scatterbrained, but nice.
I will admit Golski does have her PMS days and she can be a LITTLE bit into herself, but she's not as bad as ppl crack her up 2 be. If you do your 50% and work your booty off, you'll be okay.
She doesnt teach this class, you the student does. Offers no help at all, forgets that your an undergrad. Annoying and fails ya if you question her.
Dr. Golski is a jerk. She is my advisor as well as my teacher for biopsych and she offers no help at all. If you ask her a question she belittles you in front of the class for not knowing the answer. She is not a good teacher.
Great teacher and really cool... Golski's very amazing, I have developed a rapport with her. Knows her stuff. Had her for stats, s & p, cognitive neuroscience, next semester for d & hb. Thank you lots! :-)
You have to take stats. Take it with her. Her tests are fair, she takes the time to review the material very very well. She is crystal clear on what is being taught, funny woman too. She makes boring stuff fun and intresting.
Tests for Stat are soo hard! She doesnt teach, you teach yourself. Slides make no sense. Nice lady but bad teacher!!!
Advisor as well as prof, not helpful at all. This is the 2nd semester that I've come to her for help with course selection - she just brushes you off and gives you as little time as poss. Class structure is all over the place, hard to keep track of what she wants you to do. Just don't take her.

Really terrible teacher. Does not help with any questions and is on a power trip. Shares your grades with others in the class. Do not take her even if you are desperate. Can't teach to save her life.
Great teacher! She treats students like individuals, not numbers. If you are not an independent thinker, you will have problems with her, as she challenges students to see beyond prescribed knowledge
She picks her favorites (normally her biopsych students she's had before). Never hands back papers, or exams grades on time. She's really lazy!!! Does absolutely no teaching! She's cool when she wants to be. Either you love her or hate her (as a teacher).
Tests are hard, she has a really blunt sense of humor-it's not personal-it's just the way she is. Really knowledgable, sometimes talks over your head. And you actually have to read the book, so study Hard!

she's confusing...but will try to help you along. teaching is not her first job either...she's a massage therapist too. She'll kinda remind you of Pheobe from friends.
I thought the class was hard and estimated I would get a C but the in class assigments seemed to jack up my grade to a B. She is nice for the most part and usually fun.
Take her class if you wanna know what it's like being in the 3rd grade. She is the worst professor ever. Instead of teaching she makes you do stupid activites to take up time, and if you try to ask her a question, she is extremely condescending. Avoid her classes because they are a waste of time and money.
Well if you are a psychology major this class should be a walk in the park for you, however if she gets word that you are a biopsych major run the other way. Extremely biased towards the biopsych majors and comes up with the most ridicolous rules in terms of grading. Should not be teaching at the college level.
good person, horrible professor. very unorganized, never hands anything back, lectures don't pertain to material, and usually class assignments don't either. she's a very interesting person, but a completely frustrating professor. the more classes you take with her the more frustrating she gets.
I love her! I have her for 2 classes this semester. She's so fun, and always staops to get questions. She'll spend a long time answering if you still don't get it. She wants you to do well.
This is my second time having her for a class and she is just as awesome. The middle chunk project we have to do gets a little over whelming at times, but she is always there to help or give an idea. She is great...and she has dredlocks!!!
very nice woman, and very personable and approachable yet very difficult. exams are very hard. she gives group quizzes which arent for everyone, and really WERE NOT for me. i did not enjoy this class. i also do not recommend taking her
Ugh! Not my favorite class.. I found her to be confusing. WAY TO OOO MUCH WORK! Lectures were confusing, too much information given in powerpoint slides, yet I never felt like they were helpful when preping for test. She is a nice lady but stay on her good side. Take her but your going to be working hard to get a decent grade!
awesome
DONT TAKE HER KIDS!!! she is not helpful, came in late for every class. if you try to ask her a question she gives an attitude.
She is very impatient when you don't understand something.

I've taken Golski for stat, drugs & human behavior, and biopsy and I ADORE her. She's always been super helpful and gone out of her way to give me a hand. I guess can see how she (and group testing heh) might not be for everyone, though. She's not easy, but she IS fair! If you follow her guidelines for studying and go to class, you'll get an A.
Golski is great, very interesting, always knows everything, and can get you into material. she is helpful and offers extra credit for completing surveys. lets you drop lowest tests and quizzes and other. work can be difficult but you get out what you put in.
Do they do background checks anymore. Seriously! She is the worst teacher I have ever had and has quite a bad (naughty) reputation that has nothing to do with her teaching. She is vulgar in one-on-one discussion. If you have her as your advisor don't expect her to help you. I advise finding a new advisor pronto.
I loved the whole class, but it was hard and I struggled. I am a studious student and it was hard. I got a C and usually I do not get them. She always tried to help me and was able to drop my lowest tests/quizzes which helped and doing surveys for extra credit helped.
She is a great professor, makes lectures fun with interesting examples you can relate to. She'll make you work, but you'll actually learn something. She respects her students too. Taken lots of classes with her, never disappointed.
Golski knows what she's doing, and will help you if you seek her out. However, she can be hard to follow sometimes and can have a short temper for people who don't learn the same way she does. Go to class. If you miss one, you'll be sorry. Ask questions, she values participation a lot. homework isn't checked, but if you don't do it, you feel it.
Golski is a great teacher. you go to class & pay attention you'll do well. For each type of assignment you can either skip one or drop your lowest grade. she always asks if people have questions and encourages them. she also honestly cares about her students, how they are doing and making sure they have plans after school. i'm taking her again
Great class! Learned a LOT of material. Expect to actually work in this class. Many assignments. Fun topic and professor is keeps class exciting and interesting.
i took her for a 300 level course and hated her. she is nasty and picks favorites. if your not one of them your out of luck. if you pay attention and review notes you pass, but dont expect her to be understanding or helpful because she is VERY unfriendly and not nice AT ALL!
Her teaching, her Blackboard posts, and her slides were disorganized and often incomprehensible. Her slide backgrounds (not art class!!)often obscured the material. She was rude to students (one in particular), resisted answering questions, and was generally unpleasant. Much class time was wasted, so we had to skip a lot of valuable material.
Dr Golski taught this 300 level course extremely well. Very thorough syllabus, including details for all assignments given a month before class began; ideal for CCS/working student. VERY good (and fast) communication, fairest grading I've ever seen. She sets students up for success- only total slackers don't do well and complain.
Had her for Sensation and Perception, the course is set up for success of the students, slackers alone will fail. She is very open to questions, & willing to help students understand. She seems rough but she's not. She loves this field. This is not a "Bird course", you work for your grade and she will help as much as possible. Love Golski's class
I had Dr. Golski for three different classes. She has a very organized style of teaching and really goes into depth on a few topics rather than try to finish all of the chapters in the textbook. The many assignments help you learn the info and assist your grade, but if you are going to speak in class make sure you know what you're talking about!
Biopsych -- I wouldn't recommend her at all. Slides are sooo confusing, you can NEVER find definitions for vocab words, NEVER hands back papers or quizzes on time, and can just be a real RUDE person in general when you talk one-on-one. She teaches this class like it's a 300 level too. Do NOT take her!
Dr. Golski is pretty fantastic. Do not by any means expect her class to be easy because it is by far the hardest class I have taken at Rider, BUT she really knows her stuff. Definitely have to read the book and even though attendance isn't mandatory, if you don't go you miss a ton of information. She's really sarcastic but awesome.
I had Golski for research psych and she is awesomee!!! her tests are pretty hard, but she has open note quizes. plus you get points for just doing homework. she is really good at teaching and got me interested in the subject. I plan on taking her classes more.
The worse teacher at Rider University, I beg of you, DONT TAKE HER! She expects the book to teach you and when you ask questions you will get a sarcastic response. Just avoid taking her!!!
i actually really enjoyed dr. golski's class. you have to do a lot of reading but she gives you open note reading quizzes so as long as you read and take notes you can ace. she lets you create a "cheat sheet" for all the tests so thats really helpful and i'd say her tests were really fair. she includes extra credit questions in the test.
She is a very nice lady, and she cares. She's funny and knows what she's talking about when it comes to the subject. Her exams are a bit hard, and she lets you have a cheat sheet for the quizzes. You have to read the book to understand.
She is the worst stat teacher. She always talks in circles and never clearly explains the lesson. She expects you to teach yourself everything and acts as if you are lazy if you don't. Every time you ask her a question she gives you sarcastic remark and doesn't answer your question. DONT TAKE HER...at least not for stat.
Difficult class but it's a difficult subject. She does want you to do well. Don't miss a class, otherwise you might have to catch up with a tutor or meet in her office to help review. Tests are hard, be prepared to study alot and you will do well. She gives extra-credit don't miss that opportunity. She's funny and makes class interesting.
Dr. Golski is by far one of the best professors I've had in my entire experience with higher education. She can seem intimidating in that she expects you to actually learn the material rather than just study it, but as long as you abide by a semi-rigorous regimen in your work, you should do well in her class and find yourself wanting to learn more.
Dr. Golski is one of my favorite professors at Rider! The class is interesting but challenging. She makes you learn the material, not jut read it. If you want to get something out of a class besides just a grade, take her! If not, go elsewhere. Papers are on the easy side, exams were challenging.
She was an amazing teacher. She threw a lot of assignments and information at us, but in that she made it really easy to learn and almost impossible to not keep up with the work. He classes are difficult to do perfect in but almost impossible to fail or get less than a B
Golski is extremely intelligent and discusses very engaging topics; however, she is not much of a people person. She doesn't like questions to be asked, but will end up answering it in the long run. I loved the material being taught, but she expects way too much compared to what she teaches. She's an extremely tough grader as well.
I loved Professor Golski. You have to pay attention in class and don't be afraid to ask questions, she prefers people who communicate with her during lectures. If you miss a class though, you are going to be put in a tough spot. Attendance is not graded but she gives homework, reading responses, and random grades for class work often so don't skip.
She is a good professor who I would take again. She goes into long rants sometimes when a question is asked, but always answered and applied a lot of course related vocab to the question. She loves being asked questions and is a fair professor. She gives her classroom a positive vibe and loves what she does.
You will get these quizzes that are 11-13 questions multiple choice and short answer and only have 15 minutes to complete it, which means if you don't know you fail. She gives homework for everyday. You better do the group projects fast because you will fail. She doesn't make you buy a textbook, but you will have other things to buy for the course.
Worst class I have ever taken. Was online and during the summer, so very condensed. Of the 6 weeks of modules that were in the syllabus, only 4 were assigned. Assignments were opened late, and due dates were constantly rearranged last minute. She rarely would answer emails, and when she did responses were rude. Never got a grade back on anything.
Absolutely worst class & prof ever. Took online for summer & holy goodness. What a disorganized disaster. Syllabus is like reading something from ancient times with no clear directions. Her work is the hardest thing you'll ever do. She's terrible at emails & explaining. Group projects SUCK and she's in love with google docs. Such a frustrating mess
Despite what a lot of people say Golski is really cool. At first I was frustrated, but then I went and talked to her in person and really felt a lot better. She is a bit kooky, but really cool and keeps it real. So my big suggestion would be to GO TO OFFICE HOURS, they will really help you like and she's willing to chill and talk.
AWFUL. This is an online class, some of us took this because we have 5+ classes, children, full-time jobs. Initial info wasn't made available until 3 days after school started. Then two weeks we are waiting around because no assignments are posted. Then! Posts HW but only gives us a few days to complete. HORRIBLE organization. She gets an F.
I have had her for both online and in person. I definitely recommend taking her in person. Online is very unclear and confusing. In person she is very helpful and makes sure you understand material. Is a character but ultimately cares about her students.
She doesn't know how to teach and just goes on rants about random stuff
This is the most unorganized teacher I have had. There is no set schedule for assignments. No order to the syllabus. Her online sections are a total mess. Avoid her if possible.
Golski is the worst. She does not respect her job or her students, shows up late every day, cancels class, rambles about nothing during lecture, then gives an unrelated exam. If you have taken her once, you know the extent of her knowledge and could probably teach her course. She is unclear, extremely disorganized and frankly lazy. waste of time.
half of the time you would not understand what she is saying . her lectures are horrible. worst professor ever. assigns weekly essays and never grades things on time. don't waste your time.
the worst professor ive ever had, dont understand how she still has a damn job after the way she treated myself and other students. disgusting
DrGolski is a nice lady but her classes are extremely frustrating. She is very unorganized and even the week after finals she put less than half my grades in. She never gives feedback which becomes very annoying. I had two finals with one assigned the weekend after finals week along with multiple other assignments. Overall the class was aggravating
I hate stats, it took me three times to get through it. I would have much rather been in person for class, but the pandemic had other ideas. When I say, the struggle was real, it was. However, I took the time, I did the work, I attended EVERY session and I asked a LOT of questions. All this while working full time and managing a household.
Gives out tests without teaching the material. Completely disorganized. Test answers that were correct were graded as wrong and would not explain why. Very unclear with instructions when it comes to assignments. Definitely would not take a class of hers again.
One of the worst professors at Rider. She's very knowledgeable, but her class has no structure and she's all over the place. Uses heavy jargon and makes you figure it out yourself. A lot of pop quizzes. Silly group work and even does group work on tests which is ridiculous. Her bad reputation is correct, im never taking her again.
She is the worst professor i had ever had. I struggled a lot in her class. I reached out to her and she was very passive aggressive especially if i had a question. I tried to meet with her to talk about my performance and all she did was eat her lunch and explain to me that this is a $3,000 class you should try and learn something. Never again!!!
This class is ridiculous. I had to go to tutoring over three times a week in order to get a decent grade in her class. You have to be so specific with your answers or she will just take points off just because. A bunch of my friends didnt pass her class and have to take her again. I took organic chemistry and I thought this class was harder.
Worst professor I had at Rider, i never leave ratings but do not take her. If you ask a question she will make it seem like you are dumb and is condescending towards her students. The lecturing is awful and so confusing, its unbearable. Had to withdraw last semester from her class.
Extremely difficult. Online classes were made for people who may have more complicated lives: full time work, kids, and/or families. Golski never explains anything; simply states to review the information again. You can't see the workload ahead of time; she crams a lot of information into short times. Does not grade using canvas. Drop her.
AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. She is the rudest and cruel professor I have ever witnessed firsthand. Does not explain anything unless you want to be humiliated and degraded first hand, avoid her. Gives pop quizzes on things that she has not yet teached, gives no care for her students, terrible.
Most scatterbrained professor I have ever witnessed in my life. Does not teach anything, is very broad, has worse slides in history, tries to intimidate her students, and does not help with absolutely anything. Picks favorites and if you are not one of them, good luck. Gives pop quizzes on topics we haven't even learned. Worst teacher in history
Her poor reputation is correct. Not sure how she has good ratings but she is so lost on teaching. Has no idea what shes talking about and if you question her on something, immediately tries to target or segregate you. Her slides are confusing and broad, her lectures are her ranting about her home life over and over again. No compassion or respect
A lot of students report her for her disrespect and racist remarks. Apparently, she has stated some racist remarks in her class that I wasn't there for that day, and I'm not sure how she manages to still have her job, but God she is so lost and scattered on her work and lectures. She is very rude and makes snide remarks in her class to students
How she has her job? not sure. But there is an ongoing investigation into her racist remarks that were stated in the other classes she teaches. I'm pretty sure its because numerous students reported her over the past 15 years. Hopefully she gets what she deserves, to be fired. She by far is the most hated professor in the psych department at rider
Praying she gets fired she needs a reality check if she thinks shes a good professor.
Hello, this is the future you, read this: AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS. she will not teach you anything and expects you to do the learning yourself. Her teaching method is irrelevant and the "good reviews" she has, is someone that are paid to give her them. Trust me, she is not a good professor for the life of her. 350 words don't describe how bad she is
Disorganized, scrambled, and rushed, talks about her kids, her home, and nothing related to the course. She expects way too much out of her students. I don't think there are enough characters for how terrible of a professor, if you could call her that. Let me tell you, I have no words for how her class is. Im speechless how she treats her students
Honestly, she is probably one of the most disorganized professors I've ever had. Her teaching style is all over the place, her slides are messy, and although she often encourages you to ask questions, she can be really condescending when you do. I would not recommend taking her if you can avoid it.
IF U ARE A FRESHMAN AND HAVE HER FOR PSY 100 DROP IT AND TAKE IT WITH ANOTHER PROFESSOR, LISTEN TO ME
DONT DO IT! All the reviews are right. She doesnt care about you, DONT take it in the summer unless you are prepared to spend her required minimum of 18 hours a week solely doing her class. She is ridiculous and very condescending. She doesnt tell you whats wrong or right on your quizzes and tests or give you the correct answers.
She is the worst professor at Rider. She does not care about you and she is so disorganized. She singles certain people out and makes you feel embarrassed. She also wore a t shirt with a middle finger on it to class. DO NOT TAKE HER AND IF YOU HAVE HER GOOD LUCK!!!
Awful, plays favorites for certain people. You will get virutally nothing out of her lectures as all she talks about are her kids and even her divorce. Give so many articles to read and TedTalks to watch and goes over virtually none of them. Only redeeming part of her class is that some of her tests she allows you to take twice.
She was very absent during much of our class. We worked at our tables in groups on the school laptops for almost everything. When I had difficulties I did not feel her explanations were very helpful nor did I feel like she cared much about my asking for support. She was 'extra friendly' with certain students and less than helpful to others.
Awful. No clear grading criteria. No clear expectations set. Tons of pointless busy work group discussion posts. Her slides are disorganized and her pre-recorded lectures aren't helpful. She introduces new concepts without context and you will have to make sense of what she's saying. When asking a question her response will be "go to slide xx".
It is hard to describe how frustrating it was to sit in her classes and listen to her talk about her children, dogs, or whatever other arbitrary topic she was on. I did not feel like I was learning during class time, which is more disappointing since it was a class and a lab. I avoid taking her again because I do not want to teach myself.
Extremely rude and condescending. Makes Rider look bad on a whole other level.
Very bad at teaching. Slides are loaded with terms that have no definitions next to them, and she essentially expects you to essentially teach terms to yourself. On top of her poor teaching philosophy, she assigns an abundance of homework since it "activates your synapses" to help you learn, though she never really explained the concepts well.
Golski is huge on not using phones in the classroom. Normally I'd say that's a reasonable rule, except her lectures are barely about psych, and make little to no sense. You'd learn more taking a lecture from a rock than from her. Her homework is long and confusing with little to no explanation, she doesn't explain her slides, and is quite selfish.
This woman drained the life out of me. She took all the hopes I had of graduating and destroyed them. She's rude, she barely teaches, her quizzes make no sense, I couldn't handle her and ultimately dropped out of the entire school, because she was my advisor. When I asked for help she said I was "like speaking to a wall." There was no escape.
Don't take this professor ever!! Her class was honestly the only one that I have ever dreaded going to. She would bad mouth other professors. If you asked for help or asked questions about grades she will be super condescending and wants "content based questions" instead. She also didn't put in grades assignments for my final grade. Not very nice.
Hard to understand, doesn't answer direct questions when asked, and is very unorganized. I spent so much time outside of class teaching myself the content. A lot of the content she would mention in class wouldn't even be included on exams, and then random vocabulary or content would be there. She's relatively nice, but avoid her classes if you can.
She is not organized, doesn't make sure links work/ lead to the right thing, and makes you do so much work for barely any points.
She's very tough grader. She also creates her own techniques on assignments so you have to follow how she does it or it will be graded incorrect. The class is already stressful and she just adds more stress with the high expectations and heavy grading.
I rarely understood what was happening in the lectures, any learning from this class came from outside of class. Very specific about the wording of things in assignments, but she posts the lectures online so that helps a bit with reviewing. You have two attempts for each exam, which are online, so those are never too difficult.
