He's a cool guy, easy grader, don't really have to be there only when it's your day to give a speech.

He's a pretty laid back guy, his jokes aren't that funny, but he's really easy. He's a lot easier then any of the other speech teachers.

This guy is cool. He gives an outline for every speech you have and is pretty entertaining too. Girls I would take him, he totally favors us!

Terrible jokes, nice guy, easy enough class. He definitely flirts with the girls. He will rip on your persuasive speech if he doesn't agree with you. Fun class!

Well, he makes lame jokes, puts his finget in his mouth a lot and is a ****.... other than that his class is easy. just show up with you speech ready. The worst you will get is a C.

Very cool guy. Easy, just make you sure you practice your speech at home before you come to class. If you don't he can tell and you'll get a bad grade. Something like 6 speeches: story, informative, problem/solution, 2 impromptus, and persuasion

Doyle is a nut case!I will never forget this guy!He is full of information and stories galore.I would definatley do it over again. Theres barely any work, just dont procrastinate with speeches as we all do.

Doyle is a bad ass, he tells you exactly what he wants and thats the way you do it, just make sure you bib is right, other than that awesome techer talk to him he's funney****

EASY!!!!If you can handle his jokes and random conversations, take him you'll learn something.

Best teacher Ive ever had. He knows his jokes are lame and thats why he's hilarious. Ive learned a lot from him this year and everyone should take his class

Man, this guy is a riot. Has a passion for rhetoric, and it shows in his class. It's easy, straight-forward, and helpful. Would definitely reccomend him as the man to take. None better for speech.

This guy is awsome. The speeches arn't hard. He doesn't expect a lot from you. If your not good at speeking if front of people take him he is cool about it. Classes are small and its a laid back class.

If you are a terrible public speaker I recomend this guy for sure. He'll tell you what you need to know, but putting up with his lame jokes and stories can get old (its still worth it!). Ladies he will no doubt give you an A (espcially if your cute and willing to talk to him in class). Guys dont worry he's still an easy teacher!!!

Doyle is a total badass; if you need to take a Speech class, there's no better professor. Very reasonable and understanding of those who are afraid of public speaking. Class is always fun; he's a total clown, and his jokes are lame, but he knows it and that's why he rocks. Put forth the effort and you WILL pass; you don't have to be a good speaker.

cool teacher, take him!! He's funny and lectures are interesting. He's willing to help and as long as he can see that you're trying, he will give you a good grade. Just show up to class, pay attention, and try hard. i think there were 5 speeches to do total. I got a C on 2 of them but still got an A. take it!

Very cheesy and random. Always has some off-beat comment, but an easy class. Doesn't expect much. If you hate speaking infront of people, like me, just stick w/it. You'll get through it.

Really easy class. The class goes by really fast too..only like 5 speeches, but they are all short.Just pretend hes funny and laugh at his jokes and you will be on his good side.Hes kind of hard with grading, but its a good class. Hes so knowledgeable, like a walking encycopedia. I recomened taking him.

he is a good guy and has a passion for the subject he is teaching but i have found he doesnt like giving A's. I have done everything i can to make my speeches really good and there is nothing else i can do. he tells me a did a really good job then gives me a B (which isn't bad but why not an A?)

Good teacher but lame jokes sometimes. Just use good eye contact and speak clearly and an A is very reachable. Speaking sucks but this class made it a little easier.

Really good teacher.Not the traditonal kind that makes you write out a bunch of drafts.Very reasonable speech assignments and he makes the class atmosphere very welcoming and enjoyable.I've never liked speaking in public but he made it easier.I would definetly recommend him!!Easy to talk to.

I put of taking a speech class for years and although it was still difficult, he made it as painless as possible. As long as you put in the effort, it is an easy "A" and his requirements for speeches are fairly easy. There are also plenty of extra credit assignments.

This guy had me in tears I laughed so hard some times. Can be pompus at times but a pretty cool guy really laid back and funny. You don't need a book and he grades easy so if you don't speak well infront of people this is a class for you all he cares about is you tried.

Mr. Doyle was awesome. His class was very easy and he was very nice, just be nice, do the speeches, and show up when you can.. this class changed my life, literally.. I dont have a fear of public speaking anymore. He makes you feel comfortable, and still makes the class fun.

Great teacher! Grades fairly, if you orginize your speeches well and practice your speeches you will do good. He is interesting to listen to. The book he requires is small and inexpesive.

doyle is funny. he makes class interesting. i like his speeches. his lectures are kinda boring though. he doesnt make class mandatory when other people give speeches. he seems really helpful. i am enjoying this class, when i dreaded to take it. take him for sure

Prof. Doyle is awesome! Great taste in music, and always down to help students he knows want to succeed. Highly recommend for those fearful of speaking. He's halarious and his jokes are only for the intelligent.

Greatest teacher EVER! i had taken two previous speech classes and dropped them both cause i couldnt public speak for the life of me. I took him and I have never felt so comfortable in speaking in front of everyone! B/c of him i changed my major to speech communications. Greatest/Funniest teacher EVER

I hate public speaking, like I pretty much put this class off for two years because I hate it that much. This guy changed my views on public speaking. I can say that I am so much more confident now when I speak! I loved this class and Doyle was an amzing instructor! You're a fool if you don't take him!

Doyle is seriously one of the funniest guys ever. He makes you feel really comfortable, if you are a first-time speaker. This is definitely the class for you if you feel nervous about speaking in front of people. His class is fun, and he won't take roll if speeches aren't being given that day. You should definitely take speech with Doyle!

talks alot, speeches are fun and you typically get to pick all the topics. this class is very fun and interesting if you open yourself up to it and get over a fear of public speaking. he has plenty of stories to keep you paying attention.

This class was a lot of fun. Doyle is really funny and knowledgeable. He grades kind of tough, but there's two opportunities for extra credit that would raise the grade up one letter grade each. So, even if you earn a C on all your speeches, you can get an A by doing extra credit.

I got an A in this class. It wasn't that hard. Just follow his guidelines. Didn't like the class though. Doyle repeats jokes that were not funny or appropriate the first time. He made unprofessional comments to some of us girls and made me feel uncomfortable, though not when giving a speech. If you don't mind the comments, it's an okay class.

I thought he was really funny and entertaining. He did grade kind of tough.. I got a Bt on all of the speeches except one and will do the extra credit so I'll get an A. He is a good teacher and you will enjoy his class.

Great teacher, but not an easy A he will make you work for it, and challange you to become a great speech writter...So if you want to persue speech take his class he's a really nice guy and makes it fun...but if you want an easy A there are other teachers

Stephen Doyle is awesome! Forget what everyone said below. Yeah he may say some innapropriate jokes but if you actually listen to what he says, youll do great. All you need to do in order to get an A is have your eyes up 50% of the time, and have a clear, strong voice. I recommend professor Doyle to everyone. Last, he's funny and I never got bored.

Wonderful teacher. He is so smart and has tons of knowledge of random things. Its a fun class and makes you just plain old happy.

Very funny. Do not take him if you are easily offended, he will make jokes at your expense. YOU HAVE TO DO INTENSE OUTLINES FOR EACH SPEECH TO GET A GOOD GRADE: but as long you do it, your done and you will do great. He is a very easy grader, too.

Funny teacher! Always has witty, smart-alec remarks. Makes the class fun and entertaining! Just show up and speak, youll be sure to at least get an A. No textbook. No homework other than speeches which are laid out at beginning of class. Would recommend!

The key to getting an A in this class is making a proper outline. As long as you do that and keep your eyes up during your speech, you'll do just fine. He's very funny, but some people may get offended. He makes his requirements very obvious as well. There are ZERO written tests; all you do is write speeches, follow his format, and you're good.

This guy is entertaining, plain and simple. He is one of the coolest teachers I've ever had. As long you you put in more than a day or two with your speech, you could easily achieve an A in the class. He does comment on your mistakes immediately after the speech, which is somewhat awkward, but other than that, he's an awesome professor.

Awesome guy, always making funny jokes. really helpful with how to write speeches. whole class is out of 100 pts with each speech being worth different amounts. achieve the time limit of the speech and you will most likely get an A.

Makes me uncomfortable with his jokes. Gets a bit too comfortable with himself and says inappropriate things to some of the girls in the class. Do your outline nicely and keep your eyes up and you should do fine in the class.

Doyle is thouroughly entertaining, in spite of my poor performance i looked forward to the class daily simply because he is such a talented orator. You don't do a lot of speaking, but i'm willing to say that he has higher expectations for his students than the other speech teachers. Definitely not an easy A, but definitely worth taking.

Fun class! If you can talk in front of 30 people with ease then your set! If you don't memorize the speech almost completely, looking down only to find your place and not to read from it then you won't get an A on the speech. Hey, a B works for me!

I love Doyle! At the beginning of the semester I was terrible at speech, I was so nervous and ended up going 1000 mph. But Doyle helped me get over my nerves by making the class less nerve wracking and more fun. Would for sure recommend!

He was a great teacher. He really challenged his students to put their best effort forth. As the class progressed you could see the improvement in everyone's speaking.

Good teacher. Interesting guy. Quite a characer. Very knowledgeable. Class is usually interesting. Guidelines are very straight forward. He is a difficult grader but gives you ever opportunity to succeed. I would recommend him but it is by no means an easy class. I learned a lot.

Understands public speaking can be more difficult for others and grades on personal improvement, but does have specific guidelines and expectations. Class is usually interesting, always spouting off random facts/stories for fun inbetween speeches. take this class!

Attendance is only mandatory on days when speeches are given. Otherwise lecture days he doesnt care. He is a very funny teacher always cracking random jokes. He knows a lot about random facts in the world. He will mainly call on the girls in the class which is fine with me since I am female.

Just do all your speeches and show up and you will at least get a C in the class. I barely spent anytime on my speeches and i got a B. Be on his good side, and that will help your grade.

Very good teacher. Effectively communicates ways to improve speech organization and delivery, and helped to learn a lot about presentation. Can and does go off topic a lot, but he covers everything necessary in the time given. Very funny, concise, and above all, informative. Would highly recommend taking a class from this fantastic teacher.

Do all the speeches... if you actually practice them you should get an A, he offers so much extra credit that if you do it all, i cant see a way of getting lower than a B... Dont be shy and he will like you, he talks about his cat alot. HEAD MY WARNING format will kill your grade, follow his instructions... pretty simple.

As a teacher, he's very intelligent and starts out the class with fun facts. He's clear on what he wants.That being said, his sense of humor is very immature to the point where I couldn't even give him the pity laugh. He's very repetitive with his advice on your speeches. Besides the first few minutes of class, I can't stand it.

Before taking this class I absolutely hated talking in front of people. Almost to the point of tears. After taking his COMM 01 class, I have a lot more confidence in myself. He is very fun and funny professor. The mood he sets for the class helps make it easier to get up there and talk. Do all the speeches, come to class, and laugh at his jokes.

Absolutely great teacher. I was dreading speech class but he made it a blast. He starts the day off with fun facts and he loves to tell jokes. Though he might repeat himself, who cares?! Coming from someone who did not want to ever take a speech class, this was a great class. follow the formats of the speeches and it is an easy class. show up, do the speeches and you are gold.

The only way to get a good grade is to practically memorize your speech and keep your face up the whole time. Follow EXACTLY his examples he passes out. He took off points because I put an "a" instead of "A" in my outlines. He is very kind if you're shy. He is very knowledgeable so don't make up your speech.

Prof. Doyle is a great intructor. This class is mostly writing speeches and presenting them. Easy A. Their is no textbook for this class, just know MLA and how to use it and your fine. The speeches are on topics of your choice and once you present one the nervousness goes away. Prof. Doyle is really good at giving feedback and he barley lectures.

This was for speech, but he is definitely a great professor. Very funny and likes to make the whole class laugh. Corny jokes sometimes but extremely fun to have for class. He is very specific with what he looks for when grading, but lenient. Great professor.

Very Knowledgeable. Great professor. Do a good research, follow his pointers and you'll be okay. No quizzes and textbook. Likes to make the whole class laugh. Speech is intimidating but he will guide you. I highly recommend his class.

Great class. Funny guy who makes a lot of puns if youre into that. Best advice is to look up from your outline as much as possible and make eye contact. Do that and youll do great. Just dont miss more than 3 classes or youll drop letter grade.

While I hate giving speeches, I loved this class. Doyle is a great teacher, and he knows what he's doing. There were several days I stayed after class to bounce ideas off of him, and he was more than willing to talk and help. He does have certain criteria he looks for in grading speeches, but it just takes a little effort. Loved him and the class!

Doyle is by far the best professor I've had yet. He cracks jokes all the time and makes coming to class fun. I don't dread his class like i do with others. He's got a great personality and knows what he's talking about when it comes to public speaking. He makes so many students feel comfortable in his class. I highly, highly recommend taking him.

I loved Doyle he gives a decent amount of speeches and it is tough to get an A but its achievable. He was pretty funny and nice, show confidence get to know him and he'll work with you, don't be afraid to talk to him he probably has something in common. Good class got me to be a better speaker!

Easily the best class I've taken at Moorpark. No one generally likes public speaking but Doyle made it bearable and fun. It was kind of weird though because he would say my name, and a few other students names, at least 5 times a class, at random times but no one knew why. I got a B on almost every speech but ended with an A overall.

Arguably one of the best professors I had in my 3 years at Moorpark. He understands that you aren't a professional speaker, so he's lenient when you speak. For our impromptu, he had us write 2-3 topics on a paper, but instead of drawing from a hat, he told us we'll be using the ones we wrote. Practice and time yourself and you'll do well.
