this professor is the best, i have been in her class for a month but she is great, i have 2 different classes with her and she is amazing. she is easy to understand and very helpful, she is sweat and cute, you will love her. Yes, you have to do your homework and read before class, SHE IS GREAT!!!!!!!
I had her for skills and Health Assessment. She is a wonderful teacher. She wants you to learn, she will help you as much as she can.
SHE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!! YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH HER. SHE IS VERY CLEAR AND STRAIGHT FORWARD ABOUT EVERYTHING, REALLY HELPFUL... SHE'S ONLY THERE TO TEACH AND HELP OTHERS GET AHEAD IN LIFE. EVERYTHING A PERSON NEEDS TO BE A "REAL" TEACHER. SUPER A+ FOR HER
Dr. Hannah is a GREAT teacher. She is very sincere when you need a professor with a heart. I had her for med-sugr clinical. Very knowlegable of subject and knows how to talk to you as a human. Take her and you will learn alot. But watch out, she is always walking around, don't fear whenever you need help and guidance she is there. Wonderful person
She is the best professor ever, she has the true hard of a nurse. Smart, clear, a the best instructor for clinicals!!!!
The best professor for skills classes. She is interesteted that you learn but you have to work to pass in her class. Just practice and do as she says and you will have perfect nursing basic skills. Thanks Dr.Hanna!
If you want to actually enjoy a clinical experience. Please take this teacher. She will have you learn all aspects of nursing. Everything you need for a patient you will know where to find. She is A plus teacher with a true teaching heart. And be warned please be where your suppose to be at all times because she will find you she is that GOOD!!!!
Took Dr. Hanna for Fund. Skills. She is superb as a teacher, a person, she wants you to succeed. This lady knows her stuff. She is caring, undertanding and wants you to be a great nurse. You are very lucky if you get her.
Dr Hanna is the best teacher MDC medical School has never had. She knows what she is doing. She is really helpful. She is a real teacher. I recommend anyone to get her as a teacher for whatever classes.
OMG this is the best professor ever. Dr. Hanna is an amazing professor!I had her for skills lab and clinicals and I learned so much in both classes. If there is a nurse in you she will pull it out of you. Wherever you see her take her class she is the BEST!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE HER.
Her test are so hard that you want to cry. Her lectures and slides will not help on the test. Her lectures are pointless and she always talks about her stupid PHD !!! READ THE BOOK FROM FRONT TO BACK AND PRAY. If want to experience hell on earth take her!!!.. NUR1025 LECTURE(3 CREDITS)...AVOID
Had her for lecture and she is horrible. Her test are harder than the ATI and NCLEX exam put together. Don't waste your time recording the lectures or reading the slides because they will not help on the test. She doesn't care if you fail. Read everything in the book. She is full time faulty and teaches all first semester classes.I PRAY SHE LEAVES.
Skills: She can be sarcastic, impatient, and intimidating. She tells different students different information which creates confusion. This professor, however, does want to create great nursing students but I'm not sure that she goes about it in the correct manner. I can't tell if she's intentionally trying to give us thick skin or is just cold.
ok people, seriously this is nursing school. Do you actually believe that it would be easy? Prof Hanna makes it easy for everyone to understand, she grades fairly and if you study you will get an A. Just remember that at the end of the day you're going to be taking care of real people not manikins. I suggest that you just study and don't look for s
For lecture read the chapters before class. Buy the fndmntls success book, practice the cd qstns, record the lecture and listen back, find qstns online and just cross your fingers. There were times where she had a repulsive attitude but don't let her get to you.
Terrible. The objectives are not stated, powerpoints do not match lectures, she gives a review and does the opposite, does not care to help students, outright rude to students. Run the other dirrection.
NUR1025 LECTURE: she is not a good teacher. Her lecture and power point will not help you for the test. Sad part these nursing teachers are cold as ice and miserable women that get enjoyment seeing you stressed out. They talk about how we need to be nurturing to our patients and they not nurturing towards their students.
THE LAST THREE COMMENTS ARE REALLY FULL OF INCONSISTENCIES.HOW CAN ANYONE SAY THAT Dr.HANNA IS COLD AS ICE & A MISERABLE WOMAN THAT ENJOY SEEING YOU STRESSED?SHE IS NOT ONLY A GREAT PERSON BUT ALSO SHE IS ONE OF THE BEST PROFESSOR OF THE MEDICAL CAMPUS.SHE IS WILLING TO HELP YOU ALL THE TIME,AND SHE IS VERY CARE ABOUT HER STUDENTS'PROGRESS. AA+
This lady is a terrible professor. Her lecture class is a waste of time, because it does not prepare you for the test. Bring a pillow to lay your head down and headphones to block out her worthless boring lectures. You don't need worthless information to take up space in your head.
Fund. is not easy. It is base on critical thinking, application questions; someone can't expect to find the answers straight from her powerpoint; you must read the book. Prof. Hanna is one of the best at MDC; she is crystal clear, I took great pleasure attending her class. She's compassionate, and do her best to make the next the next test easyer.
I was wrong. At first I did not like Dr. Hanna because I thought she was too hard, but she isn't hard if you are prepared for the class. As the semester went on I became more prepared and understood more. You have to read the chapters, but she will emphasize the chapters that are most important and you can get away with only reading those.Study
great prof. I love her. she made NUR1025 easy. before each exam she gave a review and every questions that she went over appeared 6n the exam. fundamentalsis not easy you have to study.
I had Prof. Hanna for Nur1025 & Nur1060C and she is one of the best professor i've ever had. People think these nursing courses is a cake walk, and blame the professor when they fail. U must study if u want a good grade. SHE'S REALLY A GOOD PROFESSOR AND CANT TRUST MOST OF THESE NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT HER. I got an A in both Nur1060 & Nur1025
This is a great professor who shows her true love for the profession. Whoever thought nursing school would be easy should re-consider careers. Dr Hanna treats everyone with respect and goes out of her way to explain concepts if needed. She goes by the book, and makes everything crystal clear. She's a very sweet lady. (skills lab)
I had her for skills and she was very helpful and sweet. If you didn't understand something, she was willing to repeat herself a few times. She is very strict during her exams but don't let that faze you, she just wants to help. I recommended her!
I just took this class she is a horrible professor not even half of the class pass..... She doesn't like to teach she likes to do group work which you basically read out of the book and you have to teach everything ur self at home her test are nothing to do with what is in her power point cause she doesn't teach at all
Dr Hanna is a very good choice for skills but a very bad choice for fundamentals. I got a B in her class and i know nursing is not a walk in the park. Specially FUND. but this lady does not teach, she reads the power points and thats it. I really did not know u needed a PHD to read power points.I would not recommend her for fundamental.
1st semester I took her for 3 classes and this 2nd sem at have her for 3 more classes. She is very good at skills and ok in clinicals. If u want to know how to write care plan take her for clinicals but if u do not want to clean up S... Don't do it. For Fund and MedSurg run away from her. Read two comments before 100%agree with them.
This professor is good for clinicals, I highly recommend her for that. Now, for lectures it is another story. I agree with the comment below. She does not teach, she just read the power points. Some test questions are not even from the chapters that correspond. You need to read the book in order to pass the class.
She uses questions from the bank that doesn't always match up with what she lectures on. She's much better for Skills. Great personality, very nice and does relate class to real life. She's tough.
She is a beautiful person. I took her for Fundamentals and now for Med surg. She is very knowledgeable and makes a difficult course seems easy! Definitely a great professor.
She doesn't make her own powerpoints, she tests from the bank. For the last half of the semester she didn't teach, she had the students present the material. She will give you no hint as to what's on the final, none what so ever. Some of the things on the syllabus you aren't tested on and things not on the syllabus you will be tested on.
Not bad but she is though but with fundamentals there's not really a way to study, just read that big thick book and good luck. I wish she would do more reviews for exams, she is not bad but kind of scared to take her again.
AMAZING PROFESSOR ! I HAD TO RETAKE FUNDAMENTALS AND DID SO WITH PROFESSOR HANNA. SHE MADE EVERYTHING CRYSTAL CLEAR AND I ACTUALLY DID MUCH BETTER THIS TIME AROUND! SHE IS KIND, CARING, EXPLAINS THE MATERIAL VERY WELL AND IS A GREAT PROFESSOR WHO I LOOK FORWARD TO TAKING DOWN THE ROAD. THANK GOD FOR HER-TAKE HER! YOU'LL LEARN SO MUCH AND MORE!
I took her for fundamentals and I was forced to retake her for medsurge... not really thrilled about that. Shes a sweet professor and very knowledgeable but she is also very broad when it comes to studying and test taking. She literally says to study by reading the whole chapter instead of telling us what to focus on more. Get ready to read.
Hanna is a fine, but she was no help when it came to Hesi, the online practice test are no help at all, the only thing thats going to save you is to read the entire book and make sure you ace every exams so that you don't need Hesi to pass the class. Her exams are tricky and are not based on the powerpoint. I fell the class.
The professor presents most of the material via power-points throughout the semester. To Be adequately prepared for the course, it is necessary to read the require textbook and associated power-points. The professor is very approachable during office hours to discuss course material.
Hanna is wonderful and encourages you to know your stuff. She likes to go around the room making up scenarios and asking each student questions about it according to the content we're going over. So make sure you study and read. But either way, she wasn't boring and great and explaining and reviewing material. I suggest reading the textbook!
By far my favorite professor of the semester! Don't be afraid. She seems scary & tough at first, but it's bc she cares & really wants u to learn & understand the material. You must read the entire chapters that are assigned in the syllabus in order to succeed in this class. she is fair and very knowledgeable. Wish I could take her for every class!
She is the best! Sweetest professor of all time, and my favorite professor of the semester. She is very knowledgeable. Gets her hands dirty to show you how to perform the skill correctly. She was more like our nurse mom. Wish I could take her for every class. I love you Dr. Hanna!!!!
Dr. Hanna is very knowledgeable and funny. She does read from her slides which is a bit annoying, but she adds extra examples to them in class to help you understand. I have heard she is great for skills and clinical. Tests are somewhat easy if you read the book. Would take again.
SHE IS THE BEST! She makes sure you learn the information. I took her for fundamentals and she gave me all the basics I needed for nursing school. Sweetest person ever and believes in tough love. Read, show up to class and make sure you listen to her and you'll do great!
There's so many nice things I can say about Dr. Hanna. I absolutely love her teaching style. She doesn't miss a beat. She has a great personality too. She gives you the tools you need to succeed. She teaches you to be a safe, competent, skillful nurse. She is great at what she does. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. I learned a lot. 5 stars!
Overall a good professor but doesnt explain the material and mostly goes over the main points in her powerpoints that we need to cover in the book on our own. Tests are not heard but require a lot of reading. Warm personality.
If you have a chance take fundamentals with another professor. Dr Hanna likes to say, " It is important, make sure you know those information." However the exam will be very challenge with many hard questions. I will never take this professor again. She seems nice, but she is rude. She does not cover grades!
DR. HANNA IS IN CHARGE OF FIRST SEMESTER FOR NURSING STUDENTS AND KNOWS FUNDAMENTALS BACKWARD AND FORWARDS. SHE IS KIND, FUNNY AND APPROACHABLE. HER TEST ARE NOT EASY BUT ONE THAT YOU CAN ACHIEVE A GOOD GRADE WITH EFFORT. FUNDAMENTALS IS SERIOUS BUSINESS AND YOU NEED TO READ, DO PRACTICE QUESTIONS AND STUDY. DON'T EXPECT IT HANDED TO YOU. STUDY
I had her for funds first semester ever, I dont know why people say shes good. Shes not clear in grading, reads from the PowerPoints, and snippets of the book. Basically youll teach yourself. Shes been rude as well when you want to have a meeting with her its. first come first serve. Doesnt create the tests herself. Switch out if you can.
Make sure to read only what she covers in class or on the PowerPoint. Dont kill your self reading the whole chapter. If she says its important to know or this is on the test dont believe it. Not everything she says is on the test. As long as you read the sections that she covers on the PowerPoint and do questions, you should be fine
This is my first time failing a class and it's because of her. She can't teach, doesn't care about her students, and throughout the whole semester she was really rude. Her PP slides are not good because most of the information are copy and paste from the book. When I take this class again, I make sure I tell my advisor to give me another professor.
Basura. She needs to go back to the clinical setting because teaching is not where she needs to be. Just rambles about things but I literally learned nothing from her. Had to go out and learn on my own by reading and watching vids. Let's not even mention the nasty attitude she has. Go with Blanco if you want to learn and grasp concepts.
She is the first professor you will encounter in nursing school and she takes that role very seriously. I can say that she is caring and will give you that one extra point to pass but she is not easy. Her exams are incredibly difficult and packed with information. You will be reading all day everyday for the rest of the semester just to get a C.
Worst Nursing professor the nursing program has! Considering she's the director of the program for the first-semester students. She is doesn't help the students at all! Doesn't explain her own syllabus clearly, never writes back to student's emails, and just reads off the PowerPoint. You might as well teach by yourself. I wish luck to everyone.
Fundamentals isnt a hard subject, it just requires A LOT of reading. There is so much material to cover in only four months, coupled with taking four other classes is a recipe for failure. Professor Hanna reads from powerpoints, but that is what all professors do. She isnt my favorite Professor, but she certainly isnt my worst. Read, read, read.
Worst professor Ive ever experienced and extremely unprofessional. Shes incredibly difficult to get ahold of, doesnt respond to emails, unavailable for any office hours, and pawns you off to other faculty as to not deal with you. Gave the class a midterm exam missing 1/3 of the time, wasnt going to fix it until the last minute during finals!
Professor Hanna is the absolute best. She is extremely skilled and direct when teaching skills so there really is no room for confusion. She teaches exactly what is on tests and as long as you pay attention in class you will PASS. She is always available to help and is not tricky or confusing at all. I made SURE to pick her for my next classes!
The material is not hard, however, make sure to read a lot in order to pass. There is no study guide nor blueprint and she won't really explain what is on the test. Therefore it becomes hard to analyze what material out of 5 chapters will actually be on the test.
3 Tests, 1 Midterm, 1 Standardized Test, & Final. Pre-lecture quizzes given before she teaches the material so be ready to read the powerpoints, take notes on videos, and read from the book. There is a lot of material for each test, do not procrastinate and do not underestimate the tests. Find your studying method and make a schedule. She's tough.
She is one of the worst professors Ive ever had. Whenever you ask her a question about something, she gives you attitude and ridicules you for not knowing the answer. You cant miss more than twice or you wont pass the class. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!
She is amazing!! She went above and beyond for us to get an amazing clinical experience. She really wants all the students to learn. I love how she wants you to understand and challenge your knowledge. This is a nursing class so of course you have to put a lot of effort on it . Doctor Hanna is a great professor and a great nurse. I am so glad
I really enjoyed her class and it made me a better student. I perfected my study techniques, Im so used to tests now, and you feel your hard work pay off in the end. Watch the spotlight videos, get to class on time, and study the flashcards
She is intimidating at first but you slowly get more comfortable and it actually becomes fun practicing the skills in class. The performance tests can be anxiety provoking but just practice and ask her all your questions in class. Dont miss a class youll miss a lot of hands on practice and she sometimes has extra lab hours
Dr Hanna is a great teacher. do a lot of reading and practice questions. If she said focus on something for the test, do not really focus on just that, cause it might not even be on the test. She might be misleading y'all to check to see if you reading your whole chapters. She will always answer your questions and review you tests and quizzes.
Dr Hanna is a great professor. She knows her materials. Study before class is very important to pass the pre quizzes . She has 2 tests , a midterm and a final. Use all ressources your could probably find for fundies because her questions are not always came from the book.. You can pass her class with an A but if only you work for it.
Dr. Hanna is not a terrible professor, however she does not tolerate anything. If you had any emergency or an issue with the school administration to attend to class, she will not excuse your work. She will give you a 0 regardless of the circumstance. She does not respond to emails very well, and if she does, she is not very helpful. Overall ok.
Dr. Hanna is a great professor. Her pre-lecture quizzes are important fro your final grade so make sure you are coming to class prepared. Use ALL the resources that you can find pertaining to the textbook. study guides, quizlets, test banks, as well as chapter outlines. It is important that you stay on top of her class as it is easy to fall behind.
literally my favorite teacher at mdc! the class consists of 3 exams, 3 performances & workbook assignments. no study guides are given so you'll have to really study. just read over the powerpoints, textbook & pay attention to her lectures & you'll be fine. she really wants you to learn & be competent moving on in nursing school. LOVE HER!
Dr. Hanna is a serious professor. That doesn't mean she is disliked, rather respected. She seems intimidating at first, but is actually funny and ABSOLUTELY wants students to become successful nurses. There are 3 Quizzes and 4 Tests. Homework is based off ATI and engagement is graded rather than scores. She likes to engage students in conversations
Professor Hanna knows her stuff, she's very good at teaching however she's one of the most heartless professor I've ever met. She would fail you just for 0.5 Get ready to participate and read a lot if you want to pass her exams. Run as fast as you can. Do not take her.
The professor knows her material when it comes to performing skills; however, the only issue is that she does not go in depth into the lecture portion of the class. She expects you to read the book and know everything about it without any study guide to prepare for the exams.
I only recommend her if you want to fail this class
I can honestly say the she does not really know what she is doing in terms of teaching, she just reads off the PowerPoint. She is not really tech savvy so if there is something wrong with your grade she will not fix it. She does not really follow her own syllabus & she waited two nights before the final to inform us on what was going to be on it.
Her class was not bad. She did great with lecture at first, but started getting lazy halfway. She was disorganized with her syllabus, especially with homework dates. The dates on the syllabus, canvas, and Sherpath were different. Beware, does not have office hours!
Participation is a must. You will definitely be teaching yourself from the book! She is very knowledgeable, but she does make the class harder than what it has to be for the simple fact that she barely lectures, and when she does, it's not necessarily helpful if you haven't gone through the chapter prior and have a basic understanding of it.
Dr. Hanna is VERY difficult. She will fail you on a skills assessment exam and make you retest for forgetting to do one small step. She yells at students, embarrasses them in front of others, and makes them cry walking out of her classroom. I'm glad I worked hard for a B in her class, but I would NEVER take her again. Run if you have her.
I read the reviews and still took the class. DONT be like me.She is unorganized, gave the final chapters 2 days before the test, will tell you what to study for the test and said material wont be on the test, told us to have sherpath done by last week of school and then gave us 0 for turning them in at said time, please spare yourself the trouble..
She is knowledgeable about what she teaches but she doesn't know how to effectively teach, she just reads off a PowerPoint. Be prepared to read a lot and teach yourself. Also, don't trust what she says. She told us assignments were due before the test but then switched it up last minute causing a lot of us to get zeros and even fail. She's a risk.
Her tests are not on what she teaches, just beware. You have to read, take the Sherpath self-study quizzes and take the ATI practice quizzes all on your own if you want to pass. She's also very pessimistic sometimes. Don't be discouraged if she says 'You can take this class again next semester.' Just ignore that and do your best and study.
She comes off as nice, however her smile is deceitful. She doesn't really care and only read off the powerpoint for about 10 minutes. BE WARE SHE IS VERY RUDE. If you ask her something you don't understand , she will tell you to go look over the PowerPoints or read the book. When it comes to the performance she has no type of sympathy at all.
IF YOU EVER HAVE THIS PROFESSOR... RUN AWAY!!!!! Thank me later.
I'm currently retaking one of her classes with another professor and I wish this was my situation before, it's just a lot better. Hanna comes into class in a bad mood every morning which makes you feel uncomfortable or distracted. For the practice labs her grades are mostly based on actual written exams and not practices which to me seems unfair.
Dr.Hanna is the best professor i have had so far in this nursing program. She's hilarious and also teaches exactly what you need to know for the test. Don't listen to any negative reviews about her because I saw the reviews before taking her class and was a little nervous but she ended up being the best professor! Keep her!
Not sure why her reviews are so bad, Very hands on teacher. Pay ATTENTION to what she says, read powerpoints and study for assessments and you will be fine. Loved Professor Hanna!!!
Get ready to teach yourself as the PowerPoints she reads off of barely touch on the subjects you will be tested on. My recommendation for this class is to watch Nurse Sarah and Level Up rn videos along with a lot of Sherpath practice questions to apply the knowledge you learned.
It is hard to know what to study for in these chapters (they are very long). You have to hope that what you studied will be on the test. The professor does not make it clear what information will appear in the test. When I email her about a concern with an upcoming test, she either does not respond or provides a short, vague answer.
DR. HANNA is a diva in the best way lol. She's hilarious without trying. I loved her class. I learn in interactive scenarios, stories, and questions. I have nothing bad to say except she will tell you to READ and try to learn everything. Just do your assignments, show up to her class, read the book (if you have time). -UR FAV
I'm not sure why all the negative reviews but I can only speak from my experience. Dr. Hannah is a no nonsense professor but she teaches and you will learn! She is actually a sweetheart and wants her students to pass! You can tell she's really passionate about fundamentals by the way she conducts her lectures. I really learned a lot because of her!
Knowledgeable, but her teaching style isn't student-friendly. Reads off slides, no study guides, and doesn't review exams, making it hard to know weak areas. Just saying 'read the chapters' isn't enough. I passed every exam, but only because I had to teach myself the material.
She seems that she is very experienced and knowledgeable in her healthcare job but not when it comes to teaching. Please do not take her. Her class was just ppt and her teaching was just saying to figure it out and read from the book.
Has her favorites and ppl she picks on. Teaching style is teach it self read the book. Not the worst I had fare in her grading but depending and not very good at teaching
She goes over everything that will be on the test in her lectures using PPTs. Go and read the book about what was said in class and to make sure you cover everything. Tests are average in difficulty but you do have to put in the reading. Little homework, but they're easy. Good teacher, just study hard and write notes on what she heavily REPEATS.
Dr. Hanna was a great professor. She reads off the powerpoints but adds her own stories and her own details on the side which makes the class entertaining and easy to learn. She's very knowledgeable and kind. Test can be difficult, but I use the powerpoints to know what topics to focus on. Great professor overall.
Dr. Hanna makes class fun. Nursing is hard period. Don't be lazy and read the book! At LEAST look at the tables and key points! Read her powerpoints, do practice questions and you'll be fine! I loved her! and i hope i get her again. She's hilarious and sarcastic but in the best way possible. Don't listen to the other reviews!
Lecture wise she just read off the ppt. shes pretty funny and gives scenarios of the situation. I DO NOT RECCOMEND HER FOR SKILLS ill tell you that much. sometimes she ask questions before class starts from her previous lecture. she often says what exactly will be on the test. shes a pretty good prof tho. her hw was just elsiver.
She may come off as difficult at first but she is not at all she makes you apply and learn and very funny
