this teacher is great - he's always trying to crack jokes and they're really not very funny, but he's approachable, very friendly, accesible and goes out of his way to hold tutorials and help you out through email. he gives a lot of part marks too

Good teacher. Very approachable, has a lot of office hours, and organizes tutorials before exams. He will also devote class time to answering any questions you have. Overall, he's a nice guy, but his constant jokes are not funny. Well, you laugh at the jokes because they're so corny. Take his class.

Simply the BEST! Does lots of examples and answers your emails very fast. If u send it in the evening u'll get ur answer next morning around 7. Strongly recommended to take him! Thsi is the teacher who made like accounting, the best ever teacher!

Stan helps a lot. Great in class examples (although he does ramble sometimes) and has flexible office hours. He wants to make sure that the student understands the topics at hand and goes through the material untill you're good. *Keep on top of the homework though!!

He reminds me of some great teachers I had in high school... Always prepared, very clear and friendly, but he does ramble at times. The subject is tough, but I perceived him as a fair marker. I would recommend him any day.

What is great of him is he always trys to understand how students learn so he learns how to teach. So you will learn in a clear and easy way. He does ramble sometimes and avoids questions he can not handle. I teaches comm217 even better. I wouldn't choose someone because he is the course coordinator

Very good teacher, does lots of examples in class,do the assignments and do not fall behind in the course. Don't take this course in the summer its way too fast and way too much work. His class exams are difficult, but the final is impossible.Keep up with the work and he will make sure your prepared for the final.

this teacher was great. I had taken an accounting class previous to this and did not understand. He just made it seem so simple. He is very helpful and motivates his students. I strongly recommend this teacher. You need to work hard for his class because the topic requires a lot of practical work, but if you could easily get a B. Just do the work!!

He makes a very hard class easy to understand and grasp the ideas and concepts. I had taken this course in the summer and dropped it but with him, i had no problems. He cares a lot about his students and will makes shure that you understand if you go and see him. Although his jokes are pretty lame, i recommend him

This is the best professor I've seen in a LONG (10+ yrs)time. Course may be difficult, but he is professional and helpful: knowledgable, disciplined, succinct, clear and no hippy-style "creative" garbage. He's down-to-earth, and really makes an effort for students to understand. Bottom line: take this guy if you're doing comm 217!

He is one of the best profs I ever had. He made me enjoy the course and understand the material well. It is a very tough course, but it was worth it with this prof.

He's a really great guy - makes funny little jokes all the time that you can't help but laugh at. The course itself is extremely boring - I found myself falling asleep a few time in class but thats not something he can change. He does the best he can with the subject. Very clear and helpful. His number 1 concern is that everyone understands.

Ok, first this class is hard so get ready to study, alot. You need the book read it and understand it perfectly!! As for the teacher, he is good in that he's an easy marker, he strongly believes in partial marks!! So study the book, and just write something that makes sense and you'll get at least a B.

Professor Mroz is surely one of the best prof in concordia. He is very very help and nice. He mark the exam very generously. The course needs us to do many problems for practicing, the final is gonna be Hard, but if you do practice a lot,and try to do every problem in the exam even though you are not sure. I would take him again if I could

Really nice guy, does what he can to get the message accross to the class. He really relates to the students, he knows when we're all LOST so he tried to explain differently. Doesn't give up on his students. Plus, he's funny! I would definetely reccommend him.

Okay, I only have good things to say about this professor! I swear he's the best, he genuinely WANTS you to pass. He really does believe in partial marks so even if you don't understand the subject, study minimally and write down anything coherent and odds are, you'll pass.

Not really my type of teacher, he babies you along and spends time answering the most ridiculous questions. However I can't complain about his grading. I went to about 15% of the classes and reading the study guide was more than enough to give me an A+. Overall Mroz is easy, but must toughen up his stance with students and let the bad ones fail!

He's a great teacher, probably the best financial accounting teacher at Concordia. Try to take his class. No matter what though, you need work SUPER hard in this class. It is way too difficult to be a 200 level course, takes up way too much study time and covers a ridiculous amount of topics in such little time. Be prepared to work your socks off.

Ok! All the reviews below are from students who leave to study the material until last two weeks before exam.In that case, You deserve F.if you study the chapter before going to class and do assigned problems there is no way you get less than B+. Also Mroz is the easiet grader ever.

Great teacher! Not an easy class. You need to study on your own. Try not getting behind, its hard to catch up. The only thing i didn't like was that he covered 2 chapters before the midterm that were only getting tested for the final, so as a result, everyone was 2 chapters behind after the midterm. Prof. Mroz is great teacher tought.Very helpfull.

Good prof. Very helpful but he cannot solely teach all the material required for the course since it is long and very annoying. I suggest you read the text book and go to tutorials every week.

This class requires a good chunk of your time. The midterm and final are both worth 40% each, so make sure you STUDY the old exams!! Mr. Mroz is very easy going. The weekly tutorials will help you a lot. Most of the class got Bs and Cs, however 20% got A- or better. Make sure you UNDERSTAND the RATIOS, you'll thank me when you see the final...

He tries to help his students as much as possible. He goes over examples in class so you get a little extra practice. Make sure to know all ratio cause final has a whole question just on them. Go to the tutorials... they help alot.

Stanley Mroz is a great professor! He gave me the taste of accounting and thanks to him I changed my major from Finance and hasn't regretted it since. This course requires work on your part but you can be sure that Mr.Mroz is always there to help!

His explanations are clear and he can crack a few funny jokes during the class. Good teacher but the class is somewhat hard. Dont take acco 230 if you dont intend to work hard.

Very interesting and fulfilling class in the end. But know this: you have to read the textbook, and you have to do the suggested problems. This is the ONLY way you will learn. The professor is only there to reinforce your learning. It will take a lot of effort, but it is not hard to learn. And Stan is a great professor!

This is not a hard class. Even with a bad teacher, all you have to do is read the textbook and practice the suggested problems. I did not find Mr. Mroz to be a particularly clear teacher, but he is very nice and has a good sense of humour.He also marks generously.

He made me my world the first semester I spent at JMSB. Extremely helpful and supportive professor. Because of him I changed my major into Accounting and it was my best decision so far. He is such an amazing prof.

Very relaxed/casual teacher. He KNOWS his stuff, and explains it VERY well. I couldnt go to his office hours, but he replies to his email EVERYDAY with CLEAR replies, even at 3am! Just to make things better, he's a Habs fan, and hates the Maple Leafs. What more could you ask for? Email him everytime you have a question about a problem, he helps!

He talks a lot, he is a good teacher, but he throw fits like a child.... sometimes he would go on and on and threaten that he will shut the computer and leave if we kept on talking.. not sure why he would not just do that... the class was good in general just annoying most of the time.... this is one of the best teachers in JMSB.I had him for comm 217, i took him again for comm 305.extremely helpful and willing to present the material in such a way so even students not liking it(like me), start finding it logic. Dedicated to his profession, but not going out of proportion. I recommend him to everybody!

Mroz is an amazing teacher. He has a way if simplifying the material for this course that would make it sensible to anyone. If you do the regular problems that he assigns you'll be okay. You can tell that he's very intelligent (has his CA) and also really wants his students to succeed if they put the work in. This is not an easy course.

i had him and class was very easy but i was being a bum didnt do anything until there was a month and half left for the semester and i discontinued it im taking again this summer hopefully ill do well but i screwed up but mr mroz was was a good teacher the times i attended classses.

Prof. Mroz is an excellent prof and very funny guy. Although accounting is not my thing, he made it enjoyable and clear. If you have the chance, take him (before he retires!!!) Seriously!

This prof is great, he is honestly the greatest prof i have had so far. He repeats to make sure students understand, and he is not a difficult market i got 94 and 95.5 on my midterms and an A+ overall. He makes sure students understands the material and if you need help he responds to emails within 24 hours just great!

This teacher is a good man and a fair teacher. I don't know why people complain about him. I believe that those who complain that he is boring because they think that the teacher is in the class to entertain them. Take him for accounting!

One of the greatest Accounting profs. There are 2 accounting profs at GDBA, take Mroz at any cost. Attend the class and listen, and that is it he does everything even sometimes if you cant do practice problems you would be fine with it if you listen to him in class. for exams he asks what he teaches in class and much easier problems in exam as well

Lot of material to cover, can be overwhelming sometime but the teacher is really clear and make the content approachable. Best teacher for 217. Go to tutorials, really helpful. Fair grader, tricky midterm though.

He's a good teacher. He follows the textbook and goes through every slide. I often had to discover the steps to solving a problem on my own. He tries to be funny... He often tells the class to quiet down, which gets annoying. Attend class, read the book, do the assignments and get a 70%.

nice teacher. has consistent office hours and answers email the same day usually. the above student saying he isn't helpful probably relied purely on the teacher and didn't study. this isn't a class where you can just listen and ace it. you got to put in the work. he's a good Asset(cwatididthere?) to have to help you achieve a good grade

One of the best teachers I've had, explanations are clear and he takes time to go through at least one homework problem each week and (will take the entire hour and a half if he feels that the students need it). He is also really helpful, he answers as many questions as he can in class and will be more than happy to help during office hours.

You do have to put in the work thou since acco230 is not an easy class. He explains clearly, but you need to have an idea of the topic beforehand (read the slides). Will take again.

COMM 217 is a very difficult class however, Stan was very helpful outside of class. He answers his emails quickly and gives grades back pretty quickly within a reasonable amount of time. Great guy!

There's a lot of material to cover for this course, but Mr. Mroz explains it so well and do examples in class until he makes sure everyone understand. I would absolutely take him again.

Mr. Mrozs lectures are very understandable and he is hilarious. He explains every details patiently and doesnt mind if someone asks silly questions. Always replies my emails within an hour and always caring and encouraging. I got very good scores in exams because he made accounting so interesting.

This is my first class with Professor Stanley Mroz. But so far he is amazing for me. This is because he makes us clear about the basic concepts of Financial Accounting .Therefore, in the future I wish I can complete my Accounting major courses if he teaches most of them.

He's also very open to email but, he wants his students to come to class although attendance is not mandatory, he can also help with any textbook problems

Comm 217 is a very hard course, and requires a lot of practice. Read the chapters before class, practice the problems. Prof Mroz will help a lot and answer all your questions. He is also very clear and straightforward and by far the best choice for this class.

Very competent teacher. While COMM 217 is a tough entry-level accounting course, Mroz explains all concepts in very concise and easy-to-understand manner. He is very clear with his expectations and establishes what the workload will look like from the very beginning of the course. The subject demands a great deal of practice regardless of teacher.

Would be easy to reach out to him, my experience might be different for learning since I had taken a similar course in high school but his lectures explained concepts well enough
