Very knowledgeable professor. Relatively high standards for her students, ample reading assigned, but she only required 2 papers (you can take your pick of 2 out of 4).If you go to her w/? she will do her best to help you. Also you must take notes b/c she doesn't post them to bb. Several extra credit opportunties. If you like history, take her.

Mrs.Campbell is a great teacher. Make sure that you show that you are trying your best and you will get a good grade. There is no work in the class but the 2 Tests are hard.

I enjoyed Professior Campbells class. It helps when the instructor is into the subject they are teaching. I hope I can take the other class she teaches as a elective. She allows several opprotunites for extra credit and does review proir to here test's to include a handout.

I took her during summer and she's simply great. Clear thoughts and teaching. Hard grader. Exams are easy, I got A in both exams, but B in research paper which messed up my whole grade... She is young, but she knows the course very well. Take her.

Really good powerpoints, you have to be at every class. the midterm was kinda the only thing that was like "really?" gives u 50 terms and doesnt tell u which 8 of them will be on the exam.. but overall shes an easy going, understandable teacher.

Stephanie Campbell is the best professor I have had so far. She is extremely funny and pretty much knows everything about history of western civilization. She also responds relatively quickly to emails and helps you out when you ask. Great, great professor and I recommend her to anyone who is seeking an awesome professor.

Professor Campbell is an amazing teacher. She is one of the most effective and intelligent professors at NOVA. All of the other profs could learn from her. If you aren't a student who applies themselves I would not recommend her course because there is a lot of reading involved in her classes. She a great prof and will keep you interested.

Overall, the class isn't very hard. Make sure to speak up because class participation is 10% of the final grade. I usually don't enjoy history but her enthusiasm was helpful.

Mrs. Campbelll is a great professor. Class isn't mandatory but you WILL fail if you don't attend. Participate in class. Quizzes EVERY class so READ at least a day in advance. One essay the entire semester. Hardest midterm and final I've ever taken. All short answer. No multiple choice. But the study guide prepares you well and is given in advance.

Here's an honest review for Professor Campbell. I took her over the summer for an 8 week and damn did she move quick. My hand literally hurt because all she did was powerpoints, and make us copy notes. She did reading quizzes everyday, and there was only a Paper, Midterm, and Final. The midterm was near impossible so I dropped. Teaches effectively.

I took this class during the summer. There was a reading everyday and a reading quiz everyday. Her quizzes are easy as long as you skim the material. Be sure to read the background information along with the actual content. Tests are graded easy if you study. I studied by copying all of the notes again. Tests are written.

GREAT TEACHER, EXTEREMLY HARD CLASS, IF YOU ARE GOOD AT STUDYING AND HISTORY THEN TAKE IT, IF NOT IT'LL DROP YOUR GPA CONSIDERABLY. and yeah. BRICK SQUADDDDDDDD. also, pottery as an answer for her questions is a good way to get a good class participation grade.

She was a nice teacher thanks god she had extra credit because if not I would not had got the B+. If you are not trying to take a really hard class do not take her. She is a harsh grader test are overly hard and her essays were harder then any of my english classes. She is very nice if you like history I still probably wouldn't take her either

This class requires alot of work, but its not that difficult. If you do the readings, take time to study for the exams and rewrite your paper, you will do well. Her lectures are really interesting. Just wait for "goat licking" and you'll see what I mean. She's also super helpful if you meet with her. Campbell is awesome and you should take her!

I always hated history and thought it was boring before I took this class but Prof. Campbell's lectures are really interesting. This is the only class I looked forward to going to. I was actually sad when I had to miss her vikings lecture lol. Prof. Campbell is one of the best teachers at nova and I hope I can take other classes with her.

Professor Campbell was great, she would let you redo essays after she gave you back a very much critiqued version with as much info you may need to fix it. I've always liked history so I never had problems paying attention. She does have a sense of humor though which is always a plus.

I had a medical emergency and missed the final though i was passing the class. She stuck by me even after the semester ended to go to the head of dept and the dean to allow me to make up the final to pass the class. Very helpful! Alot of Extra credit options and easy assignments you should get an A without a problem.

This was a great class, although beware if you're looking for an easy A you won't find it here. It's very manageable as long as you have time management and there was an almost unbelievable amount of extra credit opportunities. Be prepared to work, but you'll walk away confident that you earned the grade you received.

Great teacher, she has a great passion for history and always keeps classes fun and entertaining. There are a lot of readings, but it is definitely manageable. Do all the work study for the mid term and final and youll get an A

This class was pretty difficult, but Prof. Campbell is very fair. There are no tricks. The study guides have everything you'll be tested on. The one paper is difficult but the re-write helps. She makes lectures as interesting as possible. She is great at responding to emails and is always nice. Take excellent notes, study, and do the extra credit!

A pretty tough grader but wants you to succeed and gives good advice. You can get away with not reading every week and still doing assignments, but you will eventually need to read it all for the exams when going over the study guide (follow it closely!). Numerous EC opportunities for you to raise your grade. She was friendly and helpful!

Professor Campbell knows a lot about history. She speaks well and is funny. Go to class, she doesn't put her powerpoints online. Exams are straight forward- make sure you follow her study guide. She is a tough grader for essays but will give you extra credit if you use the writing center. She has a lot of extra credit opportunities.

Her class was hard because I was talking 10 other credits. If I had taken her with other easy classes I could have done better. She lectures all class. Participation in class really counts, so if someone is shy, they better get ready to learn how to brush that aside. She's very witty and makes her lectures seem more fun and interesting. There's a small quiz online before every class. One big paper. Very smart lady.

This class is not an easy A, you have to work for it. She gives out tons of extra credit (DO IT ALL YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT) This class is work heavy and you always have assignments due. Her lectures are fairly interesting and participation matters! Final and Mid term are all based on memorization, she hands you a study guide so you should be fine.

I hated History all throughout High School and no joke her lectures made me love history! She told really interesting stories and I actually learned a lot and had a lot of fun in her class. Professor Campbell was my favorite professor this semester because her lectures are incredible, her humor fits perfectly, and she really made us work for that A. This is by no means an easy class; there's a quiz due every class, one paper, and two exams (she provides a study guide but exams are entirely memorization). Honestly she made it fun.

Professor Campbell is an okay professor. She grades incredibly slow. Not sure how I got an A because she a little on the tough side of grading. She provides thorough feedback on assignments. I never used the textbook and got an A.

I take her on mon and wed from 4-515pm. She is amazing! 100 points of just extra credit. Then a couple hundred more points of just easy open book quizzes at home. Final, Midterm, and Essay are 200 points each. 1000 point grading criteria. Midterm and essay are take home. Easy A, but you must put enough effort to act like you are in school.

Prof. Campbell turns history from dry to hilarious. She is very passionate about history and makes it funny! She does give a midterm and final, but she really prepares you for them. I honestly LOVED prof Cambell. Her lectures were lecture heavy but she really tried to make them as interesting and engaging as possible. She is a tough grader but she gives a lot of feedback and extra credit work to make up for lost points. She doesn't call anyone out during class and calls out the bad parts of history for what they are.

She is so nice! I loved her lectures and was never bored in class. Take very good notes as they will help with the midterm as it is an open note essay. Final is a take home group paper which was semi-annoying but not undoable. A semi-hard grader and 3 papers are most of your grade in this class but she gives a LOT of extra credit. Loved her!

I took a summer course with her and had to do a group project and read 2 books (on the shorter side). Despite that though I was able to manage and she gave great feedback on turned in work. I feel like she wasn't a tough grader. The assignments aren't hard too and each unit you get possible extra credit.

Before her class, I didn't enjoy history lectures. But she made them very interesting. Attendance is mandatory; if you miss four or more classes, your grade goes down a letter. In class, you are expected to put your phone and earbuds away. You should take notes it will help on midterm exam. There are a bunch of extra credit assignments every week.

she is one of the best professors I have had, she always makes her lectures enjoyable. you get all the information you need for the work in the lectures so take notes! the work is fairly easy but there is quite a bit of writing and lots of chances for extra credit. The final is a group paper of about 7-10 pages so if that's not your thing beware.

She is full of energy which helps you not fall asleep. There are sooooo many extra credit opportunities which help a lot. There will be a group essay at the end which can be tough, but for the most part, her class is manageable

I really liked Professor Campbell's course. Go to class because for every 4 unexcused averages, your final grade will drop by a letter. However, her lectures were great and the class was very interesting. The midterm was an in-class essay and the final was a group paper, so time management is really important. Great class, it's just not an easy A.

Professor Campbell's HIS101 class is engaging and manageable. Her lectures are entertaining, and attendance is mandatory, but there are plenty of extra credit opportunities. I found Unstuck study really helpful for study prep!

Very nice women I genuinely don't like history very much but she made the class fun she would go out her way to buy the class treats and stuff to demonstrate. She can be a bit of a harsh grader but if you just did the stuff she tells you to do and paid attention in class you would do just fine.

Given that the class must cover an entire civilization within 1.5 hours a week, she does a great job. Rather than glossing over an entire topic at once, she focuses on something specific that the class finds interesting. Two major groups projects and two major individual projects/papers. Multiple opportunities for extra credit.

I was originally worried about this class until I took it. IT WAS THE BESTT! She offers a full letter grade of extra credit and as long as you do it all you WILL pass. Make sure to stay on top of all of the online assignments and readings and it shouldn't be that difficult. Trust me and please take her and learn Chicago style !

HATE history but Professor Campbell makes the lectures enjoyable. Very approachable, kind, and keeps you interested while expanding on her notes. Only criticism would be very tough grading on essays, but is lenient on midterm & finals. She also respects her students with MOAs and isn't harsh on students with mental/psychological disabilities.
