Perhaps the best professor I've ever had.

All of his classes are as interesting as the first. In addition to being a great lecturer and awesome advisor, he really cares about his students.

Steve Coccia is the most amazing man teaching at this pathetic school.

Coccia is the man. He's not only funny in class, but he's knowledgable about the stuff he's talking about. You do have to read the book (or at least skim it), and if you do good on all the easy quizzes, you'll pass. Take this guy, you won't be bored.

A great professor with humor. Read the text book because his tests and quizzes are based on it. You will do well if you do. His lectures compliment the book.

VERY interesting professor, kept everyone's attention. Very funny & a cool guy. Read assigned pages, show up for class and you won't have any problems. I HIGHLY recommend Mr. Coccia's class.

Don't be fooled by all these negative reviews...I took Mr. Coccia for Psych 1 & 2 and learned a lot...if you're interested in the subject matter, and keep up with the reading, you will be fine. Yea he's opinionated but more than anything he's a very funny guy and he'll keep you interested in class

Coccia's cool...the text book for the class is a very good one...if you read it and study the 'hi-lighted' words, then the short Quiz' are extemelly easy....Read the TEXT and the mult choice tests are cake....lectures are not bad, he spends alot of time talking about folk music...YAWN

Developmental Psych. is harder than his Psych. II class (a lot of reading). However, he's still just as fair and helpful as ever, not to mention fun, as in all of his other classes. A great teacher all around. Would recommend to anyone.

Amaxing teacher, with a heart of gold. Do the reading and everything kinda flows. Don't be afraid of asking questions. His attendence oplicy is weird but you get used to it.

He talks and talks... very funny and entertaining. A bit arrogant but bearable. He lectures and his tests have nothing to do with eachother. he tests from ONLY the book.

Most Awsome teacher. So nice, fun, very down to earth. Very upfront and honest about grades. Some reading requierd, but not too bad. if you have to take psych. TAKE HIM.

I love his mind. He makes people think. Helping his students to succeed seems to be a top priority for him. For those in the know of what makes a man a real man, this is one. He gets three chilli peppers.

A completely and only describable as a great professor. He is filled with great knowledge about his field, makes his class interesting, and knows how this area of study applies to daily life. He is the ideal professor to have in college, despite sleep deprivation to get to his class, I look forward to it every tuesday. Thank you.

I really enjoy this class. Although I find the quizes rather difficult. They are given straight from the text and told about the week before.The quiz has to do with things that u had to read and were not taught yet. You are taught the material from the quiz after you take the quiz.Quizes aside, Coccia is one of the best teachers at OCCC.

I have Coccia for two classes this semester, and he is by far the greatest! I hope I can find more classes to take with him. He is very energetic and passionate about everything he talks about. Quizzes are easy and quick. Getting and "A" in his class is easily obtainable.

I have had him twice now. There are a few things to know that will get you through the class. He gives weekly quizzes verbatim from the text. Quizzes are hard at first but get easier once you know what he wants. He tells you EXACTLY what is on the test, make flash cards you'll get a 80 on them (I never read a chapter). Do the extra credit (It h

helps SO much) and you've got an A in the class. BOTTOM LINE: Coccia loves himself, and is long-winded about it. He is not big on hearing you talk. He is charming and sexy but "old man" sexy.

He is my favorite teacher ever!!! He is extremeely interesting and teaches you information that u will use throughout your life even if its not on his tests!! I loved going to his class everyday! he wants his students to do well!!! and it shows!!!

Overall he is a pretty decent teacher. He covers the topics that need to be covered. His class is not for the faint of heart, however. He talks about sex and makes immature and offensive jokes during every class period. Just be forewarned.

Just read the book you will pass very easy going and funny read the book do extra credit you will pass simple

Coccia is super laid back. I took his Hybrid class and really enjoyed it. He is knowledgable, helpful and hot. Great teacher.

I took a hybrid class with him, and as someone else also mentioned don't expect to take in a lot from this class. It's easy, and his lectures are etertaining enough... but he goes on and on about trivial things, and we never even touched the last two chapters that we were suppose to. Easy grade, but I would have liked to learn more...

steve is reall a great professor. everyone's right when they say the only reason you would fail his class is because of yourself. don't blame the professor for your short comings. take responsibility, he does when he's wrong. would definitely take him for another psych class.

Ok, Coccia is a great Professor. Is it true that he's a little preachy? Yeah but he just has strong beliefs and good for him! He may have been teaching for 30 somewhat years but he's still kicking. Who ever posted a degrading comment is just miss attributing their probable bad grade to Coccia and not the fact that they didn't study.

I don't know what everyone is saying about how he doesn't teach psychology! WHAT ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT??? He does teach from the book and brings outside sources. He tries everything possible to help sure you succeed.He gives tons of extra credit! He truly wants you all to get an A!! If you don't then YOUR really stupid! VERY easy course!

Why do some people consider him a horrible instructor? Just because someone doesn't teach/or lecture in the manner in which you like, does not make them a bad instructor. I've had him and his teaching style was perfect for the way I absorb information. There are constructive ways to disagree with the lecture/discussion. Lets act like adults here.

If you fail his class. than you are not ready for college at all. There is no reason for anyone to fail his class. I hate how everyone is syaing that "he doesn't prepare you for the test" umm what professor does? This is college, it's your responsiblity to study on your own. Hands down the best professor I have ever had. He truly cares about his students and is nothing short of inspirational. I am so lucky to have signed up for his class for he changed my entire outlook on life aka treat others how you would like to be treated...negativity isn't worth it.

Awesome! and easy! have him now fer devel. PSY and the quizzes are easy if you read the pages he gives (no more than 10) and for the test he gives a list of terms to know. he also gives extra credit. i reccomend him!

Read the book, do the extra credit, and show up. Lectures are NEVER boring, and if you pay attention you will pass the test. If you study you can get an A. Awesome professor/ awesome person.

I have nothing negative to say about Prof. Coccia! The lectures are so entertaining and interesting; an hour and fifteen minutes goes by in a flash. If you study, you'll do fine! Prof. Coccia is just a good guy overall. And he's HILARIOUS. BTW turn your phone off before class -- It's not worth 5 points off your next exam if it goes off!

If you love multiple choice tests, hes your man. He is funny and has many important lessons to teach his students(don't hit your kids, don't text and drive) and is pretty funny. READ the textbook. Quizzes almost every week but they only help you to get a better grade.

His online class is not an easy A. Very work intensive. The professor was very helpful when you needed it. I have heard his traditional class is much easier.

Nice guy, kind of funny too. Class wasn't anything special, learned quite bit, but not as much as I was hoping.

Good teacher, he's always there to help if needed. He's a funny guy and his lectures are fairly enjoyable. Although he does tend to tell a lot of stories, so the textbook is your best friend. You need to teach yourself most of the information.

Quizzes every week help boost your grade. I learned a lot from this class. I highly recommend taking a class with him.

Good professor, assigns A LOT of essays and is super strict with grammar. It has to be perfect or he takes off a lot of points if your comma is not need in a sentence. Expects only greatness from everyone.

He's a great professor and I thoroughly enjoyed his class. He's very relatable, approachable, and hilarious. He likes to get everyone engaged and is a no nonsense kinda guy. You'll have a good time with him, and you'll learn a lot! He tells a lot of interesting stories too, all, in a way, related to the class, but fun to hear nonetheless.

Mr. Coccia is a great professor! I learned so much in his class that I have already applied to life and that I know I will use in the future! I took his class in the summer, online, and I was overwhelmed at first because of how accelerated it is but as long as you write everything down it is easy to stay on top of everything.

Took his during summer session, and be forewarned, it is a lot of work, especially when crammed into 6 weeks. Very fair grader and gave lots of opportunities for extra credit. If you do the work and follow his exact guidelines, you will get an A. Quizzes and tests are straight from the textbook.

I was nervous taking his class bc I saw all of the bad reviews, but honestly, professor Coccia's class was one of the best classes that I have taken. He gives a lot of work, but he communicates well with the class & makes it clear when things are due & what is expected. I HIGHLY recommend you take his class. If you put in the effort, its an easy A.

I liked this course. The textbook was a lot and you had to read it since the tests are all based on it. Theyre timed which was pretty difficult and the essays were super easy and he graded everything on time and fairly. Hes give you feedback on the papers which helped a lot.

Very clear, concise and to the point in everything he does. Makes the entire class easy to understand and his discussion boards cover topics that are interesting, not just the generic textbook learning ideals. Definitely a professor I'd be happy to have again.

Overall a good professor, make sure to do all extra credit assignments and READ the grading criteria carefully or your grade will suffer. Make sure all work is on time, does not except late work or give second chances on assignments.

Be prepared to do weekly discussion boards- 2 response posts, weekly quizzes, exams & papers. Discussion boards were really interesting. Pay attention to his instructions when completing assignments because he will take points off. You have to be organized and stay on top of deadlines because he will NOT allow you to take a make-up. .
