Prof. Breckner was very helpful. Would repeat the same concept several times until everyone gets it. He would review for all exams. He did mention to expect quizzes every week throughout the semester. We were not overwhelm but there was sufficient to cover all the materials. Great personality to learn from. Very intelligent. Overall I recommend him

Great Professor! he is extremely helpful and cares about all of his students! He does review for tests and he absolutely tells you when to expect exams, he uses the text book a lot and will put all examples on the board, he will even stay after class to answer any questions you have. I'm so happy I took the class with him!

Breckner is a excellent professor. He is a really funny guy and cares about his students. Takes his time and effort to explain the problem several times until the whole class fully understands. Tips - Do all your H.W and you'll learn and do great on quiz's and exams. I Highly recommend him a pleasure have him as my teacher.

He's a good professor. Drops the lowest grade.Testes and quiz's are EXACTLY like his review packets or the HW just worded differently on the test.He's able sit and talk to students after class or before if anything.During his lectures u can ALWAYS ask as many questions as u like. If you pay attention and use the math center it shouldn't be too bad

PLEASE don't listen to any of the negative comments He is a great professor that gave of plenty of opportunity's to boost our grades up. For those students that failed it was out of lack of effort and simply pure LAZINESS. i found course to be extremely easy practice test are almost identical to the exams. i myself slacked a bit and still passed.

Prof wants u to do well.He takes the time to make sure everyone understands before he moves on.He is easily accessible via email or phone.Really works with u on grades dropping low test scores and what not.I do not see how any student could give a bad rating unless they didn't put effort into the class.He works with you,but you still have to work.

Professor Breckner filled in for my professor a few times, he's a very nice guy and truly wants his students to succeed in the class. Explains things in a fair manner. Doesn't yell and isn't rude. Doesn't care for attendance himself, but I don't know how he is on the textbook because he wasn't my permanent teacher. I'd recommend him. Hates cheating

Nice professor but his lectures don't cover enough whats in the homework or on his tests. He doesn't go over the harder part of the math chapters. Will help you if you reach out and better to take if you're more of an independent student.

He was one of the best professors Iv ever had in Nassau, He gave you plenty of opportunities to better yourself. He would help you if you ever had a question or a concern, he always went over the work plenty of times. If you didn't pass his class you should maybe consider taking a remedial math class. He was awesome!! and his class was great!!

Prof Breckner is a great teacher. He really wants students to succeed. In my case, he covered for my regular prof several times in the semester and he made the difference in passing the course. My guy was confusing as hell and overcomplicated everything. Breckner was able to explain it all in simpler, understandable terms.

This professor is very helpful! He wants his students to pass and will do everything in his power to do so. Never a dull moment in his class. I Deff recommend him to others. If he sees you try he Deff puts that into consideration.

Professor Breckner is a wonderful and dedicated teacher. He is clear with his explanations and demonstrated different ways to solve math problems. He went out of his way to find information on the next course preceding Math 001 and went over several algebra problems with the class. He even offered to tutor me for the brush up class they held.

I took Professor Breckner for Statistics. He was an extremely helpful teacher for a very tough subject. I would have never thought that I would be able to understand the basis of statistics, all thanks to Professor Breckner. For an 100 class it was pretty simple and clear cut. The material wasn't difficult to understand and if there was any misunderstandings he provided many examples until we had a full grasp of the topic. Overall a good class to take.

Professor Breckner is very laid back and an easy teacher to talk too. The material is difficult, but if you go to class and make time to study you'll be fine. It also really helps if you talk to Professor Breckner throughout the semester, he will help you with any topic your having trouble with and truly wants you to do well.

I loved prof breckner's class and having him as a teacher. He is very involved with his students and genuinely cares how you do. The key is to go to class (and actually pay attention), make time to study, and don't be afraid to talk to him about how your doing/the course work. He is very helpful and works hard at helping his students do well!

From my experience, Professor Breckner was a great instructor. The summer session is shorter, so the work does feel a bit more intense than it would in a traditional term. It's quite difficult to understand why some students would critique the instructor negatively, I believe you need to put in more effort to get an F than at least B+ in the course

Great teacher took Pre-Calc summer/16, his lectures were easy and clear to understand. Quizzes and HW were online both fairly easy, he is nice and gives 3 attempts for the quizzes also he reviews before the test and the tests are very similar to the review sheet, not hard. If you do the HW, Quizzs and practice the review sheets you can get an A

Great teacher who takes his time to make sure students understand the work.

Breckner is a great teacher. For most, math isn't usually easy. So his class wasn't "easy", but that's the material - not him. However, if you ask a question/need help, he'll take the time to explain until you get it. He's spent over an hour after class just to help me. He truly cares. Don't buy the book! Wait until the end & use the free trial!

Prof B is Great! Although, I will admit math is not my strongest subject I managed to get a B+. I will say this class did require a lot of attention however Prof B does a great job explaining the problems to get you to understand. As long as you show effort you will pass the class.

Great professor! Breaks down the course really well! He goes over the material really well making things as easy and basic to understand! I'm definitely not a math person but this class was definitely not bad, and not as intimidating as I thought it would be! Participate, ask questions was much as you need and you should be fine!!

Awesome professor. He really helped me to understand the material and made himself available - answering all my emails and questions right away. He gives all students the opportunity to make up any work and to go to him after class for clarification.

The teachers are very helpful and they do their best to help you succeed. I missed the first 2 math classes and I was playing catch up all semester. There were many times I wanted to drop the class in fare that I won't pass but thanks to my Prof. Stephen and my classmates encouragement I stuck it out and pass. Show up for class and push through.

Professor breckner is pretty caring and will help you out he does dedicate time after the class has ended to one on one/ questions. His grading is tough even for summer calc course. He does teach well but the Wiley book assigned can be hard to get along with and understand. Overall he's decent to take. Just know your stuff. Ask questions.

Of course this is a hard class. But this professor focuses on everything we need to know to pass. He is a very lovable person, geniune, kind and understanding. Any questions we had he would address in full the same day. Class was always enjoyable and entertaining. His sense of humor is what kept me interested throughout this course. 5+stars to him!

Lots of extra credit. As long as youre willing to learn you will pass. Statistics is not a class where you can get an A just for showing up. But the way this professor teaches you will feel like its all 2nd nature. He genuinely cares if you have a concern and helps you understand. I only wish he taught more subjects. Hes such a wonderful person :)

Great Professor, would take again

No Easy A's but does not seem to have a kink for failing people like many math professors. Put in effort and speak to him in advance about issues that may arise for you and he will do his best, within reason, to find solutions. You can take another professor, but why would you? (Especially for math)

Caring and very respectable

STATS is a hard class to begin with, taking it in the winter with 2 weeks to complete 12 chapters was a lot however Prof. Breckner really helped us get through it. He gave extra credit, alternative options, he came in early for reviews. I would deff take him again.

He gave us many opportunities to improve our grades (extra credit, reviews, worksheets, etc). Though he helped us a lot, this class is not an easy A. Great prof! I took his prob&stats evening class, very knowledgeable and down to earth, also hilarious and caring prof! He def want you to pass. Couple extra credits during the course, and curves based on the class average. Highly recommended by James!!!!!!

If you do what he says from the beginning of the semester until the end you will pass. Attendance is a must.

He is an awesome professor, really down to earth guy. I took his probability and statistics course at night and with being the first time teaching this course, he did an amazing job. He gave us extra credit to boost up our test scores. Make sure you pay attention in class and ask questions! Hes glad to help.

Most of the people who left reviews here probably gave 0 effort in the class which is why they did poorly. I am not good at math but he really tried to help me where ever he could. He was very nice and went above and beyond to ensure I did good. Many students in the class just complained but made no effort to do the work. He was very kind!

Not an easy class, a lot to take in, fast paced but he's always available after class if you have any questions and will take his time to explain things over. He also gives extra credit to help raise you grade. Very helpful.

Professor Breckner made Calculus 2 as painless as possible and was very upfront on what to expect on his exams. He does give a lot of handouts, but they work in your favor. Very easy to talk to in class about the material.

Professor Breckner has a clear grading criteria, which is 90% exams. Therefore, you shouldn't miss any lectures! No surprises on the exam - he prepares you well in class for the exams.

Very cool guy, online classes are very hard let alone having to do a calculus class online. He is extremely personable and understanding and very laid back which I believe is very important in being a professor. You don't find professors like him often. His explanations and problem solving are as thorough as they can get while being online

He is a very caring professor and was always very understanding of certain situations and was always giving students the benefit of the doubt grading-wise. I enjoyed this class a lot. He isn't strict/harsh in any way whatsoever. It is easy to do well as long as you follow along and give effort. I would 100% take a class with him again.

When I attended his first lecture I did not know how he was going to be. Glad to say that he was one of the easiest and best professors I had. As long as you do the work that is provided, you should be able to pass the class without breaking a sweat. I would def recommend him.

Great professor if you come to the class prepared. Most students that do not like him is simply not ready for the class and cant keep up. In this case they should review notes on the prerequisite classes. Would definitely take again and highly recommend!! Thanks for an awesome semester.
