Seriously makes this subject fun. Nice Teacher. Very understanding. Defintely knows what he's talking about.

Wow this was a good class! He keeps on schedule and you know what to expect. Pay attention take notes and study the reveiws he gives you. Do the projects and keep time to what he states, He cares about his students!

Mr brown was a great teacher, he is easy to understand, you just need to do the test reviews and go to every class and you will get an a or b, he is very understandable and listens to you

He was very easy and would give you a review for all of your tests. The final is all of the quizzes that you took through out the class so keep track of them. Over all he was very easy, fun, and a nice guy

The best teacher I've ever had. His classes are always fun and interesting. As long as you attend class and look over the materials for the tests which come from the open book quizes, you should get an A.

Very nice teacher, gets involved with the students and helps you out if you need extra help. You take a lot of in class quizzes that you get participation points for. Tests arent that hard if you study for them. I didnt even have a textbook and I got an A, so its not necessary. You give 2 major speeches during the class.

Class was easy in great. A little to distracted by the teachers hotness. Seemed to wear alot of flanel shirts. The giant andy guy next to me was hilarious.

this is a class for those who want to continue their "sheep" training they started in grade and high school.this guy hates it when you think for yourself,he will make clandestine remarks and jab you if you do.its social conditioning for 13th graders.

Mr Brown is a cool guy, great personality, very insightful he wants his students to acheive and his willing to help, gets whole class involved and communicating w/ each other using games for class participation points. fun class don't pass up.

He is a ok teacher. you Must Must go to class in order to get a good grade because he does't have a schedule of what you will do in class and he have quizzez every week sometimes twice a week if you miss them you can miss alot of points also if you miss a class you can miss alot of points cause of class activities,he will never make you up anyhting

Extremely easy; extremely forgiving and welcoming. Great class. I generally enjoyed him, but when I found out that he was greatly favoring some students over others, it diminished my view of him. He votes for the "underdog", therefore giving a student with a horrible speech an A and giving a more intelligent student a lower grade. Dissapointing.

He is very helpful and a great teacher. He has this very cool and nice personality. Just don't use your cellphone inside the classroom though, he will get mad. And don't be late. He doesn't like a tardy student. He is funny but don't let him frown because he looks weird if you see him frown. lol! BUT he is cool and rockin'. God bless Mr. Brown. Kee

He is a very good speech teacher. You do alot of group so you get to know everyone. Which makes it easier to do your speeches.as long as you folow his outlines you will do really good. On his tests make sure you study. On his final just make sure that you KEEP ALL YOUR QUIZZES don't get rid of any of them.you will want them for the final!!!!!!!!!!!

Professor Brown is an amazing, funny teacher. I have terrible fright out public speaking and I improved tons by the end of the semester. He's lecture is very clear on what is going to be on the test. Do the study guide and rehearse your speeches and you are guaranteed an A/B.

Quizzes are open book. You MUST go to class every day as there is a grade every day, book isn't needed just take notes, he gives test reviews and only 2 speeches that are clear and simple. You won't leave class early ever, but show up, pay attention and don't dare to look at your phone and you'll be fine. awesome professor.

Fun class, great teacher. Keep up with your daily quizzes to study for the final since that is your final exactly. He is a stickler for the rules, do not even glance at your cell phone/be late to class on speech days. Summer session is very fast pace, felt overwhelmed at times. So if you dont like feeling rushed then take in a normal sem.

I was terrified to take speech, was dreading it so bad. Mr. Brown was such a great teacher he would have us laughing definitly put us at ease. He is very clear in what he wants gives you all the information you will need to go great. Must show up to class, quizes are open book open note. Even summer session being very fast pace is a MUST MUST take

He doesnt give you alot of work only two speeches and you will be comfortable doing them. Final is simple and he makes sure every one knows every one in the class. Its alot of fun and defently worth taking any semester.

Easy class the 2 speeches are the hardest part. just read the book and participate

I love this professor. He is the most professional teacher at TCC. He gives good grades on homework as long as you do them. Show up on time every day because there are always assignments due and daily activity grades. He gives a lot of extra credit, and he drops the lowest exam grade. (1318 does require a couple of presentations FYI, not bad ones)

GREAT TEACHER! I took his class for wintermester and I had so much fun. He makes you laugh and has fun activites to help u get to know everyone in the class. Be prepared to make two required speeches but he makes it so easy. Take him for speech, you won't regret it.

Very enjoyable class. He truly does have the best interest of the student at heart. He is very professional and takes his class and job very seriously. Loves to have dialogue with the class. He is very generous with the extra credit he gives at the end of the semester. Overally I highly recommend taking this class.

TAKE HIS CLASS!!Come to class do the work and you will have no problems. It's mandatory to give two speeches but if you listen to what he says then you should have no difficulties with them. I recommend him as a teacher. He's not so uptight like some other professors are.

Awesome professor! He is very interesting and hilarious! This is an easy and fun class. Just show up every day and do the work and tests, and you will get an A. He is also very helpful and gives Xtra credit. Don't miss out on him. DON'T text in class or be late because he is stirct on class rules. The only downside is NO MAKE UP WORK NO EXCEPTIONS.

He is so helpful and funny and makes class fun he gives so much extra credit its really important to go to class bc if you dont then you wil miss easy extra credit points. And that is what some of the teachers here in the SE campus DONT HAVE! I am VERY greatful that I was able to get this teacher and no one else cause no one is like Mr. Brown. Great teacher, you learn things you can actually apply to real life, if he's open I HIGHLY recommend taking him, one of the best teachers I had at TCC does NOT permit cell phones, and is very strict about the rules he lays out, also DON'T get arrested on test days overall an Easy A if you do the work and a great experience, took him twice 4 classes

Stephen Brown is a must-take. Yes, attendance is practically mandatory because of daily grades, but he makes you WANT to come because the class is a HOOT!

Easy class, but you must come to every single class because of daily assignments/ activities. He does not let you make up tests or quizzes for any reason at all. Extra credit available though. I got an A+. Tests are the reviews, but have to complete them. His jokes can be annoying and he can be moody

I took his class during winter break and he is very informative. He is very strict with his rules, however he can be generous with the grading process. I missed a speech and he allowed me to make it up which was so great. Take him.

He's awesome. if he's open take his class. You actually have fun in the class and you learn. The tests are pretty okay just make sure you go over your review he gives you. You should be able to ace this class and if you think you're struggling just talk to him he's very open with his students

I had Professor Brown in the Summer of 2013. I took his online course and he made it very easy to follow. As long as you keep up with the work you are assigned each week the class is easy. Overall he is an excellent teacher and is very friendly.

Mr.Brown is the BEST!! Mr.Brown has a great way of making everyone feel comfortable by making jokes and just helping everyone relax before the speeches. There was a little more busy work than I am used to in an online summer class but I actually learned a lot because of that. Great teacher!! Definitely the class to take!!!

Mr Brown is awesome. He is a funny teacher. I took his summer course online, so it was very fast paced. He understood that we all had to get alot of work done in a short amount of time. He was stern about our 2 in class sections though. If I would have known how he was before, I would have LOVED to be in his lecture class. Take him for sure.

Mr. Brown is an amazing teacher. You get along with him from the get go. I don't think I have ever known ALL of my classmates names in a college classroom, but we did in this class. He just knows how to make you feel comfortable. You do need to study, but he has a lot of grades so its not just tests and speeches.There's you pepper :)

Professor Brown is a phenomenal professor, he makes you get to know the class before presenting speeches which relieves a lot of anxiety. He is super kind but will not tolerate talking over him and missing days. This class is easy for the most part. He does not grade on perfection when presenting a speech, which is AWESOME! HIGHLY recommend.

Mr. Brown is fantastic. It's rare to have someone who is so engaging during his lectures and is very clear on all instructions for the class. Review sheets are always handed out prior to any tests, and he gives ample time to prepare for any speeches. In my entire professional and educational career, I can honestly say that the structure of this course is absolutely fantastic. Starting from day one, the hands on activities were by far the most fun I have had in any of my college classes.

I'm taking his online class and we have 11 things due this week. We have 2 Discussion Boards, 2 Journals,2 lesson activities 3 quizzes, 2 outside activities, He sounds great in class but DON'T TAKE HIM ONLINE.

Easy tests and group quizzes :) easy A in this class :), very funny and cool instructor jokes around alot :D only thing i dont like are the rules inside class, you cant leave class, you cant put your phone on the table and he always lets us leave exactly when the class ends :), never lets you leave before that unless you have a good reason

I made a C bc I missed a lot of class. Text book is good for studying but not necessary in class. Overall great experience.

I am really glad a was able to take his class. He is an all around great professor and person. Wait to get the textbook. He doesn't care where you get it. Edition matters

I actually took Professor Brown in 2010,I knew nothing of this site then but I still remember what a awesome teacher he was. Super funny, very helpful and always gave you feedback. Test are easy if you come to class, listen, take notes and do your Speeches. I gained a lot of confidence after this class and I'd do it all over again. AWESOME!!

He gives out a lot of work, discussion actives in class and extra credit work help as a cushion for final grade. He's very critical on both required speeches, don't expect top score on these. He likes feedback, and interaction between students as long as its civil.

Mr. Brown is honestly the best teacher you can take for a speech class. He will make going through this horrifying subject so much easier and smoother. Choose him if you have the chance, trust me you won't regret it. He grades loosely and only really cares if you put in the work. I wish I had him for ever class, seriously.

Professor Brown is an amazing professor. If you fail, IT IS YOUR FAULT, and I don't say that to be rude, but just being real. He gives everything ahead of time, he reads then elaborates, your only job is to do your job (i.e DO YOUR WORK). He's hilarious. There are presentations which are easy if you follow the outline. Brown is a great teacher. Fun, hilarious, even though he has his bad days and is in a bit of a mood. We've all had them. Sometimes he pays too much attention to the disruptive students that need to shut up and pay attention. Other than that, the speeches are easy, he's not a hard grader and pretty fun to sit through a class.

I had Mr. Brown in a team taught course for speech and history, so it was a little different then the standard speech class. It was still a lot of fun, and the speeches were history based. Not hard at all, he liked to pick on me, but I picked on him as well. Pretty much just show up and do the work and you'll pass. I enjoyed the team taught course!

Mr. Brown was an amazing teacher, and a very easy grader! I finished his class with an A for the fall semester, he makes his class very entertaining. He's very hilarious and loves to pick on his students (in a humorous manner). He's pretty passionate about his subject and offers great feedback.

I took him in summer 1 of 2018 and he has by far been my favorite professor. He is hilarious and cares so much about his students. If you have to take speech this is the professor you want. He does make you wear your grown up pants though, if you don't show up for a speech he automatically takes points off. He's understanding if you just reach out.

One of the best Professors to date. He takes a very anxiety inducing class(Public Speaking) and relates it to you as an individual, assisted with plenty of comedy and great constructive feedback. I really wish there were more Professors with his mindset.

So with Brown, he's a really good teacher but he's so extra!! Like he treats us like 5 year olds. He doesn't let us use the restroom! but other than that he's a good teacher.. a lot of work needs to be done BUT its easy work!! most of the time I did it the night before its due! A lot of assignments and Presentations but like I said its really easy!

If you do not want to enjoy a class with a funny, hilarious professor.. Brown is not for you. He is not a tough grader as long as he sees that you are trying your hardest he will give you a decent grade .I see why people might get annoyed of him because he does talk a bunch but at least i got used to it. his lectures are smooth and easy to learn

Love, love, loved him. A great professor and person all around. If you're not good at speaking he really helps calm your nerves. He helps people get that grade they deserve even if they don't speak as much as other people, he works with you on that. He's very caring and hilarious and you wouldn't regret taking his class :)

Professor Brown was great at creating a classroom environment that would help calm your nerves, or made it so that you wouldn't be too worried about messing up on a speech. It might be awkward at first, but just break the ice and get to know your classmates and the professor. Express yourself in your speeches and learn to control your nerves!

Professor Brown is a brilliant and hilarious lecturer. He truly cares about his students and the discipline of speech. All expectations and rules for each assignment are clearly stated. He makes sure you understand how to do each speech and he really helps you get out of your shell. Highly recommended.

He's a good teacher, but sometimes he kinda babies you and treats you like you're in elementary school. There aren't really a lot of assignments, just in class participation and the speeches. He tells you whatever you need to work on to get a better grade for the next speech. Super easy class though.

Professor Brown was so sweet! I took him online for the Maymester course. It was a ton ton ton of work because it was in two weeks so it was understandable. He truly cares about his students and replies to emails very quickly. Super easy class if you do all of the assignments. 4 test and he drops your lowest one. Test are easy as well.

I was skeptical to take public speaking online, but he really made an effort to teach & improve our speaking skills. He's very nice & truly cares for his students. He gives all of your work for the week each Monday and it's due by Sunday at 10pm, so you can work at your own pace. It's a lot of work, but doable & you can easily make an A if you try.

Professor Brown does a great job of breaking down concepts and making students feel comfortable with the material. He also creates interesting projects that add to the class as well as giving out reviews for exams. He makes every student feel comfortable with speaking in public. Highly recommend him as long as you don't mind putting in some effort.

Intro to Speech Communication. This class is easy to pass. There is a little bit of work to do but it's not back. The only complaint is that if you turn your work in earlier, you can't resubmit. No late work.

I took Professor Brown my very first semester, and loved him. I was terrified, but he made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable. Giving speeches is HARD but he is encouraging and a very lenient grader. Take him! You will make friends and you will be brought out of your comfort zone but in the best way.

BEST PROF EVER! Super kind and makes learning enjoyable, willing to work with you outside of office hours. He doesn't expect you to know what youre doing and just push work out, instead, he pushes out video lectures and instructions that break everything down for you. Also includes weekly memes to encourage you to be your best.

I took speech summer 1 2021 as a five week course and Mr. Brown made it a breeze! Everything was clear and organized and hes such a character with his lecture and reminder videos. Its rare to see a teacher with so much enthusiasm, it just made me enjoy this online class a lot! It was mainly discussion boards, 3 main speeches, and 3 exams exams.

I took this class for Summer1 and it was really easy in my opinion. Mr. Brown is very friendly and caring, he will give you opportunities to make sure you pass. Over all a good class.

If you need 1315 TAKE HIM! He definitely cares for you to pass. Extra C. Says he doesnt take late work but if sumn happened he will work w you. Replies super fast. Grades fast. Work is EASY. I barely watched any lectures, no textbook still got an A. Looks like a lot of assignment but if you plan out beforehand its really not. 2 major speeches.

Mr. Brown was the best professor of this entire semester! Our speech class was ALWAYS fun, lively, and full of jokes. Definitely some lecturing but not too much. The speeches are easy if you follow his guidelines. He was absolutely amazing and I truly enjoyed spending the semester with him. He's always respectful and leaves room for expression.

I cant describe how amazing this man is. He is so nice, outgoing and most importantly passionate about what he teaches. I took him and i was very nervous about giving speeches and talking out loud. But Mr. Brown helped me overcome it. He cracks jokes and breaks the ice in the room where it just feels like we are all a big family. He's so funny!

He will ask if you looked him up on here! He will be that prof you can always come back and get advice from no matter what. You will learn so much and not even realize the changes in yourself till you look back. Best Prof at SE

I took Professor Brown's Business and communication class for the 2021 fall semester. As an introvert speech has always been hard. He tries to make sure you are comfortable with your classmates and he tries to make sure you understand the material. I would definitely recommend anyone to take Professor Brown's Speech class.

Mr brown is such a great and amazing teacher, becides the beating he gave me when i misbehaved. Im kidding... or am i... Mr brown is super cool and he lets us have fun in his class. He encourages creativity and stuff. The only thing that kinda sucked is that you can use your phone when others are presenting which is sad but oh well.

By far my favorite professor I've had. Each class was fun, and I felt like I could relax in the class and not be stressed. Helped ease my nerves before speeches and you can tell he really cares about his job. Great guy, great class, will miss it a lot.

I had him in Spring 2020. He was not only a caring teacher, but VERY FUNNY. I miss him and I wish I could take him again. Tests were a bit difficult, but I still passed!

Love this class. Great teacher!!!! Nice, understanding, and funny. Only thing is exams are a little tough but if you pay attention and take notes in lectures you will be okay.

He's great! His lectures are funny and he tries his best to connect with his students. The class is really easy, just make sure you do the work because he doesn't accept late work, but overall it's a super easy and fun class.

Took Fall class. Easy class, assignments usually don't take long, easy grader. Most intensive work are the prepared speeches but if you know how to use the library database, rehearse, and correctly follow the outlines it's an A. Encourages students to speak up but is never pushy. Will never make you ashamed of being shy. 100000/10 Amazing guy.

Lots of fun, food talk to get the class engaged and in a good mood. Was a month long course, and Mr. Brown made nervous strangers make quick acquaintances with all his fun shenanigans. The content was easy to learn and test if you pay attention and look in the Canvas modules, and listen to his lecture. Great Course!

Currently taking class, Mr. Brown is awesome! He's fun and very helpful. This class is teaching myself and my peers how to express ourselves in the proper manner while also preparing those of us who will speak publicly. He's very funny and loving. He wants the best for his students!

Professor Brown made every lecture very engaging with his sense of humor. He's very skilled at giving lectures and doesn't rely on a textbook. He replies to his emails very quickly.

Professor Brown is by far the best professor I have ever had. He makes us do two presentations throughout the semester, and random assignments that makes us prepare for the presentation. He does try to make everyone feel comfortable, he also tries to make sure people try to network with one another. He won't force you if you don't want to.

Prof. Brown is the goat. He cares deeply for all his students and is often a jokester. He makes sures to include everyone and is very glad to communicate about grades and life. Lectures are fun and engaging. Speech assignments always have plenty of time to work on. Great guy, would take his class again

This man is possibly the greatest professor I ever had. He includes everyone in the discussion and he always puts a smile on my face. The best professor at TCC 10/10

took him this summer he was the best! he makes his classes so much fun! 3 major presentations which are mandatory to pass the class. I plan to take another one of his classes in the spring if he has some! I love his class. I'm glad I chose him instead of another professor. He makes the class fun! he loves his jokes and backtalk. Taken in summer, so workload was a little crunched. Easy class, with more than enough extra credit to get over a 100. Three big and one small speech, with impromptu group speeches sprinkled between; don't crunch the big ones. A couple of tests, last one being a test taken by the whole class in groups. Free book, but not needed. IN AND OUT REPRESENT

Best class I have taken, I took this class during the summer and the professor makes the class so much fun and it makes you feel comfortable with all the activities. I would take this class again if I could. You do learn a lot and meet what the class stands for. 100% recommended.

Professor Brown definitely made my 8 am mornings! Usually during morning classes I am tired and dread going to class, but, every time I go to class, I have a smile on my face! He really cares about his students and it shows, also, when a professor is dedicated you can tell and he definitely is! Group activities helped ease my anxiety.

He's very engaging, as he makes sure everyone in the class is comfortable. His work isn't that hard, but it's hard if you procrastinate. I really enjoyed his class and he's a great person.

Hes a really great teacher and made sure his students felt welcomed and engaged. One thing to be careful of is the outlines for speech. His assignments are easy and he provides examples USE THEM!!

He gave a lot of extra class, was super funny, and you could tell he really cared about his students even if you were shy or weren't good at speaking.

Amazing teacher! Right off the bat, he is very caring and funny. Participation is key when taking this course. He is strict with his grading criteria; however, he clearly communicates expectations in his lectures and on Canvas. For anyone thinking about taking his class; don't judge a book by its cover

He made sure everyone was comfortable/not as nervous during class. Just follow the example outlines for his speeches and you'll be fine.

Never had a teacher care so much about our grades like Prof. Brown. Very caring guy, as long as everyone participates the class was a breeze. Make sure you show up to class as there is a lot of class activity, for speeches just follow the outline he gives you and makes you feel really comfortable and less nervous when doing speeches. Great Teacher.
