This class is amazing!! There is a bunch of extra-credit and the test are easy as long as you pay attention during the lecture. The material is so interesting and the class is fun!! Caffey is one of those professors that is really refreshing to have every once in a while. This class is a MUST take. EASY A as long as you come to class!!
You have 4 tests. They are all online and it is open book/open note and you have 5 days and multiple attempts. The rest of your grade comes from class participation. You have to go to class to pull out an A even if you make 100s on every test. Extra credit is available. Caffey is very intelligent and a pretty cool guy as well.
Caffey was a super nice guy who definitely loves architecture. While it's not the most interesting subject in the world to me personally, he made it fun to learn. Tests (4) are all online and you have multiple attempts. The rest is easy extra credit points & class participation points (just show up and you'll be fine). Would take again!
Great guy
Awesome Prof! Please take him he's great :) Best Class ever
Great guy, the online exams are pretty long but not too difficult, gives out a lot of extra credit. The online class lecture videos were not mandatory to watch, could do well without them.
Thoroughly enjoyable classes!
his exams are really difficult and time consuming. theyre open note but impossible to do. his extra credit is also a lot of work. his online class was sorta unorganized and links/assignments would not work. difficult to get in touch with. he's a nice guy but the class should definitely be more doable than it is. really have to work for the grade
Caffey is unclear with the instructions in his course. I would not recommend taking him online he is very hard to get ahold of ( will not return emails/ phone calls). His grading for assignments was not fair because TAs graded it. Ive heard he's good if you take him in class
I would not recommend taking his class online. He is probably a good professor to take in person. My only problem was that the online exams where insanely long and detailed. Each exam took me 4+ hours .
Caffey was an awesome professor! To get an A it is vital that you do as much of the extra credit as possible because the exams are very difficult. They are online, and multiple attempt on the brightside. Caffey is charismatic and makes class interesting. Take him if you can.
Caffey was honestly the best professor I've ever had. He is hilarious and gives more than enough opportunities to make an A. The lectures can get a little boring, but he tries to keep it interesting. Easy A for sure!
Lectures can be long but he makes an effort to help you get an A. The tests were open note online so they weren't too difficult.
First of all, he gives so mich extra credit, its ridiculous! Take his class! He is a GREAT prof who really know his history. Very nice guy! The tests are online and collaborative, so that's a major plus. Homework is online, super easy though. His lectures are interesting and he keeps the whole class very lively. I highly recommend him!
He gives so much extra credit it would be difficult to get less than a B in his class. He does take attendance and you get more extra credit points if you attend class regularly. He knows the topic well and is engaging in his lectures. Tests are online, multiple choice, collaborative and open note which includes the lecture slides that he posts.
This class was I great choice, highly recommend. There is always extra credit options. He really cares for all the students, easy to talk to, funny, and enjoys what he is doing.
If you get him for gateways you're golden. Coolest guy. Wants you to do well just as much as you do. Tough not to get an A due to there always being extra credit and group tests. He really likes when people argue/want to further talk about what he's teaching, so if you for some reason need to get on his good side, that's the way to do it.
Caffey does give a lot of extra credit, his homeworks are a joke, tests are open note and everyone can collaborate in class. His lectures are amazing, if you take some notes and use all your powerpoints on tests, you will get an A.
This class is easy, but Caffey really knows his stuff and tried and succeeds to make the class fun and engaging.
super cool dude. he knows most people take this class for an easy A, so he just teaches what he likes. super lecture based, but he gives away test questions/answers in lecture. interesting class overall
Caffey is a bro. His tests are online and are very easy if you work with a group of people. He gives up to 10 points of extra credit that will be added on to your final course grade, and you can never show up to class and still get an A without trying very hard.
This class is extremely easy. 1 day a month when all the online homework, assignments on ecampus and exams are due (usually on Mondays). His exams are super long but they are not timed and you can take it however many times you want. Problem is that you won't know your grade on the attempts until after the test closes. I suggest doing the EC.
Caffey is so chill and understanding, cares more about the content of what he's teaching than trying to make your life hell. He understands that you have studio & stuff so he really keeps everything reasonable. I learned so much cool stuff just listening to him talk. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it was my favorite class to go to by far.
ARCH 249 was very easy with Caffey. Class attendance is extra credit, so not very many people showed up on a daily basis. He provides a lot of extra credit opportunities and even made a groupme for our class, all tests are online, he even encouraged us to get together to work on them since his tests aren't super easy. Would definitely take again
ARCH 249 was honestly enjoyable with Caffey. Mind you I'm an engineering student with no interest in architecture or history at all. He makes the lectures interesting and easy to follow. His tests are rather difficult but are online, MC, open book/collaborative and over the weekend. EC provided but affected by attendance. Attendance optional.
Caffey is a highly intelligent and amusing individual who genuinely cares about his students education and knowledge of the subject he is teaching. He will ask you to do some things outside of class- it is best that you do them... the more you participate throughout the semester, the easier life will be at the end. Take him- you wont regret it.
All tests are online and he encourages us to work together. He is a great guy and is obviously very smart in all areas, not just architecture history. Expects the right amount out of students. Would 9292% take again.
By all means, take this class! I took this class to fulfill my creative art & it was worth it! Attendance is not mandatory at all, but Caffey is definitely worth going to listen to. Tests are online, open on Fridays and close on Mondays, with unlimited attempts and time. He offers tons of extra credit even though you will probably not need it!
Besides the first half, this class is a stereotype. The way people talk when they make fun of modern art is how this guy lectures. I came away from this class appreciating art much less because the reasons he gives to justify modern art are ridiculous. He also makes everything incredibly political or have political slants which is very annoying.
This class was a breeze. 4 tests make up 80% of the grade while participation and reading grades make up the other 20%. Everything is either graded on participation or unlimited attempts with the highest taken. The only problem is that lectures are boring and the instructor is difficult to reach outside of class. Easy A.
EASY HONORS A. He gave a ton of extra credit (over 25% of my grade was extra credit). His lectures were easy even for me, who had no previous knowledge of architecture. His tests are online, open book, open note, collaborative (if you want), and you can take them multiple times and are open for at least the weekend.
I took this class online and it is quite difficult. He offers a lot of extra credit but it is necessary due to the fact that his tests are SO challenging. Without a GroupMe of peers, I don't think I would have done as well on all of the tests. If you put in the work an A is possible but this is not a blow-off class (which I thought it would be).
DO NOT TAKE THIS AS AN ONLINE SUMMER COURSE!!! So heres the thing, Caffey isn't a bad professor the class material is just horrible. I am not sure how easy or not it is during a normal semester, but I took this as a summer course and thats a mistake you only make once! There is just WAY too much work. I made an A, but I worked my butt off for it!!
Stephen Caffey is by far the best teacher I have ever had! He was very specific to what was required of the course and was always there to help me on anything that was challenging. I highly recommend you to take 249 with him. He offers a ton of extra credit that you do need due to the fact tests are challenging although you will be fine
Tests were extremely frustrating. You have to watch every lecture video and recquired videos to do well. He gives an insane amount of extra credit. Ended up getting 20 points added to my final grade.
Caffey is literally the best! I took this class over the second summer session, so it was in person and not online. He is truly hilarious and is so flexible and willing to help you out if you just ask. Tests are hard but he offers so much extra credit it is hard to not make an A. He makes, what can sometimes be, a boring subject very interesting.
Caffey is a great guy and he's really passionate about the subject. Unless you're an ARCH major, it can be a little boring, but go to class because he gives out test answers and extra credit. The tests are online with multiple attempts and he recommends you take them with other students, so find a large group to take the tests with!
Took this class to satisfy a credit and I detest it. Everything is group work, groups are assigned randomly so it's likely your group doesn't have a compatible schedule to you. Instructions provided in differing locations, necessary materials take too long to download. More stress than necessary. Not environment related. Take a THAR class instead.
This class is the most unorganized I've ever taken. The assignments don't match up with the syllabus and he assigns different things through email and others through blackboard. You don't get full credit it your group (who you don't even know) does ALL complete the assignment. This class SUCKS- don't take it!!!
Caffey is a really cool guy who is insightful on a lot of topics. This class seemed to be all over the place with deadlines unclear, but if you pay attention to ecampus, you should be fine. He gives extra credit nearly every day on discussion boards if you were in class. The whole class is group work, so better hope you get a good group.
Caffey is very passionate about what he teaches and I had the best time in his class. If you don't care, you'll be bored, but if you do, you learn a lot. He cares more about learning than the grading so don't be stressed. Overall, would totally recommend.
Interesting lectures but assignments arent very well defined and its easy to get behind or miss something. Attendance is not mandatory but he gives a lot of extra credit for showing up. Very cool and understanding prof.
Easy A class! You work with students on exams and Caffey is adorable and funny! Super fun lectures and well he offers a lot of extra credit opportunities!
This was the best class I've ever taken! Caffey is passionate about what he teaches and wants you to learn. He is charismatic and makes the lectures interesting. All of the assignments are interesting and you actually learn and care about the content of this class. I would definitely take it again if I could!
Great class. Very funny and is very passionate.
Professor Caffey is a great professor. His grading is clearly outlined, and he provides numerous opportunities for extra credit. I would definitely recommend taking his class.
This is honestly the easiest class I will ever take. Read to syllabus and take note of when stuff is due because he doesnt always mention it in class, but the homework is insanely easy and mostly just asking for your opinion of things. Hes a cool professor. I honestly cant say what the purpose of the class was, but in a way it was therapeutic.
The guy's really sweet and you'll never have to exert too much effort to get what you want out of the class. It's a real shame such a great guy is stuck teaching a subject nobody cares about.
If you need a creative arts credit this class is a great choice. It is a laid back class focused on mainly group projects.
Horrid as an online class, unless you're majoring in arch, don't take for GPA boost. Requires you to memorize the tiniest, most useless information. Feel bad for y'all lib arts majors, so much information for no applicable reason.
Really tough for an online class. Very detail oriented. The test are open-note and take at home over the course of a weekend. You might think that would make them pretty easy, but do not fool yourself. Some questions ask you to name a building based on a obscure characteristic from one frame of the video lectures. Test usually take up half a day.
I find this material interesting, and thought it would make for a good creative arts elective. HOWEVER, his exams which make 80% of your grade, are insane. You will spend a minimum of 5 hours per attempt. You can easily get an A, but it depends on your patience and ability to commit half a day or more to his exams. Theyre awful.
Took this class as an easy art credit and regret it more than I explain. He is all over the place, expects way too much from you outside of class, and wastes every minute of in-class time on irrelevant videos. Very small chance of you getting an A, so it's hardly even worth the effort. DO NOT get sucked into this absolute garbage fire of a class.
super cool, group everything and online, you can take tests however many times you want with as many people as you want
Absolutely horrible teacher
Most of the grade is from the tests but you get 3 days to take them online and can use notes, lecture videos, peers, etc. As someone who didn't pay much attention in class, I found tests time consuming but were an easy A if you are willing to spend the time to look through notes for answers or get help from other students.
Caffey was a great prof. Grade consists of 5 projects and class participation. Easy A if you just do the work assigned. It is so obvious that he cares more about teaching students to be creative than the grade assigned, but he grades because students would be too lazy otherwise. He really cares about his students and grades easily. TAKE HIM
The work assigned was easy enough, but I didn't learn a single thing in his lectures. He basically plays clips of TED talks throughout the whole lecture and then expects you to learn. He is extremely left leaning politically, and unnecessarily incorporates these views in class, assignments, and grading. Also he never replies to emails.
He doesn't respond to emails nor is he clear in what he wants out of the projects. This is probably one of the worst classes I have taken at A&M and not because of the subject but because the professor was just that bad.
grades based on his opinion and is impossible to reach outside of class for help. He has unclear and subjective project instructions. An overall terrible professor, do not waste your time or money on this class. he waited to grade until the end of the semester, essentially screwing students who wanted to improve their grades and wanted to do well.
The professor is impossible to contact, posts grades a month after they are submitted and every assignment has very vague instructions and you may recieve bad grades for not doing exactly what they want even though it wasn't made clear. Points are taken off if the entire class doesnt submit on time and if you contact the dean you automatically fail
By far the worst class I have ever taken! Takes a month to grade assignments. Grading is unclear and the class loses points if the entire class doesn't do an assignment. If you want a professor that responds to emails that is not him. The class isn't graded by him just TA's which are diff. every project. I would not recommend this class to anyone.
The rumor are true ENDS 101 is the easiest class on campus. This professor expects a lot from you and sets the expectations high, but in reality he gives A's for the bare minimum. At the beginning of the semester you are assigned group mates for the remainder of the class. Projects are super easy and professor is generally receptive of your issues.
Caffey's class is 80% tests and 20% class participation/assignments. Overall he knows the subject well but the the tests are far harder than what is taught in class. Each test also takes several hours to complete.
Was unreachable almost the entire semester and with it being an online course that is very unhelpful. Did not get anything graded until after the q-drop deadline only because as a class we had to complain to the assistant dean of architecture. A different TA grades each project. Grades are based off of opinion and if yours doesn't match, you fail.
Prof Caffey was a really interesting teacher. All the tests were done in groups and are really easy to get good grades on if you just work with your classmates in a large group. Attendance wasn't necessary but when I did go I thought his lectures were fascinating and he's a really nice and funny guy!
terrible professor. unclear instructions and takes forever to grade. would be an easy class if assignments and projects were not so unclear. do NOT take this class or at least NOT this professor.
Caffey is an okay professor. He's really hard to reach via email despite this being an online class. The online class is mostly group projects that are easily doable. Grading can be a bit confusing and what is expected on each project is a bit hard to discern with instructions not being entirely clear. Overall the class is manageable if you work it
The class are by group projects, but the instruction are super vague so was the grading system. You are luck if the TA answer your Email, but that it not always the case. Most of time(2-4 out of 10) you will get a answer. Some extra creadit are if everyone in the class did it you will get 1 point (did not say if it's the overall).
Class was group project based and projects did not coincide with lecture material. Grading requirements were largely unspecific and feedback as to what you did wrong on any certain assignment was nonexistent. Grades were given late so you could not ask about what you did wrong on an assignment. Overall easy class just take with any other professor.
Very good professor.
Very understanding prof, he wants you to succeed and will help you do so, although its usually a large class he seems like he genuinely cares about each student. Exams are open note and can be worked on in groups, very helpful if you missed part of a lecture.
What a gem. ARCH 249 had group tests and plenty of time for freshman to get aquatinted to the A&M culture. Would definitely take again. Prof. understands that his class may not necessarily have the priority. Awesome guy.
Open-book, online, untimed tests made for a relatively easy A. Attendance was mandatory, but his lectures were so wonderful and interesting that going really wasn't a chore. I felt bad for him because he is so passionate about his subject but most of the students don't care about it. Wonderful, understanding prof.
The professor is very passionate about the class, but way too much time in lectures is spent discussing things that aren't useful to the graded group projects (Which account for 90% of your grade). The class is horribly disorganized and my group constantly struggled to know exactly what was expected. Cool content though - take a different professor
Dr. Caffey is a very passionate professor and definitely knows what he's talking about. However, to get a decent grade you have to WORK for it. I took this class as an elective and didn't expect to have to do so much work. Tests are hard but by doing the 20+ extra credit assignments (that take absolutely forever), you should get an A. Goodluck!!
One of the most poorly organized courses I've ever taken. Whole class is project based, lecture material has nothing to do with projects. Plenty of times I asked myself what I was suppose to be doing. Didn't grade anything till mid-term grades, so I had no idea how I was performing in the class. Feedback was decent at best from the TA's.
Caffey loves doing what he does. His lectures are very engaging and interesting, but you don't have to go to his lectures to get an A in his class. The tests are kind of hard, but if you know how to find information/look up stuff on the internet it's not that bad. He gives lots of extra credit opportunities as well.
I would not recommend this class. The tests are open note, but are extremely difficult and they take HOURS to complete There is extra credit offered but it is challenging to get all the extra points. They also take hours to complete and it's rare to receive all the points. Try to take another class if you can. I wish I did.
Amazing
You can tell Caffey really loves teaching ENDS101, its an easy class, with like 90% of the grade coming from 5 group projects.
Caffey is a great professor. He made his class fairly easy, though sometimes it can be confusing to figure out what exactly he wants. He structures the class so the whole thing is group projects. The only thing that I do not love about Caffey is how long he takes to grade. We did not receive any grades back until two weeks before school ended.
Worst experience ever had at this university! Half of your time is spent on an online textbook that is complete busy work and the other half is used on his tests. The test are unlimited time and attempts so you would think it would be easy to get a decent grade right? WRONG! His tests take hours to do and are insanely hard. Stay Away!!!
Dr. Caffey is a great prof for ENDS 101, the class is a bit confusing but once you figure out that it is about learning to work with a variety of different people, settings, and ideas the class is pretty easy. It is based around 5 group projects that he gives ample time to work on so completion should be of no concern. Definitely recommend.
The tests are very difficult even though they are open note. Also the grading shown on canvas is very confusing. The textbook is also not even helpful for a good amount of the test. This class is very time consuming for an elective class and if you want an A then get ready to put in hours.
The reason this class was so great was because of Dr. Caffey. He was fun and engaging. We had weekly work that was easy to complete as long as you were in class. BEWARE: Group projects are a major part of this class and can make or break your experience. I found myself doing all of the work and it was not fun. There are peer evaluations though.
Terrible online class. 5 exams, unlimited attempts, time and collaborative. Sounds good on paper but it's not. The book work is a waste of time and takes hours to finish. The exams are extremely hard. The only way to do okay on them is to take notes on the hours of video notes that he gives us. All to top off with a group project. Don't take him!
If you are considering taking this class...DONT. Although it is not necessarily "hard" to get an A, IT REQUIRES SO MUCH TIME and your other grades will suffer. He forces you to take tests only on the weekends but then won't answer any emails until Monday, he assigns 6 hours of bookwork at a time, 30 question tests can take upwards of 4 hours. RUN!!
he is super enthusiastic and engaging! the class is super easy, and if you do minimal work, then you can get an A. he gives you the discussion board prompts in class, so it's smart to show up and not skip. I took the honors section of this course and it was a lot of fun!
Professor Caffey is easily one of the best professors out there. His class consists of daily discussion board assignments and four team design projects, which you have to work on in teams of 4-6 students. However, his lectures are the best part of the entire class - his style of teaching encourages creativity, and keeps you coming back for more.
This was the most difficult class I took this semester - and it was online! The homework isn't so bad (just time consuming); it's mainly the tests. Organize all of your notes or else the test will be incredibly challenging, because even though exams are open note, they are still really hard. I often couldn't find answers in the notes, too.
Cranky Caffey was very cranky. His online group tests took several hours to complete. Some questions started with "Though the professor may have misspoken during lecture..." and we had to find the correct answer on our own (Which considering how oddly specific his questions are makes it difficult to find the correct answer anywhere)
PAUSE! If you are reading this, do not freak out about this class. The tests are open note and unlimited attempts, and while they take a couple hours, your Google visual searches will improve. 10 points xtra crdt onto final grade. Didn't give this class any thought until day before test. Absolutely doable, and not that much of a struggle. EASY A.
Took this class thinking that it'd be an easy class. The Smartbook exercises take a while for the hw but do them before test. The tests absolutely suck; you spend so much time doing them but Google search and ChatGPT are your friends. He gives a max of 10 bonus points added to the FINAL grade so don't sweat about the tests. I'd pass on this class
very laid back but requires you to do your work, keeps class lectures interesting, and is easy to pay attention to.
Dr. Caffey is so incredible. He's funny, knowledgeable, and one of the only professors I have seen utilize a large lecture hall well.
Open note tests, unlimited time and attempts. Test will take a few hours but really required no studying, just be proficient in searching for answers. Homework was very easy and completion based, just read the textbook and answer questions.
5 units. Tests were open-note, opened for 4 days, unlimited attempts & time, & can work with others. Each unit had Smartbook Exercises ranging from 1-5hrs to do. Each question gives the section where the answer is located, so not hard to do, just long. One extra credit assignment per unit. Long lecture vids, but would recommend watching for test.
I took ARCH 249 online and was surprised after the first exam. The exams are difficult and pretty specific. However, the extra credit opportunities are amazing - DO ALL THE EXTRA CREDIT and you'll get an A. Also, don't wait to start all the videos and notes the weekend before the exam is due, try to start at least a week before the exams.
He is so knowledgeable and funny! Loved this class!
He makes an otherwise boring class into something kind of interesting.
Took 249 online, super easy class. Participation is super important to pass the class, had a group assignment at the end of the semester. Each unit comes with textbook review exercises which can be super tedious. Test were open resource and you were allowed an unlimited amount of attempts to complete. Also offers up to 10pt extra credit.
A smartbook assignment, test, and maybe one extra assignment, and optional extra credit per module. Smartbook is an automatic 100 if you do it. Tests are open note and not proctored but very hard. I never made over an 80. The extra credit is helpful. The amount of work isn't worth it if you don't need this class to graduate, take another elective!
If you are lacking on Cultural Discourse and Creative Arts, take Mr. Caffey for ENDS 101. He makes an otherwise boring class very fun, and there isn't any technical classwork. Mr. Caffey will also humble you in debates. Easy A. However, attendance is indirectly mandatory, because you have to submit your lecture notes taken in-class for a grade.
great teacher and exams were easy as long as you took your time.
I love the way he has his class set up. I wouldn't recommend studying, just find all the answers in the textbook/videos/slideshows the day of the exam. It takes a few hours, but it's not too bad. He offers lots of extra credit, so use that to your advantage! And stay on top of the SmartBook assignments because those will creep up on you!
Would not recommend it if you want an easy class to bi-pass. Tests are difficult, even though they are online. Some assignments are confusing, and it is hard to get in touch with him. Group project due at the end with little time given considering it is finals week.
Really good natured guy, had a sense of humor, made lectures interesting, fostered a supportive learning environment
I took this class bc people said it was an easy A & I needed a creative art. Worst mistake ive made. SOO much videos & textbook to read and the test are way too long and time consuming even with unlimited time & attempts. not worth it at all. he gives extra credit towards your overall grade which is nice but still would rec. taking another elective
Definitely take him for ENDS 101. No tests, projects are super easy and fun to do. The content was also very interesting
Exam smartbooks make me want to perform Northgate activities to myself
This was a difficult class, but Caffey encourages to use your resources and work with others in the class. Test was completely open resources but finding answers is almost impossible on the internet. You have to scavenge through the textbook or notes alot. Tests are unlimited attempts, but I would find myself spending hours and hours on them.
Ends 101 is without a doubt my easiest class this semester. Great class to fulfill the creative arts requirement. Dr. Caffey is also funny and energetic, so if you're one of the few people that doesn't skip, the classes will still be worth your time.
Did every assignment the day it was due. 4 assignments graded on completion. 5 exams and if you are smart you can use google images for all of it and skim through videos and lecture slides to answer questions (exams for me took 2-4 hours). 5 smartbook assignments (mcgrawhill) that you can speedrun copy and pasting questions but take 1-2 hours. EASY
Guy is wacky & content is wacky but it is an easy class
Lots of content so try to stick to a schedule because it is easy to fall behind. Tests and smartbook exercises are very time consuming but super easy so you will spend a lot of time but no reason to do poorly. Very generous with grading and tons of EC. Lectures were really interesting and I loved listening to them. Would recommend if you need an A.
final average is above 100 :P
The professor is engaging and cares a lot about the topic. You can turn assignments in as late as you want. Grade consists of discussion posts from each class and 4 group projects with one assigned group. Allows the usage of AI. Never attended class and split up project work. Free 100. Extra credit is there if needed
This guy's the GOAT. The class is just 4 big group projects with the final being the biggest one. His lectures were really funny and interesting. There's no late penalty for the discussion boards, but that can be a double-edged sword depending on the type of student you are. Overall, easy A.
Easy A (100+% grade average) DO ALL THE EXTRA CREDIT. You will thank yourself later. Exams (5 total) are open everything, unlimited attempts&time, during 1 weekend. Smartbooks were time-consuming, but easy. Find a good group for exams--it will save you a lot of time. Proff opened up all past exams last minute for re-grade if you wanted it.
For ENDS 101, he was an amazing professor. The course work, while slightly dull at times, was easy to understand and pretty light overall. The only grades in the class are group projects and attendance, but the grading on the group projects is incredibly free. You have to proactively try to get a grade other than an A. Great double credit choice!
Professor Caffey makes this class work if you put in the effort. The tests are challenging but open-resource, so using tools like Unstuckstudy and the textbook is key. Overall, a fair class if you stay on top of the assignments.
Dr. Caffey is a very good professor, has engaging lectures. All grades are group assignments or discussions. Attendance is not needed even with the discussion posts since you can see others' posts. Only caveat of this class is the group projects since you are randomly assigned and most people aren't willing to do the work. Also lets you use chatGPT
Please take this guy for ENDS101, he will make your life so easy. The attendance in this class consists of discussion posts that you can easily do online and the grades are easy group projects. Overall, Caffey was a well-spoken guy and he always makes his lectures super entertaining to attend.
Take the class and you can ignore it for most of the month until its time for the exam. Open note and unlimited, but the questions are crazy specific and you gotta spend an hour or two sifting through course material LOL. Other than that easy A. Caffey's also cool, uses a bunch of AI generated people to lecture which is pretty hilarious.
Really great professor and easy class. Good lecture videos and lots of material to learn a lot of new interesting things. Responds to emails quick and is reasonable and understanding.
This class is structured so that you get an A. However the exams are insanely hard and often found me and my friends spending hours at a time of them. They're open note and have unlimited attempts, but I recommend taking this class with a friend so you can do the exam together. Everything else was fine.
Dr. Caffey is an energetic and passionate teacher. He encourages innovation and discussion. This was a very unique class and an easy class; just do your work! The only bad thing is that it took FOREVER for grades to be put in. Other than that, I highly recommend you take this class for GPA reasons and to learn a few real-world things.
Legendary professor. Easy class, don't even have to show up if you get even a somewhat competent group for the group projects. He was funny and clearly loves teaching, I really loved this class because there was 0 stress. Just turn something and you will get a 100.
He's super chill, I had him for the online class and he's nice. It's just that the tests take forever and are really annoying but I did all the work for each module like two days before they were due and I was fine. Just remember to do the homework and your life will be so much easier. But take his class it's an easy A and he has extra credit!
Tests are unlimited attempts, they took some time but not too bad. Only a few assignments due every few weeks and not very time consuming. Lots of extra credit opportunities throughout the semester. Nice teacher and easy grader.
He is very passionate about his class. Have to complete a discussion board response for each class but attendance is not mandatory. 3 group projects that only take an hour to complete. He encourages use of ChatGPT. Easy A. The class is actually very interesting
As long as you actually do the work this class is a very easy A for creative arts. The only grades are basically posting on daily discussion posts (you are supposed to go to class for these but you don't have to) and 4 group projects. The group projects could be done in an hour but if your group actually wants to try it takes longer.
Very engaging and understanding prof. You can clearly see how passionate he is about his job during his lectures. Super easy A because Caffey prioritizes what we take away from the class rather than what work we do in it. Lots of group projects that can be time consuming but definitely worth it! I'd take him as a prof again without hesitation!
Doctor Caffey and ENDS can be a really fun class if you let it be. My group kinda sucked which could make the class a pain but that's not his fault. The class itself is a free A and Doctor Caffey is incredibly kind and caring and you can tell he loves teaching the class. The projects were all interesting and usually not stressful. Overall chill guy
Dr. Caffey is a very laid back and interesting person. The main drawback of his class is that your grade is almost entirely determined by four group projects, so read the grading criteria very carefully. You also won't know your grade until the semester ends. If you're having problems, tell him and he'll work them out. Should be an easy A.
Super smart guy. Only critique is that all major grades are group projects and if you get a bad group it sucks. He will stay after class and talk with you and answer questions forever. Cares about his work and is super passionate. I wouldn't say its an easy A, because you do have to do work. But if you want an A you will definitely get one.
One of the best profs you can take for this class. A guaranteed A if you put in the work required for this class. Exams are open-note and collaborative as well. The questions are kind of tricky if you don't do your homework. They can get very specific such as identifying structures and trying to make connections between topics.
Cranky Caffey's class was no fun. The tests were unbearably long. He gives you all weekend, but that time might actually be required. It wasn't unusual to take 8 hours on a test, all while having to research information on your own because the professor "misspoke during lecture." (His quote, not mine)
Professor Caffey is so kind. He always says you will never be penalized for any technical issue. You don't have that many assignments in the class. The one thing I will say is the tests aren't the easiest. There are 30 questions on each, and each question has answer choices A-Z. With that being said, he is very good about giving extra credit.
Only 1-2 assignments between exams which you get weeks to complete, he's super generous with extra credit (you can get at least 10 points added to your semester grade), and the exams take time (about 90 minutes for me working alone), but you can find everything in the lecture videos and textbook. He's really helpful and responsive; nice guy.
If you go to the lectures they are honestly really interesting but you could make it through the course without going to class. There's a lot of group projects so your experience with that can be extremely dependent on your group.
Easy class for creative arts credit. 5 online tests that are open-everything, and it's encouraged to work with other people on them. There are a few assignments, but none of them are too bad and overall it's probably like 5 hours of work (or less) every 3 weeks. The hardest thing is just spending time looking through the material for the tests.
Prof Caffey was a good professor, but the content of ENDS101 simply wasn't my thing. I respect Prof Caffey for being passionate about what he was teaching us, but I will say that the objective of the in-class discussion prompt was unclear and I could have gleaned a lot more from the class if these were clearer. ENDS101 is easy to pass, though.
SUCH an easy A. Literally just do the work and you'll get an A. Every assignment can be resubmitted and regraded at any point in the course if you don't get the grade you want, as well as if you have missing assignments. The class is pretty interesting too. Take this class!!
This class is such a ridiculously easy A. There's group projects, however they're all so easy and the use of excessive artificial intelligence is encouraged. The class is interesting, VERY STRANGE, but it's an easy A. Dr. Caffey was pretty nice and he knows the principles of design. Just do the work (it's not hard) and you'll get an A.
I took ends 101 for the gpa boost and it was such an easy class, didnt show up half of the time and the group projects arent bad if your team just follows the rubric and works together, plus half of the time he will allow you to redo it to receive full credit! Take his class dont know why his rating is so low bc hes a great prof!
One of the easiest classes I have taken. Almost everything is participation and all projects are graded leniently. I always went to class, but attendance isn't mandatory. This class didn't really teach me anything and most of the material was very dull. Caffey is nice and enthusiastic, but most lessons are pointless.
ARCH249 Online is the easiest A for the ICD Credit. Everything is online and open notes. All the assignments are participation points, as long as you don't cheat! The exams take tons of time, but you don't actually need to do the class. Make sure to stay on top of the work; there is a group project, but it's easy and graded based on participation.
Decent amount of work and plenty of extra credit opportunities. I didn't find the material the most interesting which made it harder to write about for assignments, but all the resources are right there for you. Definitely look at the slides and videos in canvas. McGraw Hill is pretty long but doable, and exams take time but are multiple attempts
Thinks extremely creatively, a fun professor to be around and an easy A
