This lady is so easy! She talks really fast and is really goofy but she makes everything easy. She tells you exactly whats on the test and she tells you when she collects homework. I wish I could have her for all my math courses.

One of the most cool and upbeat teachers of all time. Class attendence is optional, just keep up and know the material on test days. Bookwork is unneccesary but do online assignments with the MathXL you get when you buy your book. 3group projects, tests make up large part of grade with mathxl.

Amazing prof makes funny, interesting, clear... have to be in class or u will miss major points. Tests are easy if your doing homework. Do ur work etc and ull get a good grade.

this class is really easy! stephanie makes sure you all get it. she loves when you ask questions and she explains very well. very enthusiastic. home work is daily but pretty easy. the math XL is really easy and tests are easy too. take her for this class! great prof.

She is a good teacher I recommend taking her on MWF and don't take her early in the morning she is SUPER perky and also you have to like book work because she does make you turn it in not all professors do. Overall nice lady.

Everyone should take her. She is the best teacher. She has so much fun teaching the class that you actually forget that you are in class. There are assignments but they aren't hard. The tests are not bad but she is always aviable to help anyone! I love her!!

She was great! She is very energetic and fun! She explains things clearly so everything is easy to understand. Tests are the easiest math tests I have ever had...and there are bonus review assignments each unit. I would definitely recommend her!

pretty much the most high strung person I have ever met... but she has to cover a lot of material so I guess it suits her. Class was harder for me than Math 193... tons of homework and tests. Math XL sucks. Good teacher for the subject, very helpful.

Stephanie is fantastic. She loves teaching - you can tell by her enthusiasm. She's so kind and willing to help, and really invested in her students progress and needs. She motivates in fun, new ways, like paying Jimmy Buffet in class. I would take any class she teaches in an instant.

Yes, she gives a lot of homework, but if you do it all you will most likely get an A on the tests. There are 4 tests and a final. She gives you reviews sheets to help prepare you for the test. There are also group projects, and quizzes. She's very helpful and even shows you how to do problems using more than one method. Can tell she loves math!

Houdek is a great teacher. She explains math well. She makes hard math seem easy. She also helps explain if you're having trouble. Be aware: you use your textbook a lot to do mandatory homework + you do math online. You get extra credit for showing up every day and doing math. 4 tests and a final. I recommended her.

Prof. Houdek is one of few prof's I've met that can teach math without a monotone voice. :P I thought she was fun to listen to, and she gave me plenty of help. She does assign a lot of homework -- after all, it IS a math class. She points out the little details that I would get hung-up on. Overall, she's one of the best math prof's I've ever had!

She is pretty easy but once I questioned her about mathxl technical errors she started grading me really hard... maybe it's a personal thing but regardless it was messed up. Sometimes she had a "her way only" philosophy which became a hassle. Wouldn't want to take her again...

I absolutely love this professor, she makes it enjoyable. Attendance isn't required, but you do get extra credit for everyday that you go, and there is usually like 3 quizzes during class time a week. I am horrible at math, but she really cares about how well your doing in this course, she will help you out alot.

Good professor. i hate math and she helped me out a lot! Ridiculous amount of homework, but i have to admit i wouldnt be getting an A if it wasnt for the 100s of problems she assigns, and she is a tough tough homework grader, she gives a lot of quizes that are fairly difficult. If you actually want to learn the math take her!I highly recommend her!

I had her Math 070 and I would strongly advise taking any Math class with her. She really wants you to learn. There is a ton of homework, but hey it's college, get used to it. The Math lab rocks.

She is a pretty good teacher overall, but she just gives too much homework to keep up with and the problems are so repetitive it drives you insane! I got a D the first time I took her and I thought she was a good teacher so I took her again and got the same grade! If she made grades more based on tests I would have done fine because I slacked on HW

Best Math teacher i ever had. I suck at math but she was always more than happy to help. she gives out EC if u go to the math center and if u show effort she will reward u in the long run. Definetly take any math class with her

Stephanie is fun and gives out a TON of EC. It is rather Easy, even if you aren't good at math. Just go to class and ask questions... She loves her job. Take her if you can. She is actually a high school teacher so she can help with the transition from HS to college. Great teacher. I started out with a D and now have an A.

She is funny and makes class fun to be in even though it is a math class. She is always willing to help you when you have a question and answers it in a way that you can understand. Class attendence is not mandatory however, extra credit is awarded for those who attend class.

Stephanie is a great teacher. She really cares about her students. She is always there for you if you have questions about material, the class in general, anything. She is a tough grader but it's totally worth it. If I have to retake the class, I will retake it with her. My current grade reflects my effort, not her teaching ability.

Super energetic teacher. She definetly loves her job. I took this class once before and hated it and the professor but I retook it with Stephanie and she made it so much easier.She hardly gives out homework.and she gives tons of EC. really does care about her students

Stephanie Houdek is by far, the BEST professor I've ever had! She goes way out of her way to help and doesn't mind having extra teaching sessions on her lunch! She is the BEST MATH TEACHER at St.Cloud State University. Pray you get her!

This professor loves math!! She is extremely helpful with students if they want the help. I hate math and find it very hard, but she is very easy to approach for help and will work on math with students anytime even if she is not on office hours. She also offers tons of extra credit. Great teacher but be prepared to work hard!!!!

Stephanie is an amazing professor. I agree with a previous reviewer, the few negative reviews she gets are most likely from students not willing to work for their grades. This is college, BUCK UP. She is always willing to help and keeps things super upbeat. You can tell she really cares, but you need to do your part. Love her.

Speaks too fast, trys to be funny, and expects you to know the material after she teaches it to you. Also she is extremely picky grader, you would lose points for not showing forumals, etc.

SHE IS THE BEST MATH TEACHER I'VE HAD SINCE HIGH SCHOOL! It was a summer class that had just been condensed down so it was really fast moving but she was VERY good!Once i forgot an a page of my assignment and she found me and asked if it was in my notebook and accepted it! She is a picky grader,but she says what she expects at the beg. of class.

Best Math teacher I have ever had. Over all extremely helpful, and fun to learn from. She makes people want to achieve high scores because you can. I wish she taught more of the higher level classes i would take her every chance i got.

Very easy to understand. If you pay attention in class and do the very little amount of work she ask for it is very easy to get an A. Plus you get extra credit for just attending every class period. Worth taking her class even though she is overly excited most days.

Was a great teacher easy to learn from.

Very good teacher. I like her energy in class it keeps me focused and she really does a great job at explaining the materials. Exams are tricky but she gives you plenty of opportunity for extra credit and help in the math skills center.

She is one of the teacher who understands why students don't like maths that's why she always advices her students to work hard and not to procrastinate. However, students also have to play their part by doing maths after the class.

Math is math but this teacher really knows how to explain things. She is willing to work with you if you need to take a testquiz early. Very nice, and funnyknows how to laugh at herself:)!

She is very organized and she provides you with everything you need to succeed. You get immediate feedback on work. Approchable and fun. If you need a math class, pick hers. Online homework assignments, weekly quizzes, and four tests including the final which you will easily pass if you do the homeworks. Plenty of extra credit opportunities.

No words can describe her, She makes math easy to understand and enjoyable. Though a lot of homework which can be tiring, she teaches the concept well that you can do the Homework in min without sweating. Hint she talks fast,dont sweat it she has video lecture of herself on D2L. Take her and pass.

She is extremely nice. Responds to emails pretty quickly. I hate math with a passion but she made it bearable. Also very approachable. Go to class, study, and you'll do okay.

You can learn from her, but you have to learn how to be her student -- watch schedule. Course pace is fast. Instructor talks fast -- in class it's hard to both take notes & think about the information. Some lecture/demo on video. Sometimes more than one quiz on the same day -- one in person one online. A LOT of tutoring available. No pain, no gain.

Wonderful teacher

I had Stephanie Houdek in Fall 2016. She was amazing. She was always trying to help everyone. Right off the bat, she told us about 30 points of extra credit. (15pts for being in class three times a week and 15pts for going to the math tutoring center for 100 hours in a week). I went to the tutoring center every week and made the 100 mins no problem

Stephanie is by far the best teacher for 072. Her class is outlined so you absolutely know what needs to be due and when it's due all semester. Her note packets are easy to follow along with, and she responds very quickly to emails. The MyMathLab stuff can get difficult, but her quizzes and tests are much easier.

I hate math, but she made bearable. The way she goes over things made it easy for me to understand everything. Usually in math classes I get lost and confused, but I was able to understand everything in this class. She is so great, take her class!

After being absent from math in school for 15 years and hating math, she has the best procedure and explanations to help yo to understand what, why, and how problems need to be solved. Yes you do have to do work, yes she does want you to show up, yes she will help you if you ask and put in effort to learn it. If math is hard for you take her.

Houdek is the BEST! Love her!! She cares a lot about the success of her students and is very helpful. My class was in a "normal" size classroom, so it was easier to learn, as opposed to a big auditorium. The homework load is normal for a math class, it's not too bad. You have quizzes and 3 exams + final. Have Houdek as your prof!! She is awesome!

LOVE HER!!! If you have a chance to take a class with Stephanie, I highly recommend it. She always responds quick to emails and will always offer help after class. Also, extra is given if you make it to class everyday. 11/10 teacher.

Absolutely an amazing professor. She loves mathematics and knows how to pass on the knowledge to the students. He enthusiasm is contagious and she's always willing to help this who put forth the effort. She speaks quickly, so if you aren't focused on paying attention, you will miss information but she will explain if you ask questions.

What a fabulous professor! If you don't love math, take her. She made things so simple and clear for me. She's pretty fun, too.

I am bad at math. She will give you every opportunity to pass with a C. I have never had a teacher so nice, that I truly believe wanted me to pass.

Best prof. I've ever had, ever. Genuinely cares. Wants to help ALL students. Will help after class & holds reviews. Math is a struggle for me I'd meet with her 2 times a week outside of class. I wouldnt have learned or passed if I didnt have the above and beyond help she gave me. If theres bad reviews on her its because those students didnt try.

If you don't understand algebra, don't take any other professor but her! Absolutely amazing teacher. Explains everything clearly. If you have a question she WILL answer it and not just go off on a tangent. Super easy to get along with. Would definitely recommend and would take her for every math class if i could!

I am a good student, but I suck at math. Professor Houdek is a super nice and helpful teacher. Her lectures are short and simple, and her notes packets are a life saver. You do homework everyday, but she is a great teacher and her method works if you are not the best at math. 10/10 best college math teacher I've had so far.

If you have to take MATH070 I highly recommend her. She really wants you to grasp the material and is willing to help you outside of class. Overall the class is not difficult if you pay attention and do the homework on my math lab. You have 4 exams throughout the semester and a final exam. Overall I enjoyed taking this class.

I absolutely love this professor! She helped me see math in the real world and apply that knowledge. If you are coming back from not taking a math course until now I highly recommend prof Houdek! If you do well on the 4 tests you don't have to take a final exam!

You will use a math packet from the bookstore and mymathlab. Houdek is very helpful and wants to make sure everyone understands the lessons. Lectures are posted on D2L and many other useful documents. She will do practice for exams (4 of them) etc. Final is not required if you have a good grade.

Stephanie Houdek helped to actually understand math. She explains things in a manner that makes sense. I would recommend her to anyone! Especially if math has not been your strong suit.

Stephanie is easily my favorite professor I have had. She is great at communicating with students and replies to emails quickly. If you have the opportunity, TAKE HER CLASS!!! She is flexible with you if you put in the time and get your work done. I had no issue with her and wish I could take more of her classes. 4 exams & final is optional.

She's an amazing and understanding teacher. I had to retake the class and decided to take it with her. She was nothing but supportive. Also she was easy to reach when you need help. I would definitely take her class again if given the opportunity.

Houdek is amazing! She was very clear about why she was teaching certain concepts so we could succeed in our later classes. Very quick to respond to emails and always has a smile on her face. I was nervous about judgment in a low math class but she was very supportive and helped me understand concepts I struggled with. TAKE HER!!

Great professor! Made concepts clear and easy to understand. Helpful in multiple different aspects. Assigns a decent amount of homework but not so much that it's impossible. Easy grader, typically gave 5 points per question on a test and just showing your work would get you 4/5 of the way there. Gave opportunities to make up missed work. 10/10

Videos lessons made it very easy to understand and learn the materials. Class was paced well; the homework was easy and set you up well for the tests.

Best professor at SCSU. She reminds me a lot of my grandma, very knowledgable, kind, understanding, and sweet. I had a horrible semester with one thing after the next in my personal life, and when I tell you Ive never had a more understanding teacher in my life than her. She really cares about her students success, take this class with her. 10/10

At the beginning of the class I was one of her top students but halfway through the semester I became burnt out and wasn't doing as good as I had been previously. Felt like she had a different view of me afterwards. Nice but at times a bit judgy. Class seemed forever and unending. Besides that clear with expectations and easy class.

I absolutely loved her so much! She actually made it very easy for me to grasp the context. What helped me pass the class was being in the Math Center, and just doing work. It's actually best to be in there a lot because you get points for being in there. Literally just do your work on time and you will pass this class easily. And particiapte.

Stephanie was a great professor! Extremely understanding of circumstances and missing work. Show up to class and do the homework and you'll be just fine. She also does weekly note checks so make sure you're doing those, it's a big part of your grade!!

If an individual is struggling in her class, she will go out of her way to assist them. She also offers extra credit for showing up to class, so show up!
