Great prof.!! If i could I would take the class again. Very interesting, and really knows her stuff. Extremely approachable, and you can ask her anything and everything about sex. Makes you feel comfortable when asking the most embarrassing questions. I have never seen her mad, and she is always laughing (we nicknamed her giggles :D

Best teacher in Concordia, I have completed 50 credits and she is A+ so far... She is a fair grader. No embarrassing presentations, simply attending and listening, writing a good paper is all she requires. ASK her ANY question about sex, she will know it!!! She is always smiling and laughing! Amazing class. Great teacher. She is extremely knowledgable and knows everything about sex! Open environment in each class and she makes you feel welcome. Attendance is mandatory, especially for the three quizzes. The two papers are marked hard though. The first is an autobiography and the second is a research/critique paper. Loved the class!

She's great, she's smart and has been on dragons den the show and got a deal with all the dragons she's probably rich now. She's knows her material and sometimes brings food for her students which is awesome. You will learn a lot strongly recommend. Ps many girls in this class.

Mitelman's class is light in theory and amusing. She requires participation as the class needs people to work together. Despite what she says, her quizzes rely on small details during your readings. Beware! Choose your teammates with caution, as group work determines your grade.

Stephanie was an awesome teacher. Her class was the most easiest one. We only had 3 quizzes based on the readings from the book and one paper about our personal reflection on our results from the MBTI test. We only have one project to do and honestly talking i loved doing that project with my teammates. Totally recommend taking her.

The textbook is mandatory, however, the assigned readings are worth reading. Her quizzes and assignments are easy. She wants all of her students to succeed. She values attendance so show up.

Stephanie was the best teacher I've had at Concordia, I took her 3 times throughout uni. She's extremely organised when it comes to assignments & always provides feedback explaining exactly how you got your mark. The class is engaging. There's a lot of reading required that is accompanied by chapter quizzes. The course content can sometimes bring-up emotions and also question your behavior and actions. I actually took two of her classes. She is truly a professor that cares about her students. What I enjoyed most about her classes was how she was living what she was teaching. In order to teach students about having an open mind, one must have an open mind. Though it is a chill and fun class, you do learn a lot and more importantly unlearn a lot.

i really enjoyed this prof, one of my favourites in university so far. the lectures are clear and the exams are fair. a lot of material is covered though and the class moves fast with a quiz each week so only take if you are a student that is up to date in your work. Out of all the courses I have taken, the material that was taught in this course stuck with me the most because of how the material was covered in discussions and examples rather than just reading through it. I went through some personal issues during the semester and she was very accommodating to giving extensions on quizzes and assignments. She is very approachable and gives great feedback and advice. There were many sensitive topics in the course so setting a safe space allows for free flowing discussions. 10/10 would recommend and take her again!

I took AHSC-355 with this teacher. She was respectful, used appropriate & inclusive language in class. She also made sure to show interest in students beyond than just class material. Would take this teacher again.

The lectures were clear and interesting. We did not have any quizzes but the papers and group projects helped understanding the topics even more. The teacher was open to talk to and has shown inclusion and professionalism.

I had this professor for AHSC 355 but that was not an option on this site, regardless I had an amazing experience with professor Mitelman, she understands the material very well and makes every class more interesting than the last. She is inspirational, so much so that I have taken 2 of her courses. She is amazing and I recommend her class to all.

I took Ms. Stephanie for two classes this semester, AHSC 312 and AHSC 355. I really enjoyed both and looked forward to lectures each week. She is an amazing professor who cares about her students as much as her field. If you have the opportunity, take Ms. Mitleman. I promise you won't regret it.

AHSC 311 with Ms Mitelman was a wonderful time. Participation is important but she really makes an effort to make sure everyone is engaged and understanding the content. She truly displays a great knowledge and passion for what she teaches, and I'd recommend her to anyone!

Stephanie was a great prof, she made lessons active and engaging, so although there was a good amount to cover, the way she teaches and involves the class made this semester a breeze. would recommend.theres three quizzes, one essay, and one group presentation. you can only miss a max of two classes, but its easy to catch up incase you fall behind.

Honestly a great learning experience. Attendance does matter and it does take her long to grade but she also runs engaging lectures and keeps the classes light for the most part.

311 was the first time that I had Ms Mitelman as a prof, she's caring, kind, open minded and respectful towards her students. I really enjoyed her class and it showed that she knew her material like the back of her hand. Posts lectures, you watch them before class, then does a review in class and there is weekly quizzes worth 5%. So your grade is 50% quizzes, 10% participation/attendance and 40% 14 page paper which is due after spring break. She is strict, and does have an attitude (have heard MANY STORIES), but never had any personal issues with her.

She was helpful when I needed her and caring. She made the class fun and I honestly like teachers who are engaging.

The format of the course was wonderful for someone like me who took it as an elective, the material was interesting and important, I really enjoyed this class. I also felt like this class was objectively pretty easy since we didn't have tons and tons of papers to write and could really focus on learning the material.

Stephanie had to grow on me, at first I didn't like her attitude, just very snarky and entitled but as I got to know her it got a lot better. She is really knowledgable and real which can sometimes come off as a bit rude. She still has some annoying class habits like leaving the windows open then it's freezing but overall a good class. while it is test heavy she goes over everything and not as bad as it sounds, overall she is easy to talk to and feels like a friendly discussion more than strict.

Gives a quiz every class but it's ligit five questions and she goes over the answers in her lecture before you take it impossible to mess up. The essay was a bit long but the videos we had to watch were actually super informative and interesting and you complete it early in the semester so its out of your hair when exams come up

Pros: The teaching style is a mix of facilitation, seminar discussions, and interactive activities (e.g., ice breaker) allowed me to build my facilitation skills and recognize areas for growth. Cons: The weekly exams workload was heavy, but they helped me stay organized and better manage other courses with midterms and finals.

This course was indeed easy, but this prof delivered it in a way that was engaging and promoted conversations among the students. Would not recommend if you are an extreme introvert - lots of conversations and group work. Overall, she clearly cares, and wants her students to succeed, so I'd certainly recommend her to anyone.
