If you take economics @ GRCC make sure it is with him. Not only does he have an awesome sense of humor, but he is a "real" teacher, meaning he genuinely wants every student to learn and do well.

Mr Abid is a must to take for Economics.He adds his heart to this class, and desires all to do well. You NEED to take notes and you need to study, but his exams are on what he teaches in class. If you ccan't get your passing grade through here shame on u.

Take notes, come to class, study your notes before tests and do the worksheets, and you shouldn't have a problem. All the tests are on the notes he gives. I had Mrs. Grin for EC 251 and she is horrible compared to Mr. Abid.

Fairly easy course if you take notes and study them. Nice guy for the most part but tries to influence political views with his far left liberal agenda. Good class to take for part of the social sciences requirement.

I hate economics and was sure I would fail going into the class. However I ended up with a decent grade! He is a great teacher and he is fun too. Spent the first 15 mins of class ****ing with the students before getting started. He is a VERY easy grader on his short answer and essay questions the rest are multiple choice. Drops lowest test

I gotta say, I LOVE this guy! He was the best prof I've ever had! He's super funny too! I ran into him in the hall the next year and he remembered me. Great guy! Take his class!

Mr. Abid is an all around great guy. I would recommend his to anyone because of his helpfulness in and out of the class. It is easy to get an A if you put forth the effort which isn't to hard if you do the reading and keep up on assignments. Overall, great prof.

So economics isn't the most exciting or easy class to go to, but Mr. Abid made it worth while. Not a class you can breeze through, but if you go to class and take good notes you'll do fine. I definately plan on taking his class for Micro econ.

Abid made Econ kind of interesting. Notes clear, tests straight off notes. Likes student opinion and gives his own opinion. Study for essays hard, but understanding lectures ensures a good grade on essays. Expect to get 4-8 points off of multiple choice. Come to class, listen, and take notes and you'll get an A! Reading chapters isn't necessary.

Uses very good examples of macro-economic models that everyone can relate to. For example; gas prices, eating subway, things like that.

he doesn't fit my online teaching style. Took microecon and basically had to teach myself out of the book. Nice and sometimes more than generous but sometimes picky and unclear. others seemed to have online problems with him as well. He's better than other econ teachers.

Very knowledgeable in his field. The only complaint I have is he skips over some chapters and expects you to know them for the test.

He will talk about his neighbors trucks, his wife's soap and cheese burgers for many hours then he will act shocked and state, "oh my gosh, where did the time go," as class period comes to an end.

Great teacher who really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He does his best to explain things so everyone will understand. While teaching he knows how to have a good time and make jokes. He definitely knows what he is talking about.

Took Abid for EC251&252 and would definitely recommend him for both. He's very good at explaining things (although he can go off on tangents). He uses every single minute and then some of class time so don't ever expect to get out early. Adds extra credit opportunities and drops lowest test score. He actually managed to make me enjoy economics!

I had him for EC251 & EC252 online. They were both very hard classes and I think it would have been better to attend classes on campus instead. He was very nice though. I had a hard time with the discussion boards... they were pretty hard and required a lot of thought and effort.

Proff. Abid was great!! I had him for an accelerated 3hr class and it felt like it flew by and kept it interesting. Frequent tests so you do have to study, but you can drop one. Awesome teacher, take him if you can.

Really easy to understand, tests are straightforward as long as you take notes (write down what he says and clicker questions). Easy grader get this guy!

Not sure what's wrong with the person below me, but in this class and EC 252 this professor is excellent at teaching and enjoys it. He asks for answers so you can develop critical thinking and actually learn. If you read the book, go to class and pay attention, the tests are not that difficult and you might even learn something.

This guy is awesome. I learned so much in this class. Professor Abid has an excellent sense of humor and he actually cares about his students and their futures. His lectures are interesting and he provides you with a lot of notes and his slideshows are excellent. GRCC should be proud to have a professor of this quality.

Professor Abid has a style and sense of humor all his own. He's a great teacher, he's helpful if you to him. He is fair and he knows his stuff. Do the work, do the reading and you will do well.

Professor Abid is a professor that makes use of anecdotes, videos, etc to enforce concepts. Most entertaining econ class I have taken and easiest to learn. READ the text and pay attention in class and it's an easy good grade.

This was one of my first classes going back to school full time and he was great. As of now he's still by far the best teacher(out of 4) that I've had. I learned a ton in his class and during his lectures he made it easy to take good notes that would be needed tests. Show up, take notes, study for the tests, and you'll do well in his class.

I thought that I was going to have a difficult time with this class. Nope! Professor Abid is lively, funny and he knows his stuff. He is more than eager to help people when they need it. I thoroughly enjoyed his class and his life motto "Happy wife happy life". If you have to take an econ class, choose this guy!

Professor Abid is very nice and professional. Uses real life examples. Makes economics interesting. Show up, do your own homework, pay attention to what is written on the board (will show up on tests). Usually repeats phrases that may be on test. You are fortunate if you are able to get Professor Abid. He will help you understand economics&make fun

I took micro online and it was so confusing. I took macro in his class and it was much better! He is a great teacher - always happy to help. If you pay attention in class and write down all the notes you'll be set for the test. Reading the chapters makes the test easier as well. And your final test can replace a low test score if applicable.

I took the hybrid class and found this much better than if I took completely online. You have to read the book and pay attention to his notes and examples while in class. He makes the topics interesting and is engaging. I would strongly recommend taking him if you can get into his section.

Econ teacher knows his stuff, and is a very effective teacher. If you take notes and pay attention in class its an easy A. Tests are quite easy if you do at least a little studying.

Very enjoyable class if you are like to take economics take Mr. Abid he explains topics very clearly. In addition if you study for the test and do good on your assignment you will have no problem passing this class.

Prof Abid is a great, funny guy. I didn't care to show up to his 7:45 class everyweek as I am more of an online class person, but he made me look forward to tuesdays. His tests are easy and not much else is required of his class. I got a nice boost in my grade at the end just for showing up a good amount of time& you really dont need the textbook.

I loved the online schedule. It was very easy to work at your own pace because the units were in 3 week chunks. He interacted with students on the discussion boards which does not happen very often. The tests are a little on the difficult side but he gives you a study guide.

I had Abid for both macro and micro econ. He is one of the best educators i have had. No BS, explains economic concepts extremely clearly and effectively, and makes the class easy if you at least put in some effort.

Greatest teacher i've had so far

Professor Abid was a phenomenal professor, especially for an Economics course online. Throughout his course, he is very clear on expectations and what needs to be done to gain an understanding of the complicated subject economics. Very quick on grading and gives excellent feedback. Very respectful and experienced also. Definitely would take again!

I'm currently taking his Macroecon class online and he is awesome. He interacts with the student's posts and makes you think and/or understand the content. Rather than focus on how many posts/words you're writing per week, his focus is on your understanding of the subject. Responds/grades fast & fair, clear instructions on tests/hw. Best prof yet!

If you show up and you pay attention, there is no reason you shouldn't get at least a B in this class. The first two tests are hardest, so hang in there, it does get easier. Structure is the same every 2 weeks, he's clear on test material. The book is helpful for homework. Gives 6 tests and drops the worst one, so it's worth it to take all 6.

Professor Abid is by far the best teacher I have had at GRCC. He is willing to explain things no matter what even though he explains topics really well. When you do the take home essay spend a lot of time on it!!

Took the accelerated 7 week course, have a test every week but he drops lowest one. Funny professor, make sure you do the homework.

Lots of discussion posts & he reads every one of the posts. He provides mounds of feedback. Do not slack on posts they impact your grade immensely. Homework is avg amount. His tests are also very straight forward. He offers youtube lectures teaching each unit which makes it so nice! Overall, he puts a lot of effort into grading and your feedback

Great professor overall! Such a good professor and a good person himself. Has a lot of cool and funny stories. About his class, if you don't show up won't pass. He goes over everything fast so if you can, voice record the class. it helps. Also, READ THE TEXTBOOK! A lot of the questions on his test are from the book that he doesn't cover in class.

Incredible teacher and very funny.

I learned a lot from professor Abid. If you decide to take him be prepared to put a lot of work in. This class was one of the more difficult classes I took here at GRCC. His tests are challenging so pay attention to his lectures and read the book. Tests are worth 60% of your grade. Attendance, participation and homework are 40%.

He's a very good teacher. Macro Econ is boring, but he made it fun. His lectures are very clear. I would suggest reading the book, but isn't not mandatory. He covers everything that is on the test in class. The class is not difficult as long as you pay attention, and do the work.

This professor is one of the best I have had here at GRCC! He makes lots of jokes in class and really cares about us doing well and understanding the material. There are not very many assignments and he drops the lowest test. It should not be too hard to get an A if you show up and listen.

His tests are easy & have extra credit problems for big points and are easy. He really wants students to enjoy this class and pass. Also, he is helpful if you have any questions. Best college prof I've ever had! 6 tests total and lowest one is dropped so last class is optional. Barely any homework and gives extra credit on the tests. Explains things in a way so its easy to understand and gives real life examples. Has an odd sense of humor, but it's amusing even for a 7:45am class. WOULD 10/10 RECOMMEND

Though you can definitely get a good grade without attending all of the time, participation through the iClicker Reef app counts for some points. The textbook is good for further understanding, but regular reading is not absolutely needed. Some extra credit is given thorughout tests.

I loved having Professor Abid! He was amazing. He gives great feedback and does what he can to make his class learnable and actually retain the information. His expectations are very clear. If you just do the reading and research this class will be very easy and should be fun. I definitely had fun and the information will be sticking with me.
