This man is very rude. Speaking in front of the class for the first time is hard enough as it is without him taking points off for the smallest speech mannerisms. Even the most diverse class will come together against him by the end of the semester.
I agree with the other comments. He is VERY RUDE and does nothing for the confidence of a student. He marks a person down for the slightest imperfection in their speech. He is too critical in his evaluations. He is not willing to help, only criticize.
This guy is rude and arrogant. Not very consistent with grading. I would highly recommend finding another teacher for any speech class you might need.
As long as you show up to class and do the work, it's a easy A, but the guy is a jerk. Don't drink anything before entering his class. If you have to go, you'll be marked absent and won't be allowed back in the room. I also agree with everyone else on

This professor is the rudest professor I have ever had. To get an A in the class just do ur speeches and stay under the radar. It sucks 'cause this was supposed to be the funnest class I would take at HFCC but he ruined it.
Mr. Moore was a weirdo...He critiqued the hell out of my speeches and I never got higher than an A. He ****es a lot and is really moody. BUT he does give really easy extra credit so I got an A+. I would take him.

The guy is a total JERK. He enjoys being a smart ass or something. Very anal when it comes to grading speeches. The greatest sounding speeches will turn out to a low grade. However the class is easy, and so is the work. So if you can put up with him, take it.
I liked Mr. Moore. I did really well in the class. While I thought he was plesant, I can see why other people say moody. If you don't give horrible speeches you'll do well.
This is an excellent teacher for people who really want to learn, don't listen to others who speak negatively of him, they're not in school to learn they're there to play around...I recommend this teacher and he's easy and straight forward
What a complete jerk! I got an A in the class but the teacher is so rude and arrogant. He's very disrespectful to his students, even those who are doing well and working hard. He's moody and extremly unhelpful. It seems that he gets pleasure out of breaking down people's confidence. I would certainly not recommend this teacher to a friend or enemy.
He is a good teacher. if you want to truely learn take him. if u want to play around, do not take him because you will not get bye with a good grade.
He's a nice teacher but very moody, When your doing your speech he will grade you as if you did a crime if you did bad. If not you will pass with an easy A. And gives lots of smart and rude comments.

I got an A, but the guy is a pretty big jerk. I can recall one time when a student asked a question, he refused to answer his question, bc it was a "stupid question." He makes his students feel less intellectual. His tests were kinda hard for a speech class. He's a fair grader tho. I wouldn't really recommend him, take Owens I heard she was cool.
his a great teacher and his tests are open book tests...his just a great person and gives lot of extra credit... his class seems hard in the beggning but later on it will be one of the easiest

The class itself wasn't terrible- all the exams were open book and we only had a total of 3 speeches- all within the last month of class. Final exam he allowed for a take home. But he tends to has "his days" where he can be completely moody and a jerk. Overall not a terrible professor. Class was fairly easy.
Well. I got an A in the class. Why? Not because he is a great teacher; just because communication is my major, and speech is my game, but he is a bad teacher. he talks 24/ 7 he doesnt respect his students, and he doesnt allow them to speak. With moore, you cannot speak in a speech class.
This man is a clown literally but he does give extra credit to help the grade. Don't take him unless everything else is full. I didn't learn anything really.

Mr. Moore is a fair teacher, a lot of students give him crap but they get what they deserve. I would highly suggest not procrastinating on speeches, get them done as soon as they are assinged. He doesn't ask for much just that you show up everyday and you give your speech for the assinged day. I would highly recommend him. DON'T PROCRASTINATE!!!

Extremley rude, does not treat his students with respect, a lot of extra credit though and you can use your books and notes on the tests. Only 2 tests the whole semester. Overall a moderate class just dont talk and dont procrastinate.
he is a is a little girl. he has to much drama in his life, also as i stated before, he is about 60, and he acts like a old man, that has social issues. u will find out of u take his class, also DO NOT BUY THE TEXT BOOK, U NEED THE EBOOK.
S moore is a good person, but he should work on how he treats students, I have found that he treats students poorly. For example, he is stubborn, inconsiderate, and short with students. He is in need to consoling. In rare cases, he acts like a child.
The first day I walked into his class, he was so nice. And every test that he has told us about so far, he said that we can use our notes. But, I've only had him for 2 class periods so far, so we'll see!!!
Man he was a very hot tempered teacher. very moody.very impatient. easy class to get an A. but u got to deal with him. he was great in teaching students how to talk. especially if u were nervous.not an easy grader though

Mr. Moore is not the rosiest of personalities but he can help you overcome your nervousness in front of crowds and the organization of what you are communicating like no other. Always be prepared and show respect and you will do fine.

As stated in the previous responses, he acts like a 4 year old. I found that he was very inconsiderate to the minority population of our class. WORD OF ADVICE: SKIP CLASS WHEN HE FORGETS HIS MEDS!! P.S. I often noticed a rather offensive odor in the class. GOOD LUCK.

Good teacher. Mostly used the book. Tests were easy b/c you get to use w/e notes you take. Is big on attendance and not interrupting! Helped a lot after class. Helped a lot w/ improving your speech skills. Tried to make it fun a few times. Get on his good side and you'll be fine.

only take Stanley if you're already a good speaker. he's extremely picky and rude to people he decides not to like for no reason. he treats his students like we're in 6th grade.
Mr Moore tries hard to keep things interesting, probably because his voice is monotone like Ben Stein. This class is easy if you do the work. The tests are more difficult than required, but since the speeches are worth so much of your grade you can flunk every test and get an A. He's annoying but this class is easy.
This professor has a tendency to change his expectations of what is required if you are one of his own. He shows extreme favoritism. His grading system is unfair.
I had Mr. Moore for Speech 131. He is absolutly amazing. He was very understanding and always polite. If you do what you are asked you will definatly get an A. Pay attention to his power points because all of the test questions are from them. I miss his class.

I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, this guy is faling peoples speeches like nothing 17/50, 22/50, 21/50. HE is so rude!! and makes u do 4-5 prestational aids and have a lot of sources, He is such a Drama queen. Everytime u go ask him a question, he answers you in a mean way and makes you feel stupid. i wish he would retir
He is very annoying. He grades the speeches so hard and expects so much. He will find something wrong with your speech so he wouldnt give you a 100%. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!
ok the thing is with more is he gives like 150 points extra credit(35% of your grade), and some ppl fail the 50 point spch, but after that that 115, 150 pt speech he gave everyone A and B, personally if you do wat is asked of you and Do the ALL THE EXTRA CREDIT your str8, btw no homework, 2 open book tests (easy!)
The class starts out very easy but by the third speech his grading gets really picky... If it wasn't for all the extra credit I probably would have gotten a C, but managed to pull off a B+ pretty easily. Attendance is definitely mandatory. Overall it wasn't horrible. There are much worse Speech 131 teachers at Henry Ford.
yah were at hfcc but its like im at a jail cell.. hes hard! and stressed me out sooo frkn much, but at the end i did learn alot of things and now i dnt have stage fright :)btw u use ur book for his tests, they wernt hard, but his speechs are

One minute he says one thing then the next he says another; if you're concerned about your education you will pass! He gives a ton of extra credit when he feels like it! The speeches are fun and if you have a nice class you will do fine! His test are open book!

I am dropping his class because I have never felt so disrespected in 19 years of schooling by a teacher. His sarcastic comments about my personal business in front of the entire class were extremely out of line and unprofessional. Additionally he taught his class as if we were elementary school children.

I received an A bt I agree mr Moore is very rude and at at times disrespectful. I recommend knowing your speech by heart because he deducts major points for not knowing your material. He's very particular about his grading system. He takes points off for hats logos on clothes and not tucking your shirt in fellas. He does give a lot of extra credit in the beginning TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT ALL BCUZ U WILL NEED IT AT THE END!
Rude beyond all belief. Does NOT help assist students when they have a question. Makes students feel stupid IF he answers their questions. Shows extreme favoritism. Does not have any specific grading system. If you value your sanity, DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!
The semester isn't even over yet, and I can already say if you can take this class with someone else, please by all means do so. In all my 16 years of going to school, I have never had a teacher as rude as him. Acts extremely unprofessional (such as saying "duh" in response to a question). I can honestly say that I hate going to his class.
I got an A in his class on the final day. Do all the extra credit you can because you will need it. Very picky on how you present speeches. I got mark down a lot because I didn't use flash cards. He will take away points if you don't show up. Do all the work and you should get an A.

He's a very easy teacher. Just go to class and put some effort and you'll do well. He may be a bit rude sometimes but it's not too bad. Only 2 quizzes and a final. His speeches at the beginning are easy, and there are 2 final speeches that you work on for half the semester. And he gives lots of extra credit.

Never again he is terrible he does give alot of extra credit but the only reason he does so people to fail his class like crazy when the 2 major speeches came in he was a grading nazi no matter how hard we tried the best speech got a B he has no sympathy for anyone he gave a D to a kid who was shy with a talking disability dont take him
This man prides himself on being a "tough grader". He grades based one his opinion of you, so don't get on his bad side. He once gave more than half the class an E on an assignment and refused to explain why. Stanley Moore is more suited to be a DMV worker than a teacher, don't take him unless you absolutely have to.

Would not recommend this teacher to any living creature. Take this class with another professor! I repeat, take this class with another professor. His grading system is a joke. I'm a 4.0 student and have not gotten a C ever. I may be a little shy to talk in front of an audience but not to the point where you give me a D on one of my speeches!
He's a super harsh grader when it comes to speeches. He's rude. He isn' helpful. He isn't very lively; the class will put you to sleep. He misses class every now and then due to his heath condition so I kinda felt bad for him, but not as bad as I felt for myself. I had to retake speech with a different professor. Save yourself the misery.
He is so rude to his students & was so mean, which doesn't help those students who already have a problem w/ speaking in front or a group. If you asked him a question he would make you look stupid in front of the class. He really hates high school students & if you try & ask him for help he would say that this is a college class deal with it. :(

I'm not sure if we're even talking about the same professor here after reading the other ratings but when I took Professor Moore's class he was great! Very organized, and very nice! Just go to class and do your work, as long as you put in an effort you'll pass with flying colors. P.s. Respect is earned not given!
Easy class but you have to put time into it, he is a tough grader and very inconsiderate, and isn't an understanding guy. He doesn't like to answer questions and is always taking off points. I personally do not recommend him and wouldn't take him again although his work is easy.

Be ready to do some work, he can see the slack in my eyes and I dont think he approves of it. Anyway If you put in the work and some effort there is no reason he wont give you all of your points. Give your speeches and do so with some guts and do so in the way in which he instructs and youll be fine

If you attend class, do homework (he doesnt give lots of home work but some people will take more time to get their speech ready), and do your speech following the rules you will get an A or a B. He is a stong teacher but he gives lots of work for extra credits.

Seems harsh at first but very understanding and helpful. Gives tons of extra credit and will take time to talk to you outside of class if needed. Don't understand his rating, he can be intense at times but definitely one of the good professors at HFC. Any speech class is gonna be work guys.

This guy is on shrooms, his eyes are always red. Wallah he came in with flip flops in december while there was a snow storm outside. This guy sometimes turns around so he wont face the class and has a legit conversation with himself. He picks his nose and flings it at students when were not paying attention. Run while you still can.
I really don't know why he's rated so low. He is literally an easy A, and he offers SO MUCH extra credit. Take advantage of that guys! Also you do 3 main big speeches during the semester which are not at all too bad, you get to pick your topic. Also you get a couple tests before the final exam which are so easy! Just study notes are really easy!!!!
Testing wise : Go to class take notes study for your exams you will be fine (and thats only on test terms) Speech wise: PREPAREEEE your speech or you will have a hard time you need to follow directions given on what to do and not to do and pay attention during his "examples" they can be very helpful at times Personality wise: MeAn and harshhhhhhh

incredibly disrespectful. Told our class he did not enjoy his time with us and was glad it was over when my class was filled with elderly and middle-aged classmates, we were a very normal class, he just had problems.
He is easily one of the worst professors I have ever had. I am an honor student at Henry Ford and he truly made me work for my grade in the worst way possible. He is so nasty to students and I was raised to always treat people with respect, so you would think he would at least give it back sometimes? No. He is rude and makes you feel incompetent.
he's really not that terrible. I failed all of the tests but worked really hard on my speeches. PREPARE and follow the rubric. the people who failed came unprepared and worked on their presentation last minute. He assigns some homework and some extra credit. he can be rude sometimes. but he's okay. the book is required (homework).
