This teacher is great! Very helpful. Took her for anatomy one and two. Tests are hard and you need to study for them. Overall good teacher, knows the material very well! Would definiatly take her again!
Lab is a nice instructor but the tests are extremely difficult. she talks too fast and you can hardly pick up. i had a C+ in this class and that was my first C in college. if you want a good teacher with bad grades. take her.
horrible teacher...
Great teacher. Her exams are hard just study the study guides you should do fine. I dont think I ever got anything less than a B on her exams. For the lab exams just make sure you study the pictures the manikins & the cadaver & you should do fine. I would suggest making flashcards for all of the exams they are very helpful. I would take her again.
awesome teacher! she doesnt really have an attendance policy, but you have to go because the quizzes and tests are off her notes. everything you need is in those. quizzes are with your group and 5 points. lotttts of vocab but make notecards as you go. dont buy the book. definitly taking her again for bio 251. wish i would have had her for bio 250
great teacher. very easy class to follow and keep up with. take notes, they help a lot for the tests. you dont need to buy the book. tests arent super easy but if you take time to study, youll be fine. very nice teacher, very nice person.
Miss Lab was a very good teacher. White down everything she says in class. You do not need to buy the text book but you will need the lab book. Her test are VERY hard. You will have to study a lot. Overall she is a very good teacher. I wanted to take her for Bio 251 but the times did not work for my schedule.
Miss Lab is a great teacher. she was new when I had her. Very organized told you everything that you needed to know for her tests. If you don't study NO, you won't pass or do good on her test but that that's not her job that's yours.
Lab is a really good teacher! She is very knowledgable and can answer almost all of your questions. She gives awesome notes, but thats also why it's imporant to attend every class because there is so much information. Her tests are fair and pretty easy. She also does review games which makes the clas fun. One of my favorite teachers!
Great Teacher, she has a good personality doesnt look down on any question. Never makes you feel stupid.
I loved her class! and the study games she had to help get ready for her test!
Excellent teacher! Very easy to follow and very helpful when you need her to be. I wish I had more classes with her. Dr. K, you should follow her lesson plan, it works!
Very clear on all the material. Goes through notes thoroughly, which makes attending every class mandatory if you want to pass. Tests are fair and reviews are fun. A lot of material to study, but that's your job, not hers. Definitely one of my favorite teachers!
Great Class!! She is very helpful. You takes lots of notes and memorize a ton of words. You get to take quizes and groups which is nice and easy. just make sure you make notecards and study and youll be sure to pass. TAKE HER!!!
Professor Lab is an A+ instructor. She sets clear expectations, and follows the syllabus. The lectures completely and thoroughly cover the exam material. Lecture notes are important, so attendance is mandatory. Go to class, be prepared, take notes, study the notes, and you will get the grade you earn.
taking notes is mandatory, txtbook never ref. or used, but if u want an A better read txtbook also. grades VERY hard, taking .25 points of; mult response ?'s. if u truly want to understand A&P, this is the prof. 4 u. slackers need not apply
I personally have a hard time understanding any science courses. But she is very helpful and made my understanding better. Take notes and record her lecture if you're able to. Read the book if you want to understand more. She can talk fast but she repeats stuff. It is a hard class, but if you study early & priorotize you will get a good grade
Take lots of notes. She allows for group review of notes and material. She repeats things that are impt & gives good analogy to understand. Very interesting & helpful. Exams are hard but if you study you'll be fine.Lec exams include T&F,multiple chc, short answr, essay & matching. With T&F evry F you have to answer the right.multipl choice multpl answ
Currently in her class. While attendance is not mandatory, if you miss a class you will be totally lost. She is a VERY hard grader. There are 5 multiple choice questions, and each answer is worth .5 pts. So, if you mark and it's wrong, you get -.5 for each question. T&F are hard because if it's F then you have to make it a T statement.HARD!
Ms. Lab is highly intelligent i'd refer her! I'm taking evening class so i have diff prof. very consistent and organized. teacher's pet need not take Ms. lab. very practical
Highly recommended! Prof. Lab is very systematic and clear. If you show up to class, take notes, and spend a little time each day going over the vocabulary and notes, you should have no problem getting an A in this class.
had her for 250&251. She is the best bio teacher@ jjc.No class in college is going to be a breeze. its college for a reason! But she helps you through everything. if you have a question she has no problem helping you understand. as for her test they're not difficult.study, and you will do just fine!her notes are detailed &easy to follow!i love her!
Her online class was very good. She offers a ton of online material and games to help you prepare for tests and quizzes. Study and use her online material and you should get an A.
Very nice and smart. Notes are very clear. We learned so much material and I had no problem with it due to her awesome teaching.
Step Lab is a very good teacher, but her exams are extremely hard. Her lectures are awesome but you have to write your own notes. Her Labs are horrible for she only explains it once and you're on your own. But if you wan to learn take her but I have to warn you the class will not be easy. STUDY STUDY STUDY
Professor Lab was one of my favorite teachers! Shes extremely smart and very clear what will be on the exams and whats expected out of you. All you have to do is study. She even gives extra credit and does a "review day" the class before the exams..would recommend!
Professor Lab is FANTASTIC, she is super awesome at teaching and knows what she is talking about. She also does helpful things during class to help the students remember the material like color coding her board notes etc. if you take MT, take Lab.. And A&P too, I didn't take that, but I'm sure she is awesome in it too.
She gives notes about everything I didn't look at the book once! She is willing to help if you have any questions. Test are okay not too difficult, deff need to study though. I only studied the notes and i got a B in the class! Make sure you go to every class so you can get the notes or else i don't think you'll understand the material
Professor Lab is very knowledgeable on the subject matter and explains the material clearly. She actually TEACHES the material and writes great notes and diagrams on the board. She cares about her students and if they understand the material.Show up everyday on time, take great notes, study hard, and ask questions. You will actually learn here.
If you're not a good test taker, don't pick this professor. She's really nice and teaches you everything but you have to know ALL of it. None of her exams are multiple choice and not something you can bs so if you're not dedicating all your time studying don't bother taking her. It takes a lot of work.
This professor has great notes, but her tests are hard. You have to know everything and the test are not black and white answers- tricky if you do not know the material. And the lab section is awful. She does not help you. It is you and your lab manual to teach yourself. She also does not like when you ask questions in lab either.
You have to know it all in order do do well in her class. Her test are super hard and very different, no multiple choice its more like hit or miss. you better be a good speller because she takes off points if you misspell something by one letter. shes a very hard grader. I would not take her again.
I had her for anatomy 1 & 2 because I love the way she takes notes and I feel that she makes things very clear! Her test are difficult, but the lab exams I always received A's. She can be a little frustrated at time with students but overall she's kind and is willing to help. A lot of students just don't care or don't put in the effort.
Even though this was an online class Professor Lab was helpful when you needed it. It is a lot of information but if you put in the time and use the book you should be fine. I would recommend her for this class.
This course was not hard as long as you put the time and effort in to study. I definitely recommend buying the work book because that is the best study tool besides the online practice. Don't bother reading the chapters, just do the practices throughout them. Overall, it was a time-consuming class in some aspects, but it is an easy A.
Very good teacher and she knows her stuff, but her test are extremely hard. Taking her test is almost like writing an essay paper. It's either you know it and pass or don't and fail!!!
Horrible teacher!! Doesn't answer questions. Instead she answer's questions with another question and doesn't even give you a clue where to start looking for your answer. SUPER Stuck up and always seemed bothered to be teaching the class. Also never reviewed anything before exams and gave labs on days that weren't even assigned on her syllables.
In the fall semester I took Professor Lab medical terminology class. I have to admit she is a tough grader at times. You must spell everything correctly. Participation does count against your grade. Don't miss class because whatever you missed you would have to get it from another student. She's nice but you have to remember a lot of terms!
REALLY TOUGH! Nearly impossible to get an A with her. STUDY THE NOTES! You'll need to know them thoroughly to even get a passing grade. Always willing to help, but seems to get frustrated easily with students. Great lecturer, take notes on EVERYTHING she says and writes down. You will learn. Study by teaching others what you learn word for word.

EVERYONE TAKE THIS TEACHER. Especially if you are planning to go into the medial field. She is an amazing teacher! This class is easy if you put forth the time to study. She is crazy about everything being spelled correctly. Make sure you buy the book because you use it everyday.
This class honestly makes you feel like your in kindergarten. Most days we played dumb games like tic-tac-toe. If you can get passed that, it is a very easy class.
Super nice person but her teaching style is a bit blah. Her lecture exams are extremely hard, they all consists of short answer and essays. Anatomy is a hard class to begin with and you really need to put in the work for it but this was just ridiculous.
I passed her class with an A, my biggest advice is to memorize your lecture notes inside and out, everything is on the test, be prepared for her essay questions be as specific as possible, most of her essay questions will be based on the flow charts in your notes. Tests and lab practicals are the majority of your grade. Loved her class.
She's a very organized fair teacher! I love her! Taking her again for A&P 2! She has good but hard tests lots of written test answers.. You prity much need to memorize her notes. She very organized and tells you exactly what to expect. I used a text book 3 editions old and was fine, not needed, but buy an A&P coloring book! Super helpful!
At first I thought it was weird that she didnt use power points. But her lectures were good and her notes were even better. She is very organized with her notes and they are VERY helpful. I think writing down notes instead of printing out lectures are what helped me pass. Her tests are different... which is what makes them difficult. Just study!
I took her but ended up having to drop. She honestly is a very good teacher. Her notes are great and you will learn from her. But her test were honestly so hard. Anatomy is hard enough, but she some how makes it harder with her tests. I failed everyone. And I studied A lot. I do suggest taking her if you are only taking 2-3 classes
I cant be more passionate and honest about how terrible a professor she is she has unrealistic expectations of her students her lectures are awful, doesn't explain anything doesn't answer questions properly and the exams are ridiculous, No Multiple choice please do not take her save yourself from stress beyond belief the WORST prof. ever trust me
Maybe she's different in person but online she was terrible. No communication or feedback whatsoever. Most of the quizzes were hidden in other week's folders which left students scrambling to finish on time. You are 100% teaching yourself. The class could have been taught by a robot for all I know. Do not recommend if you aren't self motivated.
She is honestly a good teacher. But, her test a ridiculously hard. Know your material inside and out. If not, get ready to get an unsurprising score. Lab practicals are extremely fun, you are most likely to do well. If you take her form a study group in order to keep up in her class. And I beg you please study 3 weeks ahead for her exams.
Overall, she was a very good teacher. I definitely recommend taking her class in person though. It helped out alot. We played games for every unit to help us learn the material better. Participation matters and you definitely need to buy the book for the terms. On the first day,sit next to people who you think are there to learn for sure. Group work
She is a phenomenal teacher! Her class is hard because you have a lot to remember but she keeps your attention during class. She plays lots of games and gives tons of extra credit. I would take her again!
SUMMER CLASS- Every quiz is found online word for word, so it's up to you to study hard and pretty much teach yourself. There are two exams that need to be taken at JJC and since every quiz was online..I barely prepared. For online at least, you 100% are you're own teacher.
Took her for AP II, and she was absolutely awful! Very sarcastic, would not answer questions when they were asked even if you tried to figure it out on your first, and don't even get me started on her test. Lab and practicals were timed, definitely don't get all the time needed. If you're depending on this grade find another teacher!!
She is the kind of a teacher that works with you until you understand the material, she goes slow, she's very organized, and over all the best teacher I have ever taken at JJC.
I lOVE HER!! I've taken 3 of her classes and would take more. Barely any homework, you learn material and not just memorize like everyone else. As long as you pay attention and study you'll pass no problem. Best lectures ever, she doesn't use PowerPoint, she writes on the board and explains the material slow so you can keep up and actually learn!!!
I absolutely LOVED taking professor Labs anatomy classes. I already love anatomy & she made it even better. She doesn't use power point at all in lectures she writes on the board & goes slow so you can understand the material. The only thing is her tests are hard so you really have to study before and know the material. otherwise she's the best !
Took this class over the summer. Class is composed of 16 20 point quizzes, 2 medical translation papers (additional paper for extra credit), and 2 exams. The textbook is your best friend, use Quizlet, and make sure to stay on top of things. You are on your own for this class and just have the textbook, so make sure to actually study for exams.
I regret taking this class. Professor Lab is an extremely hard test giver. If you have any other responsibilities such as work or children, this might not be the best teacher for you. To pass these test, you would have to devote all extra time to studying and reading. It's not multiple choice, it's essays, short answers, and blank pages.
If you are looking for an easy A, walk away now. Professor Lab is tough! If you attend class and study correctly, you will know your stuff and do fine! You do not have to spend your whole life studying if you learn effective studying methods. I feel better prepared for 251 and my career because of Professor Lab!
She gives good lectures but her test are ridiculously hard. She doesn't tell you what she expects from you on the short answers for the test and then marks off points when you don't put exactly what she wants. She's a good teacher but her test are ridiculously hard and you shouldn't take her if you aren't a good test taker.
Lab is a fantastic teacher. She is very clear on whats expected. Lab definitely helped me pick up new studying methods. She has the class play games for review and it may sound silly but the games helped 100%. Her lectures are easy to understand. Overall, stay on top of studying and reading and you're golden. It was honestly a fun class.
Professor Lab is a tough teacher and it took awhile to fully appreciate her style. Her tests are very difficult and contain no multiple choice. Don't let that scare you from taking her. She will make you learn A&P front and back. I believe this helped me get a good grade on the TEAS exam and helped get into the nursing program. Very good Professor
I took bio 100 8 week online course with her and she basically just tells you to read the book and thats it. She has no help from her and she will ignore your questions/emails when she doesnt like what you tell/ask her. There is at home quizzes for every chapter and a midterm and final @ school DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!
Professor Lab does NOT use power point. Her lectures were boring and hard to follow. Always made me feel stupid and talked down to me when ever I had a question. Her test were near impossible, no matter how long I studied for them. (They are ALL written, multiple choice doesn't exist to her).
Excellent Medical Terminology professor. I heard shes not the best with A&P but if you're able to take her for BIO100 you should! Organized and easy to follow lectures/ notes, clear deadlines, and willing to help her students. Study and do the homework and its very easy to pass. One of the best teachers I've had so far!
Professor Lab is clear on what is expected for you to get a good grade in her class. Be prepared to spend a good amount of time studying because this class is almost all memorization. She does do review games before all exams, and make sure to participate in them.
Professor Lab is amazing. She plays review games before exams and is very clear on everything. Make flash cards, itll help. I definitely recommend her.
She is the best professor I have ever taken. Her class is insanely hard, but it honestly forced me to figure out the best way of studying for me to receive a good grade. If you are interested in medicine or nursing I would highly recommend taking her, because I learned the absolute most from her. Lecture notes are very organized and professional.
She is nice, but she sometimes talks to her students like they are stupid. She is a tough grader so your research paper is going to be tough. Her tests were very hard for me, and includde a lot of writing. At first I thought quizzes/tests wouldn't be terrible because she explains and give lots of notes. But she didnt test over what she had us write
Easily one of the best professors I ever had. Shes very kind and is clear on what is to be done. Before an exam she sets up a game to play to help study. I never liked group projects, but this was an exception as this group was amazing. Make flash cards, those help.
I took Professor Lab for Bio 100 and Bio 250. Really liked both and will be taking her again for 251. She is a caring teacher and a very fair grader. I feel like A&P is a hard class but she is always avalible for questions during and outside of class. Her tests are tough but as long as you pay attention, you will do fine.
Very quick grader. I took her for online class. The study guide she gives you for exams is helpful. I would A&P is a lot of work, as a online class you get what you put in. You can't put your grade on the teacher. Her exams are based off of the study guide. There may be a lot of work, but this helps prepare for exams.
This professor will give you instructions on an assignment and when you completely follow directions she will give you a zero because you didnt follow directions. When you email her about it she gives you a whole list of things she felt like should have been included that were never included in the instructions. You can make up work for 0 points.
She is super hard and super non understanding... tests have very little time and she gives no lectures or zoom meetings (this is online course because of Covid) she just tells us what pages to read and does not give us a study guide and my class average is a 70 % and I do not recommend SUPER HARD and STRESSFUL.
Very nice lady and response to emails quickly. Grades very quickly as well. Able to submit assignments as many times as you want until you get the desired grade. 3 attempts at quizzes. However, once you take a quiz you can't go back to see what you needed to fix. You don't know what you did wrong and she gives unhelpful feedback. 10x harder online.
Nice person, but wouldn't recommend for online classes. Class averages were C's on most tests. She didn't do video meetings or give us PowerPoints. Questions asked often weren't in the book or were in places she didn't mention. Slow grader & gave poor feedback on how to fix answers. Quizzes & assignments did have multiple attempts which was nice.
Had her as a sub when she took over my Anatomy class and she is an AMAZING teacher. She is so kind and explains everything thoroughly. Tells you what you need to know and don't need to know. Gives you ways to remember anatomy.
I took A&P with professor Lab. I felt like she was a nice person but her online quizzes are difficult, low resolution slides and you often didnt know what was being pointed to to be labeled, and typically not over things we went over. I do not recommend taking class with her online.
43 question exams in 30 minutes is her standard. 11 questions quizzes in 5 minutes. If you aren't super quick with the material, good luck. The exams make or break your grade as most assignments are worth 2 points. All the material comes straight from the textbook so definitely worth getting it. Prof Lab is nice but she doesnt teach the material.
Make sure to get assignments in on time and this class is a breeze! all the work is straightforward and she is quick to respond to emails for help. only quirk I found was shes very hard on her deadlines- no late work. I can understand that though. Her study guide given in the module was very helpful do use it.
Lots of HW assignments worth only 2-3pts. The exams basically determine your grade. Quizzes with 10 questions have a 5min time limit. The exams have roughly 40 questions with a 30mim time limit. Prof. Lab will not tell you which questions were marked incorrectly on exams & you cannot go back to check. She has a slightly passive aggressive attitude
I had such an amazing semester with Professor Lab!!! 10/10 one of the BEST biology professors 3
Good professor, You need to do all assignments in order to maintain a good grade.
She is very passive aggressive. When you have a question about the material she is very rude and condescending while explain it. The exams are written by her and they are very hard, much of what is on the exams is not covered in the lectures/ demonstrations.
I took the 8 week online course. The professor provides a digital version of the book which is great so no need to buy it. The study guides she provides mirror the tests with a short answer. Very easy to do good on tests and quizzes if you do study guide. Very fast paced homework due everyday. If you keep up with work you will do great!
She is a really great professor!
Professor Lab is a pretty good professor to have online. I never had her in person so I can not speak on that but she was very helpful to me at the beginning of the course but did not seem to have much personality. She was unequivocal on what we needed to do for the week and helped guide students in the right direction if stumped.
I had her for in person it's more of a self taught class. She makes her own tests that are difficult. She does not provide study guides. Some assignments have lots of work and are only worth 2 points. I understand that this is a heavy course material I just feel like professor lab was no help instead she made it more difficult than it needed to be
Do not take her. If you have a life outside of class, you will not pass. Lots of homework and she deducts lots of points for a smallest things incorrect. She doesnt drop the lowest exam grade which alot of other profs do. She makes this class harder than it already is. Her exams are extremely hard. I studied 20 hours for one and got a failing grade
Worst teacher I ever had. Her tests are so hard, I studied so much in this class, and each exam I did awful on. We had an exam each week basically, and on top of that a bunch of workload that's only worth 1 point. If you are taking this class, my advice would be make friends with people so you can help each other out.
She is the most kind professor I have had during my tenure at Joliet Junior. Work hard and study, and you will be rewarded. She is an amazing Professor who evidently displays great teaching skills, communication, and knowledge. You will not regret taking her course!
Professor Lab was a great professor for BIO 100 but was extremely specific on how she wanted assignments completed. The course was easy but because it is basically spelling and definitions, definitely double check your work before submitting. She graded very fast and gave feedback. I would take again.
The submissions are usually due the week they were assigned but if you turn it in on time, she will tell you what to fix and you can fix it until you get it correct and you will receive full points. Her notes are handwritten, which I prefer but I also advise voice recording your lessons because she makes very helpful side comments while lecturing.
Do not take her online class! In all other online classes I've taken, the assignments are due at 11:59 on a select day of the week. She has assignments due every single day. Not good for people who take online classes due to having a busy schedule. She assigned group projects for this ONLINE COURSE as well.
I took the cadaver dissection course with Professor Lab and highly recommend taking this course if you are going into health care. She is a very good professor who makes her standards clear. This is all lab work, practicals, and exams. She gives great feedback on all assignments and is very caring!
I took her short class and the work load was a lot but easy. As long as you finish 1 packet a week you'll be on top of things. Everything was online so it was very easy to stay ahead on work. If you're a slow tester this class is good because you get around 40 minutes for a simple word quiz. The exams are on the packets so they are also easy.
I'm giving her a 3 because in my experience, she is a pretty tough grader. You lose points over the smallest things and there's a lot of homework assignments. Some assignments she'll tell you to write about a topic and if you didn't mention something, you lose points even though it was never explicitly stated and you wont know until she grades it.
The worst "professor" I have ever had. She is very rude over email, homework is due on random days of the week, her instructions on assignments/tests/quizzes aren't clear, so be prepared to get points off for HER mistakes. If you want to struggle with mental health, her class is the one for you. If you want to keep your sanity, DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!
Great professor! She gives you 3 chances to turn in an assignment to get full credit. She is EXTREMELY organized! I never got lost. She gives about 2-3 assignments weekly. To succeed in her class just make sure you are present, and to study.
As a student who works very hard and prides herself on putting in the work to learn, this class was just truly exhausting. Professor Lab is a VERY difficult individual. She speaks to students with disrespect and expects you to have the knowledge of A&P that she does when you walk in. Her tests are crazy, including a whole essay portion.
Class layout is very easy to follow, there are about 2-3 assignments per week (including quizzes and tests). There is one group project that I found difficult, as it was an online course. Certain multiple-choice questions are just A&P-based, having nothing to do with the medical words. No feedback on tests unless asked for. Good teacher overall.
Her cadaver dissection class is awesome! Great hands-on experience, and she was extremely helpful during class time. Lab practicals were easy, and the lecture exams were hard but not so bad if you've taken 250 and 251 recently.
