I have over all really enjoyed the teacher. She is very helpful and really likes questions. Is she asks a question and your answer maybe way off she never says your wrong but instead try's to see it in your point of view.

Stephanie's firm grip on the materials is self evident; and her feedback to all of her students is very useful.

I found her to be an excellent teacher. She really knows her stuff and treats students fairly and respectfully. I learned a lot from her class. She is open minded to other viewpoints. I would recommend her for Speech 225.

She teaches using the socratic method, which was very effective in the class that I took. She is also very easy to work with and reasonable.

She usually summarise the chapters and have notes for the students. very helpful and 4 easy exams,3 papers,1 project.I would recommend her to everyone. all u need to do is read the book before class and after. sometimes we watch "cultural" films, very interesting class !

A good teacher. Overall, though, she just goes through the book. It can be kind of boring in that sense. But the in-class activites were interesting and relevant. She just didnt seem all that inspired.

Great teacher! She knows her stuff and it shows. She is very openminded. Group project was great and the book is pretty interesting. Takes attendance almost everyday but most of time you want to be there because the class is fun. Take this class, you will learn a ton.

This class was really interesting. I learned a whole lot. the teacher was kind of nice too.but wasnt my favorite. i would recomend this class. it is fun and you actually gain somthing from it.

Very good teacher. Easy work load. Take notes read them over and you'll pass all 3 exams with an A. 3 easy graded paper assignments all quarter. However, there is about 7 in class group work assigments, 3 film ones, and 2 "Dr. Phil" ones. If you take this class you'll learn A LOT of useful information.

She is awesome! She makes a power point of all the chapters you read so you don't need to read. She is so nice! I woukd take her for sure!!

Good professor. Good lectures. If you pay attention to lectures won't need to read the text book. Class notes are good and posted online. Gives good study guides for tests. If you know the study guides, you will easily ace the tests. In class group stuff and group project are a pain, but if you want a relativley easy A then take this class.

Great teacher, that's all you need to know. Fun attitude, she'll always brighten your day. Easy to talk to, great lectures. If you pay attention, then you barely need your textbook (but I'd still suggest a quick overview every once and awhile), but an easy A if you follow directions. Great, great, teacher.

Professor Hurst is extremely interesting. She provides pictures and illustrations, makes class a lot of fun. She gave three tests, two of which were online. Attendance is required. Her exams are straight forward, take good notes and study those, cause that is what she mostly tests from. Awsome teacher, my favorite so far. Fun stuff to learn, too.

easy class, 3 tests, 50questions each. study her slides & noted and you're good. fun group assignments, they're easy too. she is also very nice, does what she can to help her students. i recommend her.

So, this class was not only one of the easiest but funnest I've taken. Mrs. Hurst made the class SO much fun and was amazing during the lectures. I never had to read the book and I got A's on almost everything. Though, learned a lot.

Easy, didn't need to use textbook at all. Just get her notes offline. Textbook was frusterating, redundant and dull. She encouraged us to talk and discuss stuff, but interrupted anybody who tried to say anything. Did not handle some subjects very well.

Mrs. Hurst was awsome!. I took the class last quarter and she was very helpful. The book was not all that but her notes online sumed everything up. She is a great teacher.

she was a very good teacher. she let us know everything that we needed to know. when we got behind in class, she didn't just rush us through it. instead she changed it around and took some things out.

Excellent teacher. You can tell she really loves communication studies and also teaching. Super helpful and clear on what she expects of her students. I went into the class not interested at all and now I am considering a degree in communication. Again, an excellent teacher. I highly recommend taking this class!

Stephanie is totes awesome! Super sweet, and really loves to work with and help her students do well. My only critique is that she can be a bit of a pushover, but for you brown-nosers this is the class for you. ;) Aside, I really enjoyed this class and found it to be very interesting thanks to stephanie!

AWESOME teacher. I took the hybrid class which meant all work was done online. With all her lectures and the reading projects, quizzes, and tests were a breeze. She has a great personality, explains things really well, and is overall an excellent teacher. Her Intercultural Communication class was really interesting and I know I benefited from it.

Wow! What an awesome teacher! The tests can be hard if you don't study/ don't come to class, but if you do study you'll have no problem! Very good at teaching the material and a fair grader!

the best teacher in BC. excellent clarity, more emphasis on interpretation rather than definition so that the lecture will stick in your mind. Her exams are sometimes difficult, but if you study well, you will be able to get an A in this class.

Stephanie hurst is a great teacher. she is a very flexible and understanding teacher when things go wrong. had her for both cmst230 and 280. i have had no problems with her at all and am glade to have such a great teacher in comm, it helped me find that i want to specialize in comm to help out in my bussness i want to start up.

Stephanie Hurst is an amazing teacher! I took her class this quarter online and have been doing very well. Her communication with her students is very in depth and she seems like she cares about how we are doing in the class and is very clear of her expectations of us. I could not have asked for a more fair grading, clear expectation professor!

She is a great teacher... I greatly appreciate her clarity and continuous grading schedule. She sticks to her requirements and grades to those standards all quarter. Her class is easy as long as you do the work. She DOES NOT set you up to fail, she sets you up to succeed and learn!! LOVED her!

Stephanie Hurst is a wonderful woman and a good teacher. I found the class far too easy, though - it's possible to get 100% on every assignment just for doing it correctly. I have an 100% and I'm barely putting forth any effort. There's also a lot of group work. Good teacher overall, but not a challenging class.

This class does take effort, but you will enjoy the assignments. Fantastic class on culture! Stephanie is a great teacher and I highly recommend this class to anyone that needs to satisfy Cultural Diversity or if you have a general interest in the topic. Twice weekly discussions, 3 quizzes, and one 12+ page journal at the end. Overall, loved it!

I took her online course this spring. It's easy going, simple if you read the material, and it didn't take up much of my time. The quizzes she gives is direct, no tricks involved. Do recommend!!

I took this class online and it was SO easy! Two, two-hundred word (40 pts) responses each week and three quizzes (100 pts) total. Quizzes can be a little challenging but it's almost impossible not to get 100% on the responses. There's also an outlined 10-25 page, double spaced, essay at the end. It's easy though. I'd recommend this class!

This is my first time taking an online class and I don't regret taking intercultural comm with her! She's easygoing and the class itself was very straightforward. It's really easy to get an A! Just do the work and review the material before your quizzes. I learned a lot from this class too. I'd recommend her to anyone :)

Professor Hurst is incredibly helpful, friendly, and easy to deal with. Her assignments are clear, well considered, and assigned in an order and manner that makes the information easily accessible. I took the class to fulfill prerequisites for my degree plan, but found that by the end of the quarter I genuinely enjoyed the content. A+ 5/5 100%

Stephanie was super helpful all throughout the course. If I ever needed a question answered I could usually get a response within 24 hours. Overall, an awesome teacher.

Extremely helpful, kind, quick responses to emails. Course requirements not difficult: weekly discussion posts are not difficult. Quizzes have a few poorly worded questions but other than that, are quite easy multiple choice. One analytical 10-25 page paper for which she gives an outline. Recommended for best way to satisfy nursing prerequisite.

This class is easy. I never read the book except what I had to write about for the final 10 page paper final. Comments must be 200 words long for discussion topics and 100 for student responses which made all of the comments really lengthy. Every response is due at 11pm which I found hard to meet as I work late. The quiz questions are picky.

Excellent professor! This really was an easy class and she was super clear with her instructions. Lots of discussion questions, a 10 page paper, and 3 online exams that weren't too bad. Stay on top of your due dates and you will absolutely get an A!

2 discussions per week, 3 quizzes, 1 final paper (12 pages). Replies to emails quickly, quizzes are specific and kind of hard. Dont be alarmed by the 12 page paper, it is based off a list of questions that most are from the discussions so it is very easy to put together. Be on top of your due dates and it should be an easy A!

I took Stephanie's intercultural communications class and it was great! She was very clear with grading. You must be a good time manager to be successful in any online class.

I am almost finished with this class, but I am glad I took it. There was 7 discussions 200 words long and 2 responses to each discussion 100 words long. 3 tests with multiple choice and true or false. She gives you test reviews beforehand that help and a 12-15 page paper that was based on questions that she gives you so it was easy to put together.

Professor Hurst made this class very straightforward. If you follow her instructions, you will do fine. There is a pretty big project due near the end of the quarter, but she gives you a clear outline to follow and lots of time, if you start early like she encourages you to do. The subject matter was very interesting as well.

Very clear grading criteria. Plenty of chances to get feedback if you are struggling on assignments. Provides many different ways to engage with the material. Tests are largely based on text but its an easy read. She gives detailed guides for exams so you know what to study. Grades assignments promptly and explains what you might have missed.

Weekly discussions of 200 words and 2 comments. I usually did them 3 hrs before due date and got 100%. Make sure to look at the rubric. 12-15 pg journal at the end of the quarter. Easy enough quizzes. Didn't really use the textbook but helps with the quizzes. Follow the study guides and you'll get good score on quizzes. Easy grading for discussions

The discussions are pretty easy. There is a 12-15pg analysis journal which was easy too. She gives very detailed questions to answer which makes it easy to reach 12pages. She's an easy grader, just answer all questions. The exams are pretty easy too. They cover stuff from the textbook but they are pretty general topics.

Hurst is an awesome teacher! <3 She understands your concerns if you speak up. She's quick with emailing you the next day. There are 3 quizzes, all are true ,false multiple choice no fill in. Your expected to read the whole textbook as it will also provided you with great knowledge. A 16pg journal is expected worth 20% of your grade.

She's so good! I loved her class. Every week there is a discussion where you have to reply to 2 people and 3-4 quizzes total in the quarter. There is also one big project about your own culture. She is so understanding and really cares about her students. Overall this class is pretty doable.

Easy grader in that her rubrics specify exactly what she's looking for; check all the boxes and you'll do fine.

discussion heavy class, but fulfill all the criteria and you will be fine. she's very understanding and even gave me full points for a late assignment because I had just graduated from hs. the final is a 15 page paper DO NOT leave it to the last minute. generally good class, you still have to work for the A but the Stephanie makes it enjoyable.

Liked how clear she was on each week's work load. One quiz, one discussion post+2 responses, some lectures to listen to (but a good mixture of interesting ted talks), and minimal textbook reading. Ppts are super useful for the quizzes and they are generally pretty easy if you read the few pages assigned each week. Start your 12-20 page paper early!

The course was so well organized. Each module had a clear step-by-step itinerary for the week, which was great for planning out what needed to be done. Assignment due dates were consistent and she allows ample time to complete. She gives great insight into the material and is super kind! Definitely recommend.

Canvas course was well-organized. Assignment expectations and grading criteria were clear and fair. Two Zoom meetings during the quarter to present speeches to the class. Instructor communicated with students and responded to questions in a compassionate, thoughtful way. Gives opportunities for extra credit and making up assignments.

Stephanie was one of the best instructors I have ever had. She cares; she listens. Her lesson plan is extremely organized and well thought out. The materials match the homework. She is kind, caring and polite and it's extremely obvious that she cares that her students are learning.

I enjoyed taking the class from this professor. Has a public speaking assignment that is tough if you don't like speaking in front of people, but creates a supportive class environment that makes it not that bad. Loved her insights into communication and used some of what I learned from her in my everyday work.

Only 1 discussion post on W; based mostly on videos & short lectures, not much reading. & 1 quiz on Sunday (super easy; Qs are from the PP). Follow her rubric & you'll get 100%. I recommend working on your cultural analysis (12-20 pgs) every week after submitting your discussion post that relates to the section in the analysis. 1 free late pass.

Super easy class! 1 quiz and 1 discussion each week based on various readings/videos and a PowerPoint. I feel like I actually learned something and expectations were clear and reasonable. There is a 12-20 page cultural identity analysis you need to do, but it is very straightforward. Her grading is very lenient and the workload is manageable.

Soo easy. 1 discussion board a week, and 1 quiz you won't even have to study for it's all common sense. Easily accessible. No big tests. There is a personal journal to fill out over the entire course, she wants you to treat it like a diary so it's super easy and unprofessional. Easy A

Great instructor! Explains the material clearly and stays focused on what really matters. Grades assignments quickly and fairly. The course was very practical and useful, and it gave me more confidence in communication. Truly one of the best courses I've taken. I would gladly take another class with this professor in the future.
