Foley is young, hip, bright, and very, very organized; she has the teaching of this course down to a science. This is a survey course, covering a lot of material, but Foley manages to make most of it interesting and provocative.

Was very easy, just read and study notes from bookstore and you can make an easy grade, studied only 1 hour for each test and never read the book and still made a "B", you will like her.

One of the Best teachers I have had at SMC!!! Her quizzes are based on lecture notes (which you can buy) and book facts. Made the class room a fun upbeat learning environment. She's hip and sweet! You will not be sorry if you take her class!

Not TOO easy. must study the lecture notes(u can get it at the bookstore). its better to listen to the lectures cuz you'll do better on tests. don't have to take notes in class. she takes attendance but isn't too anal about it. about 2 video questions on each test. interesting class. recommend taking it :)

I have no idea how I managed to get an A from this class, but even if I got a B, it wouldn't have changed my opinion on The Goddess. It's true- she is amazing. I imagine many people are intimidated because of her looks, but her class made a huge impression on me. Give Ms. Foley a shot. The only truly tough lessons are over with in Chapter 3 anyway.

Her class is pretty interesting and really easy. You don't even have to buy the book to pass with an A. Just study the notes she gives you and you will be perfectly fine. Fianlly, she resembles Reese Witherspoon A LOT.

She makes the material interesting. She is very clear when going over material in the book or from her note packet, but also adds her own touch. If you study the notes and show up to class, getting a good grade shouldn't be hard.

I took her for psych this fall and I can honestly say It is one of the most interesting classes I've taken. It's the type of class you look forward going to. No H.W..but do study her class notes are a huge help txt book reading is very minimal. She can be tough dont expect a break if you slack off..There is no extra credit!

Great professor, I really enjoyed this class. Class was well laid out and organized. Didn't really need the textbook. Tests are a little challenging, but she gives you everything that will be on the test in the study guide. Get the study guide and know it inside and out. Only bonus pts are two on each test and final.

I took this professor over the winter semester and Foley is an easy A. No Homework, only tests that are seriously easy! The study guide is all you really need and the textbook should just be used to clarify any key points from the study guide. Her lectures are very clear with a touch of humor. No HW, no papers, only 3 exams and a final. No need to take notes, just buy the study packet. Most importantly, know the exam study guides inside and out to get an A on her exams (flashcards are great). It was fairly easy, but class could have been more itneresting. Recommended for a quick and fairly painless 3 credits...

STUDY STUDY STUDY HER NOTES AND YOU WILL GET AN A! Her exam questions come directly from her notes (which are sold in the bookstore) so you have no excuse for getting a bad grade in that class. Four exams (no make ups), no homework, and you actually learn! I def. would take her again

She's a good professor, but not an "easy" class. Pay attention, study her notes and you will do well. 3 exams and 1 cumulative final, no extra credit, no homework or papers to write. Uses overhead projector while lecturing, so you don't have to scramble to get everything down, or you can buy her lecture notes at the student store for a few dollars.

I love the fact there weren't any quizes/essays. Just 4 straight forward multiple choices tests. Plus no points for attendance. For the first time in SMC history I felt like I'm a mature person not some high school kid who must obey the rules. I just wish this class was in other building b/c MC8 sucks! I feel like we're in some 3rd world country.

Stephanie Foley was my first psychology teacher (psych 1) and she she has set the teaching standard. At some points the material became quite challenging but she went over it as many times as needed and her diagrams and notes made everything crystal clear. Eventually i stopped using the textbook and relied on her book of companion notes

One of my favorite professors at SMC! She is really nice and has a good sense of humor. Psych 2 can be intimidating but if you read the book and download her class notes you'll be fine. Oh, did I mention that you get to use cheat sheets on the exams...?

super easy class. she writes out the notes for the whole semester. no homework. reading from the book isnt mandatory. has the cutest little personality. shes darling. take her, youll love her

Very good lecturer, clear, not boring at all. Too bad there isn't much sharing done between her and her students. Otherwise, easy tests as long as you study your notes and use the study guide. The book will only come handy for clarification but is not necessary at all in my opinion

Dont buy the book it is not necessary everything you need is in her class notes package. test aredirrectly out of the notes. Great class if you need an easy general ed. No homework grade is beased on 4 test and thats it. The only effort needed is to show up for class and study the day before the test.

Foley is great. She is very clear in her lectures and will clarify anything if you ask. She has to be one of the best teachers at smc. She blends a nice easy going personality with distinct idea of what she wants from students. Take good notes and study hard for the tests. Has a prepared packet of notes for the semester,a lot of info to absorb.

I highly recommend Prof Foley. I took her for psych 1 and psych 2. Her lectures are organized and interesting and she relates the material well to everyday things. She will always answer questions and even knows students names. A lot of info to remember but she lets students use a 1/2 page cheat sheet for exams. One of the best teacher's!

Physiological psych is intimidating at first, but the way Foley teaches it makes it accessible, easy to understand, and fun! You can use a half pg of notes too for the exams, but there is no extra credit except for a couple questions on the exams. Study her packet carefully and listen to her lectures attentively and you'll pass with at least a 'B.'

Foley is one of the best teachers at Santa Monica College. You have to study for her tests if you want to do well. She is very helpful and will answer all questions. A great teacher and a enjoyable class.

Best teacher ever! Super nice and friendly and easygoing. Definitely worth taking. No essays or quizzes, just 4 tests and a final. Has notes (including study guides) prepared on eCompanion so all you have to do it print them out. You don't have to go to class, but it's really fun, so no reason not to. One of my favorite classes in SMC she's funny, interesting, and an over all great teacher. Quite a lot of discussions in class and her demeanor really encourages speaking up (even though I'm shy). Tests entirely on lecture notes (which really help learn the subject). Just go to class and listen and study notes you'll do great!

It's been like 5 years since I graduated but I remember really liking this class. My psych class was a lot better than my friends' at UCLA because of class size and teaching style.

Professor Foley is an awesome professor who grades fairly. Four tests throughout the semester based on reading from textbook that she provides, lectures (attendance is mandatory), and videos. She makes the lectures interesting and she is really funny. Her class is not hard just have to read and pay attention in class, I would take her again.
