A really kind and helpful teacher. Truly the only math teacher I have ever learned a lot from and understand what she is explaining. She also has a good class schedule too. I would highly recommend her to anyone troubled by their mathematic abilities. She will help you out.
Stephanie was a great teacher; very helpful, good at explaining things, and always encouraged questions. She never made students feel bad if they couldn't understand something right away. I'd recommend her for any math class, though not sure if she is still teaching at PCC.
Very nice, great personality, but she doesn't really teach math well for me. I think a lot of students in the class are happy, but I'd prefer a set of notes with step-by-step instructions rather than just a bunch of problems that she solves out on the board.
Stephanie is AWESOME! She explains things so well! Her tests are not easy but very fair. As long as you do your homework, the reviews, and ask questions you should do fine and will learn a lot while having fun in the process. I actually enjoyed math for once
Stephanie is an awesome instructor, but her tests (at least for math 111) were overwhelmingly hard and long. I like her teaching style and she explains things well, but those tests KILLED me!
Really helpful and clear. All of the lessons were printed handouts, so there are no worries about missing important concepts in your notes. Also the handouts were made available online, both blank and filled out. The only bad thing I can say is that there were several verbal homework changes, so I lost a few points by getting HW off the syllabus.
Super nice lady, but not great at teaching material. Flighty and forgetful. Way too much material for one term. Course grade is based mostly off of exams, which are ridiculously hard and long. Your only hope of getting a good exam score is if the material is really easy for you. She does not give enough time for exams or quizzes.
Hard class, but fair. Teacher is more than willing to help and explains the material well. Stephanie is funny too so the class isn't boring like normal classes can be. Not sure about the flighty comment someone else left..she seemed to be on top of everything in my class and her notes were really helpful. She seemed to know her stuff.Recommend.
She is amazing. Best math prof. I've ever had. She cares so much about her students and is so sweet and helpful. She is awesome when you come in for office hours and she never treats you like you're dumb for asking a silly question. She makes great notes for everyone to use in class. Exams are tough but fair. BEST PROFESSOR!!!
difficult class, great notes given, tough grader marks on accuracy, lots of material to cover, classmates & tutor lab very helpful except for Christine clueless and rude
Stephanie is the best math teacher I have ever had. She makes the material clear and easy to understand, and she is super helpful, energetic, and fun. Her tests are challenging but fair, and she genuinely wants her students to succeed. She made learning math an absolute joy. I only wish she was teaching calculus. Highly recommended!
Stephanie is an amazing teacher. She will answer any questions you have and walks you through anything. There are never any trick questions. She just wants to make sure you know the material.
she is an awesome Math teacher with friendly manner and nice appearance. She's young but her teaching methods are great, my classmates and I always catch up with new knowledge. In addition, she's super easy with her grading and students, extra credits are 2 or 3 times per term. Taking her class won't disappoint you!!!!
I study in her class. she shows me a lot of things which are very useful. Her HW or lectures are very easy to understand. It is good if you take her class.
You can’t go wrong with this instructor. Stephanie instructs in a manner that is clear, focused, and effective.
Stephanie has a specific teaching style that does not work well for those who don't like math or who have a hard time with it. She rushes too fast through material, one concept doesn't settle before another is introduced. She picks the most difficult problems for exams, the type she doesn't go through explaining in class.
Great notes she printed and ready for you. Fair grader. She's pretty too which is a nice plus.
One of the best math classes I have taken in a long time. She is very helpful and makes it easy and fun to learn math. I had just taken math 65 the semester before and failed horribly. This class is the one you need to take if your looking to succeed in your math career.
very good.
Great teacher, and she cares that her students are doing well her class. Asks students if they understand while lecture, which is very helpful. Willing to help students durning office hours. I really enjoyed this class!
Holy Smokes! what a beautiful teacher. besides the good looks, she also is very good at teaching math. I failed this course twice before taking it with her and understood everything after taking her math class. Take her if you have trouble with understanding math!
Stephanie is hands down the best math teacher I've ever had. She makes it easy to understand and does an awesome job of explaining the material. I wish I was able to take all of my math classes with her. I definitely have recommended her to my friends.
Her tests aren't difficult if you complete the assigned homework. An A in her class isn't too easy to earn, but isn't impossible. If you have difficulty understanding, she will happily help. Just do what's asked and you won't have any problems. She is THE BEST math teacher I have ever had.
Stephanie is the best math teacher I have ever had. Her classes are challenging, but she wants everyone to succeed. Do the homework and ask questions - she is always eager to help. Exams are hard, but she gives a review and if you do all the homework you will be fine.
First of all I don't understand what the "hotness" indicator has to do with the instructors quality of teaching but I checked "hot" anyway because her quality of teaching is that good. She answers emails in a timely manner, is always there for help when needed and during "Snow-pocalypse" rescheduled the midterm and dropped the req. writeup. A+++++
Good instructor, helpful, explains things well, fun to be around. Class is challenging but not too much so. Recommended.
Best math teacher I've had yet; Assignments were straightforward & online format was the best one I've had yet - reminders before assignments were due, etc. Quick responses via email and phone. Would take more from her without second thought.
I really like Stephanie. Very prompt with emailing back, and explicitly clear on what was expected when it came to writing up homework assignments and tests. I would have taken her for Math 65 if she were teaching it this upcoming term.
I would highly recommend this instructor. She gives notes that are filled out during class and are all you need for her exams. Her tests are reasonably difficult, but not too difficult if you do the assigned homework problems. She was great.
She always gets back to you when you email with questions but.... I warn you don't take her class. She makes the class way too hard. She picks the hardest problems for the midterm and final wich are 10-12 pages long. By the final exam you will see that half the class is gone from dropping her class. Too much too hard, don't do it,
Best math teacher ever! She made is very easy to learn and understand the problems. Exams are very difficult though. Exams caused part of the class to drop. She teaches so well that the exam was easy for me. I definitely recommend her!!
Very helpful and excellent at responding to emails. Her class is organized and clear. I took her a few terms ago and I wish all instructors could be like her. The only way you could fail her class is if you don't put in the effort.
I took 251 & 252 with Stephanie and thought she was a wonderful math teacher. I really appreciated that she provided a printed outline of each section's lecture material which made taking notes much easier. Her tests were not easy but as long as I studied my HW and quizzes I did fine. Also the cutest math teacher I've ever had!
Stephanie is extremely helpful. She is a great instructor to pick if you have a little extra trouble in math, because she will really go out of the way to make sure you get the material. If one of her students needs help, she will make sure they get it. Plus she usually offers bonus credit questions on her tests.
I was terrified I would fail her class, I had a C- in MTH60 that I took over the summer. Stephanie worked with me, setup a MathLab account and filled it with homework that I could do on my own time (just for practice, not extra credit). She stays positive, easy to work with if you need to ditch class, but she makes you work for your grade!
Best ever
its algebra, so that part is lame. I have always struggled with algebra, but she was very helpful and communicated in a clear and helpful way. also she is cute as can be, I regret taking this class online.
For one Stephanie is the best online guide I've ever had. She's super responsive, very clear, professional and respectful. I enjoyed the way that MyMathLab was set up in combination with all her syllabus exercises. You've got to really try to fail this class - you have many times to get problems right. Tests are totally doable. Highly recommended.
I had Stephanie for Math 60 and I really wish I'd taken a different class. She is clearly smart but I don't think she relates well to people who aren't as into numbers as she is. The tests were really hard and focused on things that we barely touched on in the complicated and confusing lectures. For non-math people, choose a different teacher.
Stephanie is an excellent math instructor. I actually had her for 58 (the statistics track) and it was the first B if ever made in a math class. She's clear, organized and believes in education and gets that not everyone is math-oriented but definitely challenges those who seek it. It bums me out a bit she doesn't teach 98 or 243.
Stephanie is great! I've taken her for multiple course, the best math teacher I've had so far. She is always willing to explain stuff in class and is totally down to meet after/before class too. She is very nice and a totally fair grader. Great guided notes that help a lot. Gives out exam reviews. Homework isn't a lot, but necessary for practice.
One of the best math teacher I have ever had, Stephanie was always helpful and nice, she was very happy to help students with question, I really enjoyed taking her classes, MTH 251 252 we didn't use the book in class a lot. Her chapter notes(guides) were the most important material in the class, I highly recommend her if you like to take calculus
On the first day she said degrees are dead to us. But radians, apparently never die. Yes this was calculus, but if you are off on the most complicated, insane algebraic maneuvers you've even seen, ohh and let's throw some trig into that.... Miss a negative and you could get docked 8 out of 10 points. Your algebra will be flawless when you get out.
I took MTH60 over the summer so it was an accelerated cloass. 8 weeks instead of 12. LOTS of work, but that's to be expected. She's great. Responsive, and smart. Cares about students. Highly recommended.
I'm in math 252,and looking back so far, I'm realizing Stephanie is one of the best math teachers I've had. Reasonable amount of homework. Unlike a lot of teachers, her exam reviews helpful and give an honest idea of what to expect on the exams-- very important to me.
Although there is a lot of homework, she is thorough and wants to make sure you completely understand. There are many videos and notes, which are extra credit if turned in. She is quick to respond to emails and extremely helpful when stuck. I got a B, which would have easily been an A, but I had a lot going on this term. She's a GREAT teacher.
Stephanie is amazing! I never liked math until this class. I always looked forward to coming to this class and I am actually sad it is over. You will not regret taking this class with Stephanie.
stephanie is a great online tutor and does take time to reply to any questions you have. she also will give you feedback and help you guide yourself throughout the course. if you need this class, and cant do in person classes, she is a great professor who somehow makes DL classes work well. im sure she would also be great in person too.
Stephanie is amazing!!! She is one of my all-time favorite math teachers. She explains everything really clearly, answers questions during lecture, and is just a genuinely nice person. She is a great teacher and I recommend her to everyone!!!
She is the best math teacher I've ever had
She loves to help students learn which is great. The only problem of that is that she has to cram 3 weeks into 1 week at the end. She's a very amicable person, but definitely not an amicable grader, she wants to help us get ready for calc but that can hinder our confidence. The exams are hugely weighted as well. She does have some cool grade tricks
Stephanie is a breath of fresh air when it comes to a math professor. She has gone back and forth with me emailing about a problem past her email hours, has been very supportive and caring not only with my grade but with myself. She just cares about her students doing well. I appreciate her so much! PLEASE TAKE HER!
Stephanie is nice but the class was very difficult with insane amounts of homework. Multiple weekly assignments between 20 - 30 questions for each, and having to show the work takes way too much time. I fell behind quickly and struggled to keep up. I will say that she was knowledgeable and I would take another class if there was less busy work.
Definitely the best math teacher I have had since elementary school. Seems to really care about the success of the students. Gives very clear explanations during lecture. A few extra credit opportunities.
Professor Yurasits is absolutely amazing. She truly goes above and beyond to help with your success in her class. The workload is decent and fast paced but she is there every step of the way. Course details: MML, 4/5quizzes, 4 writeups along with midterms & final. There is extra credit options available but you have to do the work to pass.
Great prof, easy to work with. The material in this class was so easy I felt like I was cheating. Math 90 was MUCH more challenging. Still fun, and useful "life skills" math.
Stephanie was a great math teacher! I never felt too overwhelmed with the workload. I liked the use of the particular video lectures she used, which gave plenty of guided opportunities to practice the material.
Great teacher. She is funny, easy going and understanding.
Phenomenal instructor! Caring, understanding, and easy-going - math is def not my forte, but the material was so easy compared to the previous courses I've had to take that it was kind of ridiculous! 4 disc. posts; a project you have a month to work on; video/lecture notes; online HW & text; 5 worksheets & midterm/final are all that's due in this.
Great professor and knew her stuff, but way too much homework. Over 50+ busy-work homework questions per week plus an insane amount of notes due at midterm and finals. Be ready to spend over 20 hours per week on this class alone. As someone who is full time school and full time college, this class was very time consuming.
Stephanie is a very approachable and kind human. Which, makes asking questions easy. Even if you're completely lost she will help you find your way. All the practice, notes and homework is in MML. The lectures from other teachers made it harder to learn the material remotely but when I attended class I left understanding everything. Great teacher!
Stephanie is always willing to help out whenever needed. Attendance is not mandatory if taken online and the class is not too hard if you take time and study. Very nice and caring professor, would 100% recommend if looking for a lenient professor and a chill math class.
Lecture videos are not hers, the material is in homework, tests and worksheets aren't in the videos and make no sense. When you email her questions she gives snarky answers if any. Gets upset that over 1/2 the class had to use outside materials to do any assignments instead of taking the hint that we ALL needed help. Basically taught ourselves.
This professor asks you to dedicate 25-30hrs a week to the course, requires you to show all work- which if you don't have a digital tablet means you have to print worksheets out to scan them and then suggests you download an adobe program so you can fit her incredibly picky formatting standards. Her online approach is out of touch and demanding.
Gives insane amounts of homework. Only professor I had who gave additional homework the week of midterms. Extremely picky, will take off points for small mistakes and details. D2l page was difficult to navigate.
Kinda shocked by these 1 star reviews. I loved Stephanie so much I took her for two terms. She is so positive, friendly and helpful! You have to do Chapter write ups but you can send them to her before the due date and she'll essentially score them prior to grading so you can redo and get 100%. She cares about her students and is very lenient.
Really solid professor! She used the PCC math95 lecture videos and took a while to grade things, however she was always accessible if you needed her. She was also really helpful with the recent power outages and is understandable if you need extensions as long as you learn the material!
Stephanie has by far been my favorite Math teacher. She is very compassionate with her students. Make sure to do the homework, ask questions, and study for the tests. I asked a ton load of questions throughout the term and she was amazing at giving me one-on-one help with them. Her lectures are top notch and easy to understand. Take her class!
Steph is amazing! She is very caring and understanding. You can tell she really enjoys teaching math!
Stephanie is an amazing math teacher. I failed trig before this class and she made it all make sense. She is very willing to meet out of class and go over hard concepts. A lot of homework but it will really drill the problems in and prepare you for calc. Wish she could be my math teacher for every math class.
Stephanie was fantastic! One of my favorite math Instructors I've had. She was eager to help and seemed to really enjoy teaching and helping you understand the material. She was quick to respond to emails and was always helpful. I would not hesitate to take her class again!
Best math instructor at PCC. I miss my time I had in her class. Shes a great instructor but most of all a great person. Love you Steph. Thanks for everything.
Shes nice enough, but no. This is way too much work for a Math 95 class. Its sort of ridiculous, really. Get ready to spend 20+ hours trying to figure this stuff out. Her d2l is hard to navigate and overall I was so overwhelmed I just withdrew. Would not recommend if you work FT. This is too much work for what this class is.
She explains everything in an easy way to understand, and listens to you no matter what the question is. Also emails back pretty quickly.
Stephanie is a real one. I was super nervous going into this class but ended up loving it! if you are looking for a math class where you learn a lot and actually retain the information, stephanie would be the best choice. I would 100000 take her for another math class.
I think she assigned a lot of work but I think shes a great teacher so I was able to get the work done fairly quickly. She was super understanding and easy to get in contact with I love her!
Stephanie is great but I must advise you do not take this class expecting a light work load. I work full time and only take one other class besides this one and this math class sent me over the edge on the regular. You HAVE to check the calendar or you WILL be surprised with MORE work when you do not have time for it. Don't hand write, print notes.
Stephanie has been amazing! She gives great feedback and is very communicative and responsive when you need help. I would take her class again in a heartbeat.
Stephanie is very organized, giving you a very clear outline of everything that needs to be done, and she goes out of her way to set you up for success and seems to genuinely enjoy teaching. This class isn't easy, but she challenges you in a way that only benefits you and is more than willing to help you if something doesn't make sense for you.
Professor Yurasits is AMAZING. I took her for MTH 95 (A- received) last semester and probably an A this semester in MTH 105 (currently sitting at 98% but still need to take the final). I genuinely wish I could take her for every remaining math class I have (Stats 1 and 2), she is inclusive and very kind, even when I send 3am breakdown emails.
One of the best math teachers there is. She truly cares and tries to make everything as clear possible. Weekly assignment and HW through ALEKS. This class was hybrid so it was nice to have both videos to learn from and in person lecture. She's always willing to help and VERY organzied!
She really seems to care about her students. She calls herself strict but she's more than willing to give extensions if you talk to her before the deadline. In my class at least, she gave out quite a few extra credit opportunities. I think it totaled to a possible 25% of the final in the end so great for those who struggle on tests.
Stephanie is a very caring person, I really liked how she connects with each individual student! The only thing I would say that would be a downfall of her MTH 95 class is the amount of outside class work. Overall she explains lessons thoroughly and is very helpful!
Stephanie is clearly a kind and intelligent individual, unfortunately, there was too much busy work for such a simple class. However, she is always willing to help as long as you reach out!
Stephanie really loves what she does & wants her students to succeed. There's a lot of coursework, it takes time to grasp the concepts but there are plenty of videos that help and Stephanie was really patient and always quick to respond to any questions. She prepares you well for the exams, & provides some extra credit opportunities. Loved her!
Ms. Yurasits was very helpful and involved in the class. She responded to emails quickly, answered questions well, and was very understanding of her student's time. She used MyOpenMath for homework, which was easy to understand, a free online textbook, and the workload was reasonable.
Is very nice. Homework and notes are from the online textbook. There's both a homework worksheet and online homework but they're not too bad, just stay on track and communicate with her. Midterm and Final are all based on the materials and units taught.
The lectures seem long but there is a lot of good and helpful information in them. If you take her class be prepared to print a lot of notes and worksheets or you can use an iPad. Very clear grader and was very helpful when I needed. I would take her class again if needed.
Professor Yurasits is one of the most easily likable people I have ever met. The workload is light and her expectations are very reasonable. She gives ample due date reminders, always gives clear feedback, and allows you to correct mistakes on assignments before the due date. She offers a ton of extra credit for simply turning assignments in early.
Stephanie was a phenomenal instructor for MTH 105. She always made time to answer my questions. She is genuinely so kind and accommodating. You can tell that she really loves what she does and wants all of her students to succeed. Definitely take her if you want math to make sense!
She was really nice and understanding. I would 100% take this class again.
The GOAT of PCC MATH. BLESS HER!!!!!!!!!!!
Stephanie is one of the best college instructors I have had. The level of commitment to the courses she teaches and to her students is truly unique. And her passion for math is contagious. I went into this course mildly terrified. And I am leaving having truly loved it. How did she do that?! She did it by always being available, always caring.
Stephanie is a delight -- definitely not what I was expecting from a Mathematics Instructor. The class itself provides lots of relevant mathematics that we see in our everyday lives. Its a pretty hefty workload, but she provides the tools to be organized and manage your time effectively. Highly recommend if you think you don't like math.
Pretty straight forward math class. Responds to emails, clear grading and feedback.
