Very good teacher with excellent knowledge of his stuff. Lots of help in the classroom and his office. Great slides. Tough homework and lab reports.

Cool dude! Had him last year and had an awsome time in his class. Learned a lot about water and drying. Tough assignments - too much time for the number of credits.

He is a great teacher and fun to listen to his lectures. learned a lot and I wish he was teaching another similar class in the program. Very helpful outside class and easy to reach by email evenings and weekends. Good online course material.

Stavros did a great job in both 244 and 282 courses I took with him this year. He is a very good teacher makes things easy to understand and spends time with you if you go to his office to ask questions. Very interested in making sure to get it. Had fun in his courses. I do not understand why couple students had problems last year. Axe to grind?

Good basic linear algebra class. Dr. Avramidis does a great job explaining difficult subject because we do not have good background in this area. Lab is not very related to classes but we were told that this is done on purpose. Great person and very helpful in and out of class.

He did a great job teaching us the basics of linear algebra. I would have like more examples from our program but I understand that this cannot be easy. I liked the class a lot!

I do not do this normally but because I know the two losers below who because they major slackers went on the record and in public to badmouth one of the best profs in the faculty. Stavros is tough when it comes to homework and labs but great teacher. he knows the topic and gives engaging lectures. I wish many others were like him!

I took that course 3 years ago and I tell'ya, that is material that will help you the rest of your co-op and professional career. That is also the result of the amazing job Stavros did in the classroom. To the so obviously negative dudes below: you have an attitude and need help! textbooks are for reading them ... duuuhhhh!

I learned a lot about sawmilling and drying. Highly recommended course for those who want to go into primary manufacturing.

Prof. Stavros is a great teacher and very good with the students. He is always there to answer questions. He gives very good descriptions about complex topics and shows lots of pictures and videos about drying. Highly recommended. This year was strange with asks and all.

Dr. Avramidis is a very knowledgeable and responsible educator and wood drying scholar. I learned a lot of practical and interesting knowledge about wood drying in this class.

Stavros is an experienced teacher. He is very patient. Although he has a little accent in English, I find it very cute after I get used to it. In addition, he is willing to help students, and I am very grateful to him!

He is very humorous and easy-going. WOOD384 is quite enjoyable to me cause he always give examples from real life in an interesting way that helps us understand. I asked him lots of questions after class and he was always willing to help. I really like him and enjoy his course :P. ( His TA is very funny and easy-going too)

Prof. Stavros is a very nice person, his course presentations are very clear, if you go through his ppt carefully and participate in all the classes and labs you will definitely get a good grade. And he is very patient and helpful, if you have any questions in the course you can email him and he will reply very quickly.

Professor Avramidis is a patient and kind person, and he is one of my favorite professors at UBC. His classes are always engaging and insightful, with a clear and logical structure that makes the material easy to understand. He arranges quizzes in place of final exams, which helps to reduce the pressure at the end of the semester.

He will do anything to give the most help to you. But I do see and understand how some toxic students may not like his style of handling things.

He really knows the area of his expertise. He explains complicated things in a way that even kindergarden kids can easily understand. But please really talk to him without hesitation when needed.

He is always in his office to help. I got a higher grade than I ever expected to get in such a difficult math class.

Very well designed course and organised professor! I hope he teaches all courses in wood science.

Not so strict with the deadline and everything. Lab reports are graded with much liniency. Exams are reasonable and marks are always given back if the question has an issue.
