Dr. Sipe is great! Attendance is mandatory and there is a very easy 2 question quiz everyday. All the ppts are online. Go to class, read the material, and study the tompson now practice tests and you'll do great. I made a B in the class with minimal effort.
Ms. Sipe is the best. She is a great teacher with first hand experience on the subject. She keeps you interested. You do have to go to class, but I look forward to going. Do what she says and you will get at least a B. Plus she is pretty good looking.
Gives a lot of extra credit. Makes class very enjoyable and fun. Smoking hot for age. If anything you get to look at a hot professor!
Dr. Sipe is one of the rare professors in the COBA that actually cares about her students and the material we learn. The topics are very interesting and the test can be a little hard but for the most part they are great!!
AWESOME Teacher! Lots of fun
Very nice. Make sure you read the book! Tests are T/F MC and Short Answer. She gives a ton of extra credit, even on the tests.
Really an all around great professor. She seems to love her job and her students. Funny and stylish. She cares a lot about the success of the students and even though she works them hard, she makes it fun. Very cute!!
4 test and a final. MANY chances for extra credit. TAKE THEM ALL! Its not hard. Doesn't take attendance but all bonus questions come from in class lectures. Very funny and you will learn alot. She told us she wanted to be known as the tough but fair teacher. This is a very accurate description of how she runs her class.
Great prof! Legal studies, on its own is not an easy course, but she breaks things down so it can be easily comprehended. LOTS OF BONUS POINTS..and definitely take advantage of that, because it helps in the end.
She's a nice teacher (even though she denies it)Her personality is an A but her test are rough. Study study study & an A is possible. (work overload)
Without the work she gives you, you'll fail this class with any other professor. Her tests are easy if you read the chapters and do the online tests... they come straight from those. Easy B, add a little work and you can get an A no problem. Offers plenty of extra credit.
She is very clear and helpfull. But, ber tests are pretty difficult; you need to put a good amount of time into her class. Workload is a good amount, but it is to help you learn the material and it does help. I would reccomend her.
She is a very nice but the course requires a lot of outside work, homework problems and she also has something called a 3 min.expert.pointless but you must be there when she calls your name of your will not get credit. She also uses Cengagenow as a 15% of your class grade, random quiz, test are hard.If your not into doing work 24/7 not for you.
Dr. Sipe might be my favorite professor ever. She is such a good teacher, but she doesn't make it easy on you. Her tests are HARD, but you really learn the material. She makes class very entertaining and worth going. Gives a lot of work but it really helps on the tests. Highly recommend!
Dr. Sipe is an AMAZING professor! She's pretty entertaining, gives memorable examples during lectures & knows her stuff! If you're a slacker, this class is NOT for you! She does her part, but you definitely have to do yours to get a good grade! Her course load requires a good bit of your time. Gives daily quizzes & homework/case studies, but she do
Awesome professor. I took her for my online class and she was very helpful and communicated effectively. If you do all the work which are pretty easy, you will get an easy A.
Great teacher, wants you to understand the material. Down to earth lady who has a good sense of humor. Gives good funny examples to explain law. Tests are hard but your good if you study.
Dr. Sipe was a lawyer, so she knows the material extremely well and makes it interesting. She has a quiz every day on the previous lecture, and many homework assignments, which add up to a lot of participation points for you. Her tests are straightforward on what she taught, and there is lots of extra credit. Definitely recommend.
If she is so good, why isn't she back in DC arguing in front of the supreme court. She wants you to be a lawyer and act like one with here questions. A lot of hoop, no message. Not worth her as a teacher
She was not very helpful. Does not do a good job of covering what will be on the test. Not very clear on what was going on in class.
I signed up for this class before Dr.Sipe turned it into a hybrid- although I prefer not to take online classes, Dr.Sipe is awesome and very helpful. When we are in class, she is sure to review all material and help everyone to understand the material. She is hilarious and even though this class is tough, she is the ideal teacher for the course!!
She seems to have too much going on to be as effective as I believe she should be as a teacher. Still wants the class to do well and shows it with extra credit opportunity and willingness to answer questions. The class itself is very difficult and wouldnt take unless I had to.
Dr. Sipe is a great professor. She know what she is talking about. I took her during the summer and we had quizzes, theory to practice, four test, and a final. Everything was online via Mcgraw- Hill connect. I would definitely recommend her if you have to take this class.
Dr. Sipe is a phenomenal professor. She is engaging in class and has a very sweet personality. She gives alot of homework but it is easy to finish and doesn't up much of your time. Her grading rubric for the two 3 page papers we do is very specific, and she gives out half of her test questions on the practice tests she provides online!
Professor Sipe is truly one of a kind. She is certainly passionate about the law, and it shows, but in a really interesting way. She isn't afraid to voice her opinion, regardless of what the social norm may be, and can back it up with facts. Keep up with the readings and assignments, and go to class. Do this, and you will be fine! Also had LSTD2106
she is very passionate about the legal environment of business and it shows in her teaching. there is homework due every day in class but it only takes 5 minutes. her test are very straight forward and she preps you for them well. she is very understanding and willing to help if you visit her office hours. LOVE HER
Great teacher! I had her for Legal Environment of Business, and the material was pretty difficult, but she made it easy to understand. I'd take her again.
I took this class online over the summer and I do not recommend taking it online. Uses mcgrawhill connect and all of the questions are from mcgrawhill. The questions are very random and are about the tiny details from the chapters. She does not respond to emails very quickly and does not know how to use folio to put in grades.
I did enjoy taking this professor for this course because she acted like she enjoyed teaching it as well. The only problem I had was that you really never got your homework graded. You would turn it in and then she would send you her answers so therefor it was a little unclear if your answers were correct.
The class is easy, but the professor is kind of annoying. If you miss 4 days or more you automatically fail the class. Overall the class is easy and you shouldn't have an issue with the material. Majority of the assignments, quizzes and test are on Connect.
Dr. Sipe is very knowledgeable about the law, and also super opinionated. She assigns LearnSmart for every chapter as well as homework questions for each class meeting. There are 5-6 essays assigned in response to movies that relate to current topics of the course. The exams are not weighted too heavily. This is not a hard class, but lots of work.
The worst professor I have ever had. For a class that had no significance to my major, this class had the most work that needed to be done. The "extra credit" that I did not do counts as class participation so I lost a letter grade.
Sipe likes to make a big deal about being a 'Full' Professor, but she doesn't teach this class. The entirety of the course is graded through online work, and the times she should teach, she instead will play a video teaching. This class is by far the easiest college level or high school level class I have taken and most likely will ever take.
This is a good class, be prepared to do homework every night, but that is with every BUSA 1105 class at southern. She offers A TON of extra credit so that will make up for some homework you miss. But you cannot miss more than 3 class or she will fail you.
Great professor! Super easy class and sets clear guidelines for all grades. All of the classwork is online except for a few small things. You will get dropped if you do not attend. She gives extra credit opportunities about every week and likes for her students to participate in the lectures. We watch a lot of videos in the class but they do help!
Dr. Sipe was honestly the worst professor experience I have had at GSU. Granted, I think it was because the class was online, but I can't speak for everyone. I took her because of the reviews, but the class itself was a bad experience. There was a lot of homework and it was hard to keep up. Overall, 4/10 wouldn't recommend.
It is a law class, so it was challenging. However, Sipe is available to help you and is very understanding if you have unexpected absences. She cares about her students. Grades homework based on participation and makes sure you get the material before moving on. Even gives you a chance to "appeal" exam grades to receive more credit.
Dr. Sipe is an amazing professor. Her lectures are not the most interesting but don't put you to sleep either. She is very understanding about excused absences and give alot of opportunities for extra credit. Schedule is the same every week so not much surprise about any work and its very easy if you pay the slightest bit of attention.
Mrs. Sipe talks ALOT, but you can tell she really cares about her students. There were MANY "McGraw Hill Connect" assignments ( do NOT forget), BUT if you miss some she allows some extra credit opportunities. You will not know what your grade is unless you ask her. I waited till the end and received an "A". Attendance is MANDATORY only allows 4!!
This class did not require much work. There are weekly homework assignments and quizzes all of which can be found on quizlet. You must show up since only 4 absences are allowed. She gives plenty of extra credit throughout the course. Every class is pretty much a lecture where you just sit and listen. Easy A if you do all of the online assignments.
Sipe is a great professor! She lectures all class, every class but she knows her stuff and has a sense of humor. It's dry humor but still pretty funny. All assignments are online and they're not difficult but you have to keep up with the deadlines. The quizzes are pretty easy. The only tests are the midterm and final. Would DEFINITELY take again!
Exams are mostly over the textbook. Her PowerPoints are made available online and tests are pretty straightforward. Her class can get boring but it has it's moments. All in all I'd recommend her as long as you're good at reading.
Tests are incredibly hard. Makes her up her own questions which basically consist of case scenarios. Hard to understand her test questions. Not very open to helping students out at all. Don't go to her office hours to check your grade because "thats your responsibility" even though she doesn't post any grades online.
Sipe is not a bad teacher but I was not able to obtain information during her lectures because I was trying to keep up on taking notes since she moves so fast. Her test are easy long as you do the pre exams you'll be okay. I personally just couldn't stand being in her class because it was very boring. She rarely gives extra credit.
Dr. Sipe is nice, but she goes off topic sometimes. She keeps index cards with everyone's name on it, so if students aren't answering her questions, she may call on you, so pay attention and be ready. Pretty much all of the work is done online, but attendance is taken each day in class, and if you have more than 4 unexcused absences you'll get an F
Dr. Sipe was an OK professor. She was not very accessible outside of class and put a lot of responsibility on the student for keeping up with grades and such. The lectures are very boring and straight from powerpoints. Expect to have homework every day and you must be in class to turn it in.
I took this over the summer and it was a mini mester class. A lot of material in a short period of time but Professor Sipes laid it all out in the syllabus so you knew what was coming up. Fair grader. Lots to read. Enjoyed it.
BUSA 1105 doesn't really get any easier then this class... she gives like 2 assignments each week and they are all online and they are graded by completion. The whole class is basically online you just need to show up for credit. tests are easy
Little bit of extra credit, A LOT of homework, used a lot of guest speakers rather than teaching the class on her own
I don't know where to start. She is by-far one of my favorite professors. She's very nice, but professional. Lots of online assignments, all very easy. No tests except for final. However, she will pick random names out during class and call on you. Gave me a lot of anxiety going to class. Lectures were straight to the point, and she was very fun.
Prof Sipe is a great teacher. This class has a ton of homework and assignments over the semester but that's not her fault. It's part of the curriculum. She likes to do group activities and class to make it less boring. She gives a ton of extra credit so take advantage of every one. If you miss more than 4 classes, you fail so try not to miss.
Professor Sipe made this class bearable and was always ready to teach us. There was a lot of homework / assignments online but they were easy. If you show up and do your online work you will be fine and pass the class
Definitely a lot of HW, but it proves to be useful when tests come. She also offers so many extra credit assignments - literally, you could prob not do any HW and get a C on each test and STILL pass the class with a low A or high B if you do all the extra credit. She's there for her students and has plenty of experience! I recommend taking her (:
Attendance is mandatory - if you have more than 4 unexcused absences, you will get an F. She does not negotiate with you. A lot of homework (1 Chapter, 1 Assignment and 1 Quiz per week), but easy to do. Everything is online, even Midterm and Final. Class was mostly boring. She was not accessible outside of class.
The class was really easy but she treats you like you're in kindergarten. All the homework and tests are online which is annoying because you have to go to class. She calls on random people using note cards in class to answer questions and if you don't answer you're counted absent. You have to go to a career fair and 2 other meetings for passports.
Dr. Sipe is THE BEST! I would go to her office hours just to talk to her. She is by far one of the sweetest professors and people I have ever met! She is great! As long as you show up and do your work on time, you'll make an A. I love her I wish I could take her again.
she has alot of extra credit but all the work is online. shes chill tho just cant be on ur phones and stuff bc she gets mad about it
I love her! I hope I will be able to take another class from her! She is hilarious and inspiring. I truly enjoyed taking this class. She encouraged me to take advantage of all of the incredible opportunities the Parker College of Business has to offer! HOWEVER, do NOT plagiarize!!! She will catch you and have no sympathy.
She was a great teacher, but the class itself has so much homework.
LOVE Professor Sipe! She really cares about her job & her students & works with you. The class has A LOT of HW due + deadlines so you need to be very organized. The final is optional & she offers EC so if you miss assignments the EC will replace it. There is no limit to how much EC you can do either. Study the powerpoints & you will pass the tests.
Being an upperclassman in this class sucks regardless of the professor but Sipe treats everybody like they're in elementary school. I've never had a college professor tell me I can't use the bathroom during class. Lots of homework and easy, but time consuming work. You fail the course if you miss 5 days. Honestly, the class was just a waste of time
Professor Sipe was very enthusiastic about the different aspects of Business. She was open-minded and encouraged class participation. She was accessible outside of class, and she always answered our questions.
Professor Sipe is extremely enthusiastic about the subject that she teaches. Although, attendance isn't mandatory there are assignments due every class and it is very important to go to class because she covers everything you need to know for the tests. Her classes are very interesting and she gets the class involved. Definitely enjoyed taking her.
I switched my major to management when I took LSTD 2106. I loved learning about law and how non-biased Dr. Evans was and I wanted to learn more. Dr. Sipe is biased, disorganized, and I did not learn as much as I would have liked. She goes off on tangents. I learned, but I feel like I did not get the information in a non-biased environment.
Professor Sipe is a really nice professor. Her lectures are boring most of the time but you don't need to take notes. All homework, tests, and quizzes are online and super easy. Easy A for this class.
She makes an easy connect based class way more difficult than it should be. Tests are very hard and majority of class fails them. She is extremely condescending when you email her with any questions. Gives very vague instructions and sends messages in ALL CAPS like it isn't rude and makes you feel stupid. Gets frustrated by student questions. 0/10.
Worst Professor I have had in three years. We watched pre-recorded videos of her interviewing other professors for half the days of class that taught absolutely nothing. Quizzes are hard unless you read the chapters in-depth and look at every detail. Expect lots of reading because she has not taught me a single thing I needed for the class.
It's pretty much a standard online course with etext and 60-80 questions per reading it got annoying but doable. the problem comes from I never spoke to her once and at the very end she changed the date of the final at the last moment and I missed it because of that then when I asked if I could do it and get late credit she was incredibly rude.
Gave me an expected grade of a B before the semester was over. Final was optional so I didnt take in order to keep the B. Final grade for the class was a D. Dont know how grade dropped
Best teacher in my opinion she loves her job and will be taking her again.
Took her for this class and intro to business. They were very different. A lot more homework on Connect and test are very scenario based. Takes attendance on TopHat.
Dr. Sipe is a very caring and open professor. She gives a lot of extra credit. She sometimes gives a lot of homework but they are easy assignments. Tests are super easy to prepare for. Lectures are very interesting. 10/10 recommend
Professor Sipe is the best! Attendance matters, but she is so easy to follow in class and wants her students to succeed. She helps you out as long as you try, and always responds within a reasonable time. She is extremely intelligent and interesting to listen to.
I took this class online and she is very unorganized. She doesn't put all of the due dates on the syllabus like most professors. The grade book is also very messy and hasn't been updated from her previous class. This class is not hard but it is A LOT of work. This is just an elective for me but Is more work than my classes required for my major.
I genuinely feel like I was unprepared for half of the test. She goes on tangents and doesn't most of your exam grades AT ALL so good luck with trying to see where your final grade is. If you still take her class: Do ALL of the extra credits, don't miss any of the homework's and assignments, study based on the PowerPoints and not what she says.
Professor Sipe is an excellent professor! This is the second time I have taken a course with her. She gives all due dates and assignments on the first day of class so you can work ahead if you want. There are A LOT of assignments as well as tests and a group project - so make sure you manage your time wisely. But do the work and you'll get an A!
This teacher is a HEAVY liberal and she really lets you know it. You are forced to watch countless videos and do multiple assignments that are clearly only about politics. You are basically forced to act as if you agree with all of her beliefs because that is the only way to complete her assignments.
This teacher was very difficult. Descriptions weren't very clear, and she gave me a zero even though I completed the assignment. I never feel prepared for any of her exams. She gives you 8-9 questions before each test, and she picks out maybe 4-5. She is a hard grader, and if you don't include certain key words, she will mark it wrong.
Sipe wasn't a bad professor but she wasn't my favorite either. Tons of homework which sucks and I don't know if all the homework actually helps when it comes to learning material. Classes are pretty boring but that is pretty much expected when you get to senior year classes. Don't use AI as she checks and grades accordingly.
Took her for Legal Enviroment, attendance is mandatory but you learn more by reading the book than you would her lectures and powerpoints. She gives 2 question quizzes in class over things you never learned, that add up to an exam grade. She also is very biased and you can tell her political views.
Great professor! Smart, incredible experience and stories, interesting assignments, prepared for every class. Makes you think. Very available to students and so supportive. People who say she is biased are wrong. She teaches you what the law is, not what some close-minded people wish it was. One of the best professors I have had here!
Super nice professor who gives out a lot of extra credit. Lots of busywork and homework. Attendance quizzes based on questions accuracy.
Fun to go to class! She tells great stories and gives real-life examples that help you learn. Lots of homework and extra credit. Don't take the class if you are looking for an easy A, but if you want to learn something, take Professor Sipe!
I learned so much! She is organized, easy to follow. Held extra credit office visits to talk to her about the class or get career advice. She spent a lot of time making sure that we knew of all of the opportunities to be successful as a business major. We had a great class. Several of us made our own study groups, which was super helpful.
Helpful slides and quizzes, but most learning was outside class. Instructor shared biased opinions and made uncomfortable remarks. Class felt tense, and I worried about being graded on views. Take it in the summer if possible to avoid the lecture. Liberal so if you like that take her.
Professor Sipe is well learned, and she expects her students to be the same. Although this is a very hard class, if you take her guidance, and try and put in some extra hours, you can easily get by.
