She is an excellent teacher,, I have taken bhs 103 and got an A without putting any effort, if you get less than a B in this class you must slacking or just plain dumb. I recommend anyone taking bhs classes take her. You will not regret it at all.

She is the best for BHS. Really interesting and fun to listen to. Her classes fill up on the first day of registration so don't wait around.

I dropped Miller's class to take hers and she is so much better. She has great lectures and really gets excited about things. She is always professional and always nice.

Excellent instructor. She is very interesting and makes the material seem exciting. She is a very nice person and really wants the students to do well in her class. Some of the other BHS teachers will put you to sleep but she really makes the class fun.

This was the easiest class I have ever taken. And she tells you that at the beginning of the semester. Her lectures are great, and you can tell that she loves teaching and knows what shes doing!

AWESOME TEACHER!! Very enjoyable class. And even if you don't need anthro...take it. I have used my knowledge from that class in my science classes and philio classes.

Very easy class and she knew her stuff but WAY to opinionated and forces her political views upon you which I found to be a big turn off. Nevertheless, her tests are easy and I would recommend her as an easy A, just tune her opinions out and you'll be fine

She is a prime example of the Socialist agenda that has infiltrated American education. Although her grading is fair, she is extremely opinionated and does not allow room for a different view to be heard. Unfortunatly this class is required; the class ahould be called Anti-American sediments 101.

Ms. Lopez is an absolutely wonderful teacher. Goes out of her way to explain the subject at hand. Her tests, although harder in the nature of being long answer and essay, allow for her to base your grade on your individual needs

She made class easy. Ms Roberg-lopez wants u to pass...meaning she will give u extra credit and offer to tutor you b4 each test. She gives u the test b4 hand that way you know what to study.

Mrs. Roberg-Lopez was a fantastic teacher who, on more than one occassion, asked if anyone who shared a different opinion would like to add to the discussion. To the person who said shes a socialist and that her class should be "anti-american sediments" or whatever - that statement is so ridiculous it made me laugh..and laugh...and laugh. Thanks

What a sweetie. She does get caught up in her own personal stories from time to time, but always finds a way to make it relevant to the class. One of the most interesting courses I've ever taken..really makes you think.

Wonderful,the best teacher I ever had. Really lights your fire about learning. Very understanding and helpful.Great in using herself and family as examples of the material she teaches. The most down to earth person I have ever met. A real inspiration. I've taken 3 classes with her and cannot get enough. I keep coming back for more.

Excellent teacher. She was kind of pushy with her views, she welcomed others opinions but when they voiced them, she shot them down. But overall she knows a lot and her class is very easy. You'll learn a lot.

LOVE HER! She is not only the greatest teacher i've ever meet but also the greatest human being. She can get a lil nutty and s/times be very left wing but she's funny and makes you want to strive 2 better y/self, I want to grow up to be just like her lol

fun as all hell! but VERY disorganized. don't expect her to remember anything. she'll help you if your struggling, if you remind her. so into her job that she needs a sedative.

Stephanie was wonderful. She was so concerned with every student not just understanding, but enjoying the class. She will help you in anyway, you just have to ask for it.

One of the most pasionate, and learned Professors I've every had. It was a joy studying with her. She is very conected with the students and has a great sense of humor. She's fun and interesting and her classes are pretty easy if you pay attention. I liked her but it got kind of annoying sometimes, like when she would constantly throw her views out there even though I agree with a lot of them.

Jumping on the band wagon - obv shes good. Take as an elective since not many of us actually need archeology classes. Harvard/Yale/Oxford trained and studied/works with world authorites. Real deal. Bridges gap between being an upstate comm coll student and someone who actually has an intellectual impact on the world. No book needed, wikkipedia.

Amazing teacher very clear voice funny and smart.She not only studied under Margaret Mead but is one of the top archeologists of her field she is published many times and actually has a true and deep passion for what she teaches if you are open to her she can really spark a passion to a total new subject for you like not many teachers can now adays

Amazing professor! Really, really funny. She tells a lot of stories that are ~relevant to the topic. She does use the textbook a lot. Her tests are pretty easy as long as you study (she gives you the essay questions before hand). Definitely take her class!

She is my god.Absolutely AMAZING. Couldn't have asked for a better prof. for this class. She is very liberal, but Reps. don't let that scare you, take her class and LEARN SOMETHING. Trust me she wants to teach you. SO passionate about her subject. You do HAVE to study though. Class isn't a total breeze. Extra Credit gets added ON YOUR AVERAGE.

Broken down, the class is 5 quizzes (We skipped 1 because we talked a lot in class, she just picked our highest quiz grade and doubled it). Quizzes are 1 chapter, 5 vocab. questions, and 1 essay + Ex. Credit. Gives you 2 essays before just doesn't tell which is on the quiz. Final and midterm are same format but longer. Can't miss 25% of classes.

I took a BHS class and 3 Anthro classes with her. Stephanie is the best professor I've ever had. Her tests can be hard if you're not good at memorizing vocab but she's the only professor I've had that actually made going to class fun and worth it. She's exciting, brilliant, and she really cares about her students. Take a class with her if you can!!

I took her 1 credit Shakers class & LOVED it. She did her thesis on the Shakers so she knows what she's talking about. The class was interesting and informative and it's only 3 days + a research paper. If you need 1 elective credit take this! She is BEYOND helpful. I didn't even need the class, I just took it because I love her as a teacher.

She's the only social problems teacher that doesn't make you write a paper and doesn't make you take notes but the effect of that is that she's a democratic and so you would have to listen to her point of view on everything but other then that she is AMAZING

She's not only a really great teacher but she's also very caring. She encourgages all of her students to visit her during her office hours even if they don't have a problem. The only thing that I din't like is that she really doesn't liek to listen to anyone else's opinion and that she trys to make you think that she's always right

she opinionated and will let you give you your opinion but it will go in one ear and out the other. for anyone that had her for social problems all you learned was about her quote on quote brown babies and her minority husband in her words how wealthy she is.

Stephanie was hands down the most amazing professor I have ever had. She is the sweetest, most helpful woman you will ever meet. Her BHS 103 class was an easy A if you took notes in lecture and go to extra credit events. I would totally recommend Stephanie over any other professor.

One of the best teachers I have ever seen. She makes the class very interesting and loves teaching. She is there if you need any help and gives baseline quizes that are very easy to do well on if you study.

Gives you extra time to hand in work

You always know what her tests are gonna be on because she tells you before hand. half of the tests are terms which you mostly get from the book - so yes you really need the book. hilarious, genuine, not someone who is afraid to speak her mind. that being said some people find her off putting because they aren't used to such a filterless teacher.

Hilarious and so nice. Isn't afraid to say what she is thinking which some people aren't used to from professors who try and not say their opinions. you don't lose points for having a different opinion so don't worry. a few projects - medium hardness, mostly time consuming. you know what is gonna be on the tests before hand. would take her again.

I have loved every class I have every taken with Stephanie. An amazing teacher and human being. I could not think more highly of her or her teaching style.

She's an easy teacher and cares about her students a lot which is great. Very liberal but if you're not it's still worth taking because it's so easy.

I have never loved a professor so much. She is a hardcore liberal, but she encourages those with different views to speak their minds and start conversations. Quizzes every other week or so, with essay questions given 1 week before. You can buy basically any edition of the textbook. She hates all of them, but they are necessary.

Professor Stephanie Roberg-Lopez is an AMAZING professor. You won't regret taking her for ANY class. She is hilarious, very respected and a very intelligent woman. 10/10 would take her again.

By far the best professor I've had at Dutchess. I have her for Anthropology (BHS204) and Social Problems (BHS103) and I look forward to every class.

I loved having her. I took her class over the summer and I have NEVER had a class CLICK so well! She made class interesting and talked to us like we have brains while still respecting that we may not understand. She is respectful and honest and will give you feedback if you talk to her. It's a LOT of memorization but if you read you'll be fine.

One of the greatest teachers I have ever had

I will take as many courses possible with this woman. This is my 3rd class with her! Had her for Social Probs, Anthro 100, and Anthro 101. She makes time for you, and will even tutor you. She works for YOU, and lets you know how important and capable you are. She made me love school. I LOVE HER!!!

Offers amazing extra credit. Gives you outlines for tests. Attendance does not effect your grade. Texts are vocab and essays.. no multiple choice. If you study and have common sense it's an easy A

Very good teacher, and givesnoo homework, but she expects you to read each required chapter for each class. She gives study guide questions a week before test so you have the opportunity to prepare and study the question(s) you plan to write about. Her tests are only essay questions and vocabulary words. She cares about each student and will help!

She was a really tough grader and NEVER gave a test review before the actual test which annoyed me so much! She also never said exactly what would be on the test which made so much more harder. Definitely don't take this class if you plan to skip because you will fail.

Easily the best professor I've had in my academic career. Her class isn't easy, but her lectures are very easy to follow and she tells you exactly what will be on the test. She also offers amazing extra credit: 15 points onto your AVERAGE. which can bump a C+ (79 average) up to an A (94).

She is really supportive and the kinship chart that she let's you do is quite easy, just make a chart about your family and a paragraph about your fam.

Best Professor at Dutchess, she teaches because she wants to, she has a passion about anthropology. The first test seems scary because over the 200 vocab terms she gives, but she'll literally tell you what vocab words will be on the test if you go to class. Very Nice, overall really enjoyable class.

Wow!! Professor Lopez is BY FAR the best professor I have ever had. She sparked a passion in me for learning I never knew existed. Course material is very interesting, and it's so refreshing to have a professor who truly loves the subject she is teaching. I highly recommend this class to anyone! great prof, STUDY YOUR TERMS

Stephanie is a truly brilliant professor ... she makes you fall in love with Anthropology very quickly. 'Old school' in terms of using only blue-book written tests and old documentaries which have withstood the test of time. Her classes were like an intellectual playground of sorts. Take her if you can no matter the subject!
