she does not teach, just a ridiculous amount of projects which suck, and she is not clear at all on grading or anything else so the class failed the first assignment. open book quizes are nice but a pain cause there is sometimes more than one correct answer. i would not take her again nor reccommend her.
Stay away from her if possible. Doesn't teach a thing. Not clear on assignments and wonders why the whole class would fail. I went to every class and participated and was .2 away from getting an A and she wouldn't help me out. She doesn't want you to succeed, she took points from my "professionalism" grade for no reason, thus keeping me from an A
Professor Boyer is a great teaching with a passion for the material. I would def take her again. If you go to her office hours she is very helpful. Overall a great lady and a very interesting class.
She no longer does open book and the wording is awful multiple right answers on practically all of them. Way too many assignments, and the class drags on about obvious stuff. I have had worse professor but I wouldn't take her again.
She is the worst teacher at Bryant. I still cant believe Bryant hires such a bad professor. Everybody is failing the class, and still the ony thing she does in class is group discussions, and a midterm of 10chapters, when she hasnt teach any. Its a great way to throw your tuition money away in her class. If you want to learn something, dont take her
Shes not bad, if you do the readings youll do fine, shes young and kinda funny. Cute too
She was pretty awful at teaching the material and relied heavily on the charts and graphs in the book. She was not helpful at all for our project. would not recommend for someone to take
She teaches out of the book and reads straight off copy/paste ppt slides. Her 'tests' were copy-and-paste from the book, multiple choice. Wouldnt be bad if she didnt use this method to cover 11 chapters of material but only ask 25 questions- on a test worth 25% of your grade. Impressively stupid, lazy professor, I'm sad my tuition p
Personal Selling is a great class to take if you want to sell professionally. This class is designed to show you the ropes. Dr. Boyer is young, fun, and friendly. She holds the selling competition every year and it's a blast! Class is easy, assignments are easy, exams are tough, projects are fun. I recommend her to the fullest.
I took Dr. Boyer for personal selling and again for sales management. Got a good grade in personal selling, got even better grade in sales management. I recommend taking either of the two classes; Dr. Boyer is one of my favorites.
She didn't teach anything the entire semester, we did activities that taught us nothing and wasted time because she would rather do that then actually plan a lesson. The final project was doing her job for her, finding people to participate in her precious sales competition. The final exam was on everything she should have taught us about sales.
I took her Personal Selling class this past semester and I found what I wanted to do in life was sales. She taught us very practical techniques that helped me land several interviews and job offers. She knows what she is talking about and taking this seriously can land you a job.
She doesn't really teach. Just do connect assignments and study what she tells you for the tests. The final project isn't too bad just make sure you have people who will do some work and you should be fine
Life skills, lots of role playing and skill building exercises. Had her for Personal Selling and Sales Management and enjoyed both classes. If you pay attention and participate you'll do fine. She really helps students find jobs so come to class and speak to the company reps. She's the reason I'm employed post-grad. I'd recommend.
An extremely driven woman who only wants to see her students become successful individual. Her passion can be taken in the wrong light for people who are just looking to get by, but if you show her you're motivated then she will do everything she can to help you achieve your goals. If you're smart, you'll keep her as an asset outside of class too.
If you are going into sales after school, this class is a must. You learn so much about what it is like to be in the sales world and get constant sales executives coming in to speak to the class. Great way to make connections for after graduation, and Boyer is a great professor.
The course overall is not bad and she is a decent professor. You spend the first 6 weeks learning the sales process before doing the sales competition. The competition is pretty easy overall, but be sure to prep for it so you do not crumble on the spot. After that the course is pretty easy and she is a pretty easy grader. I would take this again.
Very simple course, just the usual show up, do online assignments and work on the group project.
Boyer's class is dead easy and good if you want to go into sales, as she's the sales prof too.
Hard to believe all of the poor reviews; I thought Boyer was a fantastic professor. She really cares about how everyone performs in the class and she is always available. The final for the class was very straightforward and if you practiced your presentations, you do very well in the class. If you want to pursue sales, take this class!!
Boyer is a fantastic professor. She cares about all of her students and wants them to do well. She is always available for help if you needed it. Exams are very straight forward if you practice the warm ups. Take her if you can!
Maybe shes better if you take an upper level but her intro class was a joke. If you want an easy A from a joke of a class that a monkey could teach then take this class. If you are a marketing major however and actually want to learn stay away.
Dr. Boyer is awful. She is pretentious, fake, and believes she deserved respect even though she can't be bothered to ever show up to class on time. She can't be bothered to teach either. Her class is super easy and does not require a lot of hard work, however I do not understand any of the good reviews on here because she has an awful personality.
I feel like I learned nothing in this class because nothing was taught. The assignments were all pretty much meaningless aside from the exams, which a good portion of the class seemed to do poorly on. It isnt difficult to do well in this class, but it also isnt a class that I would recommend anyone to take.
Professor Boyers class is like playing tag with a five year old. She just makes things up on the fly and gets upset when you cant understand the instructions. Needless to say, if you find yourself in her class, reevaluate your life choices.
as one person put it... great salesperson, terrible prof. no clear grading criteria whatsoever and there is never really a rigid class structure. has her sales team do a lot of the dirty work for her - they do most of the grades/extra help in the class. very easy to get lost in the class and you are always confused on what to do. take with caution
Boyer is like watching paint dry. The only good thing about her is her rack. Other than that best of luck. If you take her class expect to learn nothing.
Boyer is a nice person but a TERRIBLE professor. She makes you participate in multiple sales competitions- not for your benefit, but for hers. You will feel super unprepared and she will expect you to take 2 full days off to "compete". She rarely teaches anything during lectures and you will never know what's going on.
Many students say they don't like her class mostly because it's unorganized, but honestly, all the assignments are pretty easy and straightforward if u manage your time correctly. She is a great resource and is willing to meet on zoom late at night. It's an easy A if you are a organize student. highly rec her sales class b/c u make so many connect
Very unorganized class. She is really nice, but there was a lot of confusion among most of the class most of the semester. Clearly a really successful sales person, but not the best professor in my opinion. If there was more structure, it would benefit the class greatly.
Do not take this class unless you are planning on going into sales and love sales more than anything. Graded by your performance in one competition on a weekend and having repeatedly talked to a robot 150+ times. In-class activities are embarrassing at times. Directions are consistently unclear regarding grading/assignments. Never posts grades.
she is honestly an easy grader if you do the work. yes, she makes you take part in a artificial intelligence sales app to teach you the sales process in the marketing course but its such an easy A. people who complain are easy and don't put in work in the app. the app looks for key words and specific transition words for points.
Amazing professor and very smart.
I would definitely not recommend taking this class unless you are going into sales after graduation. Class time is completely pointless. She makes you do embarrassing class activities, records you, and posts it on social media. The books you buy and the app you use is all written/ developed by her- meaning she's making money off of everything.
Don't take if you are not a patient person. You have to talk to an AI robot for hours and hours and it would leave me unreasonably frustrated after. The app does not pick up on anything you say and grades based on specific phrases you say, not your actual ability to sell and do well like you could with a real person.
Do not take her. Just dont. You will regret it. Everything about the class is busywork and she expects you to dedicate your entire life to her class. Random sales calls outside of school/ class hours that you must go to. Attendance is taken every class. No one ever knows what is going on, lots of unnecessary confusion.
She would be a 5 but she didn't show up on the first day of class
Take her! Especially if you want to do sales!
She expects you to dedicate your whole life to this class and disregards if you are not able to spend hours outside her class to dedicate to her class. The class would be great if there was another professor. I learned nothing in this class. I only learned how to talk to a AI bot that is not helpful. If you do not need to take her class, don't.
The class consists of weekly online Mcgraw assignments and quizzes, exams, RNMKRS, and a project. The exams are a tad difficult when she doesn't give review sheets, but she scales them. RNMKRS is the ai bot other people are talking about and I barely did it and I'm still passing. She does a lot of zoom classes. There is also 3 required events.
The class consists of McGraw assignments, at-home quizzes, 3 exams, RNMKRS, and a project. The exams are a tad difficult but she does give review sheets, lets you have a note card, and scales them. If you're interested in sales/marketing TAKE HER!!!! She gives lots of extra credit opportunities! She is the best teacher! I highly recommend her!
She is amazing! Take her if you are interested in sales. She has great connections! Lots oof extra credit
Take her!!! Love her!!
At the beginning of the semester I thought this class would be hard, but if you put the work in and turn everything in on time it is not bad at all. There are plenty of extra credit opportunities and she curves the exams. She is difficult to get a hold of sometimes, but overall a very good professor who is very knowledgeable about what she does,
I took this course because I thought it would make my sales skills better and make me enjoy sales more. This class is so much more unnecessary work than any other class I've ever taken. The required roleplays take hours on end and have me contemplating dropping out of school. HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT TAKING THIS COURSE if you want to keep your sanity.
Limited space but I could write an essay on why not to take her classes. I took 363 and 463 in the same semester - do not do that it's a ridiculous amount of tedious work. They're great classes IF you want a STAFFING SALES job. I took these classes my last semester as a senior and I should have just taken music or gender studies.
At first, it seems like a lot of work (it is not tho), but there are no exams, and she is an easy grader. It is very hard not to get an A. A lot of real-world experience and opportunities to talk to employers.
Unorganized nightmare, impossible to tell what's going on. Comes off as fake and makes you buy her social media course that is required for a grade. Gives little clarity about syllabus and assignments and will use you for free labor at the sales competition. Would be a better class if ANYONE else taught it, I mean ANYONE.
No clue how she was named in the top 50 professors. Terrible, awful, brutal would be just a few words used to describe her class. The textbooks are all written by her so it is basically just to put money in her account.
Felt like the whole class was dedicated to the project because she cares so much about her class winning the competition. Because of this we barely learned and were unprepared for exams. Attendance was mandatory but going to class was a waste of time. Literally dedicated a class to bring in a comedian who force us to do embarrassing improv
All take home exams except the last one which we took together, she is a very nice person and super forgiving for her students. You can tell how much she loves to teach sales and marketing.
Dr. Boyer has many connections in the sales world. Through her classes, you learn how to sell yourself and products. She gives you a chance to have real-world experience and meet a ton of employers. Everyone in the sales world loves and respects her. If you are interested in sales or want to learn how to sell your sales take her class.
Very easy class
Very loose class structure. No directions for anything. Super cool person that wants you to get better at sales. introverts hate her until they get better at public speaking.
Have to do several sales competitions but she doesn't help you prepare at all. You don't learn how to sell to people you learn how to sell to a bot on an app. If I had a dime for the amount of times she said "AI" I would be rich
Liked her until I found out she has no real-world sales experience, only teaching. She's very kind, clearly passionate about sales, and wants you to succeed but we literally just talk to an AI bot the whole time to prepare for the competition. Also everyone in my class was constantly confused about guidelines and due dates.
She is terrible, this class teaches you nothing about sales except the basics you can look up online. Doesn't tell you the things you need to do to get a good grade, course instructions are unclear. Makes you compete in NISC (which isn't terrible) but she is not good at preparing you. RNMKRS is a terrible app as well and barely works.
Nice, but comes off as fake sometimes. I feel like for most of her projects I am literally doing her job for her. For example one project is recruiting more people to the NISC sales competition.
Do not take if you value your time and sanity. Unclear instructions on most assignments. She expects you to dedicate all your time to this class as if it is the only one you are taking. The sales competition you're forced to go to is a waste of time. Some parts of the class are just free labor for her and the competition. Do not recommend at all.
DO NOT TAKE "DR." BOYER AT ALL COSTS horrible teacher rarely goes over slides with any information on sales. Deepest we got was an overview of the sales process and STAR method. Everything else is her app "RNMKRS" which is horrible. She gives 0 guidance, 0 information on projects. Projects are just supporting her NISC event (her job)
If you value your sanity you won't take her. At first you might think its an easy class but be warned it is not. A lot of the projects you do in class are free labor for the sales competition. She also is very unorganized. Final project is 300 points where you have to recruit over 500 people to her sales competition - aka doing her job
Her whole class is fake, she did no teaching and we learned everything in sales ourselves, using HER app Rnmkrs then competed at HER sales event, and then for the final recruit people to come to HER sales event next year. Her whole class is just us doing work for HER EVENTS. I feel like all I've done is labor for HER and learned NOTHING about sales
Do not take her for personal selling, I learned nothing. AI runs her class, not her. What a joke.
Do NOT take this class! Sales is the worst class I have ever taken! And she is the worst professor! I find her slightly narcissistic and has very unrealistic assignments
Do not take her for personal selling
So much work for so little reward
SO MUCH WORK. AND ITS HER WORK. WHY ARE WE SENDING EMAILS FOR HER?
So much work and I wish I never took her class. So fake. So much work for final project that only benefits her.
2 Words. Boyer and Not Teaching. Must See TV.
0/5 Can't Rank her that low.
I've never disliked a teacher as much as her.
I've never worked harder for an A in my life. She needs to be moved to not teaching and solely in charge of the sales dept, i think that is what shes best at. Teaching is just not for her.
I've LOST dozen of hours of sleep, I've LOST my will to live, I've LOST hours of my life doing work. And I've LOST my will to live all because of Boyer.
Boyer more like "Boy her class is a lot of work"
Stefanie Boyer? Where do I begin? I've never hated a class as much as this. Ive never put in as much work as this, and never have been so confused about every assignment assigned. No class structure, no teaching abilities. Please never take her.
She needs to be fired. Nuff said.
She was very controlling, yet very vague in how she wanted to be controlling, if that makes sense. Her class was messy, very disorganized, she was not a good teacher, and overall, I was overwhelmed by her workload. Has the opportunity to be better though.
Please never take this professor, run away if you see her, don't even engage with her in the hallways, I swear she is crazy. Only cares about herself and her sales program, that we end up doing work for, so don't ever take a class with her, she ain't worth it.
I'd rather walk 5 miles on burning hot coals with a mix of lego bricks than take another class with Professor Boyer.
I've never felt more upset and disappointed with a teacher's ability to teach.
By FAR the worst Professor I've ever had at Bryant, and I've had Victoria Stedman, Kenneth Sousa, Moura Dowling, and Jennifer Mier, so I know a thing or two because I've seen a thing or two. What I can tell you is this: DO NOT TAKE PROFESSOR BOYER.
Can't believe I'm done with her class, I've never been more excited to never take her class and see her as a teacher again.
Professor Boyer has turned me into a violent alcoholic, because of how much work she assigns
Professor Boyer has taken years off my life, don't take her.
The class workload really isn't that much. Idk why so many people put a 5 on difficulty when they all got A's. The only thing I would say is if you aren't interested in sales or planning on going into it don't take the class. A lot of these bad ratings are students that took her class when they have zero interest in sales. Boyer is a fine professor
The work in this class wasn't exactly difficult but the sheer workload is absurd. Boyer seems to think her class is the only one students have. Everything you do is only to benefit her not yourself. She expects you to skip classes and call out of your job to go to her weekend long sales competition. Do not ever take her. Waste of a semester.
Defention of busy work in this class, emailing and managing 500 contacts isn't hard, but it is a lot of work. Didn't learn much about personal selling either.
Just finished her final today, thank God it's over.
Not worth your effort, feel like after all the work put in, I should have a 120% in her class when all I have is a 95%
Professor Boyer is a nice lady. She has no idea how to teach though. The entire class doesn't have the slightest clue of what's due and when. She's extremely vague. It's a cash crab, the entire class is a build up to the NISC competition and the rest is just being her mice and doing her work for her via outreach.
Honestly, Boyer should be in charge of the sales team and sales department, and should NOT be a teacher, no organization and not clear in what she's teaching, a passionate person who is clueless in what she's passionate about
Didn't round my 93.89 up to a 94. This is why I left her a 1 star rating, it would've been a 2 because she's a lot but just don't take her
Avoid Stefanie Boyer, her projects were so unnecessarily difficult, we had to email 500 contacts to recruit for her sales competition. That's literally her job and we're doing it for her???
Boyer didn't teach anything about selling this semester, she taught us through an AI bot on her app, does that mean I'm supposed to rate her bot? Because in my eyes she's not a professor. Either way her bot is a 1/5
Professor Boyer ran her class like it was prep for the NISC sales competition, we learned nothing and just did work for her, and made sure her event was ran well. She does not deserve to be a teacher here.
If you can, avoid her, her assignments are also difficult to follow, like half the time you won't know what to do, and the other half you'll be stressing out, don't take her if you value your time and sanity
You know it's bad when an AI chat bot taught more than the Professor for a class. And that's Boyer for you.
I'd rather go camping in the Serengeti Desert in 130° heat than take another class with her
Not a good professor
I'd rather take the SATs underwater than take another class with her.
Honestly id rate her a 0/5 but Rate My Professor doesn't go that low so a 1/5 will suffice.
To put her into Christmas terms: she's the Grinch
