Makes Chemistry as simple as it can be. He doesnt set out to fail anyone, he gives you good opportunities to learn
he's really helpful and really cares if the students learn the material and know what they're doing. the british accent's not hard to take either.
Dr. Anderson is the best guy. I want to be his friend. Extremely nice and funny. He loves what he does and you can tell. He teaches very well, explains things incredibly. Hard tests, however he will help you with whatever you have trouble with.

OK I had him a few semesters ago, but I thought he was great! His British accent and sense of humor made the class fun to go to. He was really easy to understand, and very helpful with difficult concepts. If I was a chem major, I would take him again.
DR. ANDERSON IS THE BEST PROFESSOR WE HAVE EVER HAD. HE TEACHES COMPLEX MATERIAL IN A CLEAR AND EFFECTIVE MANNER. WE LOVE HIM!!!!
He is the best professor at Ramapo!
He is the best professor at Ramapo! I'm learning a lot in this lab. I would take him for another course in a second!
it's a hard class, no doubt, but steve is an awesome prof and truly cares about the students, meetings after classes, etc. he teaches in an organized, understandable manner. he also makes the class easier to sit through by adding humor to the lesson.
Prof. Anderson is excellent. This class was challanging. Lab reports due each week. He is clear with HIS understanding of the material, and tries to share his knowledge with you. Put in the work, and you WILL be rewarded. I got an A.
Tests are hard, but final grades are curved. He jokes a lot during class, and doesn't take attendance. Great guy, moves at the class' pace. If you need more time to copy down his notes, he'll leave the slide up until everyone's done.
Great teacher, very helpful if there are things you dont understand, always welcomes students to talk to him in office if there are topics that you dont understand.
One of the greatest professors I have taken! Very funny and really presents the material in a way everyone can understand. Tests are hard, but it is chemistry, after all. Take him if you can, as many times as you can!
I had trouble in HS with Chemistry, but Prof. Anderson tought everything so simply and in a way that anyone could understand. Doesn't take attendance so its OK to miss classes, and it's hard to get bored listening to his accent. Coolest guy ever, would definately want to hang with him outside class.
Dr. Anderson keeps students interested in even the most boring of chemistry topics. His sense of humor keeps you on your toes. He understands his students' needs. Lots of notes to take in his class, but he does not assign homework. Definitely recommend him.
Doesn't give homework or quizes. So therfore you dont learn much. Then when his exams come around your pretty much bomb them.
This sounds sick, but i think he is hot. lol. his cute british sayings keep me interested. this guy is hip - he carries his laptop in a playstation bag! lol he really makes me laugh. tests are kind of difficult but doable. i got a B in the class so it wasnt too bad for my loathing of chem!
Great Teacher. Gives you the notes on a projector and that's all u need for the test. The tests are short and simple. Study and you'll be fine. He is also very funny and has an awesome british accent...I'm taking him next semester.
haha, i definitely agree, he is cute. Was never great in Chem but he made this subj so doable. Probably the best Chem teacher I ever had. Tests are easy and very helpful if u go to his office for help. Of course, his adorable british accent helped too.
Excellent instructor.Down to earth and good sense of humor.Tough but fair on grading lab reports.Comprehensive final. You must do the work! Not easy, but a fair grader. His class overall was a very nice experience.
This guy is the greatest, better than Felix. He explains things in ways that everyone can understand. If you don't understand something in lecture, you probably will once Anderson goes over it in lab. He only deducts a point or two for experimental mistakes if you explain your sources of error well.
Hands down, THE MAN. This guy reminds me more of my highschool buddies than the typical college professor. Makes you laugh, does't take things too seriously, really one of the best in Ramapo.
HOT...And a really good teacher. I had him for chem lab and he made it so much fun, I only wish I had him for lecture. Hands down a great guy. Hehe also has a cute english accent....
He is a great teacher!I would take him for every class if i could. Test were simple, just know your equations and how to do all the examples in the notes. Test questions are notes questions with different numbers. Make sure u take pre-calc w/ chem I and calc I w/ chem II, makes it easier!Cute accent
GREAT TEACHER! Explained everything well! :) :)
Great professor, no homework, no quizzes, you don't have to read the book ( you don't even really need the book). Write down all of the notes he gives you, know your formulas for the tests, and know how to do the examples he does in class and youll be fine. The final is a little more challenging but nothing unbearable as long as you study! Take him

His manner is sometimes a bit unprofessional, but he REALLY knows how to teach. Explains complex principles so well, that idiots like me can understand them and get an A. You do have to work hard though, as tests are comprehensive.
Pay attention during lecture, take notes, and skim them before the exams. That's all you need to do if you want to do well in this course. Anderson is great. Somehow, he makes the material fun and interesting (well, about as fun as Chemistry could possibly be...)
He's got an english accent and enjoys having class mostly informally. Brings slide show in power point to class and once you listen and take notes you should do well. No quizzes, no homework, just the exams and the final and your lab grade. If you are good with independent work and you want an A you will get one!!!! Take him!!!
All you have to do is pay attention in lecture and take good notes. I just got out of the US Army having graduated high school 7 years ago. If he can make ME understand chemistry, anyone can learn in his class. Just do the work and you have an A.
Accent not Mr. Belvedere, this guys cockney. Arsenal fan, behave accordingly. Can never say he doesn't explain things sufficiently. Uses same powerpoint from forever for notes, there's a lot. Try to get them beforehand from someone else who took the class, chances are they're the same. Real cool, nice guy, helpful. In times of trouble, consult.
He's a really great teacher for lower level classes, but organic lecture with him was next to impossible. He just goes over the power points, and you really don't get any "hands on" practice. Its a hard course to begin with-- I switched to Felix for Organic 2 and am doing 10 times better and actually understanding what I'm doing!
Power Points everything... no homework. EASY tests, knows what he's talking about. take him
Alot of power point for Orgo 2. He doesn't let you know what's on the test and there is way to many notes to study
Best teacher I ever had. Not easy - he really raises the bar but he teaches to the level necessary to get you there. He's actually kind of funny - if you can say that about a chem teacher!
knows what he is talking about...goes over powerpoint everday and the questions from his tests are usually ones that he does in class....overall pretty good
Difficult course with hard concepts, but otherwise straight forward class. Anderson seemed really helpful to us but sometimes he goes over concepts too fast. I would suggest taking him if you want to slack off during the course. By all means though, this course isn't designed for slacking. He's a great guy in general.
Dr. Anderson is a very good professor. He explains the very hard concepts of Organic Chem 1 and 2 effectively. Uses powerpoint slides for every chapter, and if you study those, you will pass the class. I usually studied the night before, got C's and lower on the tests and ended up with a C+. He's extremely funny, and really wants you to learn.
Very easy professor, at least for me. He's very down to earth and cool.
Great Teacher! Would recommend him for any class he teaches! Very clear about the subject and what will be on the tests. Only drawback is the fact that the only grades are the 4 tests he gives. As long as the you are prepared to study some (not that much) you'll do fine. Also he is willing to help with any questions on problems during office hours.
Good teacher. First and foremost, he loves what he does and it shows. He's really passionate about explaining concepts and getting you to understand them. He cares. He's so much fun and he still sticks to the point. Let me put it this way, he makes orbitals amusing. Loved him, do take him!
Although I would not say that the class is easy, I very much enjoyed his class. Lectures are simply notes from Power Point, and you have to do a lot of self-studying. Grades are only from four tests. Not really an easy A. He's a great guy, though. Loves what he's doing and can be very entertaining. Oh, and he has an adorable British accent! :)
He's an awesome teacher. Does notes from power points and is very interested in what he does. He wants you to know the information. He does not use textbook in class but you do need it to study for exams and get the details worked out. Three test, final and no hw. He's very amusing and I liked going to his class and his accent. Would take again :D
Orgo 1 Lec: Review slides!, take copious notes with all example problems. Attend all classes, although doesn't take attendance. Can rush through sometimes, but exams are easyyy compared to other professors. Exam 1 is cake- do well. Recommended problems always more difficult than exam. Go to office hours- he tells you what to expect.
Chem 1 Lec: He can be hard to follow sometimes- but just take notes and you'll be fine. Exams are easy and directly based off notes, some problems are directly from chapters in book (esp. exam 3). He's very entertaining. Class isn't difficult.
extremely helpful and clear with what his expectations of his students are. whenever you email him he gets back to you immediately with a complete response, & overall, just a pleasant guy to be around.
He is very nice, understanding and helpful. I had a few problems and he was very eager to help. He has powerpoints that outline the chapters. His tests are challenging if you dont go to class but they are very close to the examples he tells us to do. I loved his class and plan on taking him for a different chemistry subject.
He's a very fun teacher and enthusiastic but goes very quickly through the lessons. The tests are pretty hard, not just equations but explanations as well. He doesn't tell you what to study, doesn't take attendance or assign hw. I made power points as notes since he uses slides to teach. Pretty hard class but he's a cutie and makes it worth while.
Def a really cool guy except I really don't think he's that great of a teacher. He's probably brilliant and good at chemistry but I think he expects everyone to understand the same concepts as his. He's super understanding but his class was just way too hard. The final was 9 chapters with no review or note card. Attendance not mandatory but def go!
This guy is SOOOOOO awesome. His teaching style is crystal clear, only teaches you exactly what you need to know, and to top it off he's just a really cool person. Doesn't take him self too seriously, and is hella funny.I am doing really well in his class because he teaches so well and so clear. I never in my life thought Ido do well in chem.
He's a pretty simple teacher, relaxed atmosphere. Funny guy and pretty knowledgeable. Take him
Took him in the summer. Course was EXTREMELY condensed--lots of material. His powerpoints were great, he answered all your questions and his exams covered all things discussed in class so no surprises but difficult because they were only a few questions with many parts to them. Great if you love British accents. He knows his stuff!
He is definitely a cool guy and funny and the british accent is the best. The only problem i had was he would talk while we were taking notes and its hard to focus on both at the same time. Tests are difficult because there are 8 questions with many parts. A LOT of material be prepared to study for at least a week just for a three chapter test.
He is the best chem professor I've ever had. there are only 3 test and a final and there is no homework. He makes the class easier to understand and is willing to help anyone. His test are kinda difficult but they are easy as long as you copy everything off the power points and study. I would definitely take him again if i could
So good. Literally the best Chem professor there is. Fair, nice, funny; the whole package. Tests aren't that bad either. Take notes and study and you'll do fine!!!
If you want an easy class in which you will definitely understand the concepts definitely go for him. He is funny especially with his accent and if you are having a hard time he is free to go over concepts and help you during office hours. He responds back to emails rather quickly and the lecture in general is easy. Definitely take his class
Dr. Anderson may be the best professor there is for Chemistry. Only 3 tests and a final. Nice guy. As long as you pay attention and take notes, everything is SUPER easy!
Anderson is a really nice guy and is there if you want to ask for help. His British accent is easy to understand and he does teach the material, but he reads straight from the power point and then does the math problems on the board. Three tests and a final with participation no quizzes no homework and attendance isn't mandatory.
Love love love Dr. Anderson. My favorite chemistry teacher at Ramapo. Highly recommend if you have to take chemistry. Organic chemistry is tough but if you go to him for help and go to class, you should be fine.
Dr. Anderson does not give out easy As, but you will get straightforward exams along with a review before. Three short and easy homework assignments. Dr. Anderson will always go back and help explain and he is available for extra help. Definitely attend lectures and review the powerpoints that he puts online. Not bad for a GenEd requirement at all
I couldn't be happier that I took his class! He is so funny and personable. He really makes his students feel comfortable asking him for extra help, and his lectures are interactive. I would definitely take him again!
Anderson gives great lectures and is always there if you ever need help with understanding something. He is also very funny and easy to talk to. Downside is he does not give many exams so you have to perform well on all if not most of the exams to pass with a decent grade. Overall, great professor.
Great Prof. he cares about his students and makes us laugh in class. i got a B+ in the class and could've done better if i tried more, I liked chemistry even more when i took his class, hes a great guy.
Good in Orgo 1, but Orgo 2 was a completely different game. Not just because the material is harder, but he purposely made his tests harder almost to prove a point about how hard it should be. It was like two different professors taught the courses, except it was the same funny guy. Also, he didn't curve in the end! (Probably to prove that point.)
Anderson is really funny and very nice. He is too nice for his own good. He will teach you like a kindergartner but you will retain the information. He instills this excitement in learning that brings about memories of your childhood in which school and learning was fun. He's a straight up guy so don't come to him with no dodgy stuff fool.
I love this guy, I took him for Orgo I and now I am taking him for Orgo II. He such a nice dude who actually knows to teach and connects with students. Even though his Orgo II class is at 8 AM, I loved every single lecture. I am never bored in his class. I wish I could take him for every class because he is that good.
THE BEST CHEM PROFESSOR EVER!! Makes organic chem. so easy to understand. Took him for fundamentals of chem II and both Organic Chemistry I and II. Attendance and homework isn't required but if you don't want to get lost in all the material, do the work, show up and ask questions. He's always willing to help.
He was a wonderful professor! His lecture were easy to follow and simplified perfectly. the textbook would be helpful because he doesnt give a detailed review for the exams but doing the practice problems in the textbook help a lot. He lectures are extremely similar to the text. He also curves generously.
Highly recommend taking him for any of his classes! He's called an easy A compared to other chem profs, but imo that's because he explains everything so clearly. An amazing lecturer and takes his time to make sure that the class actually understands the topic. Good to go to after class if you have questions. Grade is only the 3 exams and final.
Dr. Anderson is the best. He walked into each class with a smile, and used his pleasant British accent to effectively teach the material. He goes at a pace comfortable for everyone. He works through practice problems very similar to what is seen on a test. There was no homework, only tests, and had reviews for them. Definitely will take him again!
Always came to class with a smile on his face. Very straight forward and wants to see you succeed. He is willing to help his students out.
I took Anderson for Principles of Chemistry. He was an absolutely amazing professor. He kept the lectures interesting and engaging despite the heavy material of chemistry. He only graded based on tests but was a generous grader. If you struggle with chemistry I would def recommend taking him, it will be a lifesaver.
Dr. Anderson was one of my hands down favorite professors at Ramapo. I had him for principles of chemistry and he did an amazing job teaching the class and making sure students understood the material. He really goes over the entire powerpoint and thoroughly answers any questions students have. Also his accent makes you want to pay more attention!
AMAZING PROFESSOR for any type of chemistry, professor Anderson cares for his students and wants them to succeed. His lectures keep you entertained and wont bore you like other professors. You will learn lots from Dr Anderson.
Professor Anderson was an amazing teacher and I will definitely be taking him again for organic chemistry. He is very clear on what he expects in exams and gives partial credit on the tests. The one set back is that there are 4 exams (3 regular and 1 final) and that is all your grade is made up of. Regardless, I love this professor and he is a MUST
Took Anderson for Nursing Chem and he was amazing. He would make sure students knew everything they needed to know for exams. Made sure students understood everything he taught. Highly encourage any nursing freshmen to take him!
He is the best chemistry teacher I've ever had. He is super funny and extremely helpful. He teaches very clearly and you never have homework. He takes what you want to be on the test into consideration so that tests are fair. Highly recommend, I wish more professors were like him.
He's an amazing professor and has an amazing British accent. His grades are based upon 4 exams. He edits his grading system so the C+ nursing students need to pass is manageable. He doesn't want anyone to fail. However, if you don't study for his tests, you won't pass. He'll give you all the information you need and you have to do the rest.
Prof Anderson is to this date my favorite prof. His class was challenging but manageable if you put in a fair amount of effort. He made class enjoyable and easy to follow. I never had a problem paying attention even though it was all virtual. Anderson is a great guy and a great chemistry teacher. I can't wait to take more of his classes!!
The course itself is difficult, but professor tries to make it easier to understand. only graded on 3 tests and a final so every grade matters. i'd take his class again.. one of the best professors!
Anderson was able to make chemistry manageable, and was always very helpful and caring in class. Attendance to lectures is not mandatory for your grade, but it is really helpful to show up and do some practice problems from the textbook. Your final grade is based on 3 exams and 1 final so that was a little stressful, but the class is manageable.
i came into his class thinking that he would be a good, caring professor, but in reality he does not care and when he makes a mistake you take a toll on it. even when going to every single one of his classes, he does not take that into consideration and will not help you out. grades extremely meticulously and overall does not explain things clearly
Absolute amazing Chemistry professor!!! Not more to say, but TAKE HIM!!
The subject was very difficult but he made it clear and understandable. He is funny and I really enjoyed his lectures. He also gives topic lists to study for his tests and final and does a review after each test so you can see why you got questions wrong. There were no homework assignments for this class but you were expected to know the material.
Anderson is a good professor who teaches what you need to know for tests. The only issue is that you basically have three tests and a final with no homework to boost your grade. Though people may scare you, Anderson is great and wants you to succeed. Study his PowerPoint, and you'll be fine.
Great Professor who truly wants you to succeed. If you are taking him for organic chem, good choice, but DO NOT disregard this class. You will need to put everything aside and study for hours to really succeed. It is not an easy subject in the slightest, but Anderson does what he can to make it doable. Just don't brush off the class and practice!
Anderson is a great professor & he truly wants you to pass his class. The course is divided into 3 midterms and one final that counts double so you have to work hard. Usually, he will allow you to choose what you feel should be on the test and whatever is chosen is what'll show up. Midterms are always at least 12 questions. Work hard & you'll pass!
Dr. Anderson was the only professor who was teaching Advanced Inorganic, but he is absolutely amazing. Very funny, knowledgeable lecturing, and professional in both a lecture and a lab setting. You just have to work for your grade, like any class. If you have a choice of who to take for Principles, General, and/or Organic, take him!
Great professor, very knowledgable and explained the topics in simple terms. Never made the exams super complicated and was a very generous grader. Only problem is that you are soley graded on three exams and the final, but he is willing to make adjustments as needed for you to pass.
Absolutely great professor. Organic chemistry is hard, but Prof Anderson is caring and tries to make it as easy as possible. There were 4 exams including the final. He is available at his office hours for help. Definitely the best organic professor to take.
I would take Dr. Anderson again if I could - great professor. Highly recommend taking him
I had a bad hs chem experience, so I was scared to do college chem. But with Dr Anderson's humor and encouragement, he made chem bearable-even at 8am. Know tho you gotta WORK HARD for your grade. It's not an easy A. Tests are really fair-tells you topics tested & all of them show up. No surprises. Avoid studying the night before & you'll be fine.
Professor Anderson is the man. I wish all my professors were like him. Super friendly and down to earth, which makes for a great learning environment. I loved this class so much I take it again just for fun. Semester flew by quick. Enjoyed going to every class.
I believe he is an amazing guy, and no, I am not upset with him for failing me. However, he is not clear when asking for support. During office hours, all he ever said was to do the textbook problems, which I never understood. If you think you will struggle with chemistry, please consider taking another professor. Just save yourself.
The only professor I'd wake up for 8 AM class. Treat this class like math class. Stay on pace with the class and make sure you are constantly doing practice problems. Anything you do not understand, make sure to seek help as soon as possible, whether it be asking the professor (who is very helpful) or consulting a tutor. For exams, he can be picky.
Attendance isn't mandatory, but GO TO CLASS! If you don't it'll take 10x more effort to figure it out, solely b/c he just teaches so clearly. Exams are very fair. Make sure you can do every kind of problem from his powerpoints & use the textbook problems that align with them for more practice. Work hard for all exams & you'll be fine!
Hands down best professor I've had at RCNJ. He's organized, follows the syllabus, no HW, & has great review days before and after exams. There are only exams, and they are all open ended so you have to know your stuff. Study the slides and do the practice from the textbook. This is the prof you want; he can make an 8 a.m. class enjoyable!
Attendance is mandatory and he doesn't give homework. His lectures are clear and he posts his slides. He goes over some practice problems in class, practice the rest before tests, they are truly helpful. He makes every question seem valid and doesn't put anyone down for not understanding. The only grades are three tests and a final, no make ups.
Professor Anderson makes chemistry manageable with his engaging lectures and clear explanations. The exams are fair - he shares topic lists to prepare. Unstuckstudy was a great study tool alongside the textbook. Overall, a challenging but rewarding class.
my fav. he is the greatest of all time
