One of the funniest professors I have ever had, but a little old and cranky too
This guy loves to listen to himself talk about anything but accounting
This guys is lucky he's tenured or he would so be out of a job.
If you drive a saturn don't take is class
Easy class, don't expect to learn anything. Buy the book, come to tests.
Wasn't very good.. class sucked
reads power point slides. talks about anything to use time. won't learn!!!
Loves to hear himself talk, you dont learn a thing! But exam is optional
I think he's always on the verge of flipping out!
IF I COULD UNDERSTAND THE DIALECT HE USED, MAYBE I COULD UNDERSTAND HIM
dont expect to learn anything!!!
Funny. I enjoyed his class. Teaches right out of book. Easy Tests.
Doesn
Harley rep or prof? Haven't really learned much. Talks about anything he w
Worst prof ever! Worst class ever! Hardly passed. Won't learn anything!!!!!!!

tough tests
learned alot about IBM, nothing on acct. terrible prof!!!
Nice guy, has alot of real-world experience. Class is not structured well.
Prof was very helpful. Understands that you also have a life outside of school

Class was not that bad. Tests are OK. Funny professor.

If you do the problems he assigns, you will do awesome on the tests. Hes a very fun teacher with good stories. Lots of things are optional including the final which you dont have to take, and if you do, it cant hurt you.
Guy is pretty cool, but accounting sucks. Tests are easy if you do homework.
Stan's cool, Accounting sucks....
This class isn't fun material. But, he's got fun stories, and isn't out to get you. Do his homework, and you should be fine. Lots of little tests and an optional final that can't hurt you. So, if you fail one test you aren't screwed.

This guy is great. He lets you skip a test and the final.Tells you just what you need, and makes it not so boring.
Lots of real world experience. Great professor. Would definitely take again. Great Master's level course.
great prof. one of the best ive ever had
Sorely underated prof. Makes dull subject interesting. Very helpful and funny. Offers insight into certification and readiness. Lots of real world insight & experience (rare at GVSU). I would take this prof again in the future.
Horrible prof. Lectures have nothing to do with tests. Repeats same stories over and over. He'd rather give his opinion then teach. You don't even need to go to class, can go over exam questions on your own.
This class was really easy, all you have to do is study the book and do the homework assignments and you'll do great. Stan really wants you to get a good grade. I hardly went to class and got an A.
Wants the kids to learn and do good, but doesn't do a good job teaching at all. Everything you learn will be from the book or the homework. But curves the class, and sets up the tests so it should be easy enough to get a good grade if you do the homework
He is a great prof. he's very helpful, just go talk to him. he's a cool Harley riding dude. I would take another class with him anytime!
Nice guy, real world knowledge. Gives extra credit for attendance on days before holidays, breaks, etc. Tries to make tests passable without being a joke.
very easy A for me.
The exams aren't too bad, but there's an EXTREMELY LARGE amount of homework that he collects at each exam. If you don't like homework (who does?), don't take his class.
He is a funny old guy that rides Harleys. He doesn't teach you much in class, and you have to read and do the homework to know what is going on. The class isn't too bad, but I don't know if I would take him again.
Um not a huge fan. I hated this class. I had no accounting experience and since the prof doesn't go over anything (you have to teach yourself out of a boring text book), I am going to get a bad grade.
Reminds me of my grandpa. Nice man, very funny, excellent story teller, very rarely becomes senile, but overall knows his stuff and is a great prof. Would recommend!
For an accounting class it was pretty good. You need to do the homework and study but he puts a nice curve on all the tests. He also drops your lowest test grade so you might not even have to take the final which is nice.
Love the ponytail and leather boots- Fun professor who has an opinion about everything and will spend class time telling you. Exams were easy, just memorize info. Would take again.
Awesome prof! One of the best I've ever had. Gives out all of the questions for the test and half of the answers so all you have to do is find the rest of the answers in the book and memorize them. Really cool. Funny and entertaining most of the time.
Very easy class...won't learn a ton but you'll get a good grade. I didn't apply myself AT ALL and still got a B+. Curves all the tests and gives you half the answers a head of time. EASY!!
Love him, had him for a couple accounting classes, most helpful..
He doesn't explain everything clearly, but he curves every exam and you can use your notes and homework on the exam, so its hard to fail the class. If I ever had to take another accounting class I would try to get him again.
Gives incredibly BORING lectures! But he has a sense of humor at least.
Lectures are pretty much worthless. Need to teach self out of book. Not too difficult though. Can't say I really enjoyed going to class but if you're goal is to get a good grade go ahead and take him.
The lectures are worthless but he gives you answers to questions before the test and you just have to do the other half. Even the project, he gave us the answers a month before it was due. He is funny, but you won't learn anything from him. You will need the book.
Cool professor. If you have questions during the exam he will help you. The class is fairly easy. This is a good class for business majors who don't plan on majoring or care about accounting. However i don't recommend this class for accounting majors because you won't learn much.
Good guy, boring class. You know? Curves the tests, lectures ARE useless. Buy the book, show up on exam days. As long as you know the material, you should be fine. ESPECIALLY non-Accounting majors.
Great guy. Very interesting in lectures, although they usually do not have much to do with the material. Make sure you buy the book, and be prepared to teach yourself a lot. He lets you use your hw and notes on tests, which is awesome.
Great guy...always willing to help and the test are easy too. you get a test bank and the exams are taken from the bank...if you can take this guy....
He's a very interesting guy and I learned a lot from him, but it wasn't always about accounting. His lectures pertain nothing to the exams and I actually got confused while he was lecturing more than if I just read it myself. Exams are open note and there are a lot of them so it's easy to get your grade up if you have the right stuff in your note
Nice and easy but still learned alot.
not too bad of a class. glad i dont have to take any more accounting though. he was helpful in that we were able to use our notes and homework on tests and he curved the grade which helped everyone in the class. so if you really have to take this class he would be the one to take it with.
Great prof for people who hate accounting. You don't have to go to class, and lectures don't really pertain to the book anyway. Lets you use notes and homework on tests, curves by quite a bit to make sure everyone does ok, final is optional and he gives you a test bank. However, there's a lot of homework, and you have to teach yourself quite a bit.
Nice guy. Likes just talking about accounting more than actually teaching the course material. Tests are hard but questions help prepare you for the CPA exam. Curves the tests so nobody does worse than a B.
This guy is nice and funny. He would be fun to hang out with he has a pony tail and drives a Harley and he's honest about the accounting profession. Seems like he wants the class to be easy, but he gives a load of homework and in spite of the curve, the class takes a lot of time. Plan on spending some time on this class.
Fairly easy class. The tests are easy and he curves them. Total waste of time to go to class, and I didn't really actually learn anything about auditting. Project takes a good deal of time, but he grades easy. Very funny and sarcastic during class, which makes it somewhat entertaining.
Stan is a great professor.
You have to do work in order to get a good grade. However, he has 6 exams all open note and he tells you what is on the exam. Copy down the questions at the end of the chapter and whatever short answer examples to help you. Pretty much gives you an A in homework. You also get 5 pts extra credit towards an exam the day prior. Take him if possible.
I struggled, but he did a great job explaining. Do the homework and go to class and he is more than willing to help out. He even gave extra credit for being there a few times.
All I can say is I really needed to learn auditing and I didn't. Being a great guy doesn't make you a great teacher.
Nice guy, very sarcastic and pretty entertaining, however you will learn little from him in lectures. Almost everything is learned from homework and studying on your own. Grades easy, but prioritize your time because you will put A LOT of it into this class. Exams come from a test bank, but are somewhat good prep. for the CPA exam.
WOW! I made the mistake of taking this class 6-9 and it was painful! You won't learn much in class, you have to teach yourself everything. Prof Linquist is nice and will do everything he can to get you a good grade (curves) but it is HARD.
Prof Linquist is awesome!! The class would be soo boring if he focused on the book so he related real life topics, like the economy and big 3 to accounting. I admit ive skipped a fair share of classes but if you do the homework(which he lets you use on the tests..anything besides the book!) easy A!!! and you do learn!
Easy A if you do the homework, ill admit there is a good amount of it. He lets you use the homework and notes that he makes for you on the test, and each is only two chapters long. Take him if you care about your grade instead of learning, if you put effort into the class there is no way you wont get an A. easiest acc 212 teacher i've heard of
this guy is pretty awesome. he lectures only on current events but lets you use notes for exams. Oh, do homework as it is big part of grade. He has like six or seven exams. you can drop one and not take final. He really understands his stuff but you will have to pry it out of him because he enjoys talking about everything else. he cracks me up.
umm horrible teacher! he doesnt teach at all!!!!! if you are not good at teaching yourself dont take the class! i asked him a question in the class and he like bit my head off! but he does let you use notes on the exams! but the mult choice part of the exams are impossible! he is trying to make the class harder than years before.
he added up my grades wrong said he would fix it and then put it on banner wrong (which is a very long process to fix) and would never respond to my emails the whole semester. never ask him questions unless you want your head bit off
He's horrible, Worst teacher. Talks about random news items and gives no examples of accounting. Reads right off the power points, class is boring. Exams reflect nothing of what he covers. Even with the notes and everything he lets you use. STAY CLEAR
I don't know what all the negative comments are for, I really liked Lindquist, fun personalitly and kept financial accounting more interesting than its meant to be. Exams weren't bad, lets you use your notes and anything at all except the book, and he lets you know exactly what problems are on it. Good Prof for first time with Accounting.
Worst prof I have ever taken! Don't bother going to class because all he does is read you slides. His exams are hard and he never covered anything on them. AVOID this Prof!!!
Stan was unclear, difficult to ask questions, unhelpful in office hours, and sometimes rude. Exams were death. Avoid.
Lots of busy work, not a difficult class, focus on the multiple choice questions he posts. Lots of good stories, doesn't teach a whole lot relating to the tests.
I have this professor right now....so far, the class isn't bad at all. However, he expects you to be pretty independent and you must be good at teaching yourself the material. YOU NEED THE TEXTBOOK. The only complaint I have is, he made some rude comments at times. Overall, an okay class.
Everyone on here is being a hater. I'm taking Lindquist currently and long story short, he is the man. He lets you use all notes, homework, pwr point slides on the tests. His curve is so high that the lowest you can get is a C. His stories are interesting and makes class semi-enjoyable. Take him if you want to pass ACC212.
If your capable of teaching yourself majority of the material, this class is easy....would take again.
The lectures are pretty much worthless. You basically teach yourself. Doing the Homework and taking your own notes out of the book is the only education you will get out of this class. The exams can be difficult but you can use homework and notes on them. He does curve his exams. Overall i don't recommend this professor. You wont learn anything.
One of the greatest professors I have had so far. Does not try to trick you on the exam and will go over what is going to be on it the class period before. Makes the lectures interesting with real life stories. It is a boring subject, but he makes it much more interesting. I would take him again.
He is a good professor in that he explains concepts clearly and tells you exactly what you do and don't need to know. For a lot of the material, the book is very good at explaining it, too. He also is a lenient grader (on a curve) and his real-life examples definitely make the lectures interesting and funny.
he was not very helpful, if you asked a question he would just tell you the same thing he had already said, I will never take a class with him again.
Terrible. Lectures are from reading powerpoints to you. Must teach yourself from textbook. Tells you what is on exam but there's always a twist. Then he complains about performance. At least the curve is huge. If you want to be an accountant: avoid. If you just need to pass: take
He is for real SO FUNNY! Easy grader, easy (long) MC exams. Minimum grade is a B if u show up and do anything.
I don't have anything good to say about him other than he tells you what is going to be on the exams. He is not helpful at all and sometimes even rude. I taught myself everything out of the book. There are a lot of tests which helps weight out your grade but he is literally a horrible professor. Lectures are hard to follow as well. AVOID HIM.
He is a funny professor. He does provide you with powerpoint slides, he does let you use your notes and homework on the exams. The exams are extremely difficult if you do not understand the material. I did not learn a thing in his class due to the way he runs his lectures.
Horrible teacher. He only reads from the power points. You do get to use all notes and power points on the exams. Does exams every two chapters. Final is optional. Does not believe in them. If you just want to take the class its good. But did not learn a thing. Try to avoid.
He's hilarious and really genuine. He'll tell you the truth about accounting and auditing - highly recommended!
He is a funny guy, not much else. He gives you the test bank so you just have to find the answers and remember them. Not much else. Homework and 1 project. All homework is graded for completion. Its not possible to get less than a B-, literally his curve does not allow it. Heard it was his last semester, so.
