Best math teacher at Tech...nobody falls asleep and he always keeps you interested. He learns everyones name in that class by the end of the second week..very friendly and very helpfull.

He was very interesting and gave great examples to help you study for tests.

He is interesting in class because of the many comments he makes. But he tends to get off track easily and some things that he explains are not to clear. The class itself is easy, but he made a few things more complicated than he needed to.

Easy. Just do the homework and the tests will be simple. Likes to make comments, jokes, and tell stories in class...gets old sometimes. But overall, easy and very nice.

Wonderful teacher. Really cares if students learn the material. Always willing to help.

He was great. He went over all of the homework questions during the next class period. If you do you homework you will do well on the tests. He loves to tell stories, and he jokes around alot. And he loves Dave Thomas.

Great guy. He remembers you months after you took his class...His tests are very fair and does put some of the problems out of the book on the test. Just make sure you understand the material before test day. I got a B putting forth little effort.

This guy actually cares if you learn it. He doesnt want you to just show up. I was horrible at math in high school. I made an A in his class by just paying attention and doing my homework.

Highly recommend taking him. I had no taken a math class since..well over a decade. He's pretty cool and loves Bama and Dave Thomas(Wendy's). Homework every night and he goes over it the next class. DO the homework. Tests are from the homework usually 25-30 questions. I struggled most of the class but that was mostly my fault. Final is comprehensiv

He is hilarious! But he is also a very good math teacher. I made a C in his class only because I didn't study like I should. If you do the homework and put in the time, you can make an A no problem. Take him if you get a chance.

I pretty much hate statistics, but he did a good job. He gives several examples, and he's always willing to answer questions. His tests were fair, and always covered material he'd explained. If you do your homework and study for the tests, you'll be fine. He'll warn you about any test question that might be tricky.

I really enjoyed taking Mr. McCaa. I was really nervous about taking a math class after 10 yrs. but he did a great job. He explained things in a way my high school teachers never did. I highly recommend taking him. He is very helpful. Do your homework and don't be afraid to ask questions. I made an "A" in his class.

Very GOOD teacher. Makes class fun. It's MAth you have to study but tells you what's on the test. NO tricks. Get 5 test and a final replaces final grade with lowest test score if it's higher. Keeps you paying attention doesn't care about phones. Basically I'm taking him for all Math classes! Very helpful at his office too!

I loved Mr. McCaa. He's hysterical, makes math VERY easy to understand, and is always available for help. He is by far the best math teacher I've ever had. If you pay attention and do your work and take advantage of his help, you will make an A or B. I highly recommend him -- my favorite teacher!

Mr. McCaa is an excellent math teacher. He explains things very well and is extremely willing to help his students out. Tests are easy if you look over the assigned homework and the notes taken in class. Homework was never taken up, but I strongly advise that you do it. I would recommend taking Mr. McCaa for all math classes!

Mr. McCaa is the best asset the Tech Math Dept has going. He is an exceptional teacher. If you are new to the school and don't know who to take, you can't go wrong with McCaa. He doesn't just teach from the book like so many teachers do. He really gets in there and teaches the subject.

probably one of my favorite professors at Tech! I love this man to death. I am not a math person by any means but I made a B in this class. He is very friendly and is always willing to help you out if you have questions. Loves to teach and really cares that his students learn the material.

He is an awesome teacher. He does joke in class which makes it interesting. He gives notes on the board and refers to the books examples, but he also incorporates his own ways of learning which are usually better. Take notes and come to class. If you need help his door is always open. I have taken him for Math 100, 112 and now 240!... GOOD LUCK!

Extremely nice and always willing to help you out. The only problem is no matter how much you may no the material, does not mean you will do good on his test. His test were always difficult and he counts off for the smallest things.

He might be the most helpful teacher i've encountered during my time at Tech so far! I took 112 while taking 240 and he helped me to see when things were related! I would recommend him to everyone!! His humor will keep you involved and he tries to get to know every student, very unlike some other professors!

Great teacher clearly explains the work and is very helpful. He is my favorite math teacher so far. you will do fine as long as you do your homework. It may seem overwhelming but TRUST ME it helps tremendously when it comes test time.

Great professor. Shows a love for his students even after you leave his class. His office door is always open if you need help. He explains problems very well and will always answer your questions. He made it easy. I went to class everyday, and I made an A. He had 'homework' assigned but we did not have to do it. He made it easy to understand, fun, and started really liking Trig. Wish he was available for 241 this Winter. Next time I get the chance to have him as a professor, I am taking it.

Loved his class! Tests were easy if you did your homework and studied and did problems out of the textbook before it. Makes a lot of jokes and tends to get off track but he makes you like him. Just don't talk or he will get irritated with you. I wish he was teaching 125 this next quarter.

Mr. McCaa is the man. I would take him for any and all of my math classes if possible. Class always goes by super quick because he is such a jokester. McCaa was an awesome teacher! He keeps you interested and focused with his sense of humor. Really helpful when you need help and in class. He goes through examples and explains the examples again to you afterwards to make sure you understand. Extra practice is given from the textbook but not collected for a grade. McCaa is a GREAT teacher. If you struggle with math or just want an easy class I highly suggest him. The class was fairly easy but you still need to pay attention. He is very helpful and has a sense of humor. 10/10 would recommend.

Superb teacher!!

Best teacher ever! I would take him for the whole 240 series if I could. He is willing to do any problems you are having trouble with on Webwork or in the book in class. He is clear on what is going to be on the test. He is very entertaining so his class never felt like it was dragging on.

Mr. McCaa is a great teacher, probably the best math teacher by far at Tech. If you have any questions he will answer them. His test are straight from his notes, but he gives not a lot of partial credit and grades hard. You can pass the class with a B if you do webwork, aleks, and study the notes. He gives a few bonus activities also.

Great teacher! Cracks a few jokes in class to keep you awake. There is math lab homework, but he gives you plenty of time to work on it! I would definitely take him again if I get a chance!

Overall McCaa is a great teacher, to be successful in his class you must review notes and practice the book problems. The bookwork is highly beneficial.

Mr. McCaa is awesome. In class there will be plenty of notes for you to be able to properly prepare for the exams. Yes, the exams are a little tough, but again I say the notes were very resourceful. Also, Mr. McCaa is HILARIOUS. He will drill the material until he is positive everyone understands. I would mos def take another one of his classes.

Dr. McCaa is a good teacher - he covers the material well and provides plenty of in-class examples, especially if you ask for them. The only issue with him is that, at least in Stats, is that he draws out the lecture to the entire 1 hr & 50 mins when he could be done in 15 mins. Expect to sit there bored a lot of the time, otherwise he's good.

Dr. McCaa is one of the best math professors at Louisiana Tech. However, his tests are VERY hard. He gives very little partial credit. He makes class enjoyable!

Stan McCaa is one of my favorite collage professors. you couldn't find a professor who cares more about the students he teaches. He truly is hilarious and he keeps his lectures fun and interesting. Keep doing your homework and SHOW UP TO CLASS. and you will find yourself loving math, even if it's never been one of your academic strengths.

Coming from someone who is allergic to math and has always struggled to do well in it, he made everything very clear and easy to understand. We'd spend like 2o minutes just asking questions from the homework the night before to make sure we understood it. We'd do countless examples on new lessons. 10/10 recommend him for any math.

Mccaa is a cool dude. He is a little quirky, but he is very good at explaining math concepts. I took him for an honors course, so he didn't curve the tests which was a bummer. I had him my very first quarter and had to bust my butt to get an A. It is doable though.

Make sure you come to class. He's a funny guy who is great at teaching. He recommends you buy the book, but it's not mandatory. It will help you out, though. His tests are straight from the notes. Can't get any better than that!

Great professor. Math is a weak point for me, however, I did very well in his class. I never had any problem learning the material in class. He's very quirky and often randomly funny to keep you engaged. Does a fantastic job of explaining difficult material and showing easier ways of doing things. Pay attention and review your notes for test!

Mr McCaas class was a great atmosphere and he really made you like math. Hes always willing to help, very funny & just an all around good guy. Wish I could take him every single quarter. Do homework, buy the book, show up and try. Youll pass. His tests he goes over what will be on the test, so no surprises.

Math is not my strong suit, but after taking him for MATH 099 and 100 he made everything seem so clear and easy. Somedays all we would do was work on examples from the homework and test. I'm taking Mr. McCaa again for MATH 112 (Trignonmetry) this fall. I would totally recommend anyone to take him, you won't regret it!!!

If youre not a "math person" take him! He makes problems understandable and takes his time when going over examples. The best thing about his class is the notes/powerpoints are EXACTLY like the test. Study that (not my math lab) and you'll definitely get a great grade. He has a great sense of humor as well.

McCaa makes a 10 am trig class not seem awful! He's super funny and is always willing to help. The math labs are a lot especially if you fall behind. If you come to class, take good notes, study the problems on the syllabus, do the mathlabs, and ask questions, you will do fine. It's not an easy A unless you make it one! Mccaa is a hilarious and cool professor. He loves to interact with his class, and he is very good at explaining material in terms you already understand. He answers questions from the webwork at the beginning of every class. Accessible outside of class and cool to talk to.

Mr. McCaa is the best calc professor on this campus, no cap. Calc itself is still a pretty difficult subject, but with his clear and easy to follow lectures, I was able to pull out an A. He also goes over WeBWork questions if you need help. Hes also so hilarious!

Easily the best teacher I've ever had. He would answer questions about the homework from the night before and explain why we would do that. We would go over multiple examples of the lesson so we understand what'll be on the test and the homework. He would lighten the dull mood with a few jokes and would get to know us individually. Overall 10/10.

Professor MaCaa was a wonderful teacher. He really explained everything thoroughly, just ask questions and study the notes on moodle. don't get behind on MyMathLab. textbook is not needed, but you do need to buy MyMathLab. You will need to study a lot to make it through this class. MaCaa is really good at explaining things. You'll love the class.

He was just a genuinely good teacher. You can tell he cares a lot about how he teaches and he will get you literally infinite help if you need it. The people who don't do well in the class either don't do the hw, like me, or are just lazy and are blaming it on the teacher.

McCaa is an amazing teacher for Calculus. I struggle with math compared to other subjects, but he made it interesting. Your 3 tests are worth 60% of your grade and your final is worth 30%, but he makes it very clear what will be on the exams and what you need to know.

Mr McCaa is the best math teacher and is the reason why i finally passed pre-calc. His teaching methods make the lectures interesting and fun. If you want to pass the tests and exams.. STUDY THE NOTES! And do MyMathLab until you confidently get alot of the problems right first try, otherwise you will struggle to pass.

Mr. McCaa is the best professor I have ever had! He’s super nice, patient, reasonable, and fun! I wasn’t very good at precalculus and I took multiple courses for it over the years in high school, but thanks to him I have finally been able to see improvement in my math abilities!

I respect Professor McCaa. You can tell he is deeply passionate about what he teaches. He's never been negative and always has a good attitude. His lectures can be a little fast-paced, but he is happy to help you with any questions you may have. There are only grades by exams, so study well and take notes; make sure you understand everything

Literally the best teacher I've ever had. I can't say enough about him, I have never understood math before, and he made it all make sense. I am so sad my schedule did not work out to where I could have taken him this quarter! If you have the opportunity to take him, DO IT!

My favorite professor, would take again. I had him for 241 and 242, aka Calc 1 and 2. The book is not required, it helps, but you can find it online. There are three tests, a final, and the Webwork. As far as I know he is not teaching this course again, but if he does, take him, I seriously doubt I would've passed if not for him.

Mr. McCaa is a great teacher. I had to drop cal 2, but taking it with him a couple quarters later was super manageable. He is a VERY funny guy and loves to joke around with his students. He is great at teaching calculus and obviously knows the material well. He is super approachable and always happy to help.

Fantastic professor, loves what he does with a passion. It's still calculus though so your performance is almost entirely based on your desire to learn the material. He's incredibly accommodating for his students but doesn't sacrifice learning for comfort. His class is best experienced with a friend to glance at whenever he says strange things.
