Easy to understand and very helpful yet doesn't go into too much detail in non-major courses because he believes that should be saved for major courses, also a pretty funny guy when he wants to be:)

Steve is a really great teacher! I'm planning on taking his 102 when it's offered!

Good lecturer, even though the talks were somewhat boring. He did make an effort to make the class interesting, and that's why I did well. He's easy to understand and comfortable to talk to. Knows his stuff, and has a sense of humor.

Made lecture fun to go to, which was a plus. Tests are not hard, and half the final is exactly the midterm. He usually gives hints answers on the quizzes (abcde or all b's, etc.).

For me the lectures were impossibly boring. His jokes were so lame too. His tests are pretty easy though. Usually they spell something. If you like men that have mullets and bash their wives then take this class. If you hatelate night classes then don't.

Dr. Steve, you don't have to call him dr., was a really good professor. SOOO much better than Prof. Rissing who also teaches Bio 101. He was sort of boring but he put his lectures, most of them, on WebCT for us. Overall, I really liked his class.

Cool Professor. If you attend class, you can get an A. He is a nice guy and tries to be funny, which he is most of the time. He does NOT have a chip on his shoulder. Fun class

one of the easiest classes i've taken!! his lectures aren't boring, he keeps your attention and makes it interesting by making it simple, explaining everything, and telling jokes and stories. he tells you what to study for the exams, and his tests are super easy. he gives tons of bonus. and puts almost half the notes online... take this class!!!!!!

This guy is the greatest, he wants students to do well so he makes the class easy. As long as you go to the majority of the classes and study a little bit, you're guaranteed an A. SOOO much easier than any other bio teacher!

I usually struggle with science, but this class was so easy. He keeps it basic and is able to relate to his students. I would advise taking Bio 101 with him!

Great Professor if you just want to get biology out of the way. Short, clear lectures and his jokes are pretty funny. His final was awesome b/c most q's had an outrageous answer that makes you laugh, which is a nice help during a bio final. His fu man chu is almost as cool as his mullett too. Oh, and labs are a joke.

Chordas is the best professor I've ever had. He is super cool, and tells jokes all the time. I love to go to his lectures even though they last till late night. The only bad thing about this class is the Lab, which I feel boring and not really helpful. But that again could be the problem of my TA.

If anyone needs to fulfill a science GEC requirement at Ohio State. I highly recommend taking Bio. 101 with Chordas.

Dr. Steve is awesome. He makes the 3 hour long lecture go by so fast --- he's really fun and makes biology interesting, his tests are what 101 level tests should be, definately take his class if possible.

Labs are boring but easy, research assignment is easy and can be done in one night. midterm and final are straight from notes. likes to put "words" in Matching and quizes like, NOBIGDEALK or DECAF...look for those, go to reviews, easy A. great prof!

Good professor for a long night lecture. I hated biology in high school but consider it tolerable now. If you have taken any chem class at osu you will notice that they treat you like babies in the labs. Bio101 is so much easier than chem101.

Great Professor! comes across very clear and does not teach you boring stuff you don't need to know. Would recommend going to class, tells hilarious wife jokes and tells you exactly what you need to know. Do not buy book! you need to only read short pieces and can go the library to do so. Great class, very easy A

Professor Chordas is one of the best I've had! I hate science and he made it a fun class, very funny guy. Doesn't talk down to you, very approachable. Do not take any other proffesor! Class isn't mandatory but there are pop quizzes. Book isn't necessary either. This class should have been an easy A but I got high C due to myself!

Awesome professor. Easy A. 2 exams, which are barely any harder than the quizzes. The quizzes are extremely easy and the answers often follow a pattern, such as a b c d e aaaaa. One project, you get all quarter to do and it's easy and counts for as much as an exam. TAKE THIS CLASS!

Doctor Chordas is by far the best science teacher I have ever had... Maybe one of the best intro instructors I have ever had! He uses real-life examples that are interesting... Information you will actually USE! He's entertaining, smart, and honest. Take this class!!

Unbelievable guy! Just gave 650 kids in my Biology lecture 100% on their midterm exams just for showing up to class. Thats like 20% of our overall grade! He's a legend and if you don't take him your making a mistake!

He is a great guy, his jokes are kind of ridiculous but, still, very fun-loving. The class was really easy because he is very understanding of college students and what to expect from us. There are no outragous assignments, and his lectures are very clear so that you sort of just... remember.

I love it! He makes the class easy and enjoyable, I don't totally dread going to the class. He makes the notes fun and short which def makes it easy to remember. He gives quizzes, so going to lecture is a good idea so you don't miss one, but they are straight forward and directly from the notes. Def take him, he's awesome!!!

One of the easiest classes I have taken so far at Ohio State. He was interesting and made everything clear. He also was pretty funny and made lots of jokes in class. It's hard to get anything below an A in this class as long as you attend lecture.

He is the only reason why I go to BIO. He is what the class needs to make it tolerable. The other professors are a train wreck!!! Only wish he taught a module too. His attendance policy was not strict. You had to attend labs but lectures you did not. He would "take attendance" by having random-ish quizzes.

I hope Dr. Steve checks this so he can see how awesome he is! This guy is what the other Ph.D's at OSU should emulate...class act, treats students FAIRLY, and just a happy go lucky kind of guy!

A gentleman and a scholar. Steve Chordas is the best professor I have ever had the pleasure of studying under. He was extremely thorough and clear, but his best quality is that he puts the students and keeps the class interesting and fair. Attendance shouldn't be an issue in this class because you'll actually look forward to his lecture/story time.

BIO 101 with Steve Chordas was one of the easiest classes I've taken at Ohio State. The one project he assigns is a cake-walk. I got a B- while I had mono and literally slept through 5 quizzes and didn't do a single thing. Unless you come down with an energy-killing disease that wrecks you, expect an A.

Chordas is one of the best professors if not the best I have ever had at osu. Keeps lectures interesting and makes you enjoy bio. I don't like science at all and I liked coming to his class. Easy A and you will actually learn a lot more than you would if he made mad the class difficult. Hes also a very funny guy.

Steve was awesome, if you participate then you will do well. Pop quizzes but you did them with the whole class, so pretty darn easy. He also gave all the assignments the 1st day, so you had plenty of time to do them.

If you need to get your Bio Gen Ed out of the way, take 1102. Steve is my favorite professor this semester. He does a good job making the lectures interesting. He gives out pop quizzes, but they're very straight forward. Exams are not too difficult. Not textbook needed. If you go to lecture, take good notes, and study for exams, you'll do well.

Dr. steve was probably one of my favorite professors at Ohio State. He made things easy to learn and so interested to listen to. He is always very friendly and helpful when asked. If you get a chance to take a class with him, snatch it up!! (hotness rating because of the sick waterfall mullet)

Steve's lectures were to the point and entertaining. He tried to get a class of 200+ as involved as possible. He does not give study guides for exams so you have to learn all material on lecture slides. That being said, he is very clear of what topics are being tested over. Come to lecture because there are pop quizzes. BAD HAIR.

Dr. Chordas is my favorite professor of the semester. He makes his lectures interesting and very entertaining. He's very clear to understand. You need to go to class though, he does pop quizzes, his notes are not online, and we do not go with the book (don't even buy it). I'd definitely take more classes from him.

Dr. Steve's portion of the class was super easy. Show up to class for the pop group work for participation points. My only complaints were that the class had a lot of worksheets and in class group work, which gets tedious. I also wasn't a fan of all his long winded stories, but most people think they're hilarious.

It's been 2 semesters since I've had Stephen Chordas but man was he a great professor! He was very relatable and didn't sound like some stuck up science professors we have around here. His class was a breeze. I barely had used my book.

At the beginning of class, he lets us selected how we want to be graded so that's nice. Coming to class is encouraged because his lecture notes are kind of bare so it's easy to miss important information. You can tell he is passionate about the topics and he cracks jokes often. Dr. Chordas is such a down to earth and humble professor. Everytime you email him, he is so nice and gentle. His lectures are amazing and his exam can be a little confusing but all you need to is to go to his lectures and take good notes. Also, he is so helpful outside of class. I wish I could take all my classes with him.

Bio 3401 is a 2 module class. Dr Chordas taught the first module on vector borne diseases. The content is very interesting despite learning a lot about mosquitoes. Take good notes on the lectures and you will be fine. He does not make questions to trick you and as long as you put in a little effort and complete the assignments you'll get an A.

If Easy A was a person it'll be Stephen Chordas. Let that sink in well

Chordas was definitely the easier of the 2 professors that you get for this course. The lectures did not seem to interest me at first, but I quickly got drawn into them because I believe Dr Chordas has a great way of delivering them. The questions on quizzes and the exam was very clear and there were no trick questions. Watch lectures and get an A.

Class was easy but his exam was closed note and pretty hard. Encouraged students to work together but was an online class.

Super nice and has cool work experiences that he shares in class. The class can be a little unorganized but it doesn't matter because it's super chill. Enjoyed him and the course.

I seriously loved Steve and his class! His lectures were so interesting and made it very easy to learn and digest the material. Exams were pretty straightforward as well, no trickery. I wish I could go back and take this class again!

He is so engaging and genuinely loves teaching students about nasty ticks and mosquitoes. You would think learning about bugs is boring, but he makes it so interesting that you can't help but listen when he is speaking even if you are not fully paying attention. Exam was not bad at all. Just pay attention in lecture and you will be fine.

Chordas is a great lecturer and loops his own experience into each lecture so it makes sense. Attendance isn't mandatory but he doesn't go off of slides or record lectures so if you don't go you could miss things. Very funny and likes to make class fun even though its over boring topics.

Such a chill class. Would recommend taking his class if you don't like science but need the credit. Attendance for lectures is required but the lectures can be very entertaining. Students are also allowed to work together on reading quizzes and there are only 3 quizzes.

Did well in Bio1113, expected this class to be easier. Dr. Chordas himself is a fantastic lecturer and his exams aren't difficult at all, but the lab portion of the class was incredibly tough for some reason. If your TA is not lenient when grading your lab worksheets you are going to be in for a tough time for this class. Be prepped for lab.

His lectures are entertaining specially when he relates lessons to his entomology research. Try on Packback, reading quizzes, and exams and you'll be fine.

Dr. Chordas is a great person and professor. He is very goofy and will not hesitate to crack jokes during lecture and does a great job of keeping his students engaged. Dr. Steve is an amazing professor. He made our 80 minute lectures entertaining with his comedy. The exams are very straightforward and only relies on his lecture notes. The only downside to this class is a lot of points being from lab. If you get a TA who's a tough grader it is difficult to keep an A in the class without doing well on exams.

Certified Yapper, is what I call him, but ties it into the subject well. Material is easy and the exams are easy (read the slides!). Literally did a poll in the beginning so we could choose basically the entire grading criteria. Pretty awesome guy! Attendance not 100% mandatory but you will have to go a decent amount to maintain a good grade.

This man is hilarious!! His lectures are so easy to follow he keeps things fun yet gets straight to the point. He allows you to vote if you want collaborative quizzes and also has you vote on how the exam is set up. Attendance isn't completely necessary in my opinion but I did go to all of his lectures just because he was so easy to follow TAKE HIM

Dr. Chordas is an engaging prof who makes lectures fun. Exams focus on lecture notes, so staying on top of those is key. unstuckstudy was a huge help for study prep.

Very fun and goofy lectures. I admittedly already knew the material from a previous course by coincidence, but I was still interested and engaged regardless. You can really tell he loves what he does and he is a very caring professor.
