She's cool. Has lots of interesting and funny background. Talks a lot about her kid. Has entire semester on powerpoint and does not test beyond her notes. Only reason to buy book is b/c of online homework (kind of a waste). Tests are a cinch, IF you study a bit every day. Kick ass on first 3 and you needn't take the final! Best prof for physio.
she's such a sweetheart! very nice, understanding, and flexible. go to lecture or else some of her notes dont make sense bec its bullet pt and memorize them! dont bother buying the BOOK! she has many ways to get points, not just exams. veryy good class and very FAIR prof!
Very nice person. Her evolution class was not as easy as people from physio make it out to be, but she is definitely not out to get anyone. She does a good job teaching and she expects people to know their stuff for the exams. Would highly recommend.
She makes sure you know the material and has no problem going over something again if you don't understand.
The Nicest professor you will ever meet in your college career. Very Fair, although i had her in a 700 person lecture, she still would go over questions asked by the students. She is Very thorough and tests are not bad if you study! GOOD PICK
if you do not take this professor you are out of your mind. even if you hate the subject, there should be no reason to do bad on her tests. they are very straight forward and come from the study guide almost directly. you must go to lecture but who cares. you learn and she wont let u leave until she knows that you know the material inside out.
very good teacher. goes over everything in detail. however, i am disturbed to find out that she played Jabba the Hut in the Star Wars movies. Plus: she loves the monkeys.
She is one of the BEST teachers EVER! I came to bio scared thinking It was going to be horrible but seroiusly EASIEST teacher! her exams are easy but you still have to study the study guide. she makes sure all of her 800 students understand the material if you dont take her you're Cccraazy I aced her class like that! =)
Actually everyone said she was really nice. . . she is only sometimes. She gets really angry very fast. She is not very easy to approach, as a matter of fact she can be really RUDE!!!!! Her class is really easy (if you come to lecture and take good notes). DO NOT READ THE TEXT!
Extremely knowlegeable, while at the same hard very difficult to follow in lecture. She's rather scattered during her lectures and focuses on interruptions in a class of 700+, which leads to a lot of wasted time.
VERY EASY AND VERY NICE PROFESSOR! I didn't pay attention most of the time in class b/c I was so tired from my other hard classes and might occassionally doze off; but not to be rude. She was WAY too lenient and let the students get away with a lot of things (asking questions to much). The 50 question multiple choice comes from powerpoint slides.
This is the best bio teacher I have ever had if you attend lecture and look over your notes you will get an A for sure. She really knows how to teach and makes sure that you understand the material also if you do good on your exams you dont have to take the final. If you can definately take her shes really good.
The class itself is not overly difficult if you study, however she can be quite disagreeable. She is very unapproachable as a teacher, however the SI sessions can answer your questions. Take her as a prof only if no other better ones fit your schedule.
Awesome prof. great lectures, makes topics as interesting as they can be! people who say she's not nice b/c she yells aren't stuck in the back of the 750-person lecture hall unable to hear over the noise of people talking. she tried to make the class a positive experience for everyone
She is the best bio Pro. I ever had. The class is really easy if you go over the notes and memorize them. Her notes are very simplified and not a lot to memorize. I highly recommend this teacher.
Okay teacher. Test are 50Q one hour to complete+ fill out scan + get in the door with you other 700 classmates. This leave about 45 min for the actual exam. Lecture comes from Powerpoint slides. Do good in lab!!!and u might not have 2 take the final
very easy prof. loved her didn't even feel like i was in 4000 level course!! had an easy ride. her 2nd exam was the most challenging but that's b/c there was too much material on the exam. she is easy and i highly recommend her. if u want to have an easy ride then take her. but if u want to actually learn the subject in depth, then she is okay.
good prof, easy class. you need the book tho, and I have a brand new one still in the shrink wrap from fall 06. feel free to email me if u wanna buy it. i bought it online for 150 (B and N sells for like 200). Ill let it go for 100. email me.
very good professor. exams were lecture based, and she was easy to understand. go to lecture, or listen from online..i would highly recommend her for bio. she makes the class interesting
SHE IS SO AWESOME!!! For the idiots saying she's rude, you can't meet a nicer person than Dr. Pandolfi. Unlike other BIO or science profs. she cares that her students actually learn. If you stay on top of your**** and follow and pay attention in lecture you'll do more than good. Didn't really use the book.
Great professor. Funny and sweet. Test are very fair and complement the material taught. Book is not very necessary. Most of the questions on the tests are straight off of her lecture notes. Attend lectures and take good notes. Study guides are very helpful

I really liked this class. She won't test you on anything not gone over in class, and she makes sure everything confusing is gone over enough. All the lectures are recorded so class is optional. The lab is awful.
Just show up to lecture and know what she goes over and you will pass.
she def. easier than other bio profs but you gotta come to lecture actually pay attention and take pretty good notes. shes really fair and wants her students to pass. shes not out to get you at all...some test ?'s can be tricky but for the most part shes fair. I def. would take her class again.
Class was interesting. Book can be confusing and is not used enough to buy, (I used Wikipedia more). She teaches right off powerpoint slides and puts them on blackboard. Tests are 50 questions and multiple choice. If you have any trouble with the material, I suggest going to Supplimental Intruction to clear it up
This teacher is not very good. Just didn't like her at all, or the structure of the class.
awesome teacher!! i loveee how she teaches!! the lab was hard though, stupid TA's honestly!! i hope she teaches micro!
She is awesome! Pay attention in class, take notes, study what she tells you to study for the exams, and you will get an A!
She is rude and completely useless in the help department. She has a horrible attitude and ego problem. If you have to take her, make sure that you work around your schedule to go to the SI sessions! She doesn't allow you to make up exams for ANY reason as well. My Mom passed away, I had proof she didn't let me make up an exam! She is evil.
She is a pretty good teacher. It actually helps going to class because she is very clear and easy to understand. She also provides slides for everything that will be covered on the test. She then goes over those slides every day. Her test are hard however, but not impossible.
good.
Never opened the book once for studying. She makes it very clear on the first day that her tests are from her lectures not from the book and its true. She provides all lecture notes on Power Point. Tests are VERY tricky. She words the questions very undesireable. She has nothing to do with lab but the lab portion (esp 1st test) is very hard.
try to do ur best on the inclass assignments because she does not give points very easily. for the exam, write out the study guides with examples. but dont remember the examples. understand the concepts instead of memorizing them b/c her exams are more application of knowledge to examples rather than from pure memory.
I got a B and a C on the first two tests than I started filling out the study guide while in class...I got 102% on the 4th exam and 98.3% on the final. Along with a good lab grade I slipped out with an A-....I'm happy! The exam questions are worded a bit tricky so make sure you comprehend the material not just memorize it !
Doctor P is a pretty cool teacher. She LOVES bio and knows her stuff. Like any college level class, this class does require effort on your behalf- but nothing outrageous. Just be prepared for lecture, pay attention, and if you're feeling really motivated- GO TO SI! It really helps to clear up any cloudy parts, or just strengthen your overall understanding.
I took Histo b/c I thought Marty was gonna teach it then I got Pandolfi. She dosen't know much in biology, she always cancels class, and she can never answer a question b/c she dosen't know the answer. Terrible teacher, don't take her!!! She's a nice lady tho, nothing personal.
Dr. Pandolfi tries hard, but she really isn't a very good lecturer. Her test questions are written extremely poorly and she regularly starts class late. However, she does provides PDF Letcure Notes (from PowerPoints) and allows you to keep your test booklets. Don't bother buying the book, she doesn't adhere to it. Just study the lecture notes...
Pretty easy teacher.Puts her notes up on BlackBoard, just be sure to fill in on the side whatever else she says about the matter-as much as possible.4 exams+optional final, pretty easy,1-5 questions are tricky but about 90% of the test questions are easy and straight from notes-so study them.Lab was harder than lecture, study for lab exams hardcore.
She is a great teacher and knows her stuff. She has tricky questions but what would you expect from someone who writes for USMLE. I would say take her for any bio class you can
A good teacher but sometimes is unorganized which can throw off flow of class. Pay attention in class then go back & listen to lectures & take thorough notes b/c lecture notes from BB aren't thorough enough to get above a B on tests. Test ?'s are a bit tricky so take time and read b/c u can overlook minor details. Found SI very helpful.
A fair and straight forward teacher. Goes out of her way to try to make sure everyone understands the material. Occasional poorly worded questions and doesn't keep the volume of the class under control (angered me, I'm sure if you're yacking its good since you won't get in trouble). Over all a good professor, taking her for cell bio, looks good.
Dr. pandolfi has got to be one of the best profs here. her lectures are all you need to study, never opened the book once. when it comes to exams she is a bit tricky tho so make sure you know your material
Dr. P is a really good professor. I highly recommend her. As long as you study the powerpoint slides, you'll do fine. Save yourself and don't buy the Biology book, bc her lecture is the only thing on the exam!
Very Good Prof. Take her. She will help you with any questions most of the time the same day! I enjoyed this class even though i hate the subject
Generally cares that students do well. Goes out of her way to help you, if you go to her office hours. Very clear, concise and helpful examples. Makes Bio EASY!!!! Tests are all multiple choice and really, really easy!
such a GOOD professor, i loved her teaching style. everything was very CLEAR and to the point, recorded lectures made everything very helpful. fair exams. she's funny too so lecture wasnt bad at all to attend. only downside is CPS.. which makes attendance very important.
dont be fooled by this lady. everyone said she would be great but when she started teaching 1500 she screwed the class over. she did curve the exams but still. i mean i guess its my fault for getting a C but still, the class was way to much to handle if your taking another science. memorize her slides!! answer every clicker question right!!
She is a very good professor with no ego. Dont buy the book, she doesn't use it. Uses a clicker for points, multiple choice exams with one drop. If you study you will get an A easily. Take her over Freeman or any others.
By far THE WORST professor I've had. Can't stay on topic, very easily looses her concentration, wastes time answering questions from "teacher's pets". Overall just horrible. Maybe it's because she is teaching multiple classes could be it but from what i see i dont know how all these people could say she is a good teacher.
She is the most unfair professor ever! We just had an exam and she still has not posted the grades in a week because her exam was very unfair. Went to all the lectures and all the SI sessions and I still think I bombed on her test! The level she is teaching on does not belong in an intro to bio course! She takes offense to constructive criticism an
THE BEST PROF. EVER. people complain about her and say she is really hard but she is not. show up to lecture is helpful but not necessary. i got two A's on the two exams i took with her just by studying the slides. there was nothing on the exam that wasnt on the slides. she makes the material as interesting as it can get. Loved Her!!!!
She knows her stuff, but she didn't use a book & you pretty much had to depend on her lectures to get good grades. That's why u need to relisten to her lectures more than once online. She watches you like a hawk in class & her voice is nagging(typical mom!) How do you find her class? Look for her desktop screen b4 every lecture-it's pix of her son!
She was generally a good prof. but it was irritating when she stopped to deal with people talking in class. Can be strict, but seems to care for her students.
I've had Dr. P for 2 classes now and will seek her out for more classes. there was a girl, charity, who wrote nasty, inappropriate e-mails to the whole class (including Dr. P - DUH!) that sound just like the 2 complaints dated 3/5 and 3/10 - a jaded person who obviously couldn't deal with a college-level class! don't listen to her - take Dr. P!!!
she is a very nice, helpful professor. her exams could be a little tricky, but thats what ur supposed to get in college. she is also well prepared
Great she really care for students
Firstly, I don't understand why all these kids love Pandolfi; They jusy like her because they got an Easy A. All she does is rewrite info from the book and reads it in class. Instead of asking questions which are relevant to the material taught in class, she comes up with retarded metaphorical questions. Go back to studying monkeys!
If you GO TO CLASS and PAY ATTENTION she is a great teacher. Tests are really easy if you take notes during lecture. Get your hands on hold tests, alot of the questions/concepts are reused. I went to class about 95% of the time, took notes, rewrote the notes/slides together, and studied off old exams and never got below a 92% on an exam.
Go to class. Take notes in lecture. Study power point slides and you should be set. Explains things well and tries to keep things interesting.
I dont see whats so great. Her tests are extremely confusing! she blows through the lecture slides like a tornado, barely got a chance to write down what she was saying. she was a nice person and really knew her stuff, but could take some more teaching lessons. I concur though, never opened the book.
Print her slides and then take extra notes on them. She says a lot of things during lecture that are not on the slides. Her tests are completely from the notes. Just memorize EVERYTHING on the lecture slides and EVERYTHING extra u wrote down. There is no need to buy a book. The lab is what will kill your grade. The lab exams are very hard to study
I retoke the class after I had sodja. She was so nice and was great about answering questions, even stupid ones. Exams were from notes and book. Great prof!
She was really respectful to her students. She always made sure that we understood what she was teaching.
She's funny with her stories because all she ever talks about is her kid. I had her two years ago for 1510 and now for anatomy and she hasn't changed a bit. She's a good prof, makes sure we understand everything but you definitely have to study her slides.
The easiest BIO teacher at wayne. I wish i have her for anatomy too.. everything off her slides... i basically read the slides along with the text book night before test and got high As and even a 100% on one of the tests...TAKE HER!!!
She is very rude to the class, is always in a hurry and the exams are impossible! If you take no other classes and study 24/7 this will be the class for you.
She a nice teacher, but what the hell was up with the cirriculum. It was real diffucult. Study the slides, and everything extra. Book is useless. Do well on pre and post lectures.
Very good teacher...but you don't use the textbook at all. Just make sure to print off her slides and all and use them to study. Tests are hard, but you have to study.
Pandolfi definately knows what she is talking about. You will learn a lot if you take her. The only bad thing is her exams are HARD. The study guides she gives are way more broad then the test. If you memorize, you will fail - everything is conceptual.
Honestly, she wasn't that great! she's nice and all but her tests are really confusing even if you memorized EVERYTHING. it's not that the material is hard, she just uses akward wording and it costs ur points. BIG TIME.
Where do I start? Dr. P is one of my favorite bio professor at WSU. Her lectures are crystal clear and her exams are always fair. Make sure you NEVER skip lecture bc everything you need for the exam is covered during class. Always there to help her students no matter what the situation might be. I cant wait until she teaches higher bio classes =].
Shes a good prof! Her tests are hard if u dont understand the concepts behind the material. Just go to lect and take notes. U will learn alot from her. Even if you miss she posts lect on blkbrd so u can get what u missed. She is always willing to help her students. I recommend her to any1 that wants to learn a&p not just memorize it.
The tests are pretty hard but not impossible. You have to memorize her powerpoint slides and underrstand the conceptual stuff. If you start studying a couple weeks in advance you will do well. The material isn't hard...there's just a lot of it. Go to SI for help studying.
Good god this class was unbearably hard! Just take physical anthropology, its sooo much easier!
great prof just memorize her slides word for word. she says that there is no curve but in the end there is defintely a curve. bio 1500 Lab is sooooooo hard though
overall good professor. tests are on what she says in lecture and over the slides. it's mandatory that you study and if you do, you'll do fine on the tests. attendance is mandatory if you want to pass. also, she does use CPS so you'll get a few extra points by coming to class
She is a very nice teacher. Very helpful and cares about her students.
Hardest professor of my life. I hated this class. It was impossible!!
Dr. P is a great teacher. She provides a ton of ways to help her students. Power points, handouts on blackboard as well as recording her lectures. She's great and knows her stuff.
She is way tooooo hard. The class was intro. to biology so it shouldn't have been that hard. She is getting fired after this semester so maybe thats why she doesn't care. I came to almost all lect. & studied A LOT & still leaving with a C! If you can, take someone else...someone better! Although lectures are interesting, tests aren't related..hard!
The biology book is absolutely horrible, one of the worst ive ever used. The information in the book and on the slides is sporadic and kind of just pulled together. All in all though, she was a great teacher, very casual and makes people laugh. Loved to answer students' questions. My only grief was how terrible the book-power point relation was.
(Continuing a previous entry.) After considering the class more, I agree with the comments about the tests. They were actually quite hard for this "intro" class. I took a similar class at another college and finished with a B, here Im fighting for a C. The Lab for this class varies, but my TA was almost unreasonable with the 2 lab tests(too hard.)
I think she was a really good teacher. I still remember eveything I learned in her class. The lab is extremely difficult.
For the most part, she was a good teacher. She bases her exams from her lecture notes, so its' either you go to class, listen to them via podcast or get them from another student. The book was used mostly for homework purposes, which she posts prior to the lecture.
To those of you saying glad she was fired, you are out of your minds. I had her for BIO 1510 and 1500 and not only was she one of the nicest professors at WSU, she was also one of the easiest if you just came to class and paid attention. To those of you low enough to mention her son, it's her maternal instinct that made her so approachable.
Most useless and toughest teacher ever. Went to all the lectures, paid attention, and still bombed the tests. I'm an A student, but got a really bad grade in her class.
She was very strict. Had an email conduct code that you had to follow, and even though I did that, she ignored all of my emails. She has nothing to do with the lab, and it's ridiculously hard. Seemed arrogant. I don't even know how I got a C in that class, but thank God. And I'm an honors student, so it's not like I'm stupid. Wouldn't reccommend.
GREAT Prof!!! She really tried to make sure that you understood the material. Most teachers get off by tripping students up and failing them, but she would do her best to make sure you did your best! I'm so upset that because of some students ignorance she is no longer a prof here because I think she was one of the best in the Bio dept!
