Very helpful and explains things very well.
He is a really cool professor, he takes time to explain things throughly and help you as much as he can. Taking my math and my stat courses with him was one of the best things I could've done!
Make sure you do your homework in this class and in stats. He is a good teacher that is very willing to help you by explaining things or going over extra problems, etc. I wish he taught more classes.

He's a jerk! He doesn't explain anything well. His test questions are different from the work he "teaches" during class. He's arrogant and thinks that he knows everything. I do not recommend him to anyone that wants a teacher to help explain th
Mrs.Drier He was very helpful, he explained things in great detail.
Hes alright
Drier is great! He is very willing to help you get it. I won't take my next math until he is teaching the one I need.
Great professor. He's extremely helpful and gives excellent notes. If you have those notes memorized inside and out and do all the hw problems (which arn't that many compared to other math classes) you'll do good.
He goes way too fast and doesn't teach us the SMALL steps because we are "supposed to know them already"
Teaches, makes sure you understand then tests you on what you have learned. What every math teacher should be.
He's an amazing teacher and as long as you do the homework you'll be fine. He's very helpful and will answer any questions that you have. He also tutors all of his students and if you want a big help section during office hours all you have to do is go to him. You'll learn a lot.
Has a blast in class-FUNNY, but make sure you ask about the test questions because he steps it up a few notches on test day!!!
awesome teacher
He is very arrogant! As long as you can memorize and teach yourself from the book you'll be okay. He knows the material, but I do not believe he can teach others the work!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM!!!
He will do anything he can to help. Go to class and do the homework and you will have no problem. Very funny.
Yes you are already supposed to know a lot of the stuff he teaches. This is college, not grade school. He is a difficult teacher no doubt and his tests are hard as hell. However, if you work hard, you should do fine. Good teacher and keeps the class fun.
Mr. Drier was an excellant teacher! He took his time and made sure everyone understood before he went on. He even re-taught the stuff we should have already known. He is a great teacher!
Grades his tests very hard, but is funny and is a good teacher...relates math to the real world with a story before every problem
Mr. Drier is very funny, understanding, and helpful. He explains problems in their simpliest form, he doesn't teach you a thousand ways, that will confuse you. Anything, you don't understand, he will work with you until you get it. He's a teacher that believes in you and knows what he's doing. Mr. Drier is an awesome teacher, despite what people say
Great teacher, likes to call on people a lot though. Tells a lot of stories that relate to the lessons. Tests are pretty serious though, so take good notes and study.
He is extremely difficult. If math isnt your subject i wouldnt recommend him. He is not a great teacher! If you can, i would take another one. He grades very difficult and its almost like he wants to see the students mess up on problems
best math teacher i've ever had. great teacher explains all the work, makes everything very easy to understand, and tells real life situation storys that will make you actually care about math. i loved his teaching style, the class goes by so fast, definately not boring.
Awesome teacher. He gives you the questions on the tests and the tests are exactly like the notes he gives. The first two tests are hard but after they are a breeze. One thing...DO YOUR HOMEWORK.. everyone could always use extra practice before the big test.
One of the best math teachers ever. He make statistics fun. Go to class. He tells you eveything you need to know for the tests. Great with individual help before and after class.
I had to drop the professor’s class but I will diffidently take him again!!! He is very nice and will do whatever he can to help you! Take him....He is so funny that you don't realize you have been in his class for 3 hours!!
very awsome teacher, funny, teaches very good dont have to do so much home work bc you get the material in class
LOVE THIS MAN THE ONLY MATH CLASS YOU WILL EVER WANT TO GO TO, COURSE IS HARD BUT HE TEACHES VERY WELL DON'T HAVE TO DO SO MUCH HOME WORK BC YOU'LL GET IT IN CLASS- VERY FUNNY JOKES YOU WONT STOP LAUGHING!
he is the best professor i have ever had, he makes me want to go to math class, he keeps me interested in the class and he explains it in a way that just clicks in my head, he is f-ing awesome!!! and he is totally hot!!!
Drier is a very fun professor. He did make class enjoyable to go to and almost made statistics interesting...almost. Not recommended as a night class; the connection between his funny stories and the material are easily forgotten after a week. Difficult subject matter, lots to study. I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one who thought he was hot.
Very nice man, however it is a 50 min. class and 45 min. is a story (Usually personal) the last 5 minutes is an example problem from the story. Not much teaching but very entertaining. You have to do the work on your own. Good Luck
I loved Drier's class. I'm terrible at math but he made it fun and interesting. I actually understood his teaching. He is also hilarious which keeps the class interesting. He's very upfront. It's a hard class but he's a great teacher.
Great professor. Had him for Coll Alg, Stats and Trig. He'll challenge you and you have to do the homework but very helpful. Doesnt take attendance. If you're good at math its a breeze. Will prepare you for higher level maths. very very funny! gets to know his students. WH campus only
Great professor. Had him for Coll Alg, Stats and Trig. He'll challenge you and you have to do the homework but very helpful. Doesnt take attendance. If you're good at math its a breeze. Will prepare you for higher level maths. very very funny! gets to know his students. WH campus only
Likes to make his tests hard and does not care if his students pass or not he still gets paid is his attitude!
He does not care if you pass or fail, thinks everything is a joke, tells a story for about 20 min and does 1 problem related to the story for 5 min , does not do homework problems in class if you don't ask him, the less problems or explaining he needs to do the better .Very amusing class though but as far as teaching he is lazy.
He clearly enjoys teaching the course. The stories make the class more interesting. I would recommend him to anyone who has to take this class. Great person, personable and outgoing. Fun class.
Great and energetic Prof. He makes students feel comfortable to ask question. He does his job very well
I took Drier for inter. Algebra and he was amazing. He explains everything for you no question is a dumb question. But you do have to study to pass... but should have no problems if you pay attention.
entertaining teacher definitely recommend
Very nice, really funny, but class skips chapters 2 in explaining, which makes understanding harder!
VERY GOOD TEACHER. His tests are very hard but if you actually study and put your mind to it you will learn it and actually remember the material. I have taken him from int. algebra all the way to stats.
Don't take him unless you're a math person or want to make math your life. His review sheets aren't like his tests. He only goes over a couple of simple examples in class. His only grades are on his tests. Almost half my class withdrew. He DOES make his class interesting though.
He's very entertaining. I took him for Inter. and College Alg. and had to work my tail off to get a C, but I'm not a math person. His examples in class cover the mere basics, so if you're confused, go to the TLCC. Also, if you do very well on his review sheets, you'll be fine, but if you find that you don't remember some things, you're in trouble.
At first didn't like his method of teaching.Once you get his style of few exp;work problems on your own;read book; pay att. when he puts problems on board it gets easier. I would probably take again.
Nice guy but tells too many stories doesnt teach more than a few minutes-his test are killers and I am an A student. Not an easy A-infact I dont think anyone in his class has every gotten an A. Alot people dropped after first two test. Read other comments - 100% true.He has an ego issue when trying to prove whats on his test vs. his study guide.
I liked him a great deal as a person but if he had done more teaching and less chit-chatting I think I would have liked him better as a math teacher. I really could have used the exra time spent teaching!
Drier is a great teacher I absolutely love him but his test are really really hard. If you keep up with the homework and go to him for help you'll do great. But its deff a class you cant slack in.
Super hard subject for me...or maybe the way he taught it. He is very helpful and wants everyone to understand and learn. You have to do the homework to get practice, but the textbook explains things differently then he does in his lectures. he is brutally honest about his tests, and tells you what the questions will be, kind of.
I loved this professor.
Excellent teacher. If you want to learn and know a Math subject, take him. He is always more than willing to help, funny, and knows his stuff well. But, it is a pretty tough class. It isn't a class that's impossible, but you better stay on top of the work. I would definitly recommend him.
I loved his classses!Intermediate Algebra would have been a pain without him! He made it so much easier! He inspires everyone to engage in class! He is the best :)
He's really cool and makes his classes fun and interesting. However, tests are noticeably harder than the problems you will do in the book for homework.
No homework, no quizzes, only 6 Tests you have to pass. Your grade will depend from 5 of the scores, in which 1 of the tests will be worth 25% of your grade.
Caution! Grade is based solely on test scores with 1 dropped. Also his tests are considerably harder than the classroom examples or the homework. Professor Drier has a great teaching style and he cares if you understand what he's teaching. If he graded on more than tests (perhaps on-line quizzes, homework, etc..)I believe I could have had success.
I don't recomend him at all. he is very tough on test. no extra credit. no partial credit. do not take him.
He is willing to work with you outside of class. His study guides are beneficial. He only grades on test and his test are very difficult. Although, if you are a able to pass his test you will defiently be able to pass the final.
He used to teach at USF so he's a legit professor. That means study and take notes on everything! Do uncollected hw problems if you expect to do good on tests. He only gives 5 tests and then a final and drops the lowest grade. Be good at memorizing, at one point you will have to know 7 equations in your head, only to use 4. Got a B and good at math
I would not recommend you to take him. All he does is joke around in class. EXTREMELY hard and I am a straight A student his test are horrible!! He doesn't respond to emails. Also doesn't give ANY partial credit just marks it wrong cost you 6pts for the simplest thing. Never in office when supposed to be, doesn't return ANYTHING ON TIME!!DON'T TAKE
Very fun class!!! Test are hard, but if you do the work you will be fine. He is very honest about what to expect. Always willing to help outside of class.
HE WAS VERY HARD AND COMPLETELY USELESS!!!DO NOT TAKE HIM IF YOU EXPECT TO GET A GOOD GRADE AND KEEP YOUR GPA HIGH.I'M A STRAIGHT A STUDENT AND I RECEIVED a D IN HIS CLASS.
I found his class interesting. He uses stories to relate the problems to real life which makes it easier to understand the material. Only grades on test with no partial credit. But if you get the problems correct, he does not make you show work.
Awesome class and professor! Highly recommend him.
Great with explaining, the book isn't required, but it is helpful. Not an 'easy A' class, but definately worth-while and useful.
I LOVED THIS CLASS. One of the best professors I have ever had. He makes learning fun with stories and examples. If you practice outside of class and follow the student guides you'll do well.
Had Mr. Drier last term and he's simply awesome!!! He actually cares about his students and wants to see them achieve their goals. Even if your not in his class, he is always willing to help you. Just remember to study and you will be fine in his classes.
Very nice guy, however, I found it difficult to do well in this class and I dropped it. He doesn't use the book much in teaching but says doing the homework is necessary to pass his class, it was hard for me because in the book there were formulas, etc that he didn't do the same way in class and it would trip me up at home.
Professor Drier's class is incredibly fun. He teaches clearly and best of all, will help out a student after class, with one of his 1000 ways to contact him. Doing homework doesn't count for a grade, but will definitely help for his tests.
DO NOT TAKE STEVEN DRIER!!! I am an A student and his tests are some of the most difficult things I have ever encountered. Hes an awesome guy, but his tests are NOTHING like his lectures. I spent hours studying and still bombed his test. I WOULD NOT recommend him!!!!
Mostly a teach yourself class. I'll give him credit for keeping the class entertained during class time, but when it comes time to take the test it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with what he went over. Memorize the textbook is all I can say.
If you aren't good at math, don't take him. He's a funny guy and class wasn't terribly boring, but the tests are difficult compared to the homework. You'll have to actually UNDERSTAND the concepts, not memorize them. I learned a bit and plan on taking him again. I got a 98 in his class without doing any of his homework. UNDERSTAND CONCEPTS.
Drier is a hard teacher. He teaches on his lectures and doesn't go by the book at all. If you are in class every day, take notes and study you should pass this class. His tests are very challenging and you will completely fail if you don't practice, but his teaching style is nice and slow and he'll answer any questions.
Crystal clear lectures combined with hilarious jokes makes Professor Drier one of the best Math Profs out there. His class itself isn't that hard, as long as you pay attention, it's an easy A.
Mr. Drier is a great teacher. Kids who say his class is hard and complain about how his tests are so different from the lecture and homework are wrong. Like a REAL teacher he makes you learn concepts, not just memorization. Which, when you are learning something, that is what you do. Funny personable guy whose stories always tie into the lesson.
Drier is an excellent professor recommended to anyone who is seeking any knowledge involving mathematics. I can say his class presented some difficulties. His test are not the same as his lectures or material found In the book. Some can say this is bad, while I argue it is good because you are challenged to actually learn the concept.
He has a great personality and keeps the class energetic. I highly recommend him. His tests aren't too hard and he is always willing to help.
Mr. Drier is the best math teacher that I've ever had. Because of him I actually wanted to go to class and learn. He has a great personality and awesome stories that relate to what he's teaching. He teaches with great clarity, never lets anyone fall behind, and his tests are what you learn in class. He's the best math teacher ever!
He does not teach well. The only thing he does is talk about how much money he saves.
Best professor ever!!! I learned so much because of him. His stories really helped me learn the material.
Awesome teacher. The only math course I passed and that's because he only uses the test grades. I missed two tests and still passed. Super easy.
He's a very understanding teacher, and he knows the material well and how to teach it. You do have to work for your grade, but he's there to help you if you need it.
He is a great teacher, really knows his content and he is very willing to help you understand the content. The class takes a lot of memorization and studying so if that's not you don't take the class. He tells awesome stories to go along with his lectures that help you understand the content as he is teaching it. I would definitely take him again.
If you go to class, do the homework, and ask questions via lecture, email, etc means you will pass this class. If you just go to class, and show up for the test--not so much
Awesome professor! No extra credit. Only tests count for your grade. He tells stories, so if you don't like anything but straight material avoid him. But the stories ALWAYS tie in, and help you remember it. He knows his material backwards and forwards, and will help if you ask to meet with him. I'd recommend him to anyone.
I had him for statistics. I did not like Drier at all. He was very sarcastic and smug. He doesn't make you feel like you can come to him for help and if you do, you can expect a sarcastic response. His tests are nothing like the notes and he spends so much time telling stories, you will have done 1 problem by the time class ends.
If you do not show up to class and ask questions you will not pass. Is not a lot to ask. He is extremely helpful and will spend hours going over material with you until you understand it. He wants you to understand the concepts not just memorize something for a test. I passed this class because he is patient and wants you to learn
prof Drier is one of the best math teachers i have ever had. he defiantly cares about his job. he tells goofy stories but they always relate back to what we are discussing in class. i wish i was able to take him for all of my math classes. test are only hard if you dont take the time to study.
Drier, is by far the funniest professor yet. He's very helpful and has tutoring for students but this class was hard. His notes are easy but when you get the test, it's nothing like the notes we did. If you're good at math then take him but if not then don't take him! I did not pass which sucks because I'm a honors student. But he's cool!
Prof. Drier was first of all hilarious! The dude tells some good stories (which helps you focus better). Statistics is a easy math class in general but if you don't study or show up to class you will fail horribly. The notes you take in class will be on the test! You have 5 tests and a final. The final is 25% of your grade. He will drop the lowest.
Good Professor for those who understand algebra... but goes way too fast for those who are bad at math..
Do yourself a favor and avoid this professor for precalc. Although he is a nice guy and hilarious, that won't help you pass. He teaches a little too fast and if you zone out for a second you'll be lost. Tests are hard and he gives no partial credit on them.
He does a lot of talking that isn't necessarily helpful. His explanations to problems are more confusing than helpful. It seems like he is trying to be more of a comedian than a teacher. I would never take him again.
Very nice and funny guy but I had a very difficult time in his class. I would understand the lectures but when I got the test I would know absolutely nothing. As I said, super nice guy but I will not be taking him again.
Hes funny dont get me wrong, but as a student who struggled in math to begin with funny wont help you pass. Even with tutoring I was still failing. Hes a good teacher, but his teaching style isnt helpful for everyone. Always go to class or else youll miss a whole unit of notes. If your good at math go for it, if not look for another professor.
Do not take this class with Drier! We do 5 problems a class and the rest of the time he talks about nothing and the tests are nothing like what he goes over in class. I will not be taking him again.
This class is not for people who do not understand math. I never felt comfortable before a test, and that always created a lot of stress. Drier is a super good guy, plus his lectures are absolutely hilarious. However, he is not for everyone, but in terms of Stats he is your best bet.
Made class very enjoyable, gave us practice questions similar to the test, and provided lots of help. I enjoyed this class very much.
Very funny guy! If you come in late, you have to sing the theme song of the day for the class! He is a very understanding and reasonable man, and he cares about the students who want to succeed in his class. If you need help outside of class, he will be more than happy to help you. And he does give some extra credit for tests!
I love this guy he's very entertaining and for the first time I wasn't dozing off in math class. Idc if he's not necessarily that good at making the lectures relate to test material, I'm jus trying glad to not get a rude, and dull teacher for once.
He's a funny prof, but he trails off into different topics and stories a lot, which can be frustrating when he doesn't teach you anything. If you're able to understand the general concepts of stats, you're fine, but you want to try and get good grades on every test because they're your only grades in the class. He reminds me of Peter Griffin.
I had Professor Drier for MAT1033 and STAT2023, he is literally the funniest professor I've ever had, which makes his classes fun and I look forward to them, just make sure you take notes and you'll be fine! And he really does care about students, if you miss a test he'll walk with you to the tlcc to help you make it up!
Professor Drier was so good! All of his study guides for Tests 1-5 are on his Youtube channel. In addition, he allows you to create your own cheat-sheet for the final exam, which is extremely helpful. He goes over and beyond just to reach out and help you. Hes also hilarious, & has his own way of explaining the concept. No textbook needed at all.
Professor Drier is a great math professor, especially if math is your subject. He does not give mandatory homework (I love that!) and your grade consists of the 5 tests you take (with one dropped) plus your final. I took him for college algebra and statistics. Would definitely recommend. Plus hes hilarious. And dont be late...
Statistics was a breeze for me. His class is fun to be in- I laughed every class. He's not a harsh grader at all, just don't expect your test grades back any sooner than two weeks. He has youtube videos and the textbook is only needed for definitions. I would definitely take a class of his again.
don't take this professor
Funny man who is a really good person. Slow grader. Will call on people randomly. Go in on Fridays for questions and help. He will touch on the material but ask questions if you do not understand. Do the homework and practice for tests.
Very funny professor who does actually teach. If you're looking to pass his class with a higher grade however, you're gonna have to take the time to study the material outside of class, whether that be through his YouTube videos, doing the homework for practice, or going to his review sessions he offers.
GREAT teacher. stats is a very hard subject be he made it easier for me to understand. Graded on 5 tests with a cumulative final (you'll have a cheat sheet). If you talk to him about extra help he will do everything to help you. I highly recommend taking him for stats.
Your entire grade is made up of five test and a final exam. Takes no homework or extra credit. Attendance doesn't matter but is useful. Over 75% of my class dropped out before the withdrawal date because they were failing.
Drier is hilarious! Made math class fun, while still teaching. But, you still need to put in effort/time outside of class. No homework assignments, grades consist of 6 tests and your final, w/ 1 grade dropped. Will call on people randomly for answers, sometimes makes students sing if they're late to class. Will answer questions in/out of class!
He is a good professor, but occasionally won't teach everything that will be on the exams. Your entire grade will be based on 5 tests and a final exam. If you're good at math, this class isn't bad, but if you struggle with math, I would choose a different professor.
Professor Drier is a great guy and is hilarious. However, he plays way too much in class. Each class we barely get through 5-8 simple problems. The rest of the time he tells stories, makes continuous jokes, texts, and steps out of class to make phone calls. Like I said, he is extremely funny but we are paying to learn something.
Has hilarious, engaging stories. Does his best to involve every student. He is a little unorganized about explaining problems. He has online recorded lectures (with more, different examples for questions). About 18% of the grade is definition-based that Drier does not go over in-class. He has an additional, non-mandatory QnA class Friday mornings.
Professor drier is a wonderful instructor and is very patient, and also detailing in his words when anyone has a question !
If you do well in traditional math classes, you will not do well in this class. His lectures were not helpful to me and I have never struggled in math before. I ended up dropping his class because I was not learning anything. He tried to be funny during lectures, but he often called on students, which tended to stress me out. Overall, I struggled.
THIS TEACHER IS THE BEST, he is super funny, and teaches efficiently. All I would say is that his test are kind of hard but there are different sections on the test that he counts for different amounts of points so it is not too bad.
Professor Drier is a phenomenal professor. You dont get the boring monotone voice that makes you zone out with him like some professors. His enthusiasm while teaching really makes it a fun experience. This man even comes in on his days off to answer questions twice a week, so you know he really cares. Will be taking every math I can with him.
This review is for anyone planning to take him for a higher math like mac1140 or mac1114. Mr. Drier cares about his students, aside all sarcasm and satire. Has study sessions twice a week and food. Study a lot on your own. I got this C because I did not study for the finial. However, I would not suggest him for mac1114 -I studied more , and got C.
This review is for anyone planning to take him for a higher math like mac1140 or mac1114. Mr. Drier cares about his students, aside all sarcasm and satire. Has study sessions twice a week and food. Study the book. I studied a lot in this class and still got a C, but he was doing his best to help me. I would not suggest for mac1114. Taken 1/7/19
He is by far the best math professor I've ever had. He sometimes goes off topic but he's a funny guy. He teaches you what's going to be on his exams and he explains everything if you're having trouble. He also does study sessions outside of class for all his students and even brings snacks. Whatever math you're taking I highly recommend taking him.
The BEST math professor!!!! I HATE math, but I was actually SAD that class was over!! He made it so fun and entertaining. He never hesitates to answer any questions you have and I never felt stupid for asking a simple question. As long as you ask questions when you are stuck and do the work, you are good to go!
Professor Drier is literally the best professor I have ever had!! He is hilarious and really makes learning math fun. I was always excited to go to his class because he would make jokes and use real life examples to teach. Every class was like a comedy show. He is amazing at teaching. Exams are super easy if you study.
Don't take drier if you struggle in math. If you are the type of person who need crazy help with math or haven't done math in a while, DON'T TAKE HIM. He talks alot so at most he would do only 5 questions for the whole class period. If you end up taking him, make sure to stay after class the days he has study time and go. Go to tutors as well.
Professor Drier was really cool while I was having health problems, he gave me an extension I really needed. He's helped me during the two semesters I've had him as a prof and I'm going to be in class with him again next semester. He's really awesome, but if you take his class, understand that you need to do the homework or you're not passing.
One of my favorite profs so far. Super funny and made the material very understandable. The class was a little slow-paced for me, but I still enjoyed attending and listening to Professor Drier's lectures. There are 5 tests (lowest is dropped), and the final. Test 3 and on was open notes. Very easy to pass with a little preparation.
This is a good class to take if you have a busy schedule and you're able to teach yourself. He talks a LOT. You take 5 tests and a final and those are your ONLY grades. No extra credit and he might be nice enough to let you retake one test. Will not take this class again unless it is with another teacher. His recordings are mostly nonsense.
Professor Drier is very funny and cares about his students. His class consists of 5 tests (one test will be dropped), no homework, and a final which is 25% of the grade. The tests are tough but with hard work it is possible to get an A in the class. There is more practice material on his Youtube. I would take Drier again and would recommend him.
He is SUPER funny i love him. he doesnt give hw so the only grades for the class are the 4 exams, drops lowest score. Hes a good teacher but sometimes he talks to fast and unfortunately im TERRIBLE at math so i need a class that has more grades opportunities to boost my grade. He has questions and donuts on fridays to help you if you're confused
He is very cool guy who lets you use your notes on the tests and will break things down for you when you ask him about a problem you dont understand well. He also records his classes, and if you cant make it to school, you can see whats happening live in class. He alos hosts after school tutoring for the students. Very awesome teach'
Did one question the entire class period every class, test material is nothing like the class. total of 6 test grades only in gradebook. Not very helpful about outside classroom assistance. I had him for Stats. I'm an A student, only class I've ever had a bad grade in or failed.
He was the most easily distracted professor I have ever had. There was not a modicum of professionalism. His lectures were profane chit chats tangentially related to statistics. I feel like I didn't learn anything. The tests were really really easy, so all you had to do was read the textbook. I don't recommend him at all.
Had Prof. Drier for precal and then trig. Was the best math teacher I ever had. Explained things super well and didn't move on until everyone understood. Absolutely loved his classes and he even holds additional help sessions throughout the week. With Food! Really caring and thoughtful professor.
Professor Drier can very easily get off track and fall into a 30 minute story while youre trying to work a problem. His problems in class are very easy, but very hard on the test. His homework is not graded or submitted but I suggest doing the problems to best prepare for the test. Overall, hes a great guy and a hilarious instructor.
This is easily the best Prof. I have ever taken at PSC! He is so funny and caring. He wants to see you succeed and makes sure to do everything he can to help you! I wish I needed more math credits just so I can take him again!
Drier was pretty okay I guess. He talks a lot in his lectures about things that don't pertain to the class but he also engages with students to help them learn the concepts. The only assignments are tests but I feel like homework should be assigned as well to make sure you get the concepts and to cushion your grade a little.
He is a very funny person and the class is fun but there is no homework, only grades by tests, talks and jokes around for the entire class and then only ends up doing about 6 questions per class. The tests literally have nothing to do with what he actually teaches (which is literally nothing). He grades very late too. Never ever take this teacher.
Online class is straightforward. Easy to make an A!
For the online course, the professor did not give any syllabus or assignment descriptions, just a link to Pearson. There was no guidance on how to use Statcrunch or Excel, and I was lost most of the time. However, I was able to get an A because I found videos online. This was frustrating though, as I would much rather have my teacher actually teach
Made math fun!
Make sure to go step by step with complicated math problems and helped us understand each of those steps. Also made math really fun!
Drier's class is a mixed bag - his lectures can be tangential, but he's engaging and makes the material understandable. The tests are tough but doable with preparation. Unstuck AI was a great study tool alongside the textbook. Overall, a challenging yet rewarding class.
Mid final Drier said "Oh yeah I never taught this".
He is friendly and easily accessible outside of class. His lectures are comical yet relevant to the real world. There is no homework in this course. Your grade relies solely on your test performance. However, he does drop your lowest test grade. He has a YouTube channel with video lectures that he encourages you to review outside class.
Love Dryer as a person, but not as a prof. He talks a lot about things not relating to the concept. No homework. Only graded on tests; which were all online, the temptation to cheat is very much present. The final consisted of some things that were not taught in class. Not required or asked to look in textbook. Maybe only 5 problems per lecture.
Absolutely adore Drier and would take every class with him if I could. He is witty, understanding, and easy going. Only things he takes for a grade are the tests, easiest A ever.
By far, the funniest teacher on campus. He is a personal favorite of mine and recommend his class in person 100%. The topics in class were always fun and he kept everyone engaged. his tests are difficult and his teaching style is unique to others, but he has videos posted on a YouTube channel that are a great outline for the tests. Take his class!
I just finished the course, honestly I think the professor needs to update his YouTube videos. I don't think they were helpfulThe only one that truly helped was how to use the ti calculator one. The book was not useful and the videos that came with it did not help either. No honor lock work at own pace was the upside other resources got me through.
Drier is by far my favorite professor and I would take every class with him if I could. If you're sensitive to certain topics/jokes, don't take him in person. Lectures are not mandatory and consisted of 5-10 examples and the rest was him talking about random stuff. No homework or use the "required" textbook. Only graded by tests, lowest is dropped.
He is extremly funny and has an easy going classroom environment. He's a very understanding professor and really funny. He explains the course material really well and if you still don't understnad and ask him to explain he gives examples that are easier to understand. Overalll, I love my experience in his class.
Great Professor so understanding, funny and I've learned so much.
Class was super easy, finished most all of the work in 2 weeks. He is always answering his emails in less than 30 minutes.
