpful when I had a question about anything. He responds to emails quickly. Great teacher!

He is a great professor. Most of the stuff you will learn will be through MyMath Lab, which is very helpful because it gives you feedback as well as infinite changes to get the questions right. Just pay attention to his lectures and study before each test and youll pass

he's a great teacher, the class its self was very dull but maybe that's b/c it was an 8am. The expectations are very straight forward and he's great at responding to emails. I think the only reason there are low ratings for him is b/c math isn't for everyone so they blame the teacher. don't listen to them. you'll do find, just show up to class.

Professor Alkhaz's class is super easy! The homework is simple, and the test review sheets are super helpful. Plus, unstuckstudy ai was a lifesaver for study prep. Overall, this class is a breeze - just pay attention and you'll get an A!

Easy class! He goes over the material in every class by using the homework we are assigned to in MyLab. He provides review sheets that clearly outline what will be on the test, so you know exactly what to study and more than enough time to complete the homework. I recommend to study to the videos he uploads in Canvas, they are so helpful.

Took Alkhaz for college algebra and his class was pretty easy plenty of notes and videos provided to help you. There was a decent bit of homework but he gives you plenty of time and attempts to do them through Pearson. He lectures and will answer questions but you can also just use his class as a study space since you can go your own pace 10/10

My favorite professor this year! His lectures were so clear and simple, and he taught you exactly what you needed to know for the test. His Canvas page is super organized and he is EXCELLENT about following the syllabus. He is soft spoken, so be sure to sit toward the front of the class. Try not to skip class unless you really have to!

Professor Alkhaz is extremely organized & encouraging to his students. His lectures work majority of the homework problems which can feel fast paced at times. Luckily, he has multiple useful videos for each unit with voiceovers solving the exact problems step by step. Math is NOT my strong suit, but stay focused, review plenty & it will pay off!
